Life of a Huntsman

On the outskirts of a village at the very edge of the Kingdom of Mistral a group of bandits have been causing a lot of trouble as of late. This village is roughly around 15 years old with a population of little over 100 people living here, while it's still relatively young in terms of when it was first established the people here have actually been doing quite well for themselves. There are a fair amount of shops and small businesses as well as regular Huntsman and Huntresses that are hired to protect the village from the occasional Grimm attacks, unfortunately though the current crisis is a bit more difficult than what they're used to.

Village Elder: Please I beg of you, bring the children back home. I don't know how much longer I can keep the peace before we attract the attention of the Grimm.

The village elder was speaking with two of the three Huntsmen that were recommended for this particular mission. One was a female cat Faunus with long black hair and amber eyes. The male standing next to her had short black hair that slightly covered his red beast like eyes.

Carlos: You have nothing to worry about, we'll take care of the situation at once.

Blake: Rest assured that we'll return the children to their families safe and sound.

Village Elder: Thank you, you have my most undying gratitude Huntsmen.

My name is Carlos Ortiz, I am a Huntsman in a world known as Remnant. However that's not the only thing about me that you should know, this may be hard to believe but I am originally from a world known as Earth. I know that's really difficult to believe but it's the truth.

Anyway it's been several years since we defeated Salem and her forces, it's also been a few years since we graduated from Beacon Academy. During that time we have all gone on several missions to hone and refine our skills out in the world. Right now our mission was to take care of the local bandit problem and rescue the children that have been taken hostage in the dead of night. According to the reports these bandits are the last remaining members of a larger group that had been in the business of multiple crimes, some included blackmail, arson, theft, and as of recently kidnapping kids and using them as slaves, luckily most of the smaller factions have already been arrested and the children they kidnapped were returned home safe and sound. Now it was up to the three of us to take care of the stragglers and bring peace back to the villagers.

As Blake and I headed back to the inn where we were staying we ran into Yang who was waiting for us with some good news.

Yang: Hey guys, did you get any good info from the elder?

Blake: More or less, what about you?

Yang: Yeah, after asking around I got some intel on their hideout. It's a bit of a walk from here, but if we get ready now and head out than we should make it to their location by sunset.

Carlos: Aright that settles it then, let's gear up for battle ladies.

Blake/Yang: Right.

As we went back to our room we changed into our combat gear. Both of their combat gear was actually the latest work of Stark Industries, my brother and I had spent the last few months developing new gear to help out huntsman and huntresses during their missions and we were able to successfully create some prototypes. Blake's new combat gear resembled Black Cat's gear from the newest Spider-Man game while Yang's resembled Black Widow's attire with a few pieces of armor added for defense and a black waistcoat. My outfit was pretty much what you'd expect from a guy like me, since I was basically this worlds Spider-Man and I felt like this mission was going to take some stealth I got prepared in my replica suit of Spider-Man Noir, minus the fedora and trench coat. Once we were all dressed up we double checked our weapons and ammunition and made our way to the hideout.

It took about two and a half hours to get there but fortunately we made it and without any problems along the way. The place we were looking for was an abandoned warehouse located at an old quarry on the north eastern edge of the forest, it was large and with plenty of guards on the lookout for anyone trying to trespass on their territory. Since it was kind of far from the village it made the ideal place for a group of bandits to lay low.

Blake: That's a lot of guards down there.

Yang: Nothing we can't handle, once we get rid of these guys we can reunite those kids with their families, and then we can head back to ours.

They both looked at me with love in their eyes. I looked down at their hands as I looked at the rings they both wore. It was about seven years ago when I proposed to them, and it was only five years ago when our children were born. When we left the village I could see it in the eyes of the people, they were all at the brink of losing themselves to their sadness, all they wanted was to be reunited with their children and return to being a family, I knew that the three of us were more than determined to return from this mission with those kids. We prepped up our earpieces as we loaded our weapons and prepared for battle.

Carlos: Let's do this. And remember, quiet as a cat.

Yang: Sneaky as a spider.

Blake: And strong like a dragon.

I put on my mask as the three of us began our operation. With the sun just starting to set in the distance the shadows from the trees surrounding us provided us with plenty of cover to ambush our targets. When we first approached we quickly noticed the guards were heavily armed with assault rifles, snipers, even rocket launchers from the looks of it. Luckily for us we had the perfect plan of attack, because of my spider abilities I can easily handle the snipers from their hiding spots, no matter how well they think they hid themselves my spider sense would allow me to detect them in an instant. Blake could easily take care of the men that were patrolling the grounds while Yang went after the heavy hitters. In no time at all I quickly spotted one of the snipers using the bushes as cover just south of the hideout, I shot some webbing at a nearby tree to distract him as Blake and Yang began taking care of the men he was supposed to be keeping an eye on.

Bandit: Hey who goes there!

Carlos: Wrong way doofus.

As he turned I quickly webbed up his face as I then hit him in the gut before uppercutting him and knocked him out, I then webbed him to the ground to make sure he wouldn't be going anywhere.

Carlos: Nighty night. ( I wonder how the girls are doing. )

While I was busy doing my share of the work Blake was a little busy fighting one of the other bandits who wielded a short sword, her skills with a blade had improved over the years but her opponent was no slouch. She was able to trick him into hitting one of her clones that she infused with lightning dust, the resulting surge of electricity was enough to bring him to his knees, he was paralyzed long enough for Blake to deliver a swift axe kick to his head and rendering him unconscious.

Blake: Guys I just finished up another one on my end, what's your status?

Carlos:I just finished webbing up idiot number 9, just one more and I'll rendezvous with you two.

Yang:Copy that, I just found a way inside. The guy guarding it seems pretty strong, but not stronger than me.

As Yang approached the guy she simply tapped him on the shoulder as she then knocked his lights out with her mechanical arm before he could alert anyone else.

Yang: Man I love this arm, too bad that guy didn't put up a fight cuz that was disappointing.

Bandit: Hands up blondie! No sudden movements!

Yang: ( sigh ) Buddy, if I had a lien for every " Hands up " I've ever heard, I would be on a tropical vacation with my family instead of dealing with you losers.

Carlos:Yang looks like you're in need of a little backup, want me to assist?

Yang: That's sweet of you babe, but I got this. Have some faith in your wife okay.

As the guy began shooting at her she simply avoided his bullets with ease, all that training she had with Blake and myself really paid off, now she was both strong as well as agile. The guy had no chance against her as she quickly got close and finished him off with a fast combination of punches and kicks before finishing him off with a single shot from her mechanical arm. As he landed on the ground he was encased in a web cocoon as I stuck him to the side of the building.

Carlos: Have I ever told you that you're beautiful when you're beating up bad guys?

Yang: Only a million times.

Blake: Well it looks like we're making good progress so far. Let's head inside.

As we were about to open the door my spider sense began pounding like a drum, I stopped them in time to show them that the door had been rigged with an explosive. Fortunately I managed to locate a skylight earlier and we decided to take a look inside. From what we could see the leader of the group was the only one inside, he was just sitting on a crate minding his own business, we also noticed what appeared to be a staircase that led underground over on the far right of the room.

Yang: You think those stairs lead to where those kids are being held?

Blake: I think so, I can't see anywhere else where they might be.

Carlos: Shall we?

They nodded at me as I broke the glass with my fists, as the broken glass rained down we jumped in afterwards as we landed in front of the man guilty for tearing innocent families apart.

Carlos: Hope you don't mind us dropping in unannounced, I'd like to have a few words with you.

Bandit Leader: And what business do a pathetic group of Huntsmen like yourselves have with me?

Yang: Well then let's cut to the chase, we're here to take those kids back home and take you into custody!

Blake: You have been avoiding punishment for your crimes for too long. Now it's time you pay for them!

Bandit Leader: Am I to believe that you three are more than enough to take me down. I have been able to avoid both the authorities as well as professional Huntsmen for months. What makes you think you can beat me?

In an instant I was right behind him, thanks to my enhanced speed I was able to get to his blind spot pretty easily, unfortunately when I tried to kick him he managed to block my kick using his arm. As he blocked my attack I began to feel my leg heat up, I backed away as my pant leg was steaming a bit. The three of us kept up our guard as the leader dropped a fire dust crystal from his opposite hand, when it hit the ground we noticed that the crystal was drained of its energy.

Bandit Leader: This is why you pathetic excuse of Huntsman and Huntresses have no chance at bringing me in. My semblance allows me to absorb the energy of Dust into my arms. And by utilizing my aura I am able to amplify my attacks. Allow me to demonstrate!

He pulled out another fire dust crystal along with a stone dust crystal from one of the pouches on his belt. As he activated his semblance we could see the two elements combine as his arms were covered in magma.

Bandit Leader: Let's see if you have what it takes to challenge me Huntsmen!

He charged straight at Blake, as he began attacking her with his magma covered fists she did everything she could to avoid coming into contact with him. As she used her semblance to avoid his attacks he began to shoot out some of the magma in a hail of bullets that nearly melted her if I hadn't pulled her away with my webs.

Blake: Thanks for that.

Carlos: No problem, but we're not done yet.

Yang: Then let me have a crack at him.

As Yang rushed him the magma began to wear off as he took out water and lightning dust and his arms began to be surrounded by water that surged with electricity. Yang began firing her bullets at him in the hopes of landing some solid hits only for him to retaliate with water bullets that successfully blocked each shot. As the shots collided they began to cover the room in large amounts of steam that blocked our vision, suddenly Yang was electrocuted and tossed to the opposite side of the room, the bandit leader used the water to grab Yang by her ankle and conducted the electricity from a distance to catch her off guard as the steam kept him concealed.

Bandit Leader: Is this really all you've got? You're even more pathetic than I thought.

Carlos: Then let's see if I can change that tough guy!

As he looked up he noticed that I was running on the ceiling before I started shooting at him. He used the water to create a shield while he shot lightning at me. As I used my wall crawling and spider sense to dodge his attacks I charged up my aura into my weapons with both gravity and fire dust infused into it. After dodging one more attack I jumped down from the ceiling as I transformed my guns into sword mode and combined my attacks.

Carlos: Take this! Enchant Hell Blaze!!

I swung my swords as a streak of purplish black fire shot out from my blades, the bandit jumped to his right to avoid the attack but was caught off guard when one of his arms was held back. He looked over and saw that Blake had used her weapons ribbon to hold onto him, however before he could do anything else he felt his other arm being held back as well. He looked at the other side and saw that Yang was holding his other arm with some webbing attatched to him. As I landed on the floor I ran towards him as I kicked him hard enough to send him flying back, the girls were then able to pull him back to me as they each let go of him as he was sent flying in my direction.

Carlos: Here we go, Crawler Assault!!

I attacked him with several speedy punches and kicks that were sure to leave a mark. After one last blow I used my webs to trap him in place leaving him for the authorities to pick him up later.

Blake: That was easy.

Yang: Yeah, a little too easy if you ask me.

Suddenly my spider sense warned me of an attacking coming from behind, I used my gun and shot down several daggers that were thrown in our direction from the shadows.

Carlos: Who ever's hiding come out, now!

From the second floor of the warehouse a woman step up to the railing before jumping down to meet us face to face. She looked around our age with long green hair tied into a ponytail, wearing a simple green body suit with a silver chest plate, black heels, a utility belt, and black fingerless gloves.

????: Well now, if you were able to detect my attack so easily than those rumors I heard about your semblance being able to sense danger must be true. I'm almost impressed.

Carlos: Thanks for the compliment but flattery isn't going to save you.

????: Aww that's a shame, I was hoping to sweet talk the famous Spider-Man into letting me go.

Yang: I'd save my breath if I were you, you'd be better off letting us arrest you right now before I knock you out for flirting with our husband right in front of us!

????: I don't think you understand just who you're dealing with blondie.

Blake: Actually we do. Your name is Francine Sparks, former Atlas Military soldier turned criminal after failing to follow orders which resulted in the deaths of comrades and innocent civilians alike.

Francine: So you know my name and my former occupation, so what. It won't make a difference in the end, once I'm done with the three of you I think I will take great pleasure in selling whatever remains to the highest bidder!

She then reached into her belt and pulled out a shard of lightning dust, as she absorbed the energy my spider sense began warning me of the danger we were in. Her body began to glow as it began emanating a bright green light, she began to float in mid air as electricity began to course all over her. Her transformation reminded me of Electro whenever he absorbed large amounts of energy and her new appearance matched his perfectly.

Carlos: Just great, this is exactly what I needed in my life. Like I didn't have enough people that already want to kill me.

Francine: Don't worry, once I'm done with you there won't be anything left to worry about. I'll be the one that takes down Spider-Man and his little girlfriends, then all will know to fear my power!

Before anyone of us could blink I was suddenly punched with enough force that I was sent flying out of the warehouse with Francine following after me.

Yang: Carlos!

Blake: Don't worry he'll be fine. He's taken worse hits than that. Besides...

They looked over and saw the bandit leader getting up, when Francine rushed at me she used her electricity to free him while she had the chance. As he got up he grabbed some more dust, this time combining stone and hard light to form razor blade edges on his arms that can slice through almost anything.

Blake: I think we have enough to worry about ourselves.

Yang: I gotta give the guy credit though, he's a lot tougher than I thought.

Blake: Ready?

Yang: You bet. I can do this all day.

Blake could only roll her eyes at the obvious movie reference Yang just made.

Blake: You've been watching Carlos' movies from back home haven't you?

Meanwhile...

Carlos: ( Here we go again. )

That punch from earlier was strong enough to send me flying out of the warehouse and into the quarry outside. After a not so graceful landing I was able to get up just in time for my spider sense to warn me of an oncoming barrage of electrical blasts that I narrowly dodged at the last millisecond.

Carlos: Hey didn't anyone ever tell you that spiders and electricity don't mix!

Francine: Aww but where's the fun in that? It's so much more exciting to watch you struggle before I fry you from the inside out!

As she started flying around me I did my best to avoid her attacks. Unfortunately for me there wasn't anything I could use to swing around from so I had to rely on something else.

Carlos: ( Okay Carlos think. Right now her body is in a state where any physical contact would be a really bad idea. If that's the case than all I can do is hit her with ranged attacks until she exhausts herself. I hope I know what I'm doing. )

As I kept dodging left and right I was able to spot some old mining equipment that was left behind, hopefully whoever was using them didn't mind if I borrowed them for a little while. I webbed up whatever I could and hurled them at her as she dodged most of them only to get hit with a shovel.

Francine: Did you just throw a shovel at me?!

Carlos: What? I thought you'd dig it!

She seemed pretty mad at me so she focused as much power as she could before she slammed her fists to the ground hard enough to send a large beam of electricity at me that I was able to avoid. After the beam disappeared I saw her return to normal, I used the opportunity to attack her with a web strike but as I got within range an electrical barrier surrounded her and shocked me before knocking me back. As I shook off the confusion I could hear her laughing at me as her power returned as she dropped another shard of lightning dust that was just drained.

Francine: Did you really think it was going to be that easy? I wouldn't underestimate me if I were you.

Carlos: Yeah I'll admit that was a bit presumptuous. But don't count me out just yet Electro, I can keep going all night if that's what it takes!

Francine: Oh I like that in a man~. Hopefully you can entertain me a little longer!

As she floated in midair again our fight continued.

Back with Blake and Yang...

The two of them were having a bit of a difficult time handling the bandit leader. Thanks to his semblance he was able to create razor sharp blades on his arms by combining the effects of stone and hard light dust. As both of the girls dodged his attacks they saw that he was able to easily slice through pretty much anything inside the warehouse. Luckily for them their aura was just enough to minimize the damage but it still hurt nonetheless.

Yang: This is insane! How are we supposed to get past this guy without getting sliced into pieces?!

Yang was having some difficulty getting past his defense. His strikes were fast enough that Yang couldn't risk making the wrong move, right now the best thing she could do was to focus on defense with her aura and wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. Thankfully she wasn't fighting alone since Blake was supporting her by shooting at their target from a distance hoping to gain his attention. As the leader tried to attack Yang from her left he was suddenly pulled back by Blake, he then cut the ribbon that was tied around him and he proceeded to have a sword fight with her. Blake was able to hold her own using her weapon and its sheath to deflect as many attacks as posssible, but as she held him back she noticed that her weapons wouldn't hold out much longer since they were getting heavily damaged, it was only a matter of time until they broke and she would be left completely defenseless.

Bandit Leader: Any last words Huntress?

Blake could only smirk as she had him right where she wanted him.

Blake: Yes. Now Yang!

Just as her weapons finally broke she used her semblance to get to safety as the bandit was blindsided by Yang, with a rush of blows using her weapons shotgun function she was able to disorient him while delivering a series of powerful strikes. After one last punch to the face his semblance began to wear off as he used most of his aura to protect himself as much as possible and he could no longer keep his semblance going.

Bandit Leader: You can't defeat me! I have defeated huntsman far more experienced than you across the kingdoms. What makes you think that you can do better!?

Yang: I guess you haven't realized it, but we're just too stubborn to go down that easily.

Blake: You can thank our husband for that, he has a way of rubbing off on you when you get to know him.

As he simply chose to rush at them he wasn't ready for Yang to activate her semblance and finish him off with a punch strong enough to deplete the last of his aura and knocking him through the wall rendering him unconscious.

Yang: And the rest as they say is history.

Blake: Nice job. Now let's go find those kids.

As they descended underground they entered a large tunnel that was lit up by torches hanging on the sides of the walls, after about 15 minutes they located a large room where the children were being kept. They were all cuffed to the floor by chains and looked a little weak but otherwise the two of them arrived just in time.

Little Girl: Are you here to rescue us?

Blake: We are. My name is Blake and this is my partner.

Yang: The name's Yang, just give us a few minutes and we'll get you out of here safe and sound.

After several minutes all the children were released and they led them back through the tunnel and back to the surface. After taking one more moment to count all of them to make sure they didn't leave anyone behind they made a quick call to the village to let them know of the situation.

Blake: Okay thanks. Don't worry we'll stay here with the kids until the airships arrive.

Yang: Are they sending in the ships right now?

Blake: Yeah, we just have to sit back while we wait.

Soon the room was illuminated by a flash of green light from outside as the sound thunder was heard far in the distance.

Little Boy: What was that?

Yang: If anything I think that might be our husband. I wonder how he's doing with that other bandit from before?

Blake: If anything I think he's doing just fine. He is a professional superhero after all.

Yang: Yeah you're probably right. I bet he's giving her the beating of a lifetime.

Back with me...

Francine: I hope you're prepared for the beating of a lifetime you little bug!!!

As we kept fighting against one another I began to notice Francine's demeanor change throughout our battle. I noticed that every time she recharged herself she started to become less intimidating and more aggressive, it was almost as if she was short circuiting her brain from constantly infusing herself with lightning dust or if it was just an after effect from her semblance. Whatever the reason I had to end this fight as soon as possible before she could cause any permanent damage to herself.

Carlos: Listen to me Francine, just give up and turn yourself in right now. You can't beat me in your current state so just power down before you seriously hurt yourself or worse!

Francine: Never!!! I will take you down, even if it destroys me I will make sure you're destroyed along side me!!!

She reached into her belt and pulled one one last shard of dust that set off my spider sense. I instantly flashbacked to the night the White Fang attacked us at Blake's house, back when I was almost buried alive from unstable gravity dust.

Carlos: Francine stop!!!

It was too late, as she absorbed the energy her whole body glowed even more brightly than before, the light was so intense that I had to cover my eyes. Soon the light vanished in a flash as the sound of thunder came from overhead. When I opened my eyes she was no longer there, she completely disappeared without a trace.

Carlos: Is it over?

Everywhere I looked I couldn't see her, I guess all that energy she absorbed was too much for her body to handle and she self destructed. I began making my way back only for my spider sense to go off again.

Carlos: Spider sense is tingling? That's weird, it only goes off whenever there's danger, but I don't see any-... Aughhh!

Suddenly I was hit in the chest by a bolt of electricity and sent flying deeper into the quarry. When I got up again I tried to look for whoever just attacked me but I was all alone. Soon I was hit again, and again, and agian, and again all the while I was hearing this voice that sounded kind of distorted.

????: The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout. Down came Electro and took the spider out~!

Carlos: ( groaning ) Ugh, I really, really hate that song.

As I got up I noticed green particles beginning to surround me, as they got closer together they began to glow with electricity, they formed together to create a female body that was translucent and I instantly recognized her appearance.

Carlos: Francine?! What the heck happened to you?!

Francine: Isn't it obvious Spider-Man, I am no longer held down by the natural laws of lesser humans. I have become lightning itself, a perfect being of pure energy!

Carlos: Uh oh.

As a display of her newfound strength she assaulted me with a barrage of attacks that I couldn't defend myself against even with my enhanced abilities. Her new form was definitely a problem, even though my suit was insulated for situations like this it still hurt a lot and I needed to come up with a new plan to beat her. She was much faster than before so I had to adapt and try to anticipate her attacks much more quickly than what I was used to.

Francine: What's wrong Spider, am I simply too much for you to handle?

Carlos: Hardly, I'm just getting started!

I brought out my guns and tried firing back at her but every shot simply had no effect on her, she then retaliated with orbs of electricity that came at me at high speed so I used my swords to deflect as many as possible. As we continued to battle the other I took notice of an opening that led deeper into the quarry were they used to mine for minerals, it wasn't the best idea but hopefully I could use the caves to my advantage somehow. After dodging one more attack I started running as fast as I could with her not far behind me. Luckily the tunnels were rather large so at the very least I could use the walls, after making a left I came upon a large cavern filled with several levels where all the miners used to work. I saw all manner of equipment from old pick axes to some old machinery that was left abandoned.

Carlos: I hope this works!

As I jumped down I avoided Francine's rush of attacks that she sent after me, the tunnel exploded as several large rocks began to fall as I started swinging around the area.

Francine: Come out little spider, I'm not done playing with you just yet!

As she flew around blasting everything in sight I found some old crates with some spare stone dust left behind.

Carlos: Guess they were able to find some dust in these old mines, let's hope they work on the overgrown lightbulb or this may be my last stupid idea.

After loading up my weapons I wall crawled along the wall to avoid detection, as I made my way towards her I noticed that she started to laugh like a maniac.

Carlos: ( This is bad, the excess power might actually be frying her brain. Better get this over with fast before she's fitted for a straight jacket. )

I jumped from the wall in an attempt to get her from behind, as I got closer to her she instantly vanished and reappeared behind me as she charged up her power to finish me off. She was surprised when she saw that her body was cut in half, she looked to me to see my swords glowing with a brown aura and stone covered the edges of my blades as they were imbued with stone dust as it affected her form.

Carlos: Guess you're not as invincible as I thought you were.

Just then both her halves reformed themselves as I stood in front of two Electro's.

Carlos: Guess I spoke to soon.

Francine(s): Now this is more like it! Now I can take you out in more ways than one!

As they both charged at me I swung around the cavern avoiding them as much as I could. Whenever they got close I used the stone dust to cut them down, only for them to split into more of themselves shortly afterwards. Fortunately I actually had a plan in mind, I remembered something from the Shattered Dimensions video game that might be exactly what I needed.

Carlos: Listen Fran, you need to stop this right now, that unstable dust you absorbed has made you too powerful.

Francine(1): So what if it did, if anything it's the best thing to ever happen to me!

Francine(2): With all this power not only can I defeat any huntsman or huntress that's stupid enough to challenge me...

Francine(12): ...But now even someone like General Ironwood will have no choice but to bow before me!!!

Francine(s): And it all starts with you getting buried six feet under!!!!

As I kept playing keep away I dodged some of her copies charging at me as they entered some of the old machinery, they roared to life once again as they powered up after being shut down for so long.

Francine(30): This power is absolutely incredible!!!

Francine(9): I am nowhere, I am everywhere!!!

Carlos: I wish I could be happy for you, but being everywhere and nowhere is kind of unsettling.

Once most of the machines were powered up thanks to her copies the remaining ones started talking gibberish, some of them even froze in place while others had no idea what was going on and started arguing with one another.

Carlos: Just like I thought, your consciousness is getting spread too thin. You have to power down now!

Francine(1): I can't... can't... not until... I... eye... I de... feat... deflate... defeat... YOU!!!!!

Francine(3): Wait what if he's telling the truth!

Francine(16): No he's obviously lying!

Francine(4): Wait he's right, I can feel it!

Francine(65): Shut up!

Francine(7): Admit it he's telling the truth!

Francine(1): All of you just shut up!

Francine(s): BE QUIET!!!!! YOU'RE DEAD SPIDER-MAN!!!!

Carlos: Well than come and get me!

I stood in front of a wall with a large drill that was ready to dig through, as one of them entered it and took control she had it charge at me at high speed, thankfully I remembered something Blake told me about this place before we left for the warehouse earlier today.

Carlos: An abandoned quarry?

Blake: Yeah, apparently as time went on the workers found better minerals to dig over at the next town and decided to just leave it behind. Also I heard that there was an underground reservoir so they had to be careful to avoid flooding themselves when they were working down in the mines.

That's what I was counting on right now. At the last second I jumped out of the way as the drill dug through the wall, water began pouring out from the cracks and soon the whole wall came crumbling down as hundreds of gallons of water filled the cavern. I swung back to the entrance to avoid all the electricity that came into contact as it began surging in a brilliant flash of light. Once the light dimmed away I noticed Francine back to normal and unconscious, once I knew it was safe I went to retrieve her and I put on the special anti-semblance handcuffs created by my brother.

Carlos: Lights out Electro.

As I carried her back to the warehouse I saw several airships landing with enough room for all the rescued kids as well as several ones from Atlas ready to escort the bandits to prison. I also noticed Winter talking with Blake and Yang while some of her soldiers came over to carry Francine to a holding cell on their ship.

Winter: I wish to properly thank you for succeeding on this mission. An airship will arrive later today to transport the three of you back home.

Yang: No problem, it was a piece of cake.

Carlos: For you maybe, I almost became barbecued spider.

As both of my wives saw me they ran to me to hug me, we took one of the airships back to the village and landed in time to see the smiles on everyones faces as families were reunited.

Blake: This is the part of the job that makes it all worth it.

Yang: I know what you mean. Makes me miss our little girls so much.

Carlos: Me too, let's get packing, we have a long journey back home and I could really use a break.

After heading back to the inn one last time we packed all our things and after taking a well deserved nap with my wives we waited by the edge of the village as an airship began to descend. We said our goodbyes to the villagers as they thanked us once again and now we began the long flight home. It took several hours but after flying all night and about half of the next day we finally arrived at a landing port in Vale, luckily I had my car parked at a reserved spot and I started driving us home. It only took 45 minutes thanks to the lack of traffic and I opened the door to see Ruby reading over on our couch.

Yang: Hey Sis, we're back.

She ran over to us to hug us and welcome us back home.

Ruby: Welcome back you guys! How was the mission?

Blake: It was a little difficult, fortunately we handled it quite well. Except I need to replace my weapon, they got destroyed during the fight.

Carlos: And I was almost roasted alive, but that's enough of that. How were the girls, were they behaved?

Ruby: Of course they were, they've never been a problem before. They love hanging out with their favorite Aunt Ruby.

Blake: So where are they?

Ruby: They're in the kitchen having lunch. Girls come over here, you're parents are back!

As soon as she called them we heard the unmistakable sounds of two sets of footsteps running towards us. Two little girls made their way from the kitchen and into our arms in a warm embrace.

One of them was a young cat Faunus with black hair and cute little cat ears on her head. The other was a girl around the same age as her with black hair with hints of blonde.
