"Darling, as your father, I don't want you getting hurt out there. However, I don't think there will be a problem."

I sit in my bathtub, looking outside the window. The sky is a bright blue, and the grass is greener than usual. The flowers around me appear more colorful. I lift my body to where my torso is above the water and my elbows laid against the edge. My hair is loose and damp from the water. I look to see the overall image of the trees and skies above. My eyes dilated to adjust. My heart feels full once again.

It is around 9 a.m. and the giants have not done anything unusual as of late. They are back to grazing and dollying around. Unfortunately, I noticed that some of my giants have appeared to be missing over time. I assumed they drop dead eventually. My precious Dina has not come back to my land for a couple of months now. Her devious yet innocent smile will be missed.

All things were well until I started to hear the gallops of horses coming near me. I lift my body higher and look to my right to see a few horses with humans on top of them. They come out from the forest with faces of stern determination. I noted this and decided to stay where I was at. I assumed there wouldn't be an issue.

Until I see blood spattered at my window.

I flinched and do a double-take to see if my eyes have deceived me. I look past the streak of blood and see one of the giants on the ground. Nape sliced. I pursed my lips and continued to stay where I was. I saw at least ten horses with men on them. They looked so angry and looked at my giant friends with such disgust. They continued to slay one by one until there was no one left. I was confused until I remembered they were the feast for my friends the other time (I assumed, from the direction that they were coming from). Nonetheless, I sigh and set back down to where only my torso was above the water again.

I felt sorry for my friends, but I assured myself that this was an eye for eye transaction. Their bodies radiated steam as they slowly dissipated into the land. I hope they fertilize my garden!

They all seemed to be trained slayers. They wore green capes, black boots, and white leggings below with black straps. I noticed two of them in particular that looked different from the rest; a man with a similar cold stare as my father and another one who had blue eyes. The one with the cold stare looked shorter than the rest but had a lot more vengeance in his movements, violent even. The one with the blue eyes only stood out because of his physical appearance. He had a blond bowl cut almost, however he looked sad. His eyes reminded me of the ocean almost.

My eyes were stuck on the horses galloping into the bunch of trees when I saw that a boy paused to look at my window. The boy with blond hair. I shifted my body back a bit.

"Hey," His voice sounded slightly high pitched. "is it me or there's some blood just sitting in the air-"

"Come on, Armin," another soldier told him. He came trotting towards him on his horse.

"But look! Tell me I'm not the only one that is seeing this?" The boy looked over in the direction of my window and widened his eyes. His emerald orbs traced over the splat of giant blood. In the middle of his tracing, he and I seemed to make eye contact with one another. My I felt my heart sink into my stomach. I stopped breathing. I noticed that he has hair that is growing towards his shoulders slowly and he still has the little twinkle in his eyes. His skin is a deeper olive. I managed to keep the contact until the boy pries his eyes away onto the scene ahead of him. I saw him blush a little bit.

"I can only handle one mystery at a time man. We can focus on that later." He grumbled. The blond boy nodded. They eventually galloped away to catch up with the rest of their crowd. I continued to devote my focus towards them until I realized that I am topless and that I probably did what they called "flashing". I felt a slight blush settle on my face. I sat back down in my tub and only hoped that the boy really didn't see me. By this time, the water started to get cold.

I tossed my head up to the ceiling and stared at myself in the ceiling mirror. My mind started to run in circles once again.

I don't even know why I'm thinking about this.

"I don't know, maybe I should join the military or something," I was on the phone with my friend in another realm and was painting my toes. The phone rested between my head and shoulders. The interaction between the boys and my window lingered in the back of my mind.

"What? Oh my god please tell me this is a joke." They hissed. I started to paint my left middle toe a second coat of white.

"I'm not, I'm actually thinking about it. I'm not lonely by any means but my father has me looking at these giants a little differently. Put a jinx on me and everything…" I said, chuckling.

"Uh-huh. Sure," They sighed into the phone. It sounded like they slapped something.

"You good?" I asked.

"Yeah, that was me slapping my head because of how fucking weird you sound right now," I rolled my eyes. "Didn't you send your emergency line to find out some info on those things?"

"I mean yeah, but he didn't want to dig too deep. Or at least the shallowness of the directions I gave implied that." I pulled the phone out off of my shoulders and made it suspend in the air a few inches away from me. I put my friend on speaker.

"I would've thought that you would've gotten to know the land and its people with how long you've been there. You've been in that land for over one hundred years, and you just keep deciding to isolate yourself." I paused. They started to sound a lot like father when speaking about these things.

"I told you, I swore off on humanity a long time ago," I reminded them. "I like living here, in my garden and home. I can do whatever I please."

"… but you're telling me you want to join the military?" They posed. I paused briefly.

"Yes, but I would only be there to observe and learn about the giants," I reassured. They paused, then let out a small sigh. I caught wind of how I started to sound, but I decided to stick to what I had started.

"But, Lilith, do you see how illogical and irrational you're sounding right now? You're making it sound like you're afraid of them – the humans I mean."

"I'm not afraid of them," I laughed. "I just prefer to be alone. It's a lot more peaceful." I wiggled my toes a little to make sure the paint didn't get on my skin.

"Damn, maybe they're not even that bad you know? Maybe there are some good ones out there. You never know." They said, sweetly.

"So we're just going to pretend that stoned and crucified my man Jesus into oblivion? And why they did that?" I chuckled.

"I'm not listening to that right now! Besides you're in a whole separate universe from where that happened. In fact, why the hell did you even move over there anyway if you're trying to stay as far away from them?"

"Dad said it wouldn't be good for me apparently. I can see where he's coming from from the social aspect, but I've already been alone for a while now. I didn't and still don't see any other problem. I'm not completely human myself anyways."

"Lilith, you came from miss Eve and the King of Hell, do you not see the potential conflict this imposes? You seem to be contradicting yourself along with your intentions and I'm having trouble trying to be supportive here." They exclaimed. I groaned and rolled my eyes. Here they go with the bullshit again.

"I join, skip the training stuff, and just eavesdrop. If they need me for something, I'm there as their soldier, nothing else." I explained. The plan was meant to be short-lived. I couldn't let my crops die out after all.

"Swear… if that isn't the stupidest shit I've heard I wouldn't know what is," They scoffed. "And you don't even have to go this far! You could quite literally just watch from above. People wouldn't concern about you a bit especially if you camouflage yourself enough!" I pursed my lips together. They were right. However, somehow I had a stronger urge to pull a stunt like this. "This doesn't seem like you, Lilith. You're going from completely blocking yourself from human interaction to getting involved in their little militia." I started to become flustered. It was making the brush in my hand shake.

"Okay, well…I'm doing it. Besides I could just wipe away their memory when I'm satisfied anyway." I huffed. It's true that I could, but I've never had to do it before.

"Can't you see into the future or something? You could gather information like that, can't you? You can't see the past already?" They inquired. I stared at my freshly painted toes and looked out my window into the scene.

"I don't have a lot of powers you know, so I don't think I should use them too extensively if I'm not in danger," I murmured. "Especially with dealing with something as complex as time. I don't want to mess that up if I don't have to," I didn't like using my powers, mostly because I've grown out of touch with them, and I don't have the desire to help or hurt others. Besides, with a person like myself, in what situation would I really use them for? For others? What do I look like? A hero?

"That's so cute. You're not going to run out of stamina or anything. You know this." They said soothingly. "You can only grow. You could expand your powers if you really wanted to!"

"Babe, I am aware. I choose not to,"

"That so fucking stupid, babe. I love you though so as long as you're happy, I'm happy." We sat in silence for a couple of moments. "I have so many more questions to ask you. I still don't understand why you're doing this, and the current vibe is telling me that you're not going to answer to that anytime soon. We'll talk later though… let me know if you manage to get in. Be safe."
