If anyone were to ask, Sasuke was never part of the plan. In fact, he wasn't even aware of a plan until two minutes before being dragged to the popular dango establishment. Even during those two minutes of struggle against the orange abomination known as Naruto, all he was able to get were: watch over, possible interference, honor, study and Sakura.

When he was finally let go of at the rooftop across the establishment and saw Sakura sitting across a brown haired boy with light brown eyes, both enjoying dango, did he fully understand what was going on.

"This is not a good idea idiots," he cautioned but made no move to actually leave, instead choosing to squat down and peer over the ledge.

"Teme!" Naruto, whispered, which really was the volume of a normal person talking. "We don't know what kind of things can happen to our Sakura-chan during this 'date'" He continued, air quotes around the word date.

"Yes, dickless is right," Sai added from the other side of Naruto. "I too believe Ugly may be in danger and it'd be a shame if something were to happen to her."

"Aww, even Sai cares teme!"

"Yes, well if something were to happen to her, the bakery may be shut down and that bread is too good." The pale artist added, unaware that his reasoning was less than noble but still appreciated by Naruto.

For his part, Sasuke could care less, he had more important things to care of, like the upcoming chunin exams in a day. Deep down he knows that Sakura is definitely someone he considers important after all, these past three months of knowing her has been enlightening to say the least. Each member of Team Seven, including their sensei, has been ensnared by her.

Naruto always greets her with a bear hug and a boisterous smile. Sai calls her ugly without any heat and, dare Sasuke say, has started to be more open and emotional? Kakashi certainly has a sort of fondness for the pinkette, going so far as to say if she were in his team she'd be his favorite student. Sasuke for his part has slowly continued been smitten by the pink haired beauty that seems to plague his mind long into the night. Almost but not quite making his nightmares disappear but giving him hope for a better future in which Itachi doesn't threaten his happiness with Sakura.

"Neh, teme, I think this guy is no good for Sakura-chan. I mean look at those skinny arms! Meh, even you'll be better for her," Naruto mussed, throwing Sasuke a wicked smile.

Sasuke's only reply was to ignore his idiotic teammate. He wasn't sure how Naruto managed to piece together his admiration of the young pink haired girl but the blonde ninja wouldn't drop it even if Sasuke denied it all and was therefore at the receiving end of constant remarks.

"I thought Kizashi said this was a study date dickless, shouldn't there be books?" At the monotone inquiry both Sasuke and Naruto looked over the ledge again.

"Damn, do you think Sakura's dad lied to us?"

"I don't think so," Sasuke replied to Naruto's worried tone. Over time the young ninja were able to meet Sakura's dad and even shared conversations with him. Kizashi was a nice man who was as delectable as his bread. He was also very welcoming to Team Seven in part, possibly, because his only daughter was just as smitten with the genin team as they were with her. "Kizashi mentioned that Sakura had a test coming up and that's why she was meeting up with a few classmates," he added in what was possibly the most he's ever talked.

"Yes, he said a few but I only see one and from what I can tell he's a he and therefore a threat to our beautiful Sakura-chan! We should go and interrogate him!"

Naruto's exclamation of a bright idea had Sasuke's stomach turning in what could only be described as unease. For all his genius and remarkable prowess even Sasuke couldn't predict that this proclamation would be their undoing and create a shaky relation with Sakura.

The three young genin were quiet, wondering about the unusual situation they had found themselves in. They all knew Kizashi wouldn't lie to them just like they knew Sakura wouldn't lie to her parents (especially with a mother like Mebuki). No matter what they came up with it looked like either daughter or father lied and if that was the case Team Seven felt like they were deeply wronged (or in Sai and Sasuke's case a significant amount of anger).

Eight minutes later the young genin had the opportunity of a lifetime to 'innocently ask a few questions' as Naruto would later describe it. Sakura had seemed to excuse herself to the restroom giving the boys enough time to jump down and casually (in Naruto's case storm) into the bustling dango establishment and straight towards the unsuspecting brown haired boy.

"Hey hey hey there! Naruto here what's your name?"

If he were anyone else, Sasuke would pray to have the Earth open up and swallow him. As he is an Uchiha, his only option is to discreetly do an Earth technique jutsu, granted he didn't know any but it was worth a shot to save himself from this unfortunate circumstance.

"Uh my name is Hiroto, do I know you?" Brown eyes peered at the group with caution.

"Eh you've probably seen us around doing ninja stuff ya know? Saving people, completing big missions," Naruto said as he flexed his orange sleeved arm. "What you doing here Hiroto?" The blonde ninja continued his questioning, trying to sound as innocent as possible but coming across as accusing, the cold stare on Sasuke's face probably didn't help either.

"I'm just here for a study session with a couple of school friends?"

Naruto rolled his eyes towards a silent Sasuke. "A couple? I saw you with Sakura-chan only, two people, not enough to be considered a group," the pretense of idle chit chat was gone from Naruto's face as a full on sneer appeared on his tanned face. "You're not planning on harming our sweet, sweet Sakura are you?"

"What dickless means is that Ugly is an integral part of Konoha and thus it is our duty as-"

"Sai! You're supposed to be look out!" Naruto rounded on the pale boy.

"I am being on the look out," he said with a semblance of a smile.

"Well," Sasuke said, interrupting his squabbling teammates. "It appears, your target has spotted us."

"Naruto, Sai, Sasuke? What are you boys doing here?"

"Sakura! You know them?" Hiroto had the audacity to sound angry.

"Yea, they're regulars at my dad's bakery," she responded as she walked through team seven. "Why are you guys here?" She repeated.

"Heh, well you see Sakura-chan, err," Naruto was starting to lose his composure. Suddenly, sounding unsure of himself, this was bad news to Sasuke. "Neh, it's a funny story," now he was rubbing the back of his neck, starting to chuckle a bit. "It's so funny I can't, I can't even get it out. Sasuke-teme can tell you Sakura-chan. It's really really funny."

At the mention of his name the black haired boy threw a glare at Naruto. Last time he checked he was dragged into this mess against his will.

A high pitched scream stopped all conversation in the establishment, all pairs of eyes turning towards the back where a blond haired woman stood. Blue eyes wide, hand resting above her heart and mouth poised for another scream.

"RAT!" She screeched before grabbing the arm of a nearby patron.

"Oh no that's not a rat ma'am that's just my drawing I left to keep an eye on Ugly."

"Excuse me?" At her tone, Sasuke was more than ready to get swallowed by the ground.

"It's not that bad Sakura-chan we just wanted to make sure this guy wasn't being a creep or something." Naruto beamed at her, as if that explained everything.

"Naruto! This is my classmate who's here to help- ma'am that's just ink!" The pinkette's warning came too late as the broom smacked the rat and next thing the patrons of the establishment see is an explosion of black ink.

Sasuke always hated the absurd amount of ink Sai's animals held.

"Should we do flashcards next?" Hiroto asked.

"Yes! Flashcards and maybe do a quick practice test afterwards?"

"I think we should take a break."

"Shut up and keep scrubbing idiot."

Sasuke swore to himself that next time Naruto wants to be a gentleman he can do it himself.

a/n: I took an unknown mini vacation? Sorry about that but here is Chapter 3. Truthfully, I could have done so much better but I'm tired lol. I definitely effed up the time line though, I'm sure Team 7 was doing missions longer than three months before they were entered to the exams. Oh well, lol.

Let me know what you think of this chapter.

The Babysitter story will also be getting updated on the 1st of May.
