After the girls saved they made their way into the room with the bowl of monster candy. Frisk took one piece and turned to leave when she heard a loud clatter. Spinning around she saw that Chara had taken four pieces, knocking over the bowl in the process. Chara looked at the bowl of spilled candy before shrugging and placing the four pieces in her inventory as she passed Frisk out of the room. Frisk wished to talked to Chara, but thought better of it as she followed her out of the room.

As they began to make their way to the save room's exit a whimsun pulled them into a FIGHT. Before Chara could do anything however, the whimsun took one look at her and ran away.

"Aw, poor whimsun." Frisk said as she watched the timid monster run and hide behind a froggit. "Chara, you didn't need to scare him."

"I didn't do anything." Chara replied as she watched the whimsun quiver in fear. "Come on, we're wasting time."

Chara and Frisk silently left the room moving into the hallway with the crumbling floor, both falling through and climbing back up on the other side. As they walked wordlessly into the next room, Chara's old phone began to ring. Frisk answered it already knowing who it was.

"Hello? This is Toriel." Toriel said from the other end of the line. "For no reason in particular... Which do you prefer? Cinnamon or butterscotch?"

"Butterscotch." Chara and Frisk said at the same time.

Chara and Frisk looked at each other, Chara was unfazed but Frisk looked surprised.

"Oh, I see. Thank you very much!" Toriel said before hanging up.

After a brief pause Frisk said with a small smile, "Chara I didn't know you liked butterscotch too"

Chara simply rolled her eyes and replied flatly, "You never asked."

Before either could say anymore, the phone rang once again.

"Hello? This is Toriel." Toriel said. "You do not DISLIKE cinnamon, do you? I know what your preference is but... Would you turn up your nose if you found it on your plate?"

"Nope." Frisk replied.

"What about you Chara dear? Do you dislike cinnamon?" Toriel asked.

Chara sighed before replying, "No I don't dislike cinnamon." After which she walked ahead of Frisk and began to push the rock onto the button to clear the way.

"Right, right, I understand. Thank you both for being patient by the way." Toriel said before hanging up once more.

After they left the room they arrived in the room where most of the floor was crumbling. Frisk, who had the entire route memorized, lead Chara across. Halfway through they encountered a moldsmal. Chara chose to lay on the floor to imitate it rather than flirt with it, leaving Frisk to spare it.

"At least getting to New Home won't be boring." Chara said as the moldsmal slowly crawled away from them.

After they finished getting past the crumbling floor, they came across the three rocks. Chara moved the first two and let Frisk deal with the third one. After Frisk nicely asked the rock to move onto the button and to stay there, they crossed the previously spiked covered bridge. As they reached the room's exit they were pulled into a FIGHT with two froggits. Chara complimented them both while Frisk spared them.

When the FIGHT was over, and the froggits had given them both 10 gold for being nice, Frisk said, "Wow Chara, we make a really good team don't we?"

"Whatever, let's just get going." Chara replied harshly as she moved into the next room.

"I'm so sorry for what I did to you Chara." Frisk said in a quiet voice as she held back the tears that were threatening to fall.

As they continued to make their way through the RUINS they easily solved every puzzle they came across thanks to Frisk having memorized all of them, and spared every monster they encountered. When they finished cheering up Napstablook, Frisk made a quick detour to purchase a spider doughnut from the spider bake sale.

When they made it to the room that had two switches beneath crumbling parts of the floor, they split up and flipped both switches, clearing the way. As they met up at the room's exit Frisk held out the red ribbon she had picked up from the southwestern hole.

"Here Chara, put this in your hair." Frisk said with a smile.

"Why?" Chara asked looking at the ribbon then back to Frisk.

"Monsters won't hit as hard if they think you're cute."

Sighing Chara rolled her eyes as she grabbed the ribbon from Frisk. Tying it into her hair she and Frisk walked into the pillar and colored switches room. After solving the room's puzzle and sparing a froggit and a migosp, they had finally made it to the crossroads that lead to Toriel's house.

"Finally." Chara said as she and Frisk made their way into the courtyard in front of Toriel's house.

As they got near the black leafless tree they heard Toriel say out loud, "Oh dear, that took longer then I thought it would."

Toriel appeared from behind the tree, phone in hand about to call them, when she saw the girls standing in front of her.

"How did you get here, my children?" Toriel asked as she put her phone back in her pocket. "Are you hurt?" After looking them over she said, "Not a scratch, impressive. But still, I should not have left you two alone for so long. It was irresponsible to try to surprise you like this. Err... Well, I suppose I cannot hide it any longer. Come, small ones."

Toriel quickly walked back inside the house. Chara and Frisk followed, stopping to save at the nearby save point.

Once everybody was inside the entrance hall Toriel said, "Do you smell that? Surprise! It is a butterscotch-cinnamon pie. I thought we might celebrate your arrival. I want you both to have a nice time living here. So I will hold off on snail pie for tonight." Chara reflexively made a face but Toriel seemed not to notice. "Here, I have another surprise for you."

Toriel walked towards the bedrooms, Chara and Frisk followed close behind her.

"This is it..." Toriel said as she lead them by the hand to Asriel's old room. "A room for you both. I hope you like it! Chara I apologize, the furniture store had closed before I had a chance to get your own bed. I hope you two don't mind sharing one just for tonight."

Chara and Frisk said nothing as Toriel ruffled their hair with her soft warm hands.

After a brief moment Toriel said, "Is something burning? Um, make yourselves at home!" Before quickly walking towards the kitchen.

Chara shook her head while Frisk hid a small smile. Chara entered their room with Frisk following close behind. Chara glanced around the room and saw that nothing had changed much since the last time she had seen it.

Frisk yawned and said, "I'm going to sleep Chara, do you want the bed?"

"No I'm not tired. You sleep, I'll just sit on the floor and wait." Chara said as she sat with her back against the opposite wall facing the bed.

"Chara are you sure you're not tired? There's plenty of room for two of us." Frisk said, worry apparent in her voice.

"I'll be fine, LOVE is all I need." Chara replied with a cold twisted smile.

Frisk opened her mouth to say something but decided not to as she took off her boots and crawled into bed.

"Good night Chara." Frisk said quietly as she turned over and went to sleep.
