I finished "The Secrets He Keeps Secreting!" I'm continuing this story at 5 in the morning

I can't sleep, ok?

Anyways, Enjoy!

Harlem and Daisy

At free period, Taylor returned to the lab room. She began to put all the puzzle pieces together. She knew everything she needed to make the time warp machine. The material was at her house and all she needed to do was build it.

Just as she was wrapping up, Daisy Simons walked in the lab and sat down in front of Taylor. "Hey Tamara." Daisy said as if that was Taylor's real name and they were best friends.

"It's Taylor." She corrected with a eye roll.

"Whatever." Daisy sighed loudly and tapped her fingers on the desk. "Taylor, do you want to trade partners? I'll ask Mr. Levy if we can. I think that would be nice. How about you?"

Taylor shook her head. "No thanks." She replied. "Mr. Levy told us we can't trade partners.

"Please Tiana?" Daisy begged.

"It's Taylor!" Taylor corrected again.

Harlem Patterson came in the lab room next. "Oh, uh... hey Taylor!" He said. "How's y-your experiment g-going?"

That reminds Taylor. Harlem doesn't like to talk much because of his stutter. "My experiment is coming along quite nicely." She politely responded, trying not to sound annoyed with them. "I should get going-"

"-What Tamika!" Daisy exclaimed. "I think Harlem wants to ask you something."

"Taylor." Taylor corrected yet again. "My name is Taylor McKessie and you know that, so please stop pretending like you don't know my name."

"Y-yeah." Harlem said. "I h-have something t-to ask y-you." He smiled at Taylor. Do you w-want to be my science f-fair partner? I would l-love it if you w-would, it would be my p-pleasure to help y-you out with your p-project."

Taylor gave him a fake smile because on the inside, she was pissed. Why does Harlem think he would be helpful to her? To be honest, she doesn't need anyone's help. Chad is acceptable though because he may be assistant scientist material. (or, you know, test dummy) "That's ok Harlem. Chad and I have everything covered." She turned to her notes. "Thank you anyways."

Daisy glared at her. "Listen McKessie, and listen good. I don't know why you think Chad Danforth would like you. You of all people." She hissed. "You think you're better than everyone just because you know a few complicated math equations. But really, that doesn't prove anything. It just proves that you're trying too hard to impress boys. Chad only wants you as a science fair partner because you're smart. He-"

"Hey Taylor! You in here?" Chad came out of nowhere. Perfect timing. "Oh hey Taylor! I was just wondering where you were. You ready to go work on the project in the library?"

Taylor was silent, kind of sad and hurt by what Daisy said, but Daisy spoke up. "Hey Chad!" She twirled her red hair. "How's it going? Are you still the best player on the basketball team? Haha."

Chad ignored her and helped Taylor grab her stuff. "Let's go. It's about time we go to the library." He put all her stuff in her backpack, zipped it up, and then helped Taylor up. "Bye Harlon and Delphine!"

"It's Daisy!" Daisy corrected with a flirty smile.

Chad pretended not to hear her. He walked away with Taylor next to him. "Whoa, that Daisy Simons is really annoying." He groaned once they were out of earshot. "Like my mom would say, 'She's going to lead me to an early grave.'"

Taylor looked at him. "How did you know I when to come?" She asked.

"I saw Harlem and Daisy going to the lab to confront you." He answered. "I know that Daisy is trying to make sure you and I don't become too close. She's a crazy son of a bitch." He laughed to himself. "But us? I think we'll make a great team. Chad Danforth and Taylor McKessie. The tough ones! Sorry, that was lame."

Taylor laughed softly. "I think that Daisy and Harlem are just jealous we're going to win the science fair."

Chad nodded and smiled. "Damn right. They are going down. Even lower than you. Shorty."

Taylor shook her head. "Did it ever occur to you that I am not a 'shorty', this is the average height for a female of my age?" She scoffed. "I'm actually really tall compared to Kelsi Neilson by the way."

Chad smirked. "But you're still short."

Taylor sighed, then handed him a piece of paper. "Here's my number. Come over tomorrow afternoon so we can work on the project. That sound good to you Chad?"

Chad took the paper and nodded. "Sure."

"Good." She grabbed her backpack and walked off. "See you later." She can't keep anyone close after what happened between her parents. A argument that she got involved in and made things way worse than they already were. That's why Taylor needs to make this time warp machine. She could go back and undo things for the better.

But first, all these people need to stay out her way.

To be continued...
