Hello, just a quick not to apologise that some of these came out in code, I'm entirely sure what happened, but it should be back to normal now! Thank you to the people that let me know it was code, so I could sort it!
I could find the whole meaning of life in those sad eyes.
Her eyes stayed on the ground as she approached. She looked broken. He'd seen her broken before, but this time it was different. The man she had fallen in love with in Los Angles, had publicly cheated on her and then blamed the whole thing on her being a boring prude who couldn't satisfy his needs. The press had had a field day. He couldn't believe it when he realised she'd been villainised just because she didn't want to have sex. He was horrified that anyone could be treated that way.
They've seen things that you never quite say, but I hear.
He opened his arms for her seeing the look in her eyes. He'd seen it before. It was the look she'd had when she'd broken up with him in New York, she was hurting, but she was trying to be brave. "Mercedes." He whispered as she walked into his arms, a tear sliding down her cheek.
Come out of hiding, I'm right here beside you, And I'll stay there as long as you let me.
"I've got you." He told her, as she broke down in his arms. "I've got you." He repeated and he meant it.
Because you matter to me, Simple and plain and not much to ask from somebody.
She always had been important to him. Ever since they had become a couple, he'd known one day he'd be the one to marry her. She was the most important thing in his life when they were together and when they'd split up. Right now he knew what she needed, she needed to know she mattered. She needed to know she wasn't what the papers had printed about her. She needed to know she had allies.
You matter to me I promise you do, you, you matter too I promise you do, you see? You matter to me.
"I'm sorry I'm wasting your time." She told him as she continued to sob.
"Mercedes," He sighed. "You never could waste my time." He told her. "I wouldn't be here if you were wasting my time." He reassured her.
It's addictive the minute you let yourself think. The things that I say just might matter to someone.
She nuzzled into his neck. She knew he cared. She knew he loved her, but she'd never once let herself believe it. She'd never wanted to let herself believe it. He could hurt her badly if she let him. She was always afraid to let him.
All of this time I've been keeping my mind on the running away. And for the first time I think I'd consider the stay.
This was different. Sam had proved his love for her. He'd fought for her, he'd waited for her, he'd loved her. She was beginning to realise she loved Sam. She had always loved Sam.
Because you matter to me. Simple and plain and not much to ask from somebody.
"I love you Sammy." She told him. She didn't mean to say those words. They had just slipped out. It wasn't a lie. She did love him, so very much.
You matter to me I promise you do, you, you matter too I promise you do, you see? You matter to me.
"I love you too." He told her, running a hand through her hair. "More then anything Cedes'." He informed her. She nodded into his chest and nuzzled in further.
And you matter to me.
He gently pushed her back and leant down so his lips met with hers. She kissed him back, letting herself enjoy his touch. Letting herself enjoy his lips.
Simple and plain and not much to ask from somebody.
He melted into the kiss. She loved him. All this time he had wondered, but now he knew she loved him. She really loved him.
You matter to me I promise you do, you,
She placed her head on his shoulder, when they separated as they moved to stand side by side. Sam was her person. He had the ability to make her feel so unbelievably loved. He made her feel like she mattered, even when the world made her feel like she didn't.

Mercedes had hidden for so long. From him. From their friends. He knew she was ashamed of the articles. He knew she had been hurting. He knew her ex had left her broken. He knew he couldn't fix her, but he also knew he could help her. He knew he could offer her support and encouragement as she healed, and he knew that when she was ready to perform again he'd be in the front row cheering her on.
You matter too.
She knew he needed her as much as she needed him. She was determined to do it right. She wouldn't let it end in a break up. Not this time. /
(As long as you have me)
He held onto her like his life depended on it. He didn't want to let her go. He wanted it to go well this time. He wanted to end it with a walk down the aisle, starting a family, sitting on their porch as they got old together. He could see it all.
I promise you do, you, you matter too (Out of hiding I'm right here beside you)
"You know First Love Fire is all about you." She informed him, with a small smile. "I guessed." He responded. "It wasn't subtle, the first verse literally talked about a Southern love." "Yeah but I didn't want go admit it." She looked up at him. "But I'm your first love?" He winked at her. "Maybe." She replied looking down at the ground and blushing a little. "Well Cedes' you were my first love." He leant down to kiss her again. "I love you." He whispered before kissing her again.
