"I've spoken the Father- lucky for you he's a fan of my cakes. He's not happy about the short notice but he'll have you married next Saturday. I take it the wean doesn't know?" Louise asked quietly. "Thank you Mammy. No he doesn't" Walter replied. "I wanted to be sure Father Paul would marry us before we let him know. He's wanted us to be a family for a while now." Walter paused for a moment before continuing "My Team are on their way over tomorrow I wanted to announce the engagement with everyone together if that's ok with you?" Louise smiled brightly "You've given me very little notice on everything but I couldn't be happier." For the first time in a long time Walter initiated a hug with his mum, Louise cried tears of joy as she embraced her son. "You'll be needing a ring if you're proposing to your girl" Louise said seriously after they both pulled away from the hug. "I'll not have you buying one- you'll be giving her the family ring" she said removing the from her hand and pressing it into his parm. "Its been in our family for generations so I'll be exspecting you to pass it onto your wean when he wishes to marry." Walter stared at the ring in his hands, he already had Paiges word that she'd marry him and the ring made it feel all the more real, but in less than 24 hours they'd be officially announcing it-in a week they'd actually be married!
The thought made him feel rather dizzy.
