The week before classes in the Officers Academy start, and Artoria decides to train by herself with Caliburn, however...

My first day went good so far. In the library, I learned about Dark Magic spells and I wanted to learn some of them.

The most basic one was Miasma, a small Dark Magic projectile and it was the basis for the other spells, so I wanted to try it as fast as I could, so I headed to the training grounds and set up a doll to practice.

The first shoot was good, but I didn't actually managed to hurt it too much, so I kept firing until one of them destroyed the doll.

"Alright, only 17 shots to destry one, I hope I can make it better next time" - I said to myself while I wrote that on my notebook.

"Training all by yourself, Lady Artoria?" -

"Hubert, what are you doing here exactly?" -

"Taking a look around the place, nothing else" -

"Really? I expected you to be with Edelgard, asfter all she chose you over me" -

"Is that... Jelousy I detect in your voice, Artoria?" -

"Yes, it is Hubert. I didn't said anything because there were too many people around, but I think I'm better suited to lead the Black Eagles with Edelgard than you are" -

"Understand something Pendragon, while we both might have a good mindset, you're hot headed and tend to rush decisions when the situation is critical without considering if they could fail or not, and Lady Edelgard knows this very well" -

"And what about you Hubert? You always agree with everything Edelgard says, never question any of her orders even if they can be questionable, that doesn't sound like a good trait to me" -

Both stayed in silence, just glaring at each other until a little laugh interrupted them.

"I didn's expected that being at my side would be so important to you two" - Edelgard arrived to the training grounds - "I must say, both of you make some really good points, and I appreciate them" -

"Edelgard" I'm sorry if I..." -

"Don't be Arty. If you so desire, you might also help me lead the Black Eagles alongisde Hubert. Having 2 advisors would put me in a better positon and will help me prepare for when I ascend to the Imperial throne" -

"Yay!" -

I jumped to hug Edel out of hapiness, I just couldn't believed she agreed so easily!

After that, Edelgard and Hubert left and I stayed to keep practicing all afternoon with Miasma, I wanted to have a good grasp of the spell. Tomorrow, I'll go outside and train with Caliburn.

When the night arrived, I was kicked out of the training field by the Knights of Seiros. I protested, but none of them listened and escorted me back to my room. Bummer, I still have energy... I know! I'll check what Edelgard's doing!

I got close to her room, but when I was about to knock I heard little snors coming out of there, she's alredy asleep. Bummer, but I guess I'll try something before going to bed.

I went to my room and pulled out Caliburn. I felt the blade light up in a silver light as it conected to my Crest of Macuil and the magical power started to overflow. This is bad, if I can't control it I'll end up hurting others... Maybe I can try it out in the forest outside of the Monastery to avoid hurting innocents.

With that in mind, I went to sleep...

/?/

Where... Am I?

I can't see anything, everything around me is dark.

"Edelgard? Hubert? Mom?" - I said to the wind, but I found no answer, or rather I found one but an unkown one at that.

"So, you're my descendent? Yo bear my Crest, the first one in many years to have a Major Crest of Macuil and yet you can't use it... Pathetic, I didn't expected your bloodline to be so weak, I'll have to dispose of you..." -

/Next day/

"NO!" -

I suddenly woke up feeling cold, whatever that voice was shot at me a tornado of black wind, I was so scared!

I got up from bed, noticing I was covered in sweat, so I quickly changed to the Academy's uniform, grabbed Caliburn, put it in its sheat and left for the woods under the Monastery.

In the way, a Knight of Seiros questioned me as to why I was going outside with a sword if there were training grounds here in the Academy.

"I just want to practice in a more open place, nothing else" - I answered, not bothering to look at him.

"Fine, but be careful, Giant Wolfs have been sighted near the area and have everyone in high alert" -

"Giant Wolfs? Nothing to fear, Demonic Beasts are something else but I can handle some overgrown dogs" -

The Knight looked at me with distrust before letting me trough. Who does he think he is? Just because he's a member of that little army that follows a dead Saint, he has no authority over me.

After arriving to the forest, I pulled out Caliburn and prepared myself to use it. As I grabbed it, the magic started flowing and the sword glew silver as I struggled to hold it properly.

"Steady Artoria, don't do anything crazy with it"- I said to myself, trying to calm down - "Small swings to start" -

I did small moevements using Caliburn. Left, right, left, right, slow and steady, to make sure I don't...

"GRRRRR"

"What's that!?" -

A Giant Wolf!? Ok Artoria, it's just a wolf, you can take him out.

"Take this!" -

I launched a swing with Caliburn at the wolf and managed to scare him off and... Wait, is that... Fire?

"Oh no!" -

I set fire to the forest!

If any of y'all wondering why would Artoria do this, well take in mind that she's, as Hubert said earlier, hot headed, and that brings many problems. This is but the first of them.
