ME: Dear readers, thank you for reading this story, and I am sorry I haven't updated in a super long time! I am having writeres block and it's hard to shake and focus on 1 story at a time when my brain refuses to focus on 1 idea at a time. hopefully I'll be able to add more chapters to this and the others, but my brain has other plans. Kai's p.o.v.
Remembering my dream I waved my hand and concentrated on moving the water. With slow movements I managed to get myself out of the tub without splashing too much water on the floor.
"Now to get the towel." I grumbled, using my hands to drag myself to where I had left my towel. When I was dry my tail vanished! It would have been awkward conversation with dad and Sky if they saw my tail. Luckily they weren't home last night, so I'm off the hook. Hopefully no one will tell them. Plus I'm lucky to have my own bathroom.
Then realisation hit me. 'S***! Cleo and the others were with me last night!'
Looking at the towel I was still holding I facepalmed, I could have used my powers to dry myself. Oh well.
After I was fully dressed I decided to visit the Sertori's and talk with Cleo.
No p.o.v.
The girls already knew about their tails, but the reactions were all different. Cleo was close to freaking out not wanting to be part fish, Emma was kinda happy, but at the same time sad (goodbye swim team!), Rikki was smiling like kid in Christmas morning while Kai was just content. Maybe it wasn't so bad that they moved to Gold Coast.
*knock knock*
"Oh no, it's Lewis. I forgot that he was helping me with biology today." Cleo stood up just as Lewis entered the house.
"Cleo? Cle-oh." Lewis stopped when he saw Cleo standing right in front of him.
"Don't mind me, I was just leaving." Kai said as he stood up. He looked at Rikki. "See you at the secluded part of the beach?" He whispered when he passed by her and Emma.
"By Kai." Cleo called after him.
-Secluded beach-
"Aaah!" Kai's head snapped up from his nap when he heard Emma and Rikki exclaim in shock when their tails appeared and they fell down.
"What took you guys so long?" Kai slid down from where he was laying half in the water and swam closer to the blond mermaids. "Nice tails." He complimented.
"Likewise." Rikki took another look at Kai's blue tail. "Your tail is different than ours."
"We'll I'm not a mermaid." Kai helped both Rikki and Emma, so they could go swimming. "I'm a merman. There's a difference." He dove into that waves, followed closely by Rikki and Emma.
The three of them spent long time swimming around the reefs, testing out their tails and how long they could hold their breath for. All in all they had a good time. By the time they returned to shore all of them were smiling and laughing.
"So did either of you discover your powers yet?" Kai asked when he pulled himself out of the water.
"Powers!?" Emma and Rikki exclaimed and stared at Kai, surprised/shocked looks on their faces.
Kai looked at his mermaid friends. "Yeah, I had a weird dream last night and I tested out my theory this morning."
Emma shook her head. "We better find Cleo." They would have had to wait for their tails to dry, but Kai surprised them once again by first moving as much of water off of them as he could before somehow steam drying them. "Let's head to my place." Emma pulled Kai and Rikki behind her as they left the beach.
-Emma's house-
Cleo had just joined them at Emma's place. All four of them gathered in Emma's room to hear what Cleo had to tell them. She had discovered her power and by accident, so did Emma, Kai tried to copy Emma and to their surprise he could do the same.
"Rikki." Kai looked at the hotheaded blonde. "I think we know what your power is. Remember what I did at the beach?"
"Steam drying? That's my power?" Rikki asked with a disappointment.
Kai shook his head. "That's only part of it Rikki. I think you can boil water, Emma can freeze water and Cleo and control and shape water. Somehow I can do all 3 of those too." He tilted his head in thought. "Although in my dream I also did this." Moving his hand Kai made himself invisible.
Cleo let out a small scream when she saw Kai vanish. "Kai?!"
"Calm down Cleo, I'm still here." Kai's voice came right where he still sat, even if the girls couldn't see him.
"That is so wicked." Rikki grinned widely as Kai slowly made himself visible again. "What else can you do?"
Shrugging Kai replied. "No idea, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough." He then frowned. "You guys do realise that we can't tell about this to anyone. Not even our families." 'Not even Sky.'
"Kai is right. What ever happens we are in this together." Emma said with a serious face.
"Doesn't mean we are married does it?" Rikki asked with a groan.
"No thanks. I'm not even dating anyone." Kai said and leaned away from the girls.
"Now that was actually funny." Emma said to Rikki, causing all four of them to start laughing.
