Delilah observed the heart monitor as Caspian shocked the body again with the defibrillation unit. "Third time's the charm," He said.

Delilah nodded to agree.

"Ready?"

"Ready."

The machine bleeped and Jerome's body jolted with the shock. The pair paused and looked at the heart monitor. The slightest sign of life flickered across the screen. "That's all, thanks." She grabbed her notepad again, beginning to write things down. A noise came from her pocket and she pulled her phone out.

"You know, you shouldn't have that in the lab," he commented. He saw the uncomfortable expression on her face. "Anything important?" Delilah sighed as she looked at the screen. "Ah… no." She pressed ignore and put the device back in her pocket. "Just um...cold calls. Trying to sell me something." Caspian nodded, beginning to pack the unit away. "So, did you find anything else out?" he asked.

"Congrats on the clown remark. I believe you actually made a decent joke for once, Caspian," she said still jotting down notes.

"Found out about Haly's then. I always found the whole clown thing creepy myself. I can understand why so many people have phobias of them. Clowns are weird." He remarked as he gathered his stuff.

"Coulrophobia."

"What?"

"The phobia of clowns," she said and returned his look, "it's called Coulrophobia."

"Huh. You and your fancy words, Dr. Lilah Smith," he chuckled. "You sound like a real doctor now."

Delilah smiled. "I am! What the hell else am I doing working here?"

Caspian only laughed. "Alright. See you later."

Delilah closed the door behind him, waiting a second before she spoke. "Sorry about that Jerome," she sighed and returned to him, "Now, where were we?"

The newspaper showed an image of Jerome Valeska standing in front of a height chart, a wide smile on his lips.

Delilah's eyes scanned the quotation beneath the picture. "Jerome Valeska, 18, matricide." She looked below it and saw a picture of Lila Valeska when she was alive. "Must have been pretty bad for it to end up like it did." She pulled out another folder and opened it up to a document. It belonged to Arkham Asylum; an inmate medical report. It listed all of his psychological problems, possible diagnosis, what medication he was on and his tendencies. She came across a line that concerned her a little. "'Side note for the staff: Patient is extremely violent. Do not leave unattended'." She looked at his picture on the report. "Well, I'm pretty sure you won't be doing any harm anytime soon."

The light flicked on and the lab was illuminated with the light Delilah saw every day. She met the metallic bed Jerome lay on, still motionless. She took note of his heart rate on the monitor's screen.

"Delilah..."

Delilah recognized that voice. She moved her eyes to the body. "Did you say something?" she asked.

His arm twitched slightly.

The limb shot up and grabbed her arm.

She grabbed the hand with hers, easily ripping it off. "The hell?" She looked over to his face.

He was smiling.
