Phantom Prime chapter three
On a long stretch of road that led out of town road a figure on what one would consider a very unusual color scheme, however the bike wore it beautifully. The figure on the bike was a 16-year-old boy, and the motorcycle was actually an alien from another planet.
Jack and Arcee had just past the city limits before Arcee kicked it up a gear and started speeding down the long dusty road.
"So, what was that about back at your house?" Arcee asked her teenage companion.
"Nothing you have to worry over Arcee." Jack replied simply.
"You sure? Your girlfriend didn't seem fine until you stepped in." Arcee said.
"First, not my girlfriend, I couldn't do that to her if I tried, and second, it's a personal matter that only I understand on how to address." The half ghost teen said. The underline "Don't push it!" was in the boy's tone.
Realizing that she poking a very sensitive topic, she changed the subject.
"Did you hear about that fight that ended at the Police station?" Arcee asked.
"Err… can't say I have…" Jack answered.
"Apparently a superpowered being known as "Phantom" was seen trading blows with a metallic maniac!" she said. Jack could tell she didn't believe it, and If Jack hadn't been the one throwing down with Skulker, he'd have a hard time believing it himself.
"Really?" Jack pressed.
"Yeah, apparently, he once was in a small town known as Amity Park before he went missing, no one knew where he went, and then that fight happened earlier, Optimus wants to try and talk to him about possibly helping him if he ever needed it!" Arcee spoke.
Jack huffed in amusement, "If I didn't know any better Arcee I'd say you had a crush on him!" Arcee swerved with a start.
"I'll call the kid cute, but I think I am more jealous then anything. The kid can fly, and I can't…" she said.
"Sure… look Arcee I am sure this… "Phantom" would be flattered to have alien girl fawning over him, but I have a slight suspicion he might have someone else he maybe into. Call it a hunch, but if he is as powerful as you paint him, he wouldn't really even have to ask, would he?" Jack said.
Arcee sounded a little down when she spoke next, "Yeah I guess you're right." She said as they pulled up to the silo.
The others in the base looked to see Arcee pull in through the service entrance, and who was with her.
Arcee stopped and Jack got off and removed his helmet. "Hey, guess who's back…?" he said.
Optimus smirked before issuing an order, "Autobots prepare for departure!" he said to his team.
Jack walked up to the living area where Miko and Raf were before he asked "Where to?"
"The final frontier!" Miko said.
"Space, I thought they didn't have a means of leaving?" he asked.
"The don't really, but they're desperate so…" Raf let the last of the sentence hanging.
Jack nodded before he felt another chill go up his spine, he coughed the conceal his breath.
"Sorry guys I gotta use the restroom really quick." Jack said as he turned to go down the corridor where the restroom was in the silo.
Despite the place being old, the army had changed up some of it to be adequate for humans to live in, meaning that a human could turn this place into their permanent home and no one would know about it.
The team, save for Ratchet, had departed. And the medic was far more concerned with the team then he was then the kids at the moment.
Meaning, Jack was able to leave without the doctor questioning him.
Once he arrived at his destination, he morphed to his ghost form. He still hadn't really got a good look at himself by this point but he needed to do something else before he did that.
He turned invisible before he left the room in search of the ghost who came here.
He found himself in a storage vault deep with it the base confides when his ghost sense went off again, "What is going on? It didn't do his two years ago…" Jack thought.
Learning from Skulker, he took it as a preattack que and ducked out of the way, ending up on the other side of the room.
"That was very unnecessary, Phantom." A voice called out, the voice, Jack wasn't sure what it was, but it sounds as old and as wise as time itself.
"You're thought process would be right about that young one!" the source of the voice revealed himself as a blue floating entity with a purple hood and a staff of some kind.
Jack narrowed his eyes, "Who are you suppose to be?!" he said defensively.
"I am Clockwork, and I must say this is not at all a timeline I was expecting…" the ghost mused.
"So, there is a "Master of Time"? I didn't think that were the case."
"You have a reason, in every other timeline I have to intervene for the sake of the future, I haven't had a reason to until now." He said critically.
"Meaning…?" Jack asked the ghost.
"Jackson Darby, once known as Danny Fenton. The world needs you again, not just for the trouble with ghost, but aliens as well, the decepticons are dangerous to this world. Optimus would benefit greatly from knowing more about you, and Sierra as well!"
"Sierra…?" he asked.
Clockwork smiled. "Earlier you said you had a theory about why she had ghostly attributes, I am here to save you the trouble of confirming the theory, because you'd be right."
Jack's eyes widened at the statement, "She's… she's…"
"Yes, Jack she is turning into a half-ghost half-human hybrid, and she will be as powerful as you!" he said with a smile.
"I did it to her, didn't I?" he asked.
"Not necessarily, you see before time began it was said that there would be a rise of the Halfa race, a race so powerful that they could do what they needed to protect those who they cared about. And in order to ensure that they could protect themselves, it was written that the sole mate of a halfa will slowly and sometimes painfully transform into a halfa as well."
"Meaning Sierra, is the girl I was meant to be with…" Jack whispered to himself.
"You will be the start of a very powerful race of beings, and all of your family will be the same as you. Halfa's, it wasn't written who it was to start it, but it was written that when it starts, it won't be defeated. No matter the opposition."
"So, the rise of the Phantom Family will start here, and go on to end of time…?"
The time ghost nodded.
"However, it would be wise to save the family growing until after, you defeat the decepticons, it wouldn't end well if you don't."
"Beat the Con's and then have kids… got it, anything else?"
"Your core has changed to a neutral core, meaning now you have control of all elements, and not just ice."
"I guess the name 'Jack' gave me more then I bargained for…" he mused.
"Correct, now, I'd advise you going, the team will need you in a few minutes."
Jack nodded as he turned around, "Thank you Clockwork, I will do what I must to ensure this world stays safe. So long as I breath!" he spoke.
He was out of the room before the ghost of time spoke once more, "I know you will!" he said softly with a smile.
He disappeared back into his clock tower to watch the future for the young man move forward.
Jack was back on the ledge before to much longer with a slight amount of relief, he now knew what it was that was causing Sierra the trouble she has been having, and while he couldn't fix it, he knew how to prepare for it.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when Miko called out to him.
"You coming with us?" she asked.
He looked at her and Raf standing up by the cave entrance with a look of adventure on their faces.
He nodded. "Ladies and gentlemen, Phantom, has returned!" he thought to himself. He stood and walked down to the portal with a purpose in his step.
"Let's go!" He spoke. the trio walked threw the portal and arrived at their destination in a matter of seconds.
They approached the first main door that they could find, Miko tried opening it, it resulted in a click-clack as it shook but never budged.
"Great, worlds in danger and we can't get in!" Miko huffed.
"Lemme try." Jack spoke.
Miko moved out of the way as Jack strode forward and grasped the locked doorknob.
He let his ice power flow as he focused on the inner working of the lock, finally after a few seconds he stepped back a kicked the doorknob into the door and broke the lock from the inside out.
The door slowly slides open and the three teens moved in with haste.
Later
"Security sure is lax around here…" Miko said as she was keeping an eye out for trouble.
A few seconds went by before Raf spoke. "I'm in, but so are the con's!"
"What?!" Miko hissed.
"how can you tell?" Jack asked coolly.
"The same way you can tell online gaming servers are hoping with action, there is mobile activity, and they're really driving it forward trying to get a lock on Cybertron." Raf explained.
"Stop them at all cost, cut them out of the servers if you have to, they do not get a lock on their home world!" Jack spoke.
"I'll do what I can, but I am not promising anything." Raf said before he resumed.
Suddenly Jack felt something shift behind him and turned around.
He saw a metal claw pointed at him.
Reacting on instinct, he tackled Raf and Miko out of the way. "Get down!" he yelled while he did.
Miko ended up by a fire axe and pulled it off of the wall where she found it and let out a war cry as she tried attacking the claw.
The claw quickly swatted her away, "You gave it an axe?!" Jack spoke in annoyance.
Jack shifted his stands and shot a challenging glare at the claw.
The claw moved at him, and with his reflexes, he leapt and flipped over the axe wilding claw in a form of athleticism that would make some gymnast jealous.
Jack ended up beside the wall after a few seconds of evading the axe, baiting the claw to strike him where he stood.
The claw took the bait and swung.
"JACK?!" Miko and Raf yelled in terror as the axe impaled him and into the wall.
However, when he moved away from the wall without even a scratch, the two were shocked.
"Not so troublesome, now are you?" Jack antagonized.
The claw seemed to hiss at him before it rushed him. Except Jack had other things in mind.
Jack formed an ice dagger and punched the middle of the claw, driving it deeper into it the farther forward it moved.
The pain became unbearable for it, as it pulled back with a blue liquid dripping from it and retreating.
"Get back on that computer, I'll handle this!" Jack said as he cracked his knuckles.
He stepped out of the room and gave chase to the claw. He found its owner quickly there after in what Jack had to guess was the main frame of the computers.
"So, the claw has a master? Or do you have a master yourself?" Jack said as he strode forward.
The being looked at him with no face or expression, the vison did a good job of keeping people in the dark of what the figure was thinking.
"You're not human…?" the figure asked.
"Oh, I'm human, just a very different kind of human!" Jack replied before he leapt into the air and delivered a hard punch to the figure's face.
He knocked the figure over and into the main frame. Causing it to spark.
"Mission: complete!" The figure spoke.
He then turned to the boy, "You will not get in the way!"
"Good luck stopping me!" he said before firing ice blast at the main frame.
The figure turned his arm into a cannon and fired at Jack.
Jack in turn turned intangible. And after the blast cleared up, you could almost see the shock on the figures face plate.
"Like I said, 'good luck'!" Jack said before he turned invisible and returned to his friends in the room they were in.
"They're looked onto Cybertron for good." Raf said after Jack walked in.
Jack nodded. "There's nothing else we can do here then. Let's get out of here." Jack said as they called for Ratchet to pick them up.
After they got Ratchet to send a portal, he could feel the looks of the two teens he was with.
"You're wondering how I survived aren't you?" Jack spoke without turning to look at them.
"It crossed our mind…" Miko admitted.
"Before you start getting any crazy ideas… I am in fact human; I just have few 'unique' features." Jack said.
"Does it have anything to do with Amity Park?" Raf asked.
"In a way…" Jack said as the portal to base appeared in front of them.
The three kids started walking through the portal as Jack explained farther.
"Amity Park was where I was born, and its where I had an accident that turned me into what I am now."
The three entered the base and Ratchet greeted them, "I over heard the commotion, I am glad you three are alright."
Raf spoke next, "Yeah, I wish we were able to stop it, but it seemed to be inevitable." Ratchet Nodded.
"You brought the team a couple minutes, and Optimus intends on using them wisely." The medic explained. "It seems I underestimated you three…" he said with a smile.
He left the three teens in their thoughts and went back to his station to communicate with the team.
Jack started walking up the stairs, Raf and Miko followed him up and once on the couch, and once they we are sorted, Jack resumed his tail.
"It happened shortly after I turn 14, my parents were in the middle of wrapping up a project that they called "the ghost portal" it didn't work initially, but after some snooping around on my part, I got it working…"
"It was easily the most painful thing I had ever experienced…" he said.
The three teens sat down on the chair.
"Though if I am being honest, it felt quite nice to use those powers again…" Jack admitted.
Raf and Miko shared a glance. "What kind of powers do you have?" Miko asked eagerly.
"Flight, invisibility, intangibility, Cytokinesis, ectoblast, advanced healing, super hearing. Among others." He listed softly.
"Woah, you're a super hero Jack!" Miko spoke, Jack shot her a look, "No, I am not, I am powerful being I'll admit, but I am not a hero. And I never will be, not after the attack on my family…"
"The Wisconsin Ghost…" Raf whispered.
"Vlad plasmius, or as you two probably remember him as, Vlad Masters…" Jack said.
"He attacked the Fenton Family two years ago…" Raf continued.
Miko's eyes narrowed slightly, "Your name is Darby though…" She pointed out.
"It wasn't always that. My name two years ago was Daniel Fenton, we changed our names to prevent ever being harassed by Vlad if or when he ever broke out of prison. I just hope I can get Sierra trained up before then…" He spoke.
"Wait, Sierra, the cheer captain?" Raf asked.
"Apparently the sole mate of a 'halfa'…" he pointed at himself. "…me, will show signs of becoming a halfa as well, which I wasn't too sure about until just a couple hours ago."
"And Sierra, the most popular girl in school, is showing signs of being a…'Halfa'?" Miko asked.
"Us being friends for the last two years… I know I was starting to think of her more than a friend but for me to see her as anything else scared me... I valued our friendship. I didn't what to throw that away for a fantasy…" Jack explained.
"It seems it isn't up to you on that subject." Raf said.
The three kids sat in silence for a minute before they over heard Ratchet say something about blowing up the space bridge.
"If I knew how it was engineered, I could lead you though reversing the current and causing it to back fire…"
The three kids resumed talking.
"So, why is she just now developing powers if you two are meant to be together?" Raf asked.
"I'm not sure, But if I had to guess its because she is developing feelings for me…" Jack replyed.
"So, what happed if this is true and Sierra is really supposed to be your soul mate?" Miko asked.
"I guess we let the pieces fall as they should for the time being, this isn't something we should force, I'll need to let time do its thing and cross the bridges as they come." Jack answered.
"You think she'll be as strong as you?" Miko asked.
"I hope so, I don't want her to not have a way to protect herself if I fall in a fight."
Raf suddenly adopted a thoughtful look, "Does this mean you have another form?" He asked.
Jack looked at him, "You mean like an alternate image that I turn into to keep my identity hidden?" the boy nodded.
Jack nodded his answer, "Phantom…." He breathed.
The other kid's eye's widened, "As in Danny Phantom?!" they hissed at him.
"…Retired…" he said sadly.
Miko's eyes narrowed instantly, "Not so, if what the reports from around town are indicating..." she said.
"I'll admit that was me that fighting a ghost, mostly because I didn't know anyone else in the area would be able to, and I couldn't let anyone get hurt." He said.
"Sierra?" Raf offered.
"She might have gotten lucky if she came across Skulker, but Skulker is not an enemy to engage with before having some practice, I got lucky the first time I crossed him, it was only because I had a few weeks to get used to my powers beforehand." Jack answered.
"Might?" Miko followed.
"Sierra and I spare regularly, she can hold her own without powers, throw those into the equation and it's a different ball game."
Miko frowned softly, "Personal experience?" she asked. The raven-haired teen nodded.
The three sat in silence for a minute before Jack spoke again.
"After today, Danny Phantom doesn't exist anymore, he died in Amity with the Fenton's, however taking his place will be someone more determined to bury threats to the innocent. Phantom, made his debut today, but he will only be fighting the battles that count. And with him will be a team, a sidekick, 'Mrs. Phantom', unless Sierra thinks of something better, a tech genius, and someone who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty."
"What do we call ourselves?" Miko asked with excitement on her face.
"Team Phantom!" Jack smiled.
The portal opened up and Ratchet rushed to it to meet the team.
Bumblebee walked threw carrying the limp form of Arcee.
"ARCEE?!" Jack said, panic over took him as he rushed to the female robot.
He barely heard Ratchet speak, "We've already lost one this week, please by the allspark don't let it be two…"
Jack gently touched her hand and sighed sadly; he had a brief flash back to his sister dying in his arms after Vlad wounded her.
His eyes started to water up, knowing that if another girl died because of his inability to prevent it, it would sting far worse, knowing he would never be able to help others as much as he should be able to.
"I've lost too many friends to mad men, please, don't let her be one of them…" he pleaded.
He suddenly felt a rush of power flow from his core to his hand and into Arcee's hand, it felt warm, not the kind that you'd expect from a heater, but the kind you'd expect in a hot tub.
Inside Arcee's damage analyses center everything started to read "repaired and operational" and when she opened her eyes, she saw Jack holding her hand.
"Really Jack?" she whispered with a smile.
Jack looked up, unable to processed what just happen. He didn't care though, Arcee wasn't dying today.
"There are other motorcycles out there." She joked.
Jack smiled, relived to see her still functioning.
"You were my first…" he said to her.
Meanwhile, Thomson residence.
Sierra was asleep on the couch while her father and mother spoke with June.
"She should be fine so long as you keep fluids in her." June spoke.
"We'll keep an eye on her, thank you again for bringing her home." Janet Thomson said.
June smiled, "It was my pleasure, she's a sweet girl, and she's always welcome in my house."
John nodded, "And Jack is welcome here."
June stepped away to go back to the car before one last thought crossed her mind, she turned back to the Thomson couple, "One last thing, if something strange, happens with her, could you call us to check up on her?" John and Janet raised an eye brow before answering, "Sure, but 'Strange' how?" John spoke.
"Trust me, you'll know what I mean, it won't be harmful, at least Jack doesn't think so, but I know that Jack would appreciate it." June said.
Janet looked at her husband, "Is there something wrong with her?" She asked as she looked back at the nurse.
June hesitated. "I am not sure how to put it. Jack is looking into it, and he'll let us know what's going on, it's the way he's always been about it when it comes to this, it won't kill her Jack is sure of it, but whatever is happening, Jack will need a few more days to be able to get a grasp of everything happening. I'll call you guys when Jack is ready with the explanation." She explained.
"We'll be holding him to it, but until then, what do we need to do?" John asked.
"Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do, the most we can do is try and keep her relatively calm for the next few days until everything settles for her." She spoke.
"She loves Tom and Jerry." John offered. June nodded.
"That may be the best therapy for her for now." The nurse agreed.
Janet looked worried, "What could be happening to her that only Jack may have and answer to?" she asked.
"I have an idea, but I am not sure, you see my son was in an accident when he turned fourteen, after that he went through a weird phase but he didn't have many issues. Sierra is showing similar signs of the post-accident Jack went through, I don't know how or why they would be connected, but Jack is going to looking at resources he has learned to look for after the accident to make sure that he's working theory is right." She said to them.
The Thomson's looked at each other again.
"So long as Jack and you are positive about it, we wont worry to much about it." John promised.
"Not without difficulty at least…" Janet added.
"If I didn't have as much faith in Jack, I'd have a hard time as well, and she isn't even mine." She said.
She stepped forward to her car and grabbed the handle to the driver's side door and opened it, "I'll let you know when Jack finds something." She called over her shoulder.
"Thank you, June." The two parents spoke together.
The nurse nodded and shut the door; she drove off not a moment later.
"I hope you know what you're doing Jack, because there is only so much, I can do to keep the peace." She said to herself as she drove on into the night.
Well look what we have here. Another Phantom chapter.
I know, long time no see, but in my defense things have been quite insane in my neck of the woods.
First, I am now a certified EMT! Happen in January and I have had a hell of a time getting a job with an Ambulance service (some time in my life time would be great FBI… State… whoever)
Second, I have been up to my neck in insanity with my present Job, being a cook for united supermarket has its perks, if you have good people to work with.
Third I have been working on another Chapter with my One shots story, which if you go and look at that story, it's got a new name, just like this one.
The Birth of NEST is supposed to be as it sounds, however it won't all be fighting, some will be racing, others will be adventure, as well as a few other things that I plan on doing later on.
So, with school being out of the way for now, I do expect to be able to write some more, however, I wouldn't get my hopes up too much.
Before I forget, some reviews!
Game-Watch: That was the goal here, Jack knows what he can do, and he intends to use it well.
Ensgavin: Thank you for your patents, it's been a pain in the aft keeping the schedule I have and writing.
Guest: Here we are, Hope you liked it!
Bladeknightmare: Thank you!
Reaver216: My creativity comes in waves, if it was steady like I wish it was I would like it a lot more. Hope you enjoy everything else I put out!
XLR8wuzhere: Errrr…. No, I am more on the sibling relationship with those two.
Valours-Prime99: Hopefully I can get more of this story out and soon!
But, like always, thank you guys some much reading this chapter, if you liked it, please fav, follow and comment, And I'll see y'all later.
