A/N: Okay, so for those that are trying to follow with names, I've decided to provide some info to help clarify if anyone is struggling to keep up 😊
Hisakata : Kagome's Father. (Moon in the sky)
Mitsuki : Kagome's Mother. (Full Moon/Bright Mood)
Kimitsuki : Sesshoumaru's Mother ( Empress Moon)

For now, these will be the majority of the names you will need. As other characters gets introduced, I'll post additional info/notes like this.

Hisakata was rarely shocked.

Yet, there was no better description of how he felt than this when his daughter entered the world.

Healthy.

Strong.

Dangerous.

Instantly, he knew she would be unlike any other.

Even as she took her first breath, he saw it.

The Magic and Reiki intertwined within itself.

Silently, he thanked the gods for such a blessing.

To add to such shock, he turned to his wife and rewarded her with a smile that was filled with happiness and pride.

She had done it.

The love of his life had accomplished the impossible.

More importantly, she had accomplished such a task with both herself and their daughter healthy as can be. As he examined her closely, he noticed a change to her Reiki almost instantly.

Now, a stream of reiki was distributing itself to both of them.

Paling at such a thought, he wondered what repercussions would come from such an offering. In pregnancy, he had noticed her offer of Reiki grew smaller the further along she was in the pregnancy. As he had investigated more into such an action, he had realized that the reason for the smaller offers were due to the majority of it going to their daughter.

Quietly, he had wondered if she knew what it was costing her to keep him in her life.

Much like in most fairytales, on their daughters sixteen birthday, everything changed.

A hanyou had made it to the village on day of turning. Yet, when he had turned back, something had triggered him to lose all control. Trying to save the villagers, the surrounding areas called for any help that they could receive.

Not thinking twice, Mitsuki had volunteered.

'Everything will be fine.' He had told himself.

Yet, it wasn't.

When she had returned, her hair was matted, face pale and her garments covered in blood.

Shocked from such a sight and unable to speak, she had decided to speak the first words.

"Both of you will be in danger. I will need all my Reiki to recover."

If possible, his face had turned even paler.

She had known.

This whole time.

Nodding grimly, he waited for her to continue—to explain further.

But she didn't.

Instead, she went inside their home and began packing.

When had she found out? More importantly, what all did she know? Millions of thoughts ran through his head as the dread set in.

Closing his eyes, he realized her unspoken words.

They would have to leave.

"She will be safe…there?"

He hadn't expected it. Both the question and the tremble in her voice broke all resolve that he had.

"Yes." It was the only words he could get out as he watched her struggle with her wound, and noticed that even now, with a wound that could end her life, her reiki still tried to offer itself to him.

"I didn't mean to—" He began but she didn't let him finish. She just nodded.

"I know."

Silence filled their home and both of them stared at each other trying to figure out what to say next.

For a moment, she seemed to consider her words carefully.

"Don't come back."

Just like that, his heart shattered.

Because even as the tears rolled down her face, he knew she meant them.

"Keep her safe."

With those words, she handed him what little would be taken on his journey back.

At sixteen, her life was turned upside down.

In the middle of her archery training, her father had appeared—covered in blood.

When panic set in, he had reassured her. Only to then, in the same breath, shatter her world.

"Your mother was gravely injured. We must leave."

Just like there, there was no further explanation. Instead, he had bowed his thanks to her tutor and yanked her away from her lessons.

For what seemed like hours, she kept quiet with the assumption that they were heading towards her mother.

Yet, as they approached the forest outside of the outer villages, confusion grew.

"Mother is here?" Had her life not been currently spinning in circles of chaos she would have realized how strange such behavior was from her father. Yet, with worry laced in every fiber of her being, she trusted her father as he nodded in haste.

In fact, it wasn't until several hours later that she realized something was not right.

As they stood outside of the forest that they had trekked through and came upon a river, she realized where they now were.

On the outskirts of enemy territory.

As her face paled, she stared at her father for answers.

Instead, he merely set the bag he was carrying on the ground and began rustling through it. After a few minutes, he pulled out a red Yukata and what appeared to be a black cloak lined with fur.

"Change."

For the first time in her life, she heard a demanding tone from her father that he had never been used before.

"But father—"

Instead of being the father she remembered, who would listen to all her concerns and questions, he interrupted her with an angry hiss.

"Your mothers last wish to me was to get you to safety. Change. Now."

Eyes wide, and tears forming with confusion and fear, she nodded numbly.

Within minutes, both were changed and without so much as a second glance, her father threw the bag into the river.

"But we need—"

Once more he interrupted her.

Handing her something from his pockets, he gave her the most intense gave she had ever seen.

"Kagome, listen to me, because this is important. This necklace is all you will need on this journey. Tell me understand."

But she didn't.

She didn't understand anything that was occurring.

Even as he placed a necklace with a pendent that looked like a moon on both her and himself, she couldn't help but try to ask questions.

"I don't understand. A necklace?"

Expecting an explanation, she furrowed her brows when all her father did was nod furiously and lead her towards the bridge that separated territories.

"Come, we must cross over."

Surely, he didn't mean.

But, as she watched him approach the barrier that prevented humans from crossing over into Youkai territory, her world began to spin.

For as he approached enemy territory, he grabbed her hand and without warning, he yanked with strength she didn't know any human to have.

And just like that, her world came crashing down.
