The girls were silent as they made there way to where the Rowdyruff Boys were spotted as fast as they could. Bubbles glanced at Blossom, wondering what could possibly be going through her sister's mind. The girls broke threw through the roof of the building, landing ready to fight. The first thing they noticed was that two of the boys were leaning against opposite walls, not even bothering to look at them. Blossom did a quick circle to check their surroundings.
"Brick's missing. Be on guard." She said returning to her fighting stance.
Bubbles was the first of them to notice exactly where they were.
"Girls, we're in a hospital."
"Yes, Bubbles. We know." Buttercup said annoyed.
"But, we're infront of an active emergency room."
"Bubbles! I don't care! Let's just kick their buts and get the Professor back." Butter cup said as she charged. She didn't make it far before she slammed into a wall of forest green.
"Buttercup, stand down." Blossom ordered.
"What!?"
"Think. We're at a hospital, infront of and active emergency room. Brick isn't here and they brought the Professor here."
It took a few moments before the gears in her head started to move past her anger. When she realised what was actually going on, she backed away. Once she was back to her original position, the green wall faded away.
While the five of them were waiting, Bubbles got a good look at the boys standing infront of them. They were both about a head taller then them, give or take an inch. The clothes they were wearing were well-worn and dirty. They seemed to have remnants of various logos, but none that Bubbles recognised. Blossom would probably know, but she didn't think that this was the time to bring up that question.
As she was looking at her sister, Bubbles noticed something at the corner of her eye. There were three hiking backpacks on the ground behind them. One red, one blue and one green. The boys must have dropped them there when they brought Brick and the Professor here.
The boys were focused on the emergency room, so Bubbles decided to silently float over to check out the bags. As she was reaching for the bags, a small blue energy beam struck her hand, causing her to recoil it back.
"What was that for?" Buttercup growled.
"She was trying to go through our stuff." Boomer said as he calmly walked past Buttercup.
When he reached the bags, he tossed Butch's bag over to him and picked up the reaining two. He returned to his previous spot without even bothering to look at Buttercup as she got into a fighting stance as he passed her. Buttercup got even angrier at that, but it was Blossom's face that caught Bubbles' attention. She was shocked and it took her a moment before returning to her poker face that she wears when the are working.
Suddenly, their phones rang again. Again, it was their hotline.
"Again? What is with today?' Buttercup said.
"Yes Mayor?" Blossom answered, "No, the Rowdyruff Boys aren't doing anything...A monster attack?...I understand. Bubbles, continue to watch them. Buttercup, you're with me."
The two of them took off before Bubbles had the chancec to protest the order. Bubbles wasn't comfortable being alone with these two, but luckily their attention was on the emergency room. She took out her phone and pulled up the PPG Bttle app. It was an app that someone created so the people could watch the girls battle live, from a safe distance.
As Bubbles watched the battle, she noticed that her sisters were actuall having a hard time with the monster. The omnster was a giant crab like creature with a squid's lower half. Bubbles heard a "Hmm." from over her shoulder. She turned to see Boomers face right next to her's, looking at her phone.
'He's close. Very close. Too close.' Bubbles thought to herself
"Pathetic." She heard Butch say right before he took off.
Bubbles was about to go after him, but hesitated because Boomer had returned to his original position.
"Don't worry. He won't do anything to your sisters. He just needs to blow off some steam." Boomer said
Bubbles heard noises from her phone and took a look at what was going on in the battle. The monster was attacking frantically, while her sisters were on the defensive. Suddenly, a forest green streak of light broke the monster's arms and launched it high into the sky. She could see Butch floating near the tops of the buildings. He fired a green beam out of his hand to the monster above him. When the beam hit the monster, it grew brighter and made it difficult to see what was going on.
When the light eventually cleared, both Butch and the Monster were gone. Moments later, he landed infront of Bubbles and returned to where he was before.
"Feeling better?" Boomer asked.
Butch just grunted in response. A few moments after that, Bubbles sisters returned as well.
"Bubbles, what happened? You were supposed to watch them." Blossom asked.
"I tried, but they split up. He had already made it there while I was trying to decide if I should go after him." Bubbles answered.
Buttercup wasn't paying attention to their conversation, instead she was glaring at her counterpart. Blossom decided that they would continue to monitor the boys until at least the Professor came out. As the time moved into hours, bubbles could tell the spending time in the same room as Butch was getting to Buttercup. Even if they hadn't said anything to each other.
About two and a half hours after they initially arrived, the doors to the emergency room opened up and the Professor came out. He didn't seem surprised to see the girls or Butch and Boomer stepping up to him.
"Brick is stable. All that's left is to let him rest and heal on his own.." he said to them.
The boys stepped back and the girls stepped forward.
"Professor, are you alright?" They asked as they maneuvered him behind them.
Once he was out of the way, Buttercup tried to charge at the boys, but was stopped by the Professor, "Buttercup, no!"
"But Professor."
"Not here. The boys als gave me their word that they wouldn't do anything."
"Their word doesn't mean anything."
"Ouch. Oh, right." Bubbles heard from the boys on the other side.
She watched as Boomer began digging around his bag for something. Once he found it, he tossed it over to the girls. Buttercup was about to destroy it, but Bubbles recognised what it was and grabbed it out of the air before she could. She held up the item for her family to see, a roll of camera film.
Everyone moved out of the way as the doctors and nurses wheeled Brick out of the emergency room. Bubbles couldn't see too much of that happened to him because a sheet was over hime, only allowing his head to be seen. Butch and Boomer followed after them, thanking the Professor as the passed.
"Lets head home." The Professor said.
