Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Spartan and the Legionary. Enjoy the 1500-word chapter. I don't own RWBY or Halo. Monty Oum, Microsoft, 343 and Rooster Teeth do.
General Ironwood looked up to see the 'Spartan' He was at least 4 inches taller than him. The spartan still grasped his gun, something that showed he didn't trust the Atlesians.
"You must be Leo." Ironwood said as he walked around his desk.
"And I'm guessing your 'General Ironwood'." Leo said, grasping his gun tighter. "And people joke about my name…" Leo muttered as Winter glared at the looming soldier.
"You're not a machine, correct?" Ironwood asked as the spartan inclined his head towards the General. "Everything about the 'spartan' project is classified, isn't it?" Ironwood questioned before Leo cleared his throat.
"I can tell you their super soldiers where I come from." Leo responded and gestured to his armor. "Second gen armor, forth gen Spartans… Everything else? You're going to have to ask the Gambit's captain. I'm not supposed to tell others about the Supersoldier project that everyone wants… Kinda important." Leo said while Winter leveled her blade at him.
"Do all Spartans show a lack of disrespect to military commanders?" Winter asked and watched Leo turn his head.
"Do you trust the 7ft Supersoldier who you watched gut a tank?" Leo questioned Winter who said nothing. "I don't know where the hell I am, you don't know who I am… And with all due respect, sir? I'm not inclined to trust people who point guns at me… I wouldn't expect Specialist Schnee to after I almost shot her." Leo said while gesturing to Winter who stood next to him.
"Then how about I ask a series of questions?" Ironwood asked, folding his arms behind him. "Answer them, and I'll tell you what I can." Ironwood said which was greeted by a shrug.
"You called those creatures you fought 'covenant'." Ironwood said while gesturing to the screen. "What are they? Soldiers? Pirates? Raiders?" Ironwood questioned as Leo hummed.
"Genocidal aliens who want to exterminate humanity." Leo responded and cracked his neck. "The UNSC and them had a war 4 years back… They killed billions of humans, then it splintered after a civil war. The top brass classified these as terrorists… Their basically insane religious aliens who kill humans on sight." Leo stated while Winter hummed.
"You called yourself a Supersoldier." Ironwood said as he walked around his desk. "Your telling me theres 3 other generations of them?" Ironwood asked and got a nod.
"What I can tell you?" Leo asked before clearing his throat. "Best soldiers in the UNSC, Spartans are the only reason the UNSC was beating the covenant." Leo said while continuing to hold his SAW ready.
He was glad one of the marines had returned his M11 knife to him before he left. It made him chuckle for a moment.
"Last question." Ironwood said and took his seat. "This 'UNSC', it's the military wherever you come from?" Ironwood asked, his brows narrowing as he tented his fingers.
"Since it doesn't break any real rules?" Leo asked before nodding. "United Nations Space Command. Spartans are a new branch; we were on mission at the moment…" Leo stated and straightened up fully.
Ironwood said nothing before Leo slowly walked forward, the 2 soldiers behind him raised their guns at him. He didn't spare them a glance, knowing he could dispatch them both if needed.
"My turn." Leo said and turned his armored head to the Atlesian General. "Where are we? What is the Atlesian Military? And what the hell is going on?" Leo questioned which got Winter and the soldiers to aim at him.
Ironwood tented his fingers together before looking up at him with interest. Ironwood thought of everything that could happen, would happen at the moment…. Yes, Ironwood would ponder what would happen at the moment.
He decided to appeal to the soldier at the moment. Get them to trust him so he could get a handle on the situation.
"This is Atlas." Ironwood said while looking at the armored warrior. "The capital city of Solitas on the planet Remnant. The Atlesian military is this kingdom's military." Ironwood stated which caused him to nod.
"Then this isn't Requiem." Leo said and shook his head. "Damnit, I got to tell the Gambit." Leo muttered and turned to leave as Winter and the soldiers barred his way. "Unless you'd like to see what a spartan can do? I'm leaving, I have a report to make…" Leo started to say before Ironwood held up his hand.
"Winter, you're not intimidating him and he's just as dangerous as you are." Ironwood said before standing up. "We're not your enemies, Leo… Everyone in this room is on the same side. Humanity's shield and sword." Ironwood said as he looked at Leo.
"Then let me inform the UNSC." Leo responded and lowered his gun. "You want to talk to someone? Talk to the Gambit's captain… I have to find whatever the hell sent us here, make sure it's not effecting…" Leo started to say before another alarm went off.
"General, another portal appearing over Mantle!" Ironwood heard before another Slipspace portal appeared.
What came through was enough to make Leo speechless, the one ship he wanted to talk with.
Ironwood watched a 5-kilometer-long vessel emerged from the portal, electricity sparking over it as the shields probably came online.
"The Infinity?" Leo asked as he almost dropped his gun at the moment. "How the hell…? Damn, that relic has to be stopped." Leo muttered as Ironwood observed the vessel.
This UNSC was far more powerful then he assumed. They were clearly capable of engaging in warfare with almost anyone. That ship looked capable of battling the entire Atlesian fleet singlehandedly at the moment.
"What is that ship?" Ironwood asked as he turned to look at Leo who was in silence at the moment.
"The Infinity, the UNSC's best ship in the fleet." Leo responded as he walked up to the window. "It isn't at Requiem now… Damn, what the hell is it doing here?" Leo asked and shook his head with annoyance.
"General, should we scramble air units?" Ironwood heard from his communicator.
"If the UNSC is slowly coming here?" Leo asked while he looked at Ironwood at the moment. "Then we have things to do… That's the flagship of the UNSC and it's here. That means that the UNSC is going to lose the fight on Requiem, damn it." Leo muttered and blinked to look at Ironwood.
Now things were going to be far more interesting. The UNSC was slowly coming to Remnant? That meant pretty much that they had more things to discuss at the moment.
"You want to ask questions?" Leo asked while he pointed at the Infinity. "That will be where you should ask them… That's where the UNSC's power is." Leo stated and finally put his gun onto his back.
He knew for a fact that there would be plenty of questions on the moment. He knew for a fact that more random things would be coming down the ramp sooner or later. Yes, he knew that.
"Winter?" Ironwood asked while looking at the specialist. "Let him return to his ship. We have things to discuss… And make sure their home at Mantle or Atlas, wherever they stay." Ironwood ordered, already curious about what would happen next at the moment.
Ironwood crossed his arms, interested in how the UNSC had a 5-kilometer-long warship. It easily put Atlas on the backfoot… If they needed a vessel that large? That capable of destruction?
Then he had plenty to focus on… Now he wanted to know what this UNSC was…
"I'm sure your going to want to talk to Captain Lasky?" Leo asked and started towards the door, curious as to what would happen next.
"If he's willing to come to the table, then yes." Ironwood responded. "Tell him I want to discuss what I told you." Ironwood said as Leo nodded and left the room.
"Your going to let them settle in Atlas?" Winter asked as Ironwood held up his hand.
"I'm going to figure out what the 'Infinity' is." Ironwood stated, gazing at the massive warship. "If it can help fight… Her? I think we might have just found our silver bullet." Ironwood added, raising an eyebrow at this.
He turned and keyed the intercom. He had several calls to make at the moment… All ones that planned to change the course of Remnant sooner or later.
Perhaps end the war sooner… And without bloodshed.
