Chapter 3

When Adam and Rebecca came back in Pa was sitting in his chair smoking his pipe and reading the paper. Hoss and Joe were playing checkers and Hoss was loosing miserably.

"Hello family. Well Pa, I have my answer for you."

"And what is it son?"

"We will leave Monday morning to go and do that job for you."

"WE? Hey big brother, neither of us can go with you. We have a ton of work to do around here."

"I am not asking you to little brother."

"Then what's this WE? Oh! You mean, you two?"

"Yes, Rebecca and I are going to make a camping trip out of it. We are heading out Monday morning. First tomorrow we are going to town to get her everything she needs for this kind of trip."

"Well son, I think that is a wonderful idea. You two should have a good time together."

"Oh yes Pa, I know we will."

"Well, I think my wife and I are going to go up to bed now. So good night every one."

"Good night son."

"Good night Adam, Rebecca."

Once in their room they wasted no time getting each other undressed. Adam unbuttoned Rebecca's dress and she just as fast unbuttoned his shirt, her dress dropped to the floor and his shirt got thrown over the chair. While he helped her with her chemise she unbuckled his belt and jeans and they dropped to the floor while Rebecca quickly took the rest of her clothes off and Adam picked her up and put her on the bed and the kisses began as well as the touches and intimate love making together. These seemed to be one of Rebecca's best moments of her day after that first time in their marriage bed. She couldn't get enough of Adam and longed for his kisses and touches every minute of every day. She knew that she had totally changed from before marrying Adam, and she liked herself a lot better this way. She knew she was deeply loved by Adam and by his family.

"Rebecca, do you realize that you are the best thing that has ever happened to me."

"Adam, you don't have any regrets?"

"Of course not Rebecca. I love you more than life itself. And now you are first in my life."

"Thank you Adam. I feel the same about you. I just melt in your arms. And I always feel like I can't get enough of you."

"Any time you want me sweetheart, I'm yours."

"Oh thank you my love."

"Now, we should get some sleep OK."

"Yes, just hold me in your arms please and I will snuggle into you."

"Not a problem."

Rebecca woke up first this morning and looked up at Adam sleeping. She noticed what long eyelashes he had and then started to look over the rest of his masculine body..."Oh Adam, you're so gorgeous."...she whispered to herself. Then she kissed him on his chest and then his lips.

"Mm, are you trying to seduce me my lady?"

"Hah, hah, it was a thought."

"Well, you're doing a real fine job."

"Oh wonderful." Rebecca kept kissing his chest and his lips, eyes, forehead, cheek, and back to his chest and started playing with his chest hair. Adam opened his eyes.

"OK, you have had it now women."

"Oh no, Oh I'm sorry Adam."

"To late. I am going to make wild passionate love to you now. So you better be ready."

"Oh I'm always ready my dear Adam."

"Well then here it comes."

After an hour of fierce intense love making Adam and Rebecca were pleasantly contented and ready to get up and get ready for breakfast and then go to town and get those clothes and other things Rebecca needs for their camping trip.

"Well good morning you two."

"Good morning Pa."

"Oh good morning Papa."

"Good morning Rebecca. So you're going shopping today for some new clothes for your camping trip."

"Yes, oh I'm so excited to be doing this with Adam."

"You know Adam, we still have that army tent up in the loft if you would like to take that. It might be a bit warmer than just the tarps."

"Yes maybe. It might be safer also."

"I think I would like that better Adam. Especially if we get some snow."

"OK my beautiful wife, your wish is my command. I'll get it down after we get back from town."

"Oh Adam, could you pick up these few things for me while you're in town?"

"Of course Pa. Well sweetheart, are you ready to go?"

"Yes Adam, I think so."

"OK, see all of you this afternoon sometime."

"Good bye son."

While driving into Virginia City in the surrey, Adam and Rebecca talked of what their life was going to be like and they also went by their new home where some of the ranch hands were working on it.

"Well it looks like there isn't to much more to be done on it."

"Yes Adam, when do you think we can move in?"

"Well every thing we purchased in San Francisco should be here when we get back. So after it gets all put into place we can move in then."

"Oh Adam, our own home. I can hardly wait."

"Yes, neither can I. Well, we better get to town."

"OK sweetheart, it looks like Cass's store is open. Would you like to go there first?'

"Oh yes, I would love to see Sally again."

"You two have become very good friends haven't you?"

"Yes we have Adam."

"That good. It's good you're making friends ."

"It's not just Sally I've become friends with Adam. I have been getting visits from Alice, Cassy, and Vivian."

"Oh you have."

"Yes, well they just come out for short visits."

"OK, here we are."..."Come on sweetheart, let's go shopping."

"Hello Adam, Rebecca. What can I do for you folks today?'

"Well Mr. Cass, we need some outfits for a camping trip for Rebecca. All she has are dresses and skirts."

"Oh alright then. Why don't I just get Sally to help you with that Mrs. Cartwright."

"Oh wonderful, she is here."

"Yes, I'll just go and get her."

"Oh Adam, look at this."

"Very nice. Would you like that?'

"Adam, where would I wear it at?'

"Rebecca we will be going to quite a lot of dances and parties in our near future."

"Oh well then, yes it is very pretty."

"OK then, it's yours."

"Hello Rebecca. It's so nice to see you. How was your honeymoon?'

"It was just wonderful Sally."

"Wonderful, so how can I help you?'

"Oh Adam and I are going on a camping trip in the high sierras and all I have is dresses and skirts and we're riding our horses, so I guess I need some riding skirts and jeans and shirts and whatever else is needed for this type of thing."

"OK Rebecca, how long will you be gone?'

"Adam says at least four to five days."

"OK come back here with me. It looks like my father and Adam are busy with something else."

"OK my friend, here is some riding skirts. What do you think? They are Swede and come in these colours."

"Sally they are wonderful. Oh, I like them all."

"So get all four of them. And a couple pair of jeans. There right over here."

"OK, I have just never worn any thing like this before. I guess I should get about two of those."

"Great, now some shirts to go with all of these. Right here. Pick out a few."

"Oh my lets see, oh I like these."

"So get all of them. Now you need the proper under things for those clothes."

So with every thing picked out for her new wardrobe Sally and Rebecca went out to the front counter where Adam and Mr. Cass were finishing up Pa's order.

"Oh there you are sweetheart. Get everything you need?'

"Yes, Sally was a very big help."

"OK, put all of this on our account."

"While father is doing that, I will wrap all of these up for you. Oh Rebecca, this is a beautiful dress. But I don't think it would be a good choice for a camping trip."

"Hah, hah, no, it wouldn't but it will for dances and parties."

"OK, there you go. Have fun you two."

"We will. Good bye now."

"Good bye you two."
