Chapter three

Clarke had not been able to think about anything else but the commander. All three of them had been shaken up about the events that conspired inside the tower. They had not gotten the tour they had wanted and Raven didn't even get a chance to get any chip of gold. Not that she would try to take any now seeing how the grounder men treated trespassers. Their inn they were staying in they found out Heda's family own. Everyone else lived just inside the gates. Clarke's convention was supposed to take place the following day but she couldn't find the place that her team was meeting. Octavia and Raven had been no help neither as O was obsessed with trying to figure out where the grounder named Lincoln stayed and raven wanted to figure out some kind of project to do while they were out in the middle of the jungle.

She was on her own today. As she tried to brave the map once again she did her best to read the directions. She had a destination in mind but she wasn't sure if she would make it in. People stared as she walked by. Mostly curious she noted. There were people selling goods on the side of the streets. Children played around with little swords and she was shocked to see the swords looked real.

Men looked her up and down which made her uncomfortable but as she was taught back home she couldn't let them see her fear. Before she needed the map she noticed the big tower that seem to come out of nowhere. She looked up amazed still how big the tower actually was.

"Hello?" Clarke whispered before yelling to get anyone's attention. There was no warriors standing where they were the other day. Heda was no where insight nor was Indra or no one. "Hello?" She said one more time before a bald man In a long dark coat stepped out of a room." What are you doing here?"

Clarke swallowed feeling like she had probably should have knocked before just coming in a tower such as this. Besides this was their Commanders tower. "Is Heda here?" Clarke asked." I was here the other day and I was just making sure she was alright."

Titus knew exactly who this blonde haired stranger Lexa wouldn't stop talking about was. She was trouble. Titus had tried to talk some sense into his leader but this time he could see it was no good. He would have to deal with the issue.

"Clarke is it?" Clarke nodded amused he knew her name." Heda is strong. She is always fine. She is busy if you understand. She always has to be on high alert incase another clan attacks. She doesn't need any outside distractions. You get what I'm trying to say to you. I am here to make sure she rules with a straight head."

Clarke was more than angry with what the man was accusing her of she was pissed and wasn't hiding it neither. Who was this man? She just was concerned with the Queen's welfare he should have been pleased not interrogating her with these allegations. Yes she felt something for the brunette. Anyone with eyes could see she was gorgeous. Did he hear something about her from someone? She didn't know anyone here but her two friends. Before she could give him a piece of her mind Lincoln appeared in her sight. He looked at the pair curious to why they were speaking. These outsiders were everywhere it seemed.

"Lincoln?" Clarke took the last couple steps to be standing closer to the bigger grounder she felt more

Comfortable with since their first encounter." Clarke?" Lincoln said before looking at the older man. The two had a quiet conversation for a split second that didn't go unnoticed by her before the older man excused himself and disappeared from their sight.

"Are you ok Clarke?" He struggled to say in English but Clarke understood him perfectly. She nodded." I don't think he's a big fan of mine." Clarke watched the perplexed emotion in the mans eyes. They didn't really know a lot of sarcasm around here. "He doesn't like me around Heda." Lincoln nodded. "He is her advisor. He protects her legacy." Lincoln explained.

Lincoln escorted me to the path that led me out of the city. " My friend O has been searching for you." Lincoln pointed to his chest. "Yes if you happen to be around our side please do visit."

I could tell he wanted to see her too by the look in his eyes. Before I let him go I told him to tell Heda hi from me. "Sha Clarke!" I gathered sha had to mean yes in grounder.

Raven and octavia were laying out in the sun on the hotel sheets that I am sure we're going to cost me." Come join us Clarke." I couldn't argue I needed some sun and relaxing after today. "Anything new you two?"Raven was the one to fill her friend in to what was going on. They were Invited to a grounders party. O and her had heard Lincoln would be there as well as Heda herself. After her conversation with the old man she rather just stay away from the woman but something told her to do the opposite. She liked the commander and she could tell that the commander had not minded her before everything that went on. Plus she helped to save the commander and that had to count for something even if it wasn't with her visor.

"Thank you for coming." Ryder and another grounder named Eirik greeted the trio. "Thank you for having us." Octavia said looking around to see if she could see the one she was truly here for. I laughed shaking my head at the two men almost drooling over the brunette that wasn't paying no mine to the two. Raven had found her way to food. A roasted pig over a fire with all the fixings on the table." Do we just help ourselves?" She asked a woman that looked her age. The woman didn't have a clue what she was saying. Raven nodded then went to a child that looked no older than eight but in some ways older than any of them

Here. They're was a group of children not socializing with the rest but was observing the party. He looked as he belong with them.

"Hello?" Raven tried her luck. "Hello." The boy greeted back with no emotion. "Good, you know English. Not everyone here does. Do you know if we just help ourselves with food?" The kid didn't smile but there was a twinkle in his eye that told raven he wanted to laugh." Yes help yourselves outsider."

Raven frowned." Ok kid I don't want any trouble so could we just not say 'outsider' around others that could chop my head off." The kid emotionless nodded." What kind of kid are you?" Raven huffed finding the young adult in the kid annoying." I'm a Youngblood. I am in training."

Raven frowned." For war?" The kid gave her no indication she was right or wrong." To be the next Heda. When she dies the spirit will find one of us and we will be the next Heda."The kid turned to the table and started picking up food so Raven followed his lead.." You're smart kid but very creepy."

Clarke searched and searched but she couldn't find whom she had been hoping to see all night. She had helped Octavia find Lincoln the two after awkward conversation went off with one another and left Clarke searching once again. She had passed Raven and what look like a child but warrior at the same time at the food table.

Almost giving up and going to grab some food Clarke turned around to get a shock of her life there in a red royal dress and not warrior suit was the commander. Her dark green eyes shined tonight as they landed on hers. Clarke gasped how gorgeous the woman looked.

"Hello Klarke!"

Clarke couldn't breathe as she tried to form some kind of sentence that was understandable she was taken back." Hello commander." Clarke managed to say.

"How are you liking our gathering?"

Clarke couldn't admit out loud that she had been searching for the commander the whole time and hadn't even noticed really any of the festivities. "It's good." The commander nodded." Good it's for you." Clarke's eyes widened." What?"

"By the way call me Lexa." Lexa was inches from her face now she could see the blonde sweating. "Lexa? Why is this gathering for me?"

Lexa showed Clarke her arm." You saved me Clarke. I wanted to tell Nyko you could save me

But he is the best healer here. I thank you with this feast. I went to the hotel but you were gone they said. Indra had spotted you three tonight so we followed."

Clarke was shocked. "You don't have to thank me. I am a doctor."

Lexa shook her head." I thank you with my whole life I am here today because of your bravery. I want to get to know you Clarke."

Clarke remembered the old mans warning but she didn't know him and he didn't know her. He had no right to be so mean to her.

"I want to get to know you too. Shall we go eat."

Lexa followed Clarke although the blonde was sure it was supposed to be the other way around.
