MEET BEN. SON OF THE BEAST AND BELLE. PRETTY EYES, KILLER MANE. YOU CAN SEE THE RESEMBLANCE. ANYWAY, BEN STARTED THE WHOLE THING WITH HIS BIG IDEA ONE DAY...

In the quiet, peaceful kingdom of Auradon, in the castle of Beauty and the Beast, their son, Ben, kept gazing out the window. The young prince stood on a wooden platform while he was being fitted for a suit for his upcoming coronation.

His best friend, Prince Adrian, son of Aurora (aka Sleeping Beauty) and Prince Philip, stood on another platform next to him, also being fitted. Both boys, however, were far from thinking about the coronation as they stared out the window into the distance at the Isle of the Lost.

He was thinking about how the island is connected to the first proclamation he was going to make as King. Ben stood on the platform, contemplating the decision that he had made with Ian as his future Advisor.

Even from way across the sparkling blue sea, Ben could see the magical barrier flickering and shimmering over the Isle of the Lost. It was so pretty, that far-off isle of exiled prisoners…but they couldn't help feeling sad at the sight of it.

The royal tailor was fitting Ben into his blue coronation suit, jotting Ben's measurements down on a notepad. While he was getting his suit measurements, he and Ian were continuously getting distracted, looking out the window at the Isle of the Lost to focus on what was happening around them. He lifted his arm and turned his head from where he had been looking at the Isle again, forcing him to look straight ahead as he measured him for his crown. He quickly turned his head again to look out the window when his parents, Belle and Beast, strolled into the room.

"Sleeve...head...ah!" The tailor muttered as Ben kept fidgeting on the small platform.

"How is it possible that you're going to be crowned king next month? And Ian as the Advisor?" Ben's father Adam, the current King, blinking his blue eyes behind black bold-frame glasses. The gold crown atop his head glittered. Soon it would be passed on to Ben. "You're both just babies," he said.

"They're turning 16 and 17, dear," said Belle, looking lovely in her yellow dress.

"Hey, Pops." Ben greeted.

"Hello, Your Majesties." Ian greeted with a slight bow, not being able to move much because of the tailor.

"Sixteen? Seventeen?" said Beast, taking off his glasses. "That's far too young to be crowned king. I didn't make a good decision until I was at least…forty-two." He smiled and tucked his glasses into his jacket pocket.

Belle faced him. "Uh, you decided to marry me at twenty-eight," she said as she spoke with an offended tone, putting some clothes on her son's bed.

"It was either you or a teapot," said Beast as he winked at Ben. Ben chuckled at his father's joke before he saw the look on her face before chuckling. "Kidding," said Beast, his eyebrows dancing.

"Mom, Dad..." Ben started, attempting to walk off the platform before he was stopped by the tailor.

"Ah! Nn-nnh!" The tailor muttered, causing Ben to step back into his original position, standing up straight.

"I've chosen my first official proclamation." Beast and Belle looked at each other and smiled.

"Ian and I've decided that the children on the Isle of the Lost should be given a chance to live here in Auradon." The moment those words left his mouth, everyone in the room had gone silent, Belle also dropping the coat she had been holding. His parents gawked at him, wide-eyed. They had basically turned pale as the heard our decision. The tailor, sensing the sudden tension, sat down.

"Every time one of us looks out to the island," Ben said, gesturing toward the isle out the window. He stepped off the platform, frustrating the tailor. "We feel like they've been abandoned."

"The children of our sworn enemies?" said Beast with much skepticism. "Living among us?"

"I know it may come as a shock to you..." Ian said, stepping off of his platform. "...but you must also take into consideration that it was not the children who committed the acts. They're over there serving a life sentence for something they never did."

"And we start out with a few at first—only ones who need our help the most," said Ben as his parents listened, his mother more attentively. "We've already chosen them."

"Have you?" said Beast, his eyebrows furrowing.

Belle placed a hand on Beast's arm. "I gave you a second chance," she said. She looked at Ben. "Who are their parents?"

"Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Evil Queen….." Ben took a breath. "Hades and Maleficent." As soon as he said the last names, things nearly went downhill from there. His parents and the tailor gasped and dropped his notepad at the prince's words.

"Maleficent? Hades?" shouted Beast, completely shocked by his son's decision. "They are the worst villains in the land!"

"Dad, just hear me out here!" said Ben.

"How could you possibly support this decision, Adrian? Bringing the child of Maleficent here? The woman who cursed your mother?"

"As Ben's upcoming Advisor, I must assist him in making these kinds of decisions. And bringing Maleficent's daughter here to Auradon was actually my idea. Because I know her daughter is not who people think she is. Just because she's Maleficent's daughter doesn't mean that she will be the same way as her."

"Those people on that island are there for a reason. They should not be allowed out for any reason."

"Please, just hear us out here..." Ian tried to reason before he was interrupted.

"I won't hear of it!" said Beast, shaking his finger. "They are guilty of unspeakable crimes!" Butlers opened the door and the tailor slunk quietly out of the room.

"Yeah, Dad. But what did those kids do? What kind of crime could they have possibly committed? Nothing. Other than being born on that island." Ben exclaimed.

"Those children have been influenced by evil their entire lives. Who's to say they won't be anything but evil?"

"And who's to say that they can't change?" Ben asked.

"All you are doing is putting the entire kindom in jeopardy."

"But, Dad, their children are innocent," Ben exclaimed, frustrated. "Don't you think they deserve a shot at a normal life?" Ben asked.

"Ben..." Beast said as Belle looked at him in a believing way. Beast stared long and hard at his son.

"Dad," said Ben, giving him a pleading look.

Beast looked at Belle and finally gave in, saying, "I suppose the children are innocent."

"Well...Well done boys." Belle said as she fixed Ben's blazer as Beast began to walk away. "Shall we?" The monarchs joined arms and left their son's room, both boys breathing out a sigh of relief.

"That still went better than I expected." Ian said, causing them both to chuckle. As they looked out the window again, they fiddled with their jewelry, hoping this all works out with bringing the kids to Auradon.

"I just hope this all works out." Ben said.

HA!

AND THERE IT IS.

SUCKERS!
