ACE ATTORNEY: THE FAZBEAR TURNABOUTS
The Disappearing Turnabout: Beginning Investigation
Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria: Outside
November 12th, 2019
10:15 AM
Edgeworth and Gumshoe had taken the prosecutor's shiny and glistening red sports car over to the restaurant which was about 15 minutes from where the prosecutor's office is. The young prodigy pulled up to the pizzeria which was a small building in comparison to other restaurants that were much bigger or blending in with grocery stores and hair salons. It had the logo on top which was a neon lights sign with a brown bear wearing a black top hat and black bow tie up front holding a microphone. Behind him, there was a purple bunny with a red bowtie strumming his guitar and a yellow chicken with a white bib that said "Let's Eat!" on the front holding a white plate with a pink-frosted cupcake with a single candle burning on top. To the bear's right, a red fox with an eyepatch over one of his eyes and a hook on one of his claws outstretched his hook hand into the air.
"Man, I haven't been to this place in over so many years. I came to the first redesign when it was popular back in the 80's," Gumshoe explained.
"With a company accused of so much scandals, I hardly would think somewhere like this would stay in business," Edgeworth stated as he locked his car up.
"They had to move to a smaller location following the incidents that happened back then and even though the budget hasn't been the best, they seem to have stayed fully busy," Gumshoe explained.
(For their sake, they better hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel for them after this murder. With a small building, there shouldn't be too many hiding places for a body to be stuck in,) Edgeworth thought as he crossed his arms.
A man with short brown hair wearing a beige business jacket over a white dress shirt with grey slacks and brown dress shoes saw the two muddling outside the restaurant as he pushed his glasses up exiting from behind the glass door.
"Oh, thank goodness! You both must be the ones I called to come in and help," The brown-haired man stated.
"That's correct, sir. I'm Miles Edgeworth and this is Detective Richard Gumshoe, the one who is supposed to be leading the investigation," Edgeworth greeted with a firm shake of the business man's right hand with his left. "What might your name be?"
"My name is Peter Twinkle and I'm the owner of this specific restaurant in the chain," Peter replied as he stood up straight with his hands behind his back.
"Would you care to tell me exactly what happened when you reported the crime?" Edgeworth asked politely as he pointed at the business owner.
"Alright. I have given lengthy statements already to the police, but I can always repeat and review so my facts are straight. Our normal night guard who is on duty from midnight to 6AM is usually supposed to make sure nothing goes missing during the night or anyone tries breaking in. He locks up the place with a spare set of keys given to him and I come in around 9 AM to open the place up with staff arriving at 9:30 for preparations. However, I hadn't heard from the night guard as they usually text my number to tell me how the night went," Peter explained as he cleaned his glasses off.
"Are you sure they did not leave in the middle of the night? Maybe they had an emergency to tend to and did not inform you," Edgeworth asked as he pointed at the manager.
"Well, I thought maybe they had fallen asleep in the office so I headed back there to wake them up and found a pile of blood on the floor. It was dry, but it still stained the floor and was transparent enough to make out. There was even blood on the chair," Peter replied.
(Well, that matches up with what the detective told me earlier. Just where would the perpetrator have hid the body?) Edgeworth thought.
Missing Body added to Logic
"Did you happen to notice anything else out of the ordinary?" Edgeworth asked.
"No, I was too concerned with calling the police and sent a quick email to all staff that the restaurant would be closed for the day," Peter replied.
(One thing for sure is that the security office is the main crime scene for this case despite the body's disappearance. All I need to do is search there for more clues.) Edgeworth thought as he crossed his arms.
"Mr. Twinkle, may I borrow a spare set of keys just in case I decide to explore anything further?" Edgeworth requested.
"Of course, I just hope you can figure out what happened to poor Fritz. He was a very dedicated employee to the establishment and someone I could count on," Peter explained as he stuck his hands in his pockets and dug out a silver key ring with five keys around it handing them over to Edgeworth.
Spare Keys added to the Court Record
"Would you kindly lead the way in, Mr. Twinkle?" Edgeworth asked.
"Right this way, gentlemen," Peter replied as all three started heading up to the small restaurant as Peter opened the front door for his visitors.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria: Dining Area
November 12th, 2019
11:20 AM
Peter, Edgeworth, and Gumshoe entered the small building seeing the inside of the dining hall was very dark despite the sunlight seeping in through the windows. There was a total of six long tables with white cloths covering them and about five party hats with colorful stripes over the plastic all located in rows on the tables. The floor was a grey marble color with the walls being the same color with a checkered line divider fashioned with a red trim. Up on the show stage stood the three main animatronics of Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, and Chica the Chicken standing still since the place would not be open and on the right side of the establishment is a purple curtain with stars designed all over it covering a place called Pirate's Cove where Foxy the Pirate Fox resided, but a sign was placed in front of the Cove indicating everything was out of order there. Officers could be seen investigating the main area either in the dining room or going down one of two hallways to gain more ground.
"We are currently on a tight budget so we had a simple design made for the restaurant. We are planning new decorations for the upcoming fall season," Peter stated.
"It looks just like when I was kid, but it feels much more lifelike," Gumshoe stated.
"We pride ourselves on continuing the Fazbear legacy, but with this recent murder, I'm afraid of losing this place when I just want to help entertain kids," Peter added.
"I wouldn't say your job is in jeopardy, but you might have to close for a few weeks," Edgeworth stated.
"The last time a Fazbear pizzeria had to close down, it never opened back up," Peter explained.
(I can only imagine the trouble of starting this place up again knowing the bad history surrounding it. The only known incidents that shut down any major establishments were the Missing Children Incident and a very faint incident back in 1987 where an animatronic ate the frontal lobe of an innocent victim.) Edgeworth thought.
"This can't be…," A very faint female voice with a German accent stated.
The trio saw a short blue-haired woman come up wearing a dark green dress with a yellow trim with flaps connected with blue pins. Her sleeves had big puffs at one end and they had two small blue squares on each side of the cuffs at the other end along with navy blue gloves on her hands. She had a white bow above her dress with a blue pendent centered in the middle of the accessory. Her last articles of clothing were brown pantyhose stockings and navy blue high-heeled boots along with a curled up whip she carried in her right hand.
"Fancy meeting you here, Franziska," Edgeworth stated as he crossed his arms seeing his younger adoptive sister.
"Miles Edgeworth…I didn't think I see you here on such short notice, but even those foolish thoughts tend to make me wonder when you will show up to steal my spotlight," Franziska stated as she glared at her brother.
"Well, someone has to keep you in check," Edgeworth teased as he smirked and chuckled to himself.
*SLAP*
"OWWWWWW!" Edgeworth recoiled as he covered his body as Franziska rolled up her whip after using it.
"I'm not a child and I'm perfectly capable of handling myself," Franziska stated.
"In any case….I'm here about the murder that went down in the security office. Would you mind if I took a look around to investigate?" Edgeworth asked as he pointed at his sister.
"I'm afraid you aren't going to be sticking your foolish nose where it absolutely does not belong. I have already filed paperwork to become the prosecutor for this case and I won't have your grubby hands getting into my business," Franziska explained as she tightened her grip on her whip.
"But, Ms. Von Karma, this is a team effort!" Gumshoe pleaded.
*SLAP*
*SLAP*
*SLAP*
"YOUCH!" Gumshoe exclaimed as Franziska whipped his body three times to make it really hurt.
"Consider that your punishment for being late, Scruffy. It is a team effort so you better get back to that office and get to work with your foolish colleagues," Franziska warned as she jabbed a thumb towards the crime scene.
Detective Gumshoe rubbed his arm frowning as he said his last goodbyes to his superior and started making his way down the left hallway only after another whip crack got him in the behind. Gumshoe made a run for it as he scurried as fast as he could down the hallway.
"I can't believe I'm more of a babysitter than a boss to that imbecile," Franziska muttered as Peter had to back up not wanting the wrath of the female prodigy.
"So, you're banning me from the crime scene, because you feel you have superiority over me as well?" Edgeworth asked.
"You won't steal this moment of glory from me, little brother. I want to be the one to figure this case out on my own merit," Franziska replied.
"You said you learned that some assistance is necessary to find the truth," Edgeworth reminded as he pointed out that fact to her.
"That would mean trusting fools who have no foolish idea what they are foolishly doing. I'm a Von Karma and I won't have incompetence stale that legacy," Franziska retorted as she cross her arms and closed her eyes.
"Well, I'm not leaving if I can do something to help. Maybe I could ask a few questions on your findings so far. You shouldn't have a problem with that if I ain't in the way," Edgeworth suggested.
"Normally, I would just have the police throw you out, but you as my assistant should be an amusing fact to boast about as an example to the others. Very well, you may ask me your questions," Franziska conceded.
"I'll just be on my way then. I have some important paperwork to catch up on," Peter stated as he decided to head back to his office walking down the right hallway.
"I suppose my first question is what is the nature of the crime scene? What evidence have you found so far?" Edgeworth asked as he pointed at Franziska.
"It's such a small and cramped office. The bloodstains were the first thing we noticed, but they were dry so it's an obvious sign the murder has happened a long time ago, but without the body, an autopsy report will be late on delivery," Franziska stated.
(That's right. The time of the murder will be more difficult without an official autopsy report. I'll need to make a mental note of this in my organizer.) Edgeworth thought.
Exact Time of Murder added to Logic
"We also have found a phone in the office which was used to record messages. It seems the victim was in his last week of work," Franziska added.
"Last week of work? Is there anything else on those messages?" Edgeworth asked.
"Some foolish nonsense of those robots being stuck in a free-roaming mode. I'm not sure if I even believe that," Franziska replied as she pointed to the animatronic band on the stage.
"Free-roaming mode? Why would animatronics have a life of their own?" Edgeworth asked as he crossed his arms.
"Don't mind that fallacy. Must have been keeping himself amused during the night shift," Franziska replied.
(Although, these statements have gathered my interest. I might have to meet with Peter later in order to discuss these matters.) Edgeworth thought as his gaze turned towards the frozen robots that stood in place.

"We also found the tablet with the security cameras on it. I tried asking the manager if there was a way to review footage, but the cameras have had a tendency to delete stored recordings," Franziska explained.
"That must mean the perpetrator could have also lucked out without being caught on camera," Edgeworth added.
Security Cameras added to the Court Record
Deleted Recordings added to Logic
"That's about the extent of our investigation and I'm sure Scruffy will be back with a very detailed update if he wishes his salary to stay above negative numbers," Franziska threatened.
"As always you never cease to amaze me with your motivation tactics," Edgeworth taunted as he crossed his arms.
"Watch that tongue or I'll frail it from that foolish mouth. In any case, I do have one witness that has agreed to testify her account. Make yourself very useful and go fetch her testimony for me," Franziska ordered.
"Who might this secret witness be?" Edgeworth asked.
"The day shift guard. You might ask yourself what her account might be if she wasn't around until this morning, but she actually came in before the manager in order to check over footage and make sure the place was secured throughout the night, but a scary noise scared her off. She only recently came back inside the establishment when the manager arrived," Franziska briefly explained.
(So the day shift guard comes in initially to check over the cameras after the night guard locks things up. It seems Mr. Twinkle wants tight security on this place.) Miles thought.
Tight Security Regulations added to Logic
"Where can this witness be found?" Edgeworth asked with his hands on his hips.
"She went to the restroom after fully checking the cameras for anything. They are down the right hall," Franziska replied as she pointed to the appropriate hallway.
Edgeworth nodded as he started his walk towards his destination and he made sure to mentally remind himself that the security office was off limits for now. He knew Detective Gumshoe would let him investigate anyway, but serious repercussions would be held against him and knowing Franziska, she would be delighted to show him more punishment than he can handle. Besides, he didn't want to press his luck with his adoptive sister more than he had to. He'll get what he can from the day guard and come with a heavy artillery against Franziska.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria: Restrooms

Edgeworthwalked up to the restrooms as knowing the witness is female, he would have to wait for her outside. He leaned against the wall waiting for about 5-10 minutes as the witness was heard washing her hands.
(Some important questions I can ask this witness is what was the noise that scared her off and if she saw anything during her search of the cameras.) Edgeworth thought.
Edgeworth heard footsteps rounding the corner and barely had enough time to react before he was held up against the wall by a frail old woman in a tight bear hug. The woman had short puffy grey hair with three red cotton balls in the front wearing a blue security guard uniform. Edgeworth wheezed as he saw it could only be one person and it was none other than frequent security guard and his admirer, Wendy Oldbag.
"Ooooh, I just knew you would come to my rescue, Edgey!" Wendy exclaimed as she hugged Edgeworth even tighter.
(OUT. OF. EVERYONE. IN. THE. WORLD.) Edgeworth thought as he got released and stood on shaky legs trying not to fall over.
"What brings you to this restaurant? Must be something pretty mysterious if you are on the case," Wendy stated with a cheerful smile.
"Ugh...ugh...wah...nice to see you, too, Ms. Oldbag," Egdeworth greeted as he straightened his suit out.
"Forget the formalities, Edgey. Just feel free to call me Wendy," Wendy stated as she waved off the professional name gesture.
"Alright...Wendy...so I take it your day guard for this pizzeria?" Edgeworth asked.
"That's correct, but this place sure has the lowest budget I have ever seen. I mean, have you seen the status of this place? The walls are nearly falling over and there is leaks from the pipes, I mean, it can't be that hard to call in a plumber. Not to mention, I have to deal with KIDS all stinking day! Those animatronics look like they haven't had the best work done on them in over 20 years and they keep losing their parts to which, of course, I have to end up fixing them!" Wendy rambled as she started getting a little more tense.
"That's quite enough, Ms. Oldbag. I get you don't particularly like this job," Edgeworth stated as he crossed his arms.
"That don't begin to even explain it. A murder happened here on top of all of it," Wendy added as she put her hands on her face.
"I came to get your testimony for the prosecutor in charge. Care to answer a few questions?" Edgeworth asked.
"Oh, you don't have to ask twice, Edgey-dear!" Wendy replied as she winked at him which sent a few shivers down his spine.
"A-A-Anyway, I heard from the prosecutor that you were scared off by some loud noise. Care to explain what went on during that time?" Edgeworth asked.
"I was coming in just like any other day and I'll be honest...I was absolutely dreading it as I always tend to do. I'm tasked with checking the cameras every morning just to make sure if the night guard did not take anything or leave his shift during the night as well as make sure that everything else was in its proper place. However, I heard a scary roar coming from down the hall and ran away from this place. I called the manager and he told me to wait outside the restaurant until he could come in straight away," Wendy explained.
(Scary roar? What could that even be?) Edgeworth thought.
Scary Roar added to Logic
"The manager came in at 9:15 and headed towards the security office where he saw the crime scene. He called the police and told me to check the cameras, but those dang blasted things didn't record anything that night," Wendy explained as she tensed up a bit.
"Nothing at all? It lines up with what the prosecutor told me. I have to ask who was the previous night guard that worked here that was murdered? I never got a full name," Edgeworth stated.
"His name was Fritz Smith. A real fine fellow from what I've heard and he even had left over donuts from his shift. We even went out for coffee one time," Wendy replied.
(Someone that even Wendy could stand? Now that's a real head turner and I'm sure that some of the other staff had similar words to say.) Edgeworth thought as he crossed his arms.
Edgeworth got what he could out of Wendy as her testimony was based mostly on her hearing rather than what she saw, but he got a few interesting tidbits about the mystery of Fritz Smith's death. The body was missing and the cameras did not record anything that night which means the murderer won't be that easy to identify. Also, the bit of information about the animatronics having a free-roaming mode rubbed him wrong as well, but it didn't seem to have a bit of relevancy to his building case. One thing for sure is, he has to challenge Franziska's logic and find some way into the crime scene, but the only way he knows how is to go straight for the weakness of Franziska's core arguments. Surely, she would have built a case by now or some type of reconstruction with most of the findings she has uncovered so far. It's time for Edgeworth to challenge perfection!
Court Record:
Prosecutor's Badge: The proof of my profession and it is a symbol of justice that remains with me despite my previous ambitions. I usually keep it in my pocket for safe keeping.
Spare Keys: A ring of keys the manager gave me should I need to access any other room in the pizzeria usually reserved for employees.
Phone Messages: A phone in the office holds a few messages from the victim supposedly. There must be more in them and it concerns the animatronics.
Animatronic Data: One of the messages said that the animatronics have a free-roaming mode meaning they could move of their own accord. Very interesting.
Security Cameras: The very devices that looks over the pizzeria at night, but they usually delete records of anything they catch on camera.
Logic:
Where is the missing body?
What is the exact time of death?
What were in those deleted recordings?
What would encourage tighter security around the pizzeria?
What made that scary roar that made Wendy run out of the pizzeria?
Profiles:
Miles Edgeworth (27): That's me. A genius prosecutor that used to be a very ruthless prosecutor and followed the guidelines of a very strict man. Let's just say I use my new powers for the side of cold justice and to help the innocent.
Dick Gumshoe (32): The detective in charge of the initial investigation and my right hand man. He's really bubbly and clumsy usually failing at his job, but I wouldn't ask for a more loyal partner.
Franziska Von Karma (19): The prosecutor assigned to the case and the daughter of Manfred Von Karma, my former mentor that recently died a few years ago. Nothing like her father in terms of her skills, but she carries a whip to lash out at those that she finds foolish and doesn't tolerate mistakes.
Fritz Smith (?): The victim and a night guard at Freddy Fazebear's Pizzeria. Usually takes a midnight-6AM shift and locks up the pizzeria until the manager and the day guard arrives. However, his body is missing from the crime scene.
Wendy Oldbag (72): A day guard at the pizzeria and a notable admirer of mine. She's very cranky and does not like kids or her job for that matter.
Peter Twinkle (43): The business manager at the pizzeria and is usually in close contact with night guards during their shifts. He reported the crime when he called the police and ordered the day guard to check the cameras.
