Hi all, hope you are enjoying this fan fic. Let me know either way xx
Chapter 3.
Hayley spent all day Sunday cleaning her apartment. Monday morning Ally and her made it to school on time and Jay had met her at the precinct door with coffee. Thanking him, she spoke to Platt before heading up to the Intelligence floor. Hank nodded for her to join him in her office.
"I'm sorry about Saturday, I just don't seem to be getting anywhere. I am going to have to leave at 2:30, Ally finishes at three and I haven't got a sitter yet. I'll apologies to everyone in a minute."
"ok, I think that's a good idea. I have a sitter sorted. She will be here to meet you in a minute." Hayley tried to talk to him, "Stop talking it's done. Go sort this case out. Don't cross your arms at me just get on with it."
"Sir, thank you." Smiling she headed out to the bullpen.
"Hi guys, so I wanted to apologise for Saturday." Hayley started to speak.
"it's forgotten, honestly let's just get this case over with. OK?" Kim reassured her.
"Yeah, cause then we will get free pizza, right?" Jay and Hayley share a smile and Jay falls a little deeper into her Ocean eyes.
The sitter is a girl who Hank knows from his street. She is in college and finishes at two and is willing to do long hours and odd hours. Hayley and Hank do a deep background check but it all comes out clear. She is also studying to be a teacher. This helps settle Hayley. Sarah is going to meet Hayley at home tonight and spend some time with Hayley and Ally before Hank takes over. Hayley is going back under as Kelly, hopefully for the last time.
Sarah was fab and Ally loved her. As Hayley turned up at the club in character, she spotted Davies. The team had discovered that he had a stash house and he took a girl there after he finished work. Hayley was going to try and be that girl tonight.
Making eye contact brushing past him, smiling coyly all seemed to be working. Davis was behind the bar serving with 'Kelly'. His hand was on her waist, slowly it slipped down her hips, down her thigh and played with the skin under the hem of her dress.
"Come home with me tonight?" 'Kelly' played it cool protested just enough, and eventually agreed. The team was set.
Hayley and Jay kept tabs on each other, the rest of the team all doing their part. As Hayley left the club the team followed, all in their own time and they managed to keep up with the car that had Hayley in.
The plan was to spot the dope and make sure the gang leader was there. Then say the password. The word 'embarrassed' was to call Kelly and get her out and 'positive' was to go ahead with the bust. The house was a nice house. In through the front door to the left was a sitting room. Then a dining room and then the kitchen. There was a basement that was teaming with guys, Hayley knew that they would finish the job tonight. There was bags of drugs and lines on most of the surfaces in the house. When offered some she refused.
"I'm OK thanks" moving towards Davies giving him a doe eyed look.
"are you sure?" he asked a slimy smile on his face.
"Positive!" she smiled back at him.
They would arrest Hayley to keep her cover. Again, acting the part, she shouted and struggled. They ended up needing two mini busses to transport the men and women to the district. Then a van for the dope.
When all the people in the house were processed and the drugs caged. The Intelligence unit goes home to bed. Hayley checking on Ally. She knew she was going to have to make some changes, but how. She smiled at herself as she thought back to her and Jay talking on the sofa, Pizza delivery girl, she got ready for bed and settled down. The next time she opened her eyes it was 7 am and time to get up.
Exhausted Hayley reminded Ally that Sarah would be collecting her after school. There was a lot to do on the case file to get it ready for court. Then they needed to work out the street value of the product they had seized. A knock on the door made Hayley jump. Looking at the time, she sighed this had to be a joke. As she looked through the eye hole in the door, she smiled and took a deep breath.
"I didn't know there was a coffee delivery service, I'd definitely take that over a pizza delivery job today!" moving aside to let Jay in Hayley smiled.
"Well, I was passing and I thought I'd treat you to Coffee. Is that, OK?" he looked worried.
"it's perfect, thank you!" Their eyes locked on each other, trapped in a trance, they stood in the kitchen, inches apart. Close enough for Jay to smell her perfume and she could smell his clone. Ally ran down the stairs and was excited to see Jay. Her running to him, shouting his name was the thing that broke the trance they were both in.
"Can I give you a lift to the office?" Jay asked hopefully.
"I have to drop Ally of first but if you don't mind, I'm sure she would love a lift from you!" Ally stood smiling at Jay they had clicked over the last few days.
"Jay?" Ally asked as they set of.
"Yes Ally?" He replied.
"Do you catch bad guys like Mommy and Pops?"
"Yeah, I do?".
"Mommy says that she isn't going be a cop anymore, she says she is going get a new job, and my nanny says she needs find a Man not a job, she ran off, that's when we met you at her house but she has gone. I don't want her to come back. I like that my Mommy met you, she smiles more with you."
"Yeah? Well, I think your Mom should stay a cop too. She is good at it."
"she could work with you and pops!"
"She is sitting right here thank you!!!" Hayley spun round in her seat. "Ally let's go, your teachers waiting!"
As Hayley waved Ally off, Jay watched her, Ally was right, there was a spot in in intelligence. Why wouldn't Hank want her working for him. It was something he was going to look into. He could see himself working with her. Keep that smile on her face. As she climbs back in the car, and drinks her coffee, he realises maybe he is getting to attached to her. He could see a life with her and Ally, he wanted to settle down and have a home life. He shook his head, he needed to pull himself out of his head and back in the game.
"Jay, you OK?" he snapped his head towards her.
"Yeah, sorry I was miles away. Come on Voight will be waiting."
They finished the case and were all sat at Molly's celebrating. Hayley was ready to leave and thanked the group again. Hank was taking her home.
"Come work for us. Come to Intelligence, you gel with the team, I need a detective, it makes sense."
"Can I think about it? Please, I just need a day or two. Thank you though."
Reaching across the car she hugged him, smiled and went into the house. After saying goodnight to Sarah, poured herself a drink.
Three months later Hayley had taken the job in intelligence. She settled in well, she was partnered up with Jay. They worked so well together, that you think they had always worked together. They had each other's backs. Jay had been shot Hayley looked after him. Ally loved a Friday night pizza night with them when they were not working and when Ally was in bed they decompressed and regrouped from their week. Sundays off were spent with Hank. Sunday dinner or a BBQ with the team.
Hayley spent Sunday night in the bath and getting ready for the week ahead. Tonight, a headache she couldn't shake saw her asleep by 9pm. When her alarm went off she turned it off, turned over and went to sleep. Ally came in and tried to wake her, Hayley just pulled her in to snuggle.
"Mommy needs five minutes, OK? Go brush your Teeth. Get dressed!"
Half an hour later Jay was knocking on the door. Hayley trudged down to the front door.
"Jay what are you doing here?"
"Well, a little birdy told me you were sick. So, I am here with breakfast for her and you. Also, I am sending you back to bed. I will take Ally to school. You will stay in bed all day and watch trashy TV. And I will bring you soup at dinner time."
"No. I can't let you do that!"
"Hey, why not? Go back to bed take this and enjoy."
"Fine I'm going Ally be good have a great day at school I love you. Jay, have a great day at work, I love you too!" realising what she had just said she walked quickly to her room shut her door and climbed into bed.
Jay and Ally stood in the kitchen looked at each other and laughed.
"Come on buddy let's go. Your mom must be super sick."
"No, she loves you, I can tell she does, she's too shy to tell you though. I heard her talk to Nessa last week."
"OK well let's go so I can get back and interrogate her about it then."
Smiling at each other they set off to do the school run.
Ally threw her arms around Jay. "I'd happy if you were my Daddy Jay!" Ally said as she hugged him tight. Before he could reply she ran off to join Owen and her friends. Jay saw Will and asked if he was free for a coffee. Work could wait for today.
"What's up little bro?"
"Nothing why? Can't I just ask you to meet for a coffee without there been drama?"
"Yeah sure, when did you and Hayley become a thing?"
"We are not a 'thing' she is sick, so I dropped Ally of at school. It's what friends do! Help each other out. I'm going to drop by later and take her some dinner then go home and enjoy my afternoon off"
"OK. Complete change of subject, are you going to the cabin in the next few weeks. Cause it will need opening up and cleaning. If you don't want to, I can go."
"No ill go it's all good. May take the team make a weekend of it."
After chatting for a while Jay left and headed back to Hayley, taking some soup with him. They sat on the sofa, Hayley wrapped in a blanket her head still banging.
"What can I do to help Hayley?"
"Nothing, honestly it's just a head cold." Tears streamed down her face, she hated being vulnerable, she hated that she was crying and showing weakness. She was finished with her soup Jay took it from her. Slowly he opened his arms inviting her in to his embrace for a hug. She slowly accepted, and they settled into the sofa Jay holding Hayley slowly and carefully running his fingers over her temple. He continued u till her breathing leveled out. They stayed like that till 4:30 when Hank came in with Ally.
"Is mommy still sick?"
"Yeah hunny, she has a bad head. What do want for dinner tonight?"
"Spaghetti and meatballs"
"really? we can do that I'm sure"
"OK I'm going to play upstairs."
"OK ill cook dinner."
"You don't have to!" a voice came from the sofa.
"OK? Are you going to cook?" he joked.
"Yeah cheerio's and chocolate milk!" Hayley sat up her head swimming, Hank stood watching the exchange. When he first met Jay, he wasn't sure of him. As he got to know him, he realised he was a good cop. He dated Erin for a while he saw he was a good guy too. When Erin left it broke Jay and he became a recluse again. Since he has been working with Hayley, he's come out of himself again. They work amazingly well together and have a click. Jay is also amazing with Ally, that girl deserves the world. As Jay cooked him and Hank talked and as the smell made its way round the house, the girls joined them.
"Mommy Di Jay tell you I want him to be my Daddy?" they all stopped and looked at the 4 year old.
"Erm no but hunny, you can't just ask someone something like that."
"Why no, Andrew said his daddy wasn't his daddy then his mommy met him and now he is his daddy. And they got married and they are having a baby soon."
"OK so I think I am going now" Hank said laughing at the two of them.
"No, you don't I'm to sick for this today. You two need to sort this I'm going back to the sofa to pretend this conversation never happened."
"Ally your Mom and I are just friends like really good friends, like you and Owen! I mean I'll always be here for you, OK? Here eat your spaghetti."
"Pops, do you know who my Daddy is? I really want one, Sammy has two!"
"Ally let's eat, we can talk about this later ok" Hank told her.
"Ok"
They fell into easy conversation about school and what she wanted to do in the summer vacation that was only three weeks away.
Ally was in bed; Hank had gone home and Hayley was in the shower. Jay finished cleaning the kitchen and settled on the sofa. Within a few minutes he was asleep, Hayley covered him with a blanket and went to bed after locking up the house.
