After they had entered what seemed to be the main house three women came up to them. The front one who had blond hair asked, "Who are you?" Then seeing the injured men, "What happened?"
"I'll explain later Shea." General Mundi had entered the house with the child on his hip, "For now these are my troops and the last mission did not end well."
Nodding, "Alright Ki-ad." Then they started organizing a ward in a large room right off of the entrance. It had a large floor space, but they quickly brought out bio-beds to hook up to the walls along with the equipment from cupboards. As soon as the first was set-up a graceful young woman about twenty three directed the troops carrying the soldier with the worst wounds to it so they could tend to him. Soon all of the injured men were either on a bed or a chair if the wound was light.
Commander Baccara watched in favor of the efficiency, but there was still concern for his men and confusion as to this side of his General. The wizened man was helping the men by introducing them to the women who were nursing them, and made even the smallest child (the little that was there to greet them) feel like she was helping. In fact, she was the only child under fifteen that they saw. More than once either the General or one of the women would turn around finding her holding out something and smile saying, "Thank you, that's exactly what I needed," even if they didn't use it.
He was considering this when the woman who greeted them, Shea he remembered, came up to him. "We have a spare house that you and your men can stay in if that's more comfortable for you," she was watching his face as if testing his reaction. But it wasn't the measuring look that the Kamodians gave trying to test their creations or the look of hatred most nat-borns gave them. He decided she didn't want a bunch of men known for sleeping with females around the seven young women here.
So he nodded grateful for the veil of civility, "Yes, thank you."
And she nodded, "Ka-lor will show you there." Motioning to the teenage boy who nodded and came forward.
Speaking to the men who weren't injured or needed there as medics, "If you will please follow me."
