Latest chapter is here! I hope you all enjoy it. Uni has been crazy, so I haven't had a lot of time to work on my fics but I'm still writing, just slowly lol. I hope you are all well out there.
Also, if you have any thoughts on who Luna should end up with, please let me know, I will probably make a decision soon also they mostly call their father daddy, it felt a bit weird writing it but Luna calls him that in the books so I tried to roll with it lol.
Thanks for reading and all the lovely comments and reviews!
I do not own Harry Potter.
Chapter 3
When Harry awoke the next morning, it took him a moment to remember where he was. Luckily, he was used to waking up in all sorts of weird and wonderful places, so he wasn't too bothered by it. He looked down and realised that he was still dressed in his new Ravenclaw robes, he must've fallen asleep as soon as he returned to the dorm last night. He had a vague recollection of a boy helping him from the great hall, he would have to make sure to thank him this morning he thought decisively as he climbed out of bed. The rest of the dorm was silent, so Harry collected a fresh change of clothes from his trunk and headed for what he assumed to be the bathroom. He couldn't risk anyone seeing the marks on his back where his wings retracted so he needed to make sure to shower only when no one was around. Their daddy had made sure to drill that into their heads repeatedly before they left for Hogwarts.
He took his time showering, enjoying the feel of the warm water as it ran over his body. Being a water nymph, he loved being in any kind of water. It soothed his soul. He was tempted to let his wings out for just a moment, but he knew the risk was too great. He concentrated and felt the water around him stir, as though a great beast was slowly waking up, it glided around his skin like a winding snake, before he released his grip and the water returned to normal. Water was his element but that didn't mean that it came easily, well not yet anyway. With time and practice the possibilities were limitless. He finished up and slipped into a clean robe, casting a drying charm on his long hair, just as the rest of the dorm was beginning to stir.
A rumpled head poked through a curtain as the bathroom door shut behind him.
"Hi, I'm Terry" the other teen said groggily, obviously still waking up. "We didn't get a chance to be introduced last night."
Harry smiled and stuck out his hand expectantly for the other to shake. "Sorry about that, I get tired quite easily. I'm Harry."
"No doubt it was a long day" said Terry as he shook Harry's hand.
Curtains were pulled away from other beds and the other Ravenclaw boys were soon introducing themselves as well.
Harry headed to the common room while the others got ready, where he found Luna sitting alone by the fire. He joined her on her seat, curling himself against her side. She smiled softly and reached up and ran a hand through his long hair.
"Alright?" she asked softly.
Harry just nodded, nymphs were very tactile creatures, but only with those they trusted. They both enjoyed a good cuddle.
"Sleep alright, Harry? Luna?" A tall handsome student asked as he approached the cuddling pair. Harry stared for a moment, struggling to place the student, before remembering that this was the person who helped him to the tower the night before.
"Oh wonderfully" Luna said with a smile and Harry nodded in agreement.
"Thank you for helping me last night" Harry said sincerely. "I tend to get very tired quite easily, the best thing to do is just get me tucked into a warm bed."
Roger waved away the thanks, "it was my pleasure, and I'll make sure to keep that in mind for the future."
Harry looked up when he saw both the sixth-year girls and boys walk down the stairs and into the common room. Roger turned at the noise.
"Well, I better let you go, hopefully we can talk again soon" Roger said as he departed.
"She slept with her shoes on" he heard one of the girls whisper and they all started murmuring. Harry knew they were talking about Luna, who had slept with shoes on for years due to sleep walking.
"Of course, she does," Harry spoke up. "Luna sleepwalks regularly."
Harry looked as though that explained everything and perhaps to him it did. The other sixth years just looked perplexed.
"Breakfast?" he asked, and the other teens nodded and started heading for the door.
"Ooh I hope there's pudding" Luna said dreamily as she slid her hand into his.
"Chocolate pudding" Harry replied, lost in thought, as they followed behind the group to the great hall.
"Ah, there isn't usually pudding for breakfast" a boy said, and Harry remembered that his name was Kevin.
"Perhaps at lunch time then" Harry murmured consolingly to Luna.
Michael rolled his eyes. "No, there won't be pudding at lunch time either" he said snarkily. "Pudding is only served after dinner, just like every other day of the week."
Harry frowned and his head tilted to the side.
"How would we know that it's only our first day here."
"It's just bloody common sense!" Michael said exasperatedly before striding off to the great hall muttering about weirdo's and pudding.
A few of the other Ravenclaws looked embarrassed at their friend's outburst but they too kept walking toward the great hall.
"There might not be pudding, but there is a lot of other nice things to eat" Anthony said, smiling at Harry and Luna as they walked.
All heads turned at they entered the great hall, but Harry and Luna were too busy looking at cloud formations as they floated by the Great Halls ceiling to really pay attention to that.
They had only just sat down at the Ravenclaw table when a large bowl of chocolate pudding was dropped down in front of them.
Harry looked up to find identical smiles grinning broadly at them, the smiles were attached to a pair of tall red heads.
"Couldn't help but hear" one began.
"Your conversation in the hall" the other finished.
"We decided to give you a proper welcome to Hogwarts…"
"By providing you with this delicious, if not very nutritious breakfast!"
The pair looked very pleased with themselves and Harry couldn't help but smile back.
"You brought us pudding" Luna said happily, "thank you."
"Yes, thank you." Harry said with a smile, green and blue eyes alight with happiness as they started eating.
Fred and George stood frozen for a moment, mesmerised as they watched the pair practically glow as they started eating the pudding.
"Oh, I'm sorry, would you like some?" Harry asked, offering out his spoon to the closest teen and shooting him an inquisitive look.
N-no, that's OK! You enjoy."
"They simply enjoy watching us eat" Luna murmured, and Harry nodded in understanding.
"Ah, well then watch away" he said with a smile as he ate another large spoonful of pudding, seemingly unphased that two virtual strangers were watching them.
The pudding bringing teens spluttered in embarrassment, both red heads getting steadily redder.
"I'm Fred…"
"and I'm George" they said as they introduced themselves, clearly trying to change the topic.
"We're twins and seventh year Gryffindors."
"You're the first Gryffindors we've met" Luna said. "If they're all like you it must be a lovely house."
Fred and George preened at the compliment.
"Well, they aren't all like us, but it is a great house. You should sit with us sometime for meals, I know everyone would make you feel welcome."
Harry glanced behind the twins to see the majority of Gryffindor house watching the exchange with avid expressions. Even the Ravenclaws around them were watching with interest, Michael was scowling.
"That would be nice" Harry said sincerely, and he picked up his bowl of pudding and walked toward the Gryffindor table, Luna floating along behind him.
"We- ah great!" Fred said, hurrying after the siblings, not wanting to admit the pair had left him struggling to keep up. He wasn't used to feeling so thrown out, a glance at George let him know his twin was obviously feeling the same way.
The Gryffindors hurried to make room for the new students, Fred and George pushed some students out of the way so that they could sit down opposite them.
"So, I gather your twins as well?" George asked as he buttered himself some toast.
"Oh no, not at all, Harry is actually six months younger" Luna explained.
A few people traded glances, obviously wondering how siblings could be so close in age, but no one had the nerve to ask anything.

Over at the Slytherin table most of the sixth and seventh years were feeling very disgruntled that the Gryffindors were making a move to befriend the new students.
"They can't make friends with the Gryffindors! They just can't!" Pansy wailed in despair.
"Those bloody Weasleys getting them pudding, I would've gotten them pudding if I'd know they wanted it" Draco said with a pout.
The news that the Weasley twins had surprised the new students with chocolate pudding for breakfast had spread through the assembled students like wildfire.
Marcus felt himself glare as the Gryffindor next to Harry subtly moved closer. He gripped his fork and forced himself to look away, lest he storm over there and drag the small Ravenclaw away. He had a feeling that Harry wouldn't appreciate that at all. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself. He had to admit, it was a smart move from the Weasley twins to get in good with Harry and Luna. He quite often wondered how the pair had ended up in Gryffindor and not in Slytherin, they were certainly ambitious and cunning enough.

"I'm Ron Weasley, by the way. Fred and George's younger brother" a teen sitting a few seats down from Fred and George said, sticking out his hand for Harry to shake.
Harry reached forward and took the offered hand. "Harry Lovegood."
"We all know that, we were all at the welcoming feast last night when you were sorted" Ron said as he took a large bite of toast.
Harry blushed slightly and glanced away from the other red head.
"I'm Hermione Granger," a brunette sitting next to Ron said, also sticking out her hand for Harry and Luna to shake. "I heard that you were home schooled before now, you must be so excited to be at Hogwarts where you can get a real education."
Harry and Luna turned identical frowns on the loud brunette, green and blue eyes seeming to glow as they took in the Gryffindor. A few students around them shifted uncomfortably.
Hermione kept speaking, not noticing that she had perhaps said the wrong thing. "I expect you will be well and truly behind the rest of us. I'm best in our year, so if you need a hand trying to catch up let me know. I can organise a study schedule for us."
Harry felt his hands turn frigid and he thought if he were to touch the table ice would start to form, it took a lot for a water nymph to form ice, but he could not abide any insult to his family.
"Daddy taught us very well" was all Luna said before turning her head away and effectively ending the conversation.
The Gryffindor next to Harry tried to ask him a question about quidditch but Ron overrode him.
"A friendly tip, since you're new here, stay away from the Slytherins. They're bad news, the lot of them."
"Enough Ron," Fred said with a frown at his younger brother, making a mental note to slip him a tonne tongue toffee later.
"What?" Ron squawked, "someone's got to let them know who to avoid around here."
"We actually met a group of Slytherins yesterday and they were lovely. So, I don't think we'll be taking your advice, thank you."
Ron looked shocked for a moment.
"Don't be stupid, death eaters and dark wizards the lot of them! You pair wouldn't stand a chance amongst the likes of them" Ron grumbled.
Harry had had just about enough but before he could do anything, Luna stood and took Harry's hand in hers.
"I fear the wrakspurt infestation is even worse than we first thought" Harry said, letting Luna pull him away from the Gryffindor table and across the hall. They ignored the Gryffindors who tried to call them back.
They arrived at the Slytherin table and sat themselves amongst the students they had met yesterday, not noticing the looks of shock and surprise on the faces around them.
"Ah, everything OK?" Draco asked uncertainly.
"Of course," Harry said, but he didn't elaborate further, instead he started dishing himself up some fruit.
Marcus felt his blood boil at the idea that the Gryffindors had done something to upset the beautiful duo.
Harry felt dark eyes on him and looked up to find Marcus staring intently.
"Did they do something to upset you?" Marcus asked gruffly, eyes scanning Harry's face.
Green eyes stared into brown, and Harry felt a shiver run down his spine.
"No, they were just infested with wrakspurts, doesn't make for very pleasant company."
Marcus just nodded as though this made perfect sense, a few Slytherins around them shot them confused looks but no one questioned the strange announcement.
Professor Flitwick made his way over with Harry and Lunas timetables.
"You have potions first; I suggest you stick with your year mates and they will show you the way around the castle until you are more comfortable. Would you like to come to my office on the weekend and we can have a cup of tea and talk about how your first week has gone?" Professor Flitwick asked kindly.
"Oh, yes please" Luna said happily.
Harry looked down at his timetable, potions, herbology and then transfiguration. That sounded like a nice day. Draco leaned over his shoulder to get a glimpse of the timetable.
"It looks like we have herbology together."
"Wonderful" Harry said, giving a gentle wave as he and Luna stood and virtually floated back over to the Ravenclaw table, falling into step with the other sixth years as they left the hall and made their way to potions.
"Now, Snape is a real arse, just so you're aware" Padma said as she walked beside Harry.
Harry's lips curled up into a crooked smile, "he probably just needs someone to be kind to him."
Padma spluttered, looking completely shocked, as though the idea had never occurred to her.
"Snapes a gargoyle, horrible to look at and cold as stone" Michael laughed, causing Harry and Luna to frown and share a glance.
They entered the classroom, Harry and Luna took their seats a few desks from the front, while the other Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs took their seats around them.
Snape swept in in his usual brisk manner, waving his wand so that instructions for a potion appeared on the board.
"You will be brewing the elixir to induce euphoria; this potion regularly comes up in newt exams, so I suggest you try not to make a complete mess of it. Begin."
Harry and Luna read through the instructions on the board before collecting their ingredients and starting to brew.
Snape swept around the classroom, sneering at and belittling every potion he passed. When he finally came to Harry and Luna's desk, he prepared a snarky diatribe about the uselessness of Ravenclaw house in general and in particular its two newest students. Instead, Snape stood transfixed as bright emerald green eyes stared up at him. He felt his heart freeze in his chest, green eyes that looked so much like Lily's, and for a moment he was transported to a first meeting with a fiery read headed, green eyed girl at a small run-down park. He mentally shook himself as the small teen started to speak.
"Don't let me interrupt that thought, sir, it seemed like quite an important one."
Snaped blinked at the odd statement as Harry turned back to his potion and began crushing the Alihotsy leaves.
"Just what do you think you are doing?" Snape asked as though speaking to someone particularly dim-witted. "Can you not read? The board clearly says to cut the leaves, why are you crushing them?"
Harry didn't look offended at all by Snapes barbed words.
"We've found that if you crush the leaves then add a dash of Armadillo bile before doing the clock-wise turns, you can get rid of the nasty after taste that is common with this potion."
Snape stared in shock, his mind whirring.
"Crushing the leaves lets out more of the oil quicker?" he asked brow furrowed.
"Yes," said Luna "and the bile prevents the potion from overheating and bubbling due to the higher toxicity from the leaves."
Snape lent over and examined the leaves in Harry's mortar, touching them lightly and feeling the oil on his fingers. He looked intrigued.
"But doesn't the bile negate the effects of the leaves altogether, thus nulling the potion?
"No, not at all, as long as the leaves are crushed and more potent then usual. It would if you added the bile after only cutting the leaves."
"Show me" Snape breathed; eyes alight with interest.
So, Luna and Harry showed him. They brewed the potion as they had been taught, explaining the steps as they went, Snape soaking the information up like a sponge as he watched their every move.
As they finished and Luna handed Snape a vile of the completed potion. He examined it carefully before taking a small sip.
"No aftertaste" he cried as his face split into a broad grin, though whether that was from the potion itself or the discovery of new information Harry wasn't sure.
"50 points to Ravenclaw for complete ingenuity" Snape said, seemingly calming down but no less impressed. The whole room was frozen in astonishment, Snape had never given that many points to a house that wasn't Slytherin before in anyone's memory.
"Do you two have an interest in potions?" he asked.
"Of course. Our mother was quite a potion genius and Daddy taught us everything he knows" Luna explained.
"Would you care to come for tea over the weekend and we can discuss our knowledge on potions?" Snape asked and Harry noted that he seemed a little hesitant.
"That would be wonderful" Harry said as he waved his wand to start clearing their table.
Snape nodded, before moving off around the classroom hurrying people along as the class wrapped up.
The other Ravenclaws were staring at the with a mixture of awe and surprise on their faces. Any doubts about whether the two were really Ravenclaws was wiped from everyone's minds. Any student he could earn 50 points from Snape was alright in anyone's book.
Harry and Luna didn't notice the fuss going on around them, to busy discussing what they would wear to their tea dates on the weekend.
They drifted out of the classroom; eyes unfocussed as they discussed their options.
"How did potions go?" A voice next to Harry asked and Harry startled as he focused on the tall blonde in front of him.
"Blaise, Draco, Theodore," Harry said with a soft smile. "What are you doing here?"
"Ah, we're here for Herbology, same as you, remember?"
Harry looked around, seemingly surprised to find himself and Luna standing at the Herbology greenhouses, they must have drifted down with their class without really realising.
"I hope Snape wasn't too hard on you?" Draco tried again.
"Oh, no, he was wonderful" Harry said with a gentle sigh, causing all assembled Slytherins to frown.
Before anyone could ask Professor Sprout entered and the lesson began.
"Wonderful?" Blaise mouthed to Draco; his brows furrowed in confusion. Draco just shrugged in response, what could one say to that.
The class would have to be the most unusual herbology the Slytherins had ever been a part of. They were tending to venomous tentacula, a very dangerous plant but Harry and Luna may as well have been pruning roses for all the care they seemed to give to the dangerous situation.
The siblings patted the tentacles as though they were the most beautiful things they had ever seen, all the while singing and raining the vicious plant with soft praises.
"Oh, who is the most beautiful tentacula I've ever seen" Luna crooned as she pruned away some dead leaves.
"Such a clever plant, growing so big, you must be wonderful at trapping pray" Harry sang, as he pressed fresh soil around the base of the plant.
The rest of the class stood gobsmacked. A pair of Ravenclaws were nearly strangled to death as they stood frozen, watching the strange proceedings. Daphne had received a nasty cut to her face and Blaise had had his hand nearly crushed as they were distracted by the singing.
"Concentrate! Concentrate!" Professor Sprout cried as she moved around the class healing the relatively minor injuries.
"Wonderful! What wonderful work!" Professor Sprout said with delight as she saw Harry and Luna and how well they were doing with their venomous tentacula. "Look how well the plant is responding to both of you, it must trust you a great deal to believe all your pretty words and let you so close."
"It believes us because they're all true" Harry said with a tilt of his head, hand reaching out to scratch a long tentacle.
Even Sprout looked momentarily surprised before grinning happily.
"Marvellous, take 30 points for Ravenclaw."
Draco grunted as a flying tentacle clipped his neck, he was tempted to start singing just to get the plant to submit but somehow, he didn't think it would work quite so well for him.
As the class wrapped up Harry and Luna were the only pair that had managed to successfully care for their plant. Professor Sprout beamed at them as they exited the greenhouses and Draco's was not the only gaze that followed the pair up to the great hall for lunch.
Draco made his way to the Slytherin table, hoping that the pair would join them again, but alas they seemed content to eat at their own table. Which was proudly exclaiming their many virtues to anyone who would listen.
Harry and Luna didn't seem to know quite what to do with all the attention, deciding to concentrate on their meals instead of their excitable house mates.
"What's all the fuss about?" Terence asked, as he sat down at the table and watched the kerfuffle going on at the Ravenclaw table and seemingly the whole hall.
Pansy piped up straight away. "I heard they seriously impressed Snape with their potion making skills in potions this morning."
Everyone around them looked doubtful.
"So much so that Snape awarded them 50 points!"
If it had been any other house-, their would have been gasps all round, but Slytherins had more control then that.
"But Snape never gives that many points to anyone outside of Slytherin" Adrian said in confusion.
"He did this time. They made changes to the potion they were working on to help with the aftertaste. Apparently, Snape looked like all his Christmases had come at once."
"Then in Herbology" Daphne said, taking over the telling. "They were the only ones to properly care for their venomous tentacula. Sprout was nearly beside herself in excitement" Daphne snorted.
"How did they manage to do anything to a venomous tentacula? Those things are vicious" Marcus asked, genuine curiosity evident in his tone.
"They bloody sang and caressed it, smothering it with praises the whole time. I've never seen anything like it" Blaise said, his eyes alight with an interest Marcus found he didn't like. "Sprout gave them 30 points."
Marcus' eyebrows shot up in surprise. 80 points on your first day was impressive, he supposed he could see what all the fuss was about.
His eyes trailed over to the two blonde heads that were currently sitting at the Ravenclaw table. He had to supress a growl as he saw just how many people in the hall had their eyes trained on the new students.
Marcus averted his eyes as Harry's cheeks pinked in response to something Roger had said to him.
The new students were proving to be very interesting indeed.
