Chapter 3
It took a few hours, but the van finally parked in a drive way."Alright, Max" Ken said."I'll go get Tentacles while you open the door". The fish in the drivers seat named Max nodded."See you in a minute" Max said."I haven't heard a peep out of this kid in a while"."Yeah, it almost feels like he's not even with us" Ken agreed and got out of the car to go get Squidward. Squidward was resting his elbow on the car door, with his head laying on his tentacle when the car door opened. Squidward looked up at Ken. Ken sneered down at him.
"Ah, good, you're awake"."Barley" Squidward yawned."I think I dozed off after a while".
"Well, nap times over. Get out" Ken ordered. Squidward got out of the van. Ken grabbed a hold of Squidward and started walking towards their destination."Do you mind telling me what's going on and why you need me. I was already in a similar situation four months ago, and I don't feel like going through it again" Squidward told him."I know. We know all about your little situation with Squilliam Fancyson. You'll find out once you see our boss, James Corleone"."And that name… Corleone sounds somewhat familiar to me. I just can't put my tentacle on it" Squidward added.
Ken sneered. He couldn't wait to see the look on Squidward's face and his reaction when he found out what was going on. Once they got inside, they walked up to a door. Max spoke."Hello, boss"."Yes" the voice called out."We have Squidward Tentacles for ya" Max told him as he was leaning close to the door."Yes, yes. Please bring him in" the voice spoke again. Max and Ken walked in the room, bringing Squidward with them."Ah, hello, Mr. Tentacles. It's nice to meet you" the figure in the office chair spoke. His chair was facing away from Squidward."Allow me to introduce myself". The figure sitting in a chair turned himself around to face the young octopus in front of him.
"The name's James Corleone. I'm your fathers boss"."No wonder why your last name sounds so familiar" Squidward said." I remember my mom mentioning you throughout my childhood. In fact, I remember I tried to find out more information about you back in High School. Barnacles, why did I stop?". James chuckled, a dark chuckle. Squidward shivered.
"Ah, so you tried to find out more information about me, huh. I'm surprised. But, don't worry… you'll find out more information about me soon enough" James added.
"Well, good… I think" Squidward thought. James called over his shoulder."Okay, you can come in now".
Suddenly, the door to the right side from behind him opened up to reveal… Jeff Tentacles! Jeff and Squidward's eyes both widened.
"Squidward" Jeff said and stepped forward."Dad" Squidward cried, shocked. Jeff couldn't believe his son was here, out of all places! Right when Jeff thought Squidward didn't want him to be part of his life anymore. James turned to face Jeff.
"I'm sure you're surprised to see your kid after that letter"."How do you know about that!?" Jeff demanded."Careful, Tentacles. You don't want me to fire you now, do you?" James sneered."Wait a minute? What letter?!" Squidward wondered. Jeff stepped forward.
"You know… the one where you told me you didn't want me to be part of your life anymore".
"I wrote no such thing! In fact, I didn't even write a letter to you" Squidward told him. This made Jeff's eyes widen.
"You mean, you do want me to be part of your life" Jeff was hopeful. Squidward smiled.
"Of course, dad. Besides, you were really distant from me for the most part of my life and you didn't really get to know me" Squidward added. Jeff was now really happy."Oh, Squiddy. You have no idea how happy I am to hear that". Then, Jeff got confused."Wait a minute. If you didn't write that letter, then who did?". Jeff turned towards his boss."Mr. Corleone? Did you write that letter?"."Yes, I did Mr. Tentacles. I wrote that letter because you wanted to reconnect with your family. I wrote it and sent it to you just so wouldn't reconnect with them again and stay with me". Jeff glared at James.
"Forget it, Corleone. Come on, son. We're leaving" Jeff and Squidward started to turn around, but Ken and Max stepped in front of the door, blocking their way out. James glared at Jeff and Squidward."Oh, no. You're not going anywhere. Ken, Max. Take these two to the guest room". Ken grabbed Squidward and Max grabbed Jeff , and took them away.
"Hey!" Squidward cried." I need some time to think" James whispered. Meanwhile, Ken opened a door and Max, and him pushed Squidward and Jeff in the room.
"What the barnacles is going on?!" Jeff demanded."Don't worry, Mr. Tentacles. You will be free from this room… your kid on the other hand will still be under Corleone's custody". Ken sneered at Squidward."He has big plans for him". Squidward gulped and shivered with fear."For now, why don't you two get some rest". Ken and Max left the room and locked the door. Jeff turned to Squidward.
"I'm sorry Squidward. This is all my fault" Jeff apologized."No, it's not, dad. It's Corleone's" Squidward reassured him."Yeah, but, I'm the reason why he wants you. So, I wouldn't get to reconnect with my family"."Well, you're with me now" Squidward added."Don't worry, Squiddy. I'll get you out of this. I need to take my boss down"."But, what about your job?" Squidward wondered."Hey, you're my family… and nothing's more important than my family" Jeff told him.
