Luz's father sat in a meeting that he really didn't care about. His daughter has been in her room for a week without food or water, to say that he was scared would be an understatement. He's been unable to reach her, no matter how much he tried.
"Sir?" a board member asked, "Is everything okay?"
"Huh? Oh, I'm just... thinking." He said.
"Is it about your daughter?" Another asked.
He tightens his grip on the pen that he's been clicking for the better part of an hour.
"Is it that obvious?" He asked.
"Some people have been working here since the very start of this business, almost thirty years. A lot of us have noticed how you act over the past decades. You've never acted like this." An old man that's been in this company since the start said.
"She's been locked in her room ever since she arrived. I can't get through to her." He said, "She blames herself for her mother's murder."
He got out of his chair and grabbed his briefcase.
"Well, I think this meeting has gone on long enough. Thank you for your time, but I have to see if Luz is ready to talk yet."
He walked to the elevator and clicked the lobby button. On his way down, he thought about Luz. He has to do something before it was too late. He got into the limo and ordered the driver to take him to the one place he might have a chance to speak to his wife's spirit. His drive felt like an eternity until it came to a stop. He got out and went inside the old stone building. He was never a very religious man, but Camila was in a strict Catholic family, so she went to church frequently. She may have stayed away from religion after she moved away from her family, but she told him that she would still pray whenever she felt life was to hard.
"I can't believe I'm doing this." He put his hands together and bowed his head, "Camila, I don't know if you're listening, but I need help. I can't get to Luz, I don't know what she likes, how to reach her. The thing I fear the most, is that I won't be able to help her when she finds out who she really is. I'm begging you, please give me a sign."
He got up and left the church. As he left, he noticed something. He thinks he remembers something that Camila told him about Luz years ago. He smiled and walked into the store, whispering a "thank you" towards the sky. By the time he returned home, he knocked on Luz's door.
"Luz, I... Princess, I'm truly worried about you. I know you feel pain, trust me, I miss her too, but I can't handle the thought of losing you, too." He said, "I... I got you a gift. I'll leave it out here in front of your door. If you do want to talk, I'll be down stairs. Please, Princess... talk to me."
He left and after a few minutes, Luz's door opened and she looked at the book on the ground. She picked it up and held it close to her chest. She walked back into her room and put the book on her desk.
"The Good Witch Azura: Book 6."
Luz got off her bed and started to walk down the stairs.
