Previously:
"Severus you are to go back, tell them something of the truth. Say that Potter had gone to Draco for comfort after the attack and that Draco had brought Potter here to confront his father, not realizing that I was here. Tell them I have taken Potter prisoner and I am yet to decide what to do with him but that the death eaters are partying about this victory."
To Toms amazement Potter stepped forward to wrap his arms around the blond boy and then turned to do the same to the potion master, who only stiffened slightly.
"My lord" both men said before bowing and leaving the room through the fire.
Chapter 3
Harry watched as his newest friend and professor left him. He was still unclear on whether that was a good or terrifying thing. All he knew was that the most feared dark lord was his best bet to keeping himself and his child safe at the moment.
Turning Harry saw that the older Malfoy had not moved from his slouched position on the chair. Tentatively as not to startle the man or make any rushed movements that may get him cursed by the dark lord behind him, Harry made his way over and sat on the sofa facing the fireplace giving the other men time to gather their thoughts. He knew it was a lot to take in, it had taken him a few days to finely come to terms with everything enough to visit Snape. If he was being honest, he still was not hundred percent sure on any of this. The attack had happened 8 weeks ago, but it wasn't until Luna had said in her typical dreamy voice that the fairies had been busy planting life in him did he find out that he was pregnant. He did not even know he could get pregnant; really why did wizards have to do everything so different to the muggles. Draco had laughed until he had explained to the blond how exactly he had become pregnant which had made the normally pale teen even paler. Then, when he had made sure Harry did not really believe it to have been his father, as quickly as Draco's humor had disappeared, he had started to celebrate the fact he would finally have a sibling. Harry had avoided the blond after that until he had made up his mind on what he wanted to do which had not been an easy decision.
Harry had been so scared and angry. For starters he did not know how to bring up a child and then there was the fact he would probably have to do it alone. On top of that his life was always in danger, he did not think bringing a child into the world where a mad man was out to kill him would be the best environment to raise a baby. Harry also had a feeling that whoever had attacked him either would do anything to get rid of the baby or anything to steal the baby.
In the end he had decided that no matter how the little thing would come into the world, this was his chance to finally have a family and he would do anything to keep the baby safe which meant confronting the unknowing other father. The dark lord being there and accepting this strange turn of events was an unplanned bonus. Harry was still scared and angry but now after talking to his professor and even the dark lord he was starting to feel excited.
He did not want to rush any decisions Mr Malfoy would need to make, no this definitely was something that should not be rushed.
He tensed as the dark lord made his way back over, but he need not have worried, the crimson eyed man did not even spare him a glance as he sat back in his chair staring into the fire. Staring openly at the man while his attention was elsewhere, Harry was curious as to where the snake like, nose less man he had met every year was. Yes, this man was definitely lord Voldemort, the towering height and the red eyes gave that away, but this Voldemort looked more like the brown-haired boy he had met in his second year in the chamber of secrets just about 20 years older. If Harry was being honest this Voldemort reminded him of the muggle character from his aunt's favorite day time TV show days of our lives, Eric brady. (at the time in 1998 Eric Brady was played by Jensen Ackles). Just with hair a few shades darker. It did weird things to Harry. When he was able to sneak glances at the Tv while doing his chores he had always had a crush on the character and now here was the man that had taken his parents from him, who had murdered his friend in front of him and had tried to kill Harry at every turn looking so much like that childhood crush. Harry was confused.
As Harry sat there in the warmth of the fire, feeling safe for the first time in 8 weeks which was strange given his present company, lost in thought he felt himself nodding off.
TOMS POV -
Tom stared into the fire fighting with himself. What was he going to do? He could not kill Potter now obviously, if Lucius wanted this child and he did anything to hurt it he ran the risk of turning the Malfoy family into enemies and that would just not do in his fight to win over the wizarding world.
Also, even though he had attacked Potter when he was a child, he did not actually make it a habit to hurt children as children in the wizarding world were something to be cherished and looked after unless there was a prophecy predicting they would end the dark lord.
Maybe he could wait till the brat had given birth and then kill him. Smiling at that pleasant thought, Tom decided Potter would be safe from him until Lucius spawn was born.
Startled out of his musing by a soft grunt, Tom whipped his head around to see that the younger man had fallen asleep and was snoring. The dark lord was stumped, how was the boy asleep with his biggest enemy in the room.
"I don't think I can deal with that right now, my lord" Lucius said voice low, finally looking away from the fire and speaking for the first time since Potter's arrival. "if you will be ok here watching him, I may just make my way to Hogwarts, to Severus, to try wrap my head around all this."
Tom was not pleased, what was he a babysitter to the boy he wanted to kill, but he nodded his agreement anyway he was not always a heartless dark lord especially to those he considered friends, watching as the blonde flooed away. He sat for a bit longer sipping his tea enjoying the warmth and silence before sighing, Tom walked over to the boy, placing an arm under his knees and one under his neck gently lifting the younger man into his arms. He did not want to risk firing a levitation spell on the boy just in case he hurt the unborn child. When the younger boy shifted in his arms remaining asleep, Tom scowled down at the peaceful face, why was the boy not heavier. He had not put him under a feather light charm and yet he was light enough that one would believe he had been. Did the boy have an eating disorder? Tom decided as he headed up the stairs towards the guest rooms that he would call on his healer to check over Potter in the morning. The boy needed more meat on his bones if the dark lord was going to defeat him in a somewhat fair fight.
Placing the too thin boy onto the bed in the room next to his own, Tom peered down allowing himself to really look at him. Behind the hideous glasses that Tom gently removed and placed on the side table, he had to admit the potter boy was not all that bad on the eye.
Shaking himself of that traitorous thought, the dark lord summoned a blanket, laying it on the small form before heading next door to his own rooms. Before turning in for the night, Tom threw up some monitoring spells that would let him know if the brat decided to go walk abouts.
