Stan was woken up to the sound of heavy knocking and his name being called from the other side of the hotel room door. He paused for a moment looking around for Oliver but saw he was not there. Stan then looked at the door and hopped out of bed in his oversized flowing nightshirt and floppy socks loose around his toes. Stan opened the door to the panicked matron.

"What is going on?" Stan asked in a sleepy voice.

"Oh, Mr. Laurel! Your companion is going to do something dangerous, and it is my fault!"

"What do you mean something is your fault and it's dangerous? Why Olly is..." Stan looked back into the room with a pause as he searched for Oliver again. He then looked back at the worried matron. "Olly isn't here..."

"That is what I was trying to tell you!"

Stan blinked a few times then turned his head back into the room. Stan then went over to the bed, lifted the end of the cover, looking under it. He proceeded to the dresser, opened and closed all of the drawers, then finally went back to the tearful matron with his own tears of confusion, a frown, and a few scratches to the top of his head.

"He isn't here...! Olly left without me!" Stan cried in a squeaky, upset voice.

"No, no sir! Mr. Hardy went to do a dangerous race to win a rare flower. The race will start soon, and you need to talk him out of-"

Suddenly the sound of a gunshot rattled the air, followed by sounds of cheers and yelling people in the distance.

"Ach meine güte! Das rennen! The run! Thee race!" Cried the matron.

Stan shrieked in worry putting on his derby hat, then galloped out the door.

After a visit to the local doctor's office, Oliver and Stan made it back to the hotel room by the late afternoon.

Oliver had slipped off the side of a 30ft cliff from the running trail but luckily caught the edge of the cliff. Stan luckily got there in the nick of time to help his partner; however, he lost his footing, sending the both of them to the ground. Fortunately, they mostly rolled down the side of the rock wall.

Oliver was left with mostly scrapes and bruises and a sprained back, while Stan broke Oliver's fall by breaking his right arm and left leg. Oliver moaned as he gently put the broken yet smiling Stan on the bed. Oliver sighed, then looked back at the smiling Stan. Stan blinked, nodded his head, and smiled his closed-lipped smile heavily at Oliver.

Oliver did a double-take, wiggled his fingers around then adjusted his hat. Rolling his lips in and widening his eyes at the gleeful-looking Stan, Oliver, hit the edge of the bed with his palm.

"You did not even wink at me the whole time here! Now that you are full of bone splinters, yer' more cheerful than a bowl of cherries!" Oliver boomed.

"I thought you forgot, but you tried to be a noble hero for me," Stan answered.

'What are you going on about? 'I thought you forgot' forgot what?!

A confused look formed on Stan's face as he blinked a few times then looked at Oliver.

"You forgot again!" Stan snapped.

"After everything I have been through just for you not to be so distant and sour with me, you're still distrustful of my thoughts to you." Oliver solemnly said.

"Gee, Olly, you usually think of everything. I thought you would have remembered our first time."

"First time what?!"

"When we first met. Our anniversary..."

"Anniversary-Stan, you-"

"Yes! When we first met!" Stan said with a confident nod and lowered brow. "Remember, it was just like it is now. People were buying a lot of candy and clothing and-and the weather was cool and mild."

Oliver turned away from Stan with a shocked look. Raising his arms then crashing them back to his sides, Mr. Hardy then turned back to Stan with a heavy hop.

"That was Autumn!" Oliver shouted.

"Autumn?"

"Early Autumn, Stan! You always mix it up. I always have to remind you that the difference is that the leaves are falling, not growing!"

Stan looked at Oliver, then blinked a few times, darting his eyes around. Stan scratched his head then shook his head lightly as he slowly rolled his bright sorry blue eyes at Oliver.

"As if I would forget, Stanley. Meeting you was the most important thing that ever happened to me. One of the best things..."

Ollie moaned and turned away from Stan's wordless apology. Oliver crossed his arms, freezing his head towards the door. Stanley shifted himself closer to Oliver, making Ollie scoot a bit away from Stan. Stan then tapped Ollie's shoulder, with Oliver responding by jerking his upper body.

Mr. Hardy quickly looked at Mr. Laurel then turned his head away again.

Stan sighed heavily, shaking his head in regret.

Stanley then laid the side of his face on the back of Oliver's neck and between his shoulders. Ollie blinked a few times then swallowed, slightly loosening his tight pride.

"You remembered." Stan quietly said with a smile.
