Hello guys, welcome back to the story. I hope you guys are doing alright. Sorry for being highly delayed in finishing the chapter. Stay safe, guys.

"May God have mercy upon my enemies because I won't." General Patton

Section Pov - 2:09 pm Point of Destination Santa Cruz Boardwalk

The driver was going fast as he could to the area of the data. I could only imagine what the people are going through. It was barely a year since the USA been invaded by Raul forces. There were still missing people that were presumed dead without finding dead bodies. Even up to today, multiple buildings haven't been rebuilt. Now, a new, unknown army is attacking the people. To make it worse, they had dragons and more unknown creatures.

"Section, we have some problem just ahead," said the driver.

I look up and see massive traffic. I see people getting out of the cars to see upfront. There are also people running away, screaming about hell. Section also views a police officer carrying a KSG and aiming up in the air. Before Section could think of something, he saw a small dragon heading down to the people to eat. The dragon ate the top half of the young officer. The only thing that was left of the poor boy was below the stomach.

I was shocked to see the small dragon this close. As well, terrified that the dragon ate a human in half in one bite. I got out of the vehicle to see if I could shoot the dragon. I grab my M8A1 and try to see if I could locate the dragon. Then I saw the dragon in the sky.

It was greyish with greenish. I could guess that it was around 2-3.5 meters long(6.56-11.48ft). I could think the wingspan is approximately 4-5.25 meters long( 13.1 - 17.2 feet). I saw that the dragon had a type of saddle. I was able to notice in the wings of the dragons that there were some holes. It seemed that if I hit the dragon's wings or the head enough. I got behind the ACV( Amphibious Combat Vehicle). The driver also got out and took out a DSR 50 with an extended magazine with ACOG scope. He began aiming the dragon.

"Shoot the head or the wings!" I commanded.

"Okay, Section," he responded. He began shooting at the dragon. I started shooting with my M8A1. I hit it in the head, though I see that it had little effect on the creature. However, when the bullets hit the wings, it seems that the dragon flinches a bit. Though the DSR 50 did affect the dragon's head. After several ammunition bursts to the right-wing and a shot in the dragon's eye, it took the dragon down. The dragon fell down from the sky. When the dragon had crashed down, it hit the roof of a car. The top of the vehicle was dented quite significantly. The dragon was still alive and moving but could no longer fly or see from its left eye. I grabbed one of my grenades and threw it at the dragon to finish the job. I took cover from another vehicle until I heard the grenade going off. I get back up and see the dragon no longer swaying. I reloaded my M8A1 and started to move forward to the dragon, making sure it was dead.

"Hey, make sure you have the DSR aimed at the dragon," I commanded. I was still unsure if the dragon was still alive, but I did not want to take any opportunities.

"Yes, Section!" the driver responded. He reloaded the DSR 50 and then aim down at the dragon. He was still near the ACV.

I got closer to the dragon and began to examine the body. The skin looks to be very hard to damage. It had minor dents from my M8A1 bullets, though I saw a bigger one that pieced a leg. It seems that it came from the DSR. When I look closer at the wings, they were significantly damaged. There were some smaller holes at the end of the wings, though bigger ones were closer to the body. Some holes came from the KSG from the police officer. Blood spill out of the holes, though much more came from the head. When I took a look in the head, I noticed that there were three holes in total.

One of them was the one on the left socket. When I moved around to check if the bullet came out, it did not have a hole. The second hole that I found was near the dragon's head. I went through the bottom right ear and came near what was supposed to be the dragon's brain. The dragon did not move at all. I checked the body behind. I notice that the grenade did not hit near the head but exploded where the tails start. There are multiple holes, though there was no clear evidence that the fragments left the body. I went back to the head and aim down my rifle. I aim to shot the eyes. Two bursts of four rounds were heard. The dragon moves and growls in pain but falls down. The dragon had died. It took multiple shots from my rifle and several bullets from the DSR 50 to take this beast down.

"Get the vehicle ready; we are going to Perry's Sporting Goods, at 4654 Scotts Valley Dr. There should be people in there trying to defend it and armings themselves. I will contact Admiral Briggs in a few moments." I commanded. The driver took the DSR 50 back to the vehicle. I took out a C-2.21a. It's the old standard model headgear. When the eye frame is on the same level as the eyes, it will look at the pupils to identify the individual. After making sure the individual is known, it will say the name and ranking. It can take photos in high resolution, record audio or/and video, contact other people, use the map, and much more. It could handle 16 gigabytes of space, with eight gigabytes of memory. It also can connect with other devices that are used in the military. It can remember up to 35 others devices to get in contact with. Though it can not let the user talk with other users. It sends just will send the video/audio.

I only had it since I could not get the C-2.24b, and I was supposed to be off duty for two weeks. So I did not think I would need the new model. I took several photos of the dragon and took a minute video. After I finished, I went to the AFC. Once I closed the door, the driver started to go to the gun shop. I took out a military tablet to communicate with Admiral Briggs. After a few seconds, I was able to get in contact with him.

"Hello, Section. What were you able to find?" he asked.

"When we were heading to the portal, we saw a small dragon eating civilians. When I got out of the car, I saw eating a police officer. In one bite, half of the body was eaten. After I took my rifle, and the driver using a DSR 50. The dragon was able to sustain multiple shoots. It was able to withstand M8A1 bullets, though it had trouble with DSR 50 and KSG. Though aiming at the head or at the wings, it will hurt the dragon the most."

"Well, at least we gave the command to the soldiers to use armor-piercing bullets. That should help to deal with the dragons."

"Also, I have some photos, and a video of the dragon is dead."

" Knowing how the dragon looks will help us know how dangerous are these creatures."

"I also found a saddle on the dragon's back. It seems that they tame these dragons to use as air support. Though when we fought the dragon, the saddle was damage, and there was no one near that could ride the dragon. It seems that there will. Be several of these dragons that we must take care of.

I took several photos of the dragon and took a small video of the dragon looking through the injuries. I have some estimates of the size of the dragon, Admiral. I will send the photos to your computer".

"That will help us. Well then, Section what will be your next course of action."

"We are heading to Perry's Sporting Goods, a gun shop. There might be civilians trying to defend the store as a stronghold with all the guns and ammunition. I would like to request air support to help protect this area. If we can withhold this gun store until a proper military unit can settle down, we may use it as a base of operations and a safe haven for fleeing the attackers."

" I will send you a family of dragonflies. Just make sure that those cocksuckers and overgrown lizards are dealt with",

"Yes, Admiral."

"Good luck, Section."

After communications are cut off, I set the radio to hear the police reports. This could help us where we could set up a line of defense until more reinforcements arrive.

Officer Mark - 2:19pm Point of Destination: Perry's Sporting Goods

I was called in to deal with an invading army. I was 12 miles when Officer Mares had requested help. Nothing was heard from him anymore. I went to the Boardwalk the quickest I could. However, the closer I got, the worse the traffic became, and more people ran away. Some were running alone, while others were checking the sky with their guns. It was until he saw a small dragon dive down to a person. I stopped the car and got off the car.

I look around and saw chaos with hundreds of civilians running away from something. I took out my KSG and went outside of the car to get a better view. What I saw in the sky terrified me. I saw several hundred small dragons in the sky. Also, I saw most of the dragons having a person on their backs. I could only assume that they were riding the dragons into battle. I couldn't do anything against the dragons. I saw several dragons diving down to kill more civilians. I knew that I did not have enough firepower and manpower to take on the dragons. I went inside the car and started to drive. I turn on my radio to communicate with the other officers. I look on a GPS and notice that I was less than a mile away from Perry's Sporting Goods store. I knew, in there was weapons and ammunition. Hopefully, it isn't overrun by the invading army, and there are some people inside the store.

"This is Officer Mark; I have spotted hundreds of dragon riders in the sky. I repeat hundreds of dragon riders in the sky. I will be heading to Perry's Sporting Goods store to set up a line of defense. I request air support or heavy weapons to deal with this."

"This is Officer Denis. Send reinforcements to the Armory as well. I have four more officers with two PAC soldiers helping to protect the facility. We have 23 civilians with rifles, shotguns, or handguns ready to defend the area. We already sent a request for reinforcements from the militia and PAC. We are trying to get in contact with other gunshops, but we have received nothing at all. We don't know if the different areas have been overrun; communication is not possible or empty."

"Roger that Officer Denis. Officer Mark, if you can find people defending the gun shop, then radio to confirm. If there is no one there and not destroyed, try to get civilians to enter the store and arms themselves to defend themselves until more reinforcements come by. If you cannot reach the gun store, go to the Armory to help Officer Denis."

"Copy tha-" I was about to respond until another voice came on.

"This is Lieutenant Commander David Mason speaking."

Section POV- 2:17 Point of Destination Perry's Sporting Goods

We headed to the gun store to see if we set up an area to defend and where reinforcements can safely reach. I check what I had on me if I needed to protect myself. I had my M8A1 with four magazines left of ammunition. For my Kap-40, I had one loaded up and two extra magazines. I had three grenades with four flashbangs. This was not good to defend the building. Then I ask the driver a question.

"Do we have anything on the vehicle to helps us? I have an M8A1 and a Kap-40 though ammunition is running low."

" I have a DSR-50 with around 30 shots left and a KAP-40 as well. I have one dragonfly inside the vehicle for heavy equipment, a riot shield, an RPG with three rockets, and a standard LSAT with two how boxes of ammunition. I also have two KSGs though only 20 slugs in total," he responded. He keeps on driving the AFC.

"Okay, that will help us defend the store." The dragonfly would undoubtedly support us to cover blind spots, the RPG against the small dragons. The LSAT would provide heavy power that the rifles could not. The KSG could help if the army brings out something unusual. The riot shield never hurts anyone.

While thinking about the supplies, the driver spoke to me.

"Hear the radio; there might be someone going to a gun store right now.

I turned on the volume of the radio and heard a few officers talking to each other. One officer was able to confirm that the were people in the Armory. There was one going to the same destination that both of them were going to. Before the officer left the radio, I decided to get in contact with the officer.

"Copy tha-,"

"This is Lieutenant Commander David Mason speaking."

Officer Mark- 2:22 pm Point of Destination Perry's Sportings Goods

I was about to copy out when someone joins the conversation. What surprised me the most was that someone in the military. Maybe he could help us.

"Hello, Lieutenant Mason, do you have any plan for the invading forces, especially the dragons. The dragons can eat a human in half in one bite."

"Me and someone else will be arriving at Perry's Sporting Goods and had request AI reinforcements. When we arrive, we have an RPG and KSGs to deal with the dragons and an LSAT for anything else. I heard that Officer Mark will be going to the same place as we are going."

"Yes, I am. The place should be suitable for defense. If you get there before us and it overrun or can't reach the location, just tells us, and we will go to the Armory instead. If you can contact the gunshop, report how many people are there and who they are, such as police officers, military, civilians, children, and how many people are injured and those how taken up arms."

"Copy that Lietunant Mason, Officer Mark, copy out."

5 Minutes Later

I was getting close to the location of the gunshop. The closer I got to it, the more and more people were fleeing in fear. Mothers carrying their children and running while others looking for someone else. Some people were slightly injured while some bodies just collapse to the ground. Men that had rifles or shotguns were going back to the beach. It seems like they would try to buy some time for their loved ones.

Multiple firefighters were helping people find their loves or put out any fires that had happened at the moment in chaos. Ambulances were carrying people that were severely injured. It was pure chaos.

When I kept driving, more polices officers responded to emergencies, and PAC mercenaries moved to a specific location to defend the city. Then I saw the gunshop building. I saw a PAC AFV and two police cars as well multiple people near the gunshop.

"Lieutenant Mark, it's me, Officer Mark. I about to reach the gunshop. I can already see multiple people near the gunshop. It seems that they are preparing to delay the army if they come to this area. PAC and some police officers are already here. I see. if there is someone in command?"

"Copy that, Officer Mares. I will get in contact with someone to get more reinforcements in your area."

"Copy that, Lieutenant. Officer Mark copy out."

I parked out of the gunshop and got out of the car. I took my Five-Seven and KSG with me. I did not know if the invading army were close. However, people are in panic and would do anything for their safety and their loved ones, which means I could be in danger.

I see people taking several Stakeouts and Spas-12s, with some people having M1911, Tac-10s. Others had Ar-15s, M14s, and PSG1. Though there is an extensive selection of guns, ammunition could be a problem. I went inside the store and saw people grabbing the rifles, grabbing ammunition, and setting people up with a weapon to defend the store at any cost. There are even some people with bows and arrows or crossbows.

I see there are some police officers, PAC personal talking to each other. They seem to talk about the defense of the store and when reinforcements would come. I began walking to them to see if they had some information that could be useful for Lientunent Mason.

I began to walk to see what plans they had in mind. When I close to the table, one of the PAC members noticed me and talked with me.

"Do you need anything, officer?" she asked. She has a standard-issued uniform with an M16 rifle variate with her with a simple pistol.

"I barely came here and was wondering what is going on?". I asked honestly. I know the people were defending the store but wanted to know if they expected some reinforcements to secure the area or the people were just here to delay the invading army.

"We are hoping the militia and the US military could come and secure this area. Many people came here for protection from the invading force beyond the strange building. The store owner was here when the building appeared; the invading army showed up, and the first shot was fired and beyond that. The store owner allowed the people take grab weapons and ammunition for self-defense. We radio the militia for help, and they said it will take a while until aid reaches us. We have around 50 people here, with about 35 taking up arms, and luckily we have a nurse helping us with the injured and a therapist here helping the people calm down. There are 45 children below the age of 18, with two of them having trained with bows. We have eight PAC mechanics helping out and four police officers." She explained. It was true. Most adults grab a gun that they were comfortable using and get in position if the army comes at all. Those that are injured are children or are too scared to fight back. Except for the two who know how to use bow and arrow, they seem to help the children.

"I hope the militia can come here to reinforce the area. I have not heard from the US military; the police force is running thin, and PAC personal is limited. Without knowing if the military with help here, we might have to retreat if reinforcements do not come."

That made sense. Even though over 50 people were taking up arms, we would fall down if the invading army was adequately trained and numerous. Then I remembered that I was in contact with Lieutenant Mason.

"Before I came here, I got into contact with Lieutenant Mason. He wanted me to get a general situation here. He said AI reinforcements have already be sent and would arrive in due time. He also told me that he was already on his way to help out if the were people here. I can get in contact with him to notify the US military about our location."

This got the people's attention near the table: Lieutenant Mason, a well-known Lieutenant known for capturing Raul Menendez. If he was coming to help out to defend the store, morale with go up, and with some reinforcements, they could hold on until more personal could reach here.

"I could get in contact with him so we could coordinate the defense of the store." I got my radio and start to talk to the Lieutenant.

" Lieutenant Mason, this is Officer Mares. I am in contact with the police officer and PAC personal. They seem very concerned about waiting for reinforcements."

"Copy that, Officer Mares. I am almost there. Just hold on. I will get in contact with someone to send reinforcements to Perry's Sporting Store and the Armory. This is Lieutenant Mason copy out."
