Nightmare and Mad were walking down the halls. Two guards escorted them. Mad looks at them, analyzing his chances of success. Result: the chances of him escaping with Nightmare were almost zero. The chances of escaping alone were only two percent. Not to mention the wounds he would likely have when he ran away. Therefore, the best thing to do was not to escape.
Anyway, they soon arrive at the quarters where the soldiers were. Nightmare comes in first so there won't be much uproar over the wolf's presence there. As soon as he enters the soldiers stop what they are doing and salute. Nightmare just smiles and makes a movement with his hands that meant resting. Soldiers obey.
Nightmare then abruptly pulls the wolf, he stumbles on himself and falls off balance. He almost fell. Mad then snarls at Nightmare. The soldiers, like the guards who escorted them before, stand guard. Mad just lowers his ears and snarls. Nightmare just watches for a moment but then takes action.
—Hey! Can you calm down please? The wolf is my new bodyguard. And it will be until you tell me what I want to know. —He says, giving Mad a threatening look. Mad took a step back. —Don't even think about running away... Wolfy...
—I already told you... —Mad says between growls. Nightmare shrugs.
—Anyway... He's going to train with you from now on... By the way... There's no use saying that to my father... I'm not going to change my mind... Said Nightmare that left the room. Mad growls when the door closes. He looks at it and, when he turns around, is surprised by a white bear that was too close. Mad looked at him confused. His ears still low. He tries to walk away but the bear follows him.
—You think you're special, right? —The soldier says, looking the wolf up and down. —You try to capture the Crown Prince, you're is captured and ends up becoming his bodyguard...
—I don't care about any of that... —Mad says. —I just can't go home without him and...
—Shut up, wolf! —The guard yells, cutting Mad's speech. —If you touch the prince, wolfy... I will...
—You are not going to do anything! And you better stop calling me wolfy! —Mad says, approaching the soldier threateningly. He laughs softly.
—And what are you going to do, wolfy? Huh? —Mad growls with his teeth bared.
—Don't tease me... I'm not a dog that you disgrace when you want to...
—And you think that scares me, little wolf? Have you ever heard that barking dogs don't bite? —The soldier says in a mocking tone.
Mad's blood boils. He clenches his fists and growls loudly. His eyes shine with the hatred that ran in his blood. He then punches the white bear hard in the face. He staggers and falls into the arms of the other soldiers. His fur and uniform stain with the blood that dripped from his nose. Mad looks at him, breathing deeply still with clenched fists.
—Learn at once... My name is Mad... And if someone else calls me wolfy... I'll do worse... Much worse... —Mad says and goes to the beds, passing through the middle of all the other soldiers.
He chooses a bed away from the door and the confusion that arose from his little slip. He looks at his fist, still dirty with the bear's red blood. He watches for a moment before deciding to close his eyes and sleep. But instead of sleeping he plans what he is going to do. He urgently needed a plan to catch Nightmare.
And that's when he has an idea. His hairs stand on end, his body is restless. "What are you thinking you stupid wolf!" He thinks, "Besides not having a chance to work, this is disgusting!" Mad shakes his head at that thought. "But, maybe, this is the best way to get out of here with that idiot..."
Mad sighs. He didn't really want to do that, but he didn't have many options. "Very well..." He thinks "It looks like I'm going to be more than just a bodyguard for this wretched bear..." He growls low. "Let the fun begin..."
Will Mad's plan work? Will Nightmare fall for it? And the soldiers? Will they really care to respect Mad? Find out in the next chapter...
