Thankyou for reading! I hope you guys enjoy this. It's a bit of a filler chapter, but I hope you like it :) Please review!

"So at this stage, the baby is five and a half inches long, and about the size of a chicken breast."

"I don't think a chicken breast would move around this much."

Almost five months into her pregnancy, and Penny had come with Leonard for their mid term baby scan. They had been waiting for two hours, thanks to Leonard's insistence that 'there might be traffic!' Turns out they had been incredibly early, leaving Penny leafing through a magazine, while her husband pored over the sea of leaflets attached to the wall. He had been studying every single page of them, as well as the pregnancy books Raj had insisted they buy. Still: Penny was pleased to have Leonard as a support. He was so excited, it was adorable.

If she was entirely honest, Penny was feeling somewhat anticipatory. She loved their baby, but the last time she'd seen him or her, it had been a tiny speck. It had been a rough few months since then: was she a monster for not bonding yet? Leonard had, and he wasn't even carrying the baby. Leaning back in her chair, watching the occasional staff member pass through.

"I need those notes on your neuropathy patient-" A petite, raven haired doctor was talking to one of the nurses: file in hand, leaning to look at one of the station computers. Not particularly interesting for Penny to watch, until-

"I'll send those to you straight away, Dr. Chua."

Wait- that was the name of the doctor Raj had been spending time with over the past couple of weeks. She was pretty, black hair braided down her back, definitely way out of her friend's league. In her opinion, anyway-

"Leonard-"

"Yeah?"

"Hofstadter?"

Damn timing. She'd have to find out more about this mystery woman later. She moved to stand up, dropping the boring, dated magazine back on the table. Time to go and see how her and Leonard's baby was doing. The sheer excitement on her husband's face was absolutely adorable.

It had been a fun few weeks for Seren. She had been working almost non stop, but her free days, and some of her evenings had been spent with Raj. They had been to movies, she had cooked, she had been having a pretty good time. He was sweet, interesting, and rather handsome- ah, hell.

Seren had spent the previous evening working, but today was her last day before the weekend. She had accepted an invite to Raj's planetarium show: she liked astronomy, it was an interesting field. Why was she a little nervous, though? She didn't know. But it would be fun, she was certain.

The day was a slow one: she collected notes on a couple of new patients with neurological problems, and donated a few hours to the hospital's general clinic. That didn't particularly help things fly by. Endless patients who didn't read prescription instructions, or thought their heat rash was a deadly blistering condition. Still, she kept a smile, and dealt with it. Only a handful of hours until she could get home.

"Dr. Chua, you're needed down on the wards."

Giving a soft sigh as she accepted patient notes from a passing doctor, and began the journey towards the elevators. Looked like it would be a few hours.

"And how are you feeling?"

"Pretty tired, but the sickness is gone, at least." Penny was a little nervous for her baby appointment, but at least they got to see what their baby looked like now. Her stomach had certainly swelled up enough: it was definitely going to be bigger than the little speck they had seen last time.

Lifting her head a little as she settled onto the exam table, flashing her husband a small smile when he reached to move her hair out from under her. Leonard was being a sweetheart, as always: she could tell he was excited to see the baby. Taking her hand in his, pressing a kiss to the back of it, while the midwife moved the ultrasound probe on her stomach.

"There we go, there's your baby."

"Wow-"

The sheer delight on Leonard's face was adorable, Penny had to admit that. He had looked the same at their first scan, but she still hadn't felt it back then. When would she feel exactly like her husband did?

"Here we go," The midwife turned the screen a little, to make it easier for them to see. Penny turned her head a little to look, feeling Leonard squeeze her hand as she did so. She felt the baby squirm inside her, but most surprisingly? Penny could see the small baby shape on the screen move. Adorably soft looking cheeks, and little arms and legs- oh, there it was. She felt a strange tug at her heart, her next words getting stuck in her mouth. Definitely not a little speck anymore.

"Isn't that just so cute?" Leonard mused aloud, pressing another kiss to his wife's hand.

"Definitely.."

"Would you like to know the sex?" The midwife queried, taking notes of a few things for them. Penny kept watching her baby move around, before glancing to her husband for his opinion. His head tilted a little, lifting his shoulders in a small shrug.

"I mean, it couldn't hurt to prepare-"

"I want to know," Penny was a little startled by the certainty in which she answered that, but also delighted by it at the same time. Leonard noticed her reaction, too: squeezing her hand a little. She had been worried about not quite bonding with their baby yet, he was glad to see her excited about something.

"Then let's find out."

Both of them turned their attention back to the midwife, who continued to gently move the ultrasound probe. Studying the baby, and offering them a smile once she had determined it.

"Looks like a little girl, congratulations. See? She's sucking her thumb."

"A girl.." Were Leonard's eyes watering? Just a little. Penny's eyes were fixed on the screen, unwavering. It wasn't just 'a baby' anymore. That was her little girl, her and Leonard's daughter. She was going to have the most adorable little one.

"Can we have pictures?"

"Of course, Mrs. Hofstadter. She's looking great, but if you need anything, do call."

Twenty minutes later, and they were both on their way out, Leonard still peering at the pictures in his hands. They said all ultrasounds often looked the same, but he was insistent that these didn't. Their baby girl, their child- his daughter. How did he raise a girl? He wasn't sure, but he and Penny would do it together.

"She's going to be beautiful, like you." Leonard squeezed Penny's hand, smiling when she leant over to look at the pictures again. She was finally feeling connected to the little life in her belly: and thinking about the future. They'd have a baby girl soon. She could play with Halley- it would be adorable.

"Should we call your Mom?"

"Yeah. And we should also go house hunting and buy life insurance, but we're not doing that either."

That made Penny laugh: linking an arm with him and heading towards the elevators. She was looking forward to getting home, and telling their friends about the baby later that night. Digging her phone out as they waited for the elevator, temporarily busying herself with texting her father, and mother. Heading into the elevator once the doors slid open.

"Excuse me-"

"Sure, sorry-" She stepped a little to the side at the request from the unfamiliar voice- hold on. Had she heard that before? Glancing up from her phone confirmed that yes: the doctor she had seen earlier was leaning to press one of the floor numbers, folders tucked under one arm.

"Seren, right?"

"...Yes, do I know you?" The ravenette's puzzled reaction was mirrored almost entirely on Leonard's face, too: the male briefly puzzled as to why his wife was talking to a total stranger. She was the social butterfly of the two, but-

"You're Raj's new friend, right?"

Now that clicked in Leonard's brain: interesting. So this was who Raj had been spending time with: it seemed they were finding out a lot of interesting things today. Naturally, he had been more curious to find out more information about their baby, but this was definitely fascinating. How had their friend not managed to scare her off yet?

"I guess so.." Seren felt a little awkward, clearly rather shy. She had not been anticipating meeting any of Raj's friends yet- especially not like this. Hugging her notes to her, gaze flickering up to the elevator floor screen, before back to the two strangers. She was about to speak again, but her floor was only a couple down. Flashing an apologetic smile when the doors pinged open.

"Sorry, I've got to get going- it was nice to meet you, briefly."

"You too."

Seren headed on out of the elevator, giving a shy wave as she did so. She wasn't too keen on meeting new people, but they had seemed nice, at least. Raj told her good things about his friends: she could assume from that that she'd just met Penny, and her husband Leonard. Pretty blonde, quiet, short-ish husband, that seemed close enough. Seren would like to meet them properly at some point, but, definitely not when she was trying to get back to work, and definitely not a random meeting.

"I can't believe you're having a girl!" Had Penny expected Amy's sheer delight at news about their baby? Honestly, yes. They were less than ten minutes into pizza night, and her best friend had spent the last eight minutes melting over the pictures of their baby.

"Well, it could only have gone one of two ways," Sheldon countered, more occupied by picking up a slice of pizza, and a napkin. The almost apathy made Leonard roll his eyes, handing his wife a bottle of water, and giving her a gentle kiss to the cheek.

"I'm really happy for you two. She can play with Halley," Bernadette had leant over to look at the picture in Amy's hands, before reaching to take it. She definitely thought a lot of them looked the same, but the joy on her friends' faces was adorable. She knew she had been right. How many times had she told Penny that she'd eventually bond with her unborn baby? Bernadette had lost count, and was feeling a little smug.

"And we met Raj's secret lady friend."

That teasing comment from Penny earned a raised brow from their friend: he was sitting on the floor, alternating between texting on his phone, and taking bites out of a slice of pizza.

"I know, she said ."

"Are you two going on a date, ever, or is it just 'friends?'" Howard asked, which prompted an eye roll from his best friend.

"Friends, and we haven't been on a date, but she's coming to the planetarium show tomorrow."

"So you haven't imagined your dream wedding and what your children would look like?" Penny asked, giving her friend a grin as he protested.

"Hey, don't drag the babies into this! ...born around a year after our beautiful spring wedding."

The surprise meet hadn't particularly bothered Seren. She had spent the rest of her shift checking on patient after patient, and the trip home had been greatly improved by the collection of her Chinese food order. Seren was looking forward to that: it would certainly lift her day up a little more. Friday night was looking like her takeout night.

It was dark by the time she got back to her apartment: her shifts ran late, but at least she had a couple of days off. Seren was looking forward to the planetarium the next day, and planned on spending the Sunday exploring more of the city. She had been here several months by now, and honestly, work was eating up ninety percent of her time. Busying herself with unboxing her order of szechuan and noodles, humming happily.

Her phone's Facetime call noise almost made her groan, but she straightened up a little once noticing it was Rajesh. Seren found herself briefly smoothing her slightly messy hair, before propping her phone against a food box, and tapping to answer the call.

"Hello."

"Hey, Seren- sorry, is it a bit late?"

"No, it's fine, I only just got back. How about you?"

"Same here, I just got back from my friends'. I was just wondering if we were still on for the planetarium tomorrow."

"Yeah, of course," Seren smiled, continuing to unbox her food, before sitting down at the island. Hands folding in her lap.

"Maybe after we could get some dinner?"

"Sure thing."

"And maybe it could be more like a date?" He sounded nervous, and Seren definitely understood how he was feeling. The suggestion had her feeling a little nervous, but, not in a particularly bad way. She would go. Why not?

"Yes, okay, that works for me. I'll see you at the planetarium tomorrow?"

"I'll see you there. Have a good night, Seren."

"You too." A smile, before she reached to press the end call button. She was excited. Where would they be going? She wasn't sure. Spearing a piece of the chicken, and popping it into her mouth. She was quite happy. America was turning out to be rather pleasant.
