It was Mr. Hatake's's class in the first period once again. As usual, he gave his students questions to do with that smug eye crease on his face while he himself sat down to read his smut book written by his favourite author. Unbeknownst to them, the author, Jiraiya-sama was actually Naruto's godfather. The questions were quite easy so Sasuke completed them in only 20 minutes and emailed them to his teacher. He pinned Sakura's video to see that she had completed her work too and was now reading a book. Mustering up enough courage, Sasuke typed a message and sent it to her.
Sakura lifted her head from her book when her laptop dinged with a notification. She checked it to see it was from Sasuke.
Sasuke Uchiha (privately):
Hi
Sakura Haruno (privately):
Hey
Sasuke Uchiha (privately):
How is lockdown going on?
Sakura Haruno (privately):
Ugh terrible. I miss the ocean, so much.
Sasuke Uchiha (privately):
And the smell of it.
Sasuke saw Sakura nodding her head from the other side of his screen. His lips curved upwards in a smile.
Sakura Haruno (privately):
Yes
Sasuke Uchiha (privately):
So what is your favourite flower?
Never in his life did Sasuke think that he would ever ask a girl about her favorite flower. If Itachi saw the text, he would laugh his ass off at Sasuke's expense and lack of social interactions. He saw Sakura's scrunched-up-nose thinking position from the other side of the screen. Based on her hair color, Sasuke thought it was probably cherry blossoms but it wasn't so.
Sakura Haruno (privately):
Sunflowers.
I love how they move towards the sun during the day and when there is no sun, they face each other.
It reminds me of mine and Ino's bond. Ino is my best friend btw.
Sasuke Uchiha (privately):
Yeah. So is our discussion on today?
Sakura Haruno (privately):
Yeah. After the lecture ends.
Unbeknownst to them, Kakashi was noticing both of his favourite students' (not that he will ever tell them) interactions through their facial expressions. It was time for some 'matchmaking'. Even the feelings made him giddy and he refrained himself from skipping. He soon ended the lecture.
This time, Sakura made the meeting id and waited for Sasuke to join after two hours of 's class. He joined after a few minutes but she noticed that he didn't turn on his video. She wondered why. And Sakura never liked questions so she ended up asking, "Hey. Why is your video turned off?"
"Umm. Actually, I can't turn on the video now."
"But why?"
"My mother has cut my hair and now it looks kinda weird."
"Heyyyyy. Thats not fair. Turn on the video. I promise I will not laugh at you."
When Sasuke asked his mother to cut his long hair, he didn't expect her to cut his bangs so short. Now he would have to wait for months before they came back to their original size. He wanted to smack Itachi for laughing at him but instead, he asked his mother to cut his brother's elbow-length hair too. He took a smug satisfaction in the fact that his mother agreed to do so and also in the fact that Itachi had a scowl on his face throughout the haircut. Now, when Sakura asked him so sweetly to turn on his video, he knew he had to give in to her wish. He turned on the video to see Sakura's reaction and as expected, she was trying not to let go off her giggles. He scowled at her reaction and resisted the childish urge to show his tongue.
"Sorry sorry. It's just that you look different now with the short hair." He thought that Sakura no more considered him good looking. His thoughts might have shown on his face so Sakura, with her blush-stained cheeks, quickly corrected, "You still look good. You just look different in a good way. I am not saying that you didn't look good before but."
Before she continue her hurried rant, Sasuke lifted his hand palm up, chuckled a bit and stopped her, "It is okay. I asked my mother to cut my hair but she cut it too short for my liking."
"Yeah. It will grow soon."
Sasuke shrugged and asked her to continue the discussion of their projects. Sakura agreed wholeheartedly. She shared her screen to show the information she found on Google. Sasuke found out that information she found out was quite appropriate.
"Then we can include tomatoes in the list of vegetables."
Before Sakura could continue with her ideas, Sasuke intervened, "Wait, tomatoes are fruits."
"What are you talking about? Tomatoes are vegetables."
"How did you pass from your school? Tomatoes are fruits."
"You are wrong."
"No."
"Yes, you are wrong. We cook tomatoes so they are vegetables."
"No. I eat them raw. They have seeds inside so they are fruits."
"What? How can you eat tomatoes raw?" Sakura scrunched up her nose in disgust so Sasuke went to the rescue of his beloved tomatoes.
"Tomatoes are healthy and tasty."
"Yeah but we need to cook them, right?"
"You don't cook fruits. You can eat them raw."
"Sasuke, they are vegetables."
Sasuke had a deadpanned look on his face and said, "Check the google."
"Nice idea."
Sakura took out her phone and googled 'Are tomatoes fruits or vegetables?'
"A tomato is technically the fruit of the tomato plant, but it's used as a vegetable in cooking."
Sasuke smirked at the answer and said, "So Miss-know-it-all, is tomato still a vegetable?"
"It said 'vegetable in cooking' so yes, tomato is both a vegetable and fruit."
Sasuke shrugged and asked her to continue the discussion again. He gave his ideas in between as he kept on typing on his laptop. After the entire project was planned out properly, Sasuke and Sakura decided that they would start the project from the next day and complete it in two weeks from then. After Sasuke would finish the typing portion, Sakura would set the appropriate pictures in the required spaces. They were sure to score good marks in their combined project.
