Chapter 3: Welcome to Camp Half Blood
Katie POV:
The kid stared her dead in the eyes.
And then burst into chuckles.
"Now I understand what is going on. You know you almost got me there Ms. actor. With those realistic costumes and probably machine dogs. Now you can get all your hidden cameramen of the tv show out. Though the prank was cool, I had STRONGLY recommend not doing this to kids. Sheesh. What if I had a heart attack. Do you even know how much that would have pained me? Not to forget the hospital bills and…"
The kid trailed off as at this moment Will started banging his head repeatedly on the wall.
"Looks like one of your crew actors has gone mad."
And that was the breaking point for Will apparently.
"WHERE DO YOU GET THESE THOUGHTS FROM KID?"
"From the brain. Duh. And you were supposed to be the doctor in the scene."
The kid had a disappointed look on his face.
"Katie can you please take care of him? I need some sun" Will asked pleadingly to her.
She just sighed and nodded. Will went out of the room thanking Katie. Katie then turned to the kid.
"So where are the cameramen?"
This is going to be one long day.
"So, kid listen me out. Though please do not interrupt me in between, ok? After I complete you can ask me as many questions as you want ok?"
The kid nodded at that.
I think he is as confused by us as we are by him.
"The gods are real, kid. Listen to me, listen to me! Do you think it is possible to make you fight with an actress and then when stab you him he just disintegrates? The mortals, I mean normal humans, have advanced a lot in terms of technology, yes, but do you think they can create those visual effects and deceive your eyes so badly?" I questioned.
The kid got seemed to ponder over that.
"No, the humans can't have such advanced technology, I guess. You were correct. Seems like the gods are real, and one of them is my parent." The kid replied, though, at the end of the sentence he seemed to deflate and it seemed all the happiness out of him was sucked out.
"Hey, kid, why so sad dude? One of your parent is a freaking god! You should be all giddy and happy!"
The kid looked me, and I could SEE the sadness in his eyes.
"One of my parents is a god, that is he/she is immortal, and not once, even ONCE THAT FREAKING IMMORTAL BEING DECIDED TO VISIT ME. WHENEVER I NEEDED SOMEONE, SOMEONE TO BE THERE FOR ME, NOBODY WOULD BE THERE. AND YOU KNOW WHAT? THIS IS GREAT! I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD DANCE KNOW THAT I KNOW THAT MY PARENT IS A SUPERPOWERFUL BEING WHO CAN MEET ME WHENEVER HE/SHE PLEASES BUT STILL DID NOT EVEN BAT THEIR EYELASH TOWARDS ME AND BOTH MY PARENTS JUST DUMPED ME IN AN ORPHANGE. Some nice parents I have got, eh?
I just stared at the kid, not knowing what to do. I understand his sentiment I really do, at least a part of it. My mother did not visit me even once before I was claimed at CHB. But my dad was the best dad anyone could get. But ever since Percy had asked the gods to meet their children more often, they had accepted his request. They had altogether just left the Ancient Laws in the dust, though they could still not help their children in battles or else they may face some repercussions for that. The gods would also go as far as meeting their children before they even knew that the gods existed, albeit posing as mortals. Of course, they would NOT meet their kid if the said kid lived in some monster hotspot. But the kid would not understand. Even though his godly parent would be avoiding him for his good, he would not understand. After all, he is still just a kid, wishing for his parents to be there for him when he needed them. So, I just sat there in silence, letting the kid sink all the information in his head, and letting him calm down.
"Sorry for the outburst" The kid blurted out after some minutes, his face red from embarrassment.
"It is ok kid" I said to him, smiling at him.
"I know you probably wont listen to me and neither understand even if you did, not at least now, but whatever your godly parent did was to keep you safe"
"How in the name of Elon Musk is that going to help me?"
"Many reasons, keeps the monsters away from you, blah blah blah. Now enough talk, I shall give thee a tour of the haven for demigods, almighty sir" I said grinning, dragging the kid out.
That made the kid laugh and I felt a lot happy for taking his dull, mood off him.
"I give you permission to give me a tour for this camp you speak of Lady Stranger that I don't know the…. Wow" The kid trailed off as I opened the door of the infirmary and for the first time, he saw camp.
Mystery Demigod POV:
The camp was beautiful. It was so elegant in every way. The huge cabins, the large campfire, the …. Climbing wall with lava underneath it, weird, but still beautiful nonetheless. The place seemed to radiate a buzz of energy. There were a few campers scattered around my area of vison. None of them seemed to notice me, but I liked it that way. I did not want to garner unnecessary attention to myself.
The girl beside me just laughed at my amazed expression, and as much as I tried to fake scowl at her, the wondering and curious look did not leave my face, along with that small traitorous smile.
"My name is Katie Gardner. What is …" she was replying when she was interrupted.
"Hey" A girl with honey blonde hair came running towards us.
"Hey Anna" Katie replied to her.
"Do not call me that. Anyway, how are you feeling kid, and Katie did you tell him about the Gods?"
"Yes Annabeth, I told him about the gods"
"How am I feeling? Good question. A brilliant one, in fact. The answer is, I feel the same way as a 13 and half years old kid would when he woke up in an infirmary after being chased by monsters that weren't supposed to exist, and being told by some random girl that Greek freaking gods exist. So yeah, I feel tip top. Oh, and not to forget that one of those almighty gods is my parent, and they ignored me and did not help me when I needed it. So, I feel tip top, with a cherry on top. Hey! That rhymed!"
The two girls stared at each other and said at the same time
"Not another sassy kid!"
"And you last sentence did not rhyme, you see, words rhyme when they are different. And you used the same word in the end of both the sentences. So that is not called rhyming." The blonde girl ranted at me with a disappointed face on as if she was hurt by mistake.
I stared at Katie.
"This is not the first time, eh?" I asked her.
"Nope" she replied.
"Hey you know I am still here!" The blonde girl exclaimed, her face a bit red, either by embarrassment or anger. The latter most likely.
"Anyways Katie, I was heading toward the dining pavilion, the lunch is almost halfway done. We should go. We need to have enough energy for today's capture the flag."
"Oh Styx! I forgot about lunch. Kid lets first eat, ok? I will give you a tour of the camp after the lunch okay?"
I nodded towards her and all three of us made our way to the dining pavilion.
Apparently, I jinxed myself by saying that I was happy by the lack of attention because as soon as we reached the dining pavilion, hundreds of eyes turned to stare at our small group.
A half horse half man (?) noticed me and beckoned me towards him. After looking back towards Katie and receiving a reassuring nudge, I made my way towards him.
The half horse half man stood up and put his arms around my shoulders, probably in a reassuring way, but I flinched, though controlled my body well enough to make the moment a small one. Even if the half horse half man noticed it, he didn't ask me nor showed any reaction on his face. The half horse half man cleared his throat and tapped a spoon on his glass, garnering attention of imaginary people, because let's be honest, everyone was already scrutinizing me under their gazes from the moment I entered the pavilion.
"Campers! We have a new kid with us today. He was being chased by monsters yesterday, and ended up, thanks to the fates, at the border of our camp, our home, the safe haven for demigods."
"He was injured, though nothing fatal, but still I hope he is fit and brownies by now" He said this sentence directing his gaze towards me with a small smile and a twinkle in his eyes. All the campers seemed to smile at that, and some even burst into laughter, and a boy seemed to be ablaze on fire and laughing? You know I am going to just ignore it. This place is weird. I looked back towards the half horse half man and locked my eyes with his. His gaze was soft, unlike the scrutinizing one of the others. It seemed to say 'However you are, whoever you are, powerful or weak, I will be by your side'. The half horse half man's smile was contagious and my face was covered by a large smile, and I nodded towards him, saying that I was fine.
"Good. So, I would like to welcome the kid, officially, to Camp Half Blood!" Half horse half man guy said.
Everybody clapped as if welcoming me, though only some of them seemed to be genuinely happy by me being here. Some were nonchalant, their face saying along the lines "Another one, nothing new, happens all the time, I don't care" and this was shown on the face of this guy on the head table sitting along with the half horse half man guy with a purple shirt with leopard dots on it. Though what made me nervous was a select few hateful faces, and it seemed that they did want to clap, just with me being in between their hands and crushing me like a tin can.
"Oh, I forgot to ask, kid, what's your name?" Half horse half man guy asked me, interrupting my train of thoughts.
I looked around the pavilion. My gaze fixed on a guy, a few years older than me, sitting alone on a table, his gaze towards me, as piercing as an arrow, as if judging me, with a stoic expression on his face, not a single feeling leaking from it.
I stared at those sea green eyes, though these just showed a storm brewing, a storm in the seas,
"Alexander, my name is Alexander."

"Also, sir, can you please tell me you name? Calling you half horse half man guy in my head is very long and annoying as hell."
Sooooo. Yeah. I hope you liked this chapter. Not the best that I think that I can write, but still good enough, I guess. Also, the reason that I chose Alexander as the name of the demigod is because Alexander means defender of men, defender of the people or protector of men, and since, as you all would have guessed by now, Alexander is going to be the son of Poseidon, and since many children of the sea have the fatal flaw loyalty, defender of people seems fitting. So, I guess that's it, will meet y'all next time. Also, it would motivate me a lot if you guys review! Thanks! Bye!
Note: I have not proofread this chapter, so please bear with me and please forgive for any grammatical mistakes.
