Inko

Her baby was gone.

He died a hero.

Saving the world for what felt like the millionth time at this point

She remembers when he had first told her of his dream

How she simply smiled and nodded saying that he'll be a great hero

How when they learned he was quirkless and he asked if he could still be a hero.

How her only answer was to break down and cry with him, telling him she's sorry.

How she watched him, day after day, hold onto that belief, to be a hero.

How she would find burnt school uniforms and bloodied towels in the trash

How she could see right through that fake smile every time she told him to have a good day,

As if a good day didn't exist.

The only time he ever truly smiled was when he watched videos of Pro Heroes and wrote in his notebooks.

She has all his notebooks now.

Around 50 of them.

She loved watching the videos of her baby, the number one hero, geeking out over sidekicks, interns, and other pros.

But now her baby was gone.

Mothers should never bury their sons.

She comforted Eri, who she grew to love as if she was her own daughter.

Eri even referred to Mirio and Izuku as her brothers once

She met with Katsuki in the hospital.

He told her what happened, the real story about how the world lost a hero…

She remembers crying when she first heard Izuku got a quirk.

Though the strikingly familiar blue eyes of his "trainer" and subsequent super strength should have tipped her off

She was too happy (and scared) for her boy.

She watched as he tore himself apart to help a classmate better himself.

She eventually learned of One for All after witnessing more than just super strength.

She grounded him for a month, not that it did anything

He was a hero even before he became a Pro

She watched him grow from a timid, small boy to a more confident, although still slightly timid, pro hero.

She is well aware of the "He is a cinnamon roll" comments when they watch him blunder interviews and geek out about quirks

She watched as he rose the ranks alongside his friends.

She watched as he became the world's hero.

But now as she watches the whole of Japan, if not the world, take a collective moment of silence

Only then does she realize that her baby brought peace to a chaotic world, brought hope of a better future

She couldn't help but smile at that

Inko Midoriya passed away years later at the age of 81, surrounded by family and friends.

By then, Deku's legacy still lived on in the next Symbol of Peace,

In the lives he helped protect,

In the millions he inspired.
