A/N: There's Chapter 3, R&R please.
Chapter 3 - Sawtooth
Sanny's POV
I was an Omega of the Yosemite Pack in, well…Yosemite National Park. Original, I know. Yet here I was, scouring the Sawtooth landscape with my younger Alpha sister, Lillian, for our brother, who's been missing for nearly two years now. It was almost morning and Lillian and I were wandering through a field, while we decided our next course of action.
"Remind me again why I'm here." I said, after we stopped for a break.
Lillian sighed, "this is a personal mission for our parents, they couldn't come, because they have to lead the pack, so I was the only one able to go." She explained, "unfortunately, our brother disappeared before I was born, so I need you with me to recognize Humphrey when we find him."
"He looks like you." I said, "but with Mom's eyes and without your socks."
"Are you going to keep teasing me about my white paws?" Lillian asked. I detected annoyance in her voice, but also slight amusement.
I chuckled, "of course." I answered, "it's my job as your older sister to do that."
"I outrank you though." Lillian said.
I smiled, "age comes before rank." I replied, smugly.
Lillian frowned at me, "besides, there's a lot of wolves that look like me, Sanny." Lillian added, ignoring the remarks from a few moments ago, "I need you to recognize his scent."
"I did." I said, "we picked it up by that golf course and followed it to that human cabin."
"Where it disappeared." Lillian pointed out, "we may have to accept the fact that we'll never find him."
I nodded in understanding, "now, I'm going to report back to Aunt Pamuy." Lillian said, "you want to come with?"
I shook my head, "no, I think I'll just catch a train home." I answered, "I'll see you later."
Lillian nodded, then turned around and left in the direction we came, while I headed in the direction of the train tracks. Shortly after I reached them, I heard the familiar whistle of a train and it started rumbling past me after a few moments. I ran alongside it and quickly jumped into an open train car, only to land on something furry.
Kate's POV
I had gotten up well before dawn and caught a train south to Idaho. It's been a few hours now and the sun was starting to peak over the mountains, as I finally entered Sawtooth. The train exited a tunnel and the golf course, where Humphrey and I first met Marcel and Paddy, came into view. Figuring this was where Humphrey most likely got off, I jumped off the train and made my way towards the golf course.
I cautiously approached the golf course, making sure there weren't any humans around, and stepped out of the trees. "Hey there!" A female voice called out.
I turned in the direction of the voice and saw a she-wolf with similar gray fur as Humphrey, but with white paws, like she was wearing human socks, approach me. She looked to be barely under a year old and by how she walked, I could tell she was an Alpha.
"Hello." I said, "I didn't know there were other wolves here."
"How long have you been here?" the she-wolf asked, as she sat down just a few feet away from me. I noticed her eyes were a lavender color similar to my sister, Lilly's.
"I just got here." I answered, "but a friend of mine and I were here a couple days ago and now I came back looking for him."
I noticed the she-wolf squint her eyes at me, "what's your name?" she asked.
"Kate." I answered, "yours?"
"Lillian." the she-wolf answered.
I chuckled, "my sister's name is Lillian." I said, "although, everyone just calls her Lilly."
"My sister and I have been here for a couple days searching for our brother." Lillian explained, "he's been missing for nearly two years now."
"I guess that means you've never met him?" I asked.
Lillian looked down sadly and her ears drooped, "I've personally never met him, but from how my sister and parents talk about him, I can tell he's a good wolf." She said.
"Well, I hope you find him." I replied, then started to leave.
"We came close yesterday." Lillian said, making me stop in my tracks, "we found his scent here along with the scent of another she-wolf, they were only about a day old at the time."
I turned around to see Lillian frowning at me, "that scent matches yours." she said, "I know you were with Humphrey, so don't think you can fool me."
I widened my eyes in surprise and gasped, "where…is…Humphrey?" Lillian asked, demandingly, "I know you know."
A tear fell down my face, "well, I have to say you're not much of an Alpha, if you break down at a simple question." Lillian said.
I shook my head, "I…I don't…" I choked out, as I sat down, "I…don't know."
Lillian snarled at me, "don't lie to me!" she growled.
"That's the truth!" I exclaimed, tears now running down my face, soaking my fur, "he left Jasper yesterday afternoon and I thought he would've headed to Sawtooth."
"If Humphrey was here, we would've found him." Lillian replied, then frowned, "are you sure he took a train south?"
I nodded, "absolutely." I answered.
Lillian chuckled, which took me off-guard, "well, no worries then." she said.
"Huh?" I asked, confused.
Lillian smiled at me, "my sister just hopped onto a train a couple hours ago to go back home." she explained, "I'd bet anything that he's on that train as well."
"Why would he keep going south though?" I asked.
"What rank was he in your pack?" Lillian asked.
"He was our Omega Leader." I answered.
Lillian nodded, "he probably overslept then." she replied, "if you don't mind me asking, what was he to you?"
"Nothing." I answered, then shrugged, "at least at the moment, but I love him."
"How about you come with me?" Lillian suggested, "I'm heading to my Aunt's pack in Yellowstone to give a report before heading back home to Yosemite."
"Uhh, you live in one pack, but help another pack?" I asked, confused.
Lillian chuckled, "I'll explain along the way." she said, then started walking towards the east, "come on."
I wiped the tears from my face, then stood up and followed Lillian to her Aunt's pack. I'll find you soon, Humphrey. I thought to myself, I promise.
Humphrey's POV
I was sleeping peacefully on the wooden floor, as the train chugged along the tracks, when I was suddenly crushed under the weight of another wolf. My entire body was in pain, as I felt my rib cage collapse, and I was jolted awake from said pain. The wolf quickly realized what they were lying on top of and climbed off me.
"Oh, Fenrir, I'm so sorry, Mister!" The wolf exclaimed, and I realized it was a female.
I gasped for breath and she frowned, "I'm not that heavy!" She growled.
"No, I…never said you were." I said, "I just have weak ribs."
The she-wolf raised an eyebrow at me, "what?" I asked.
"Who are you?" She asked.
"I'm an Ome…a lone wolf." I answered, "you?"
"Omega Leader of the Yosemite Pack." She answered, "my name's Sanny."
"Sanny." I muttered under my breath, "why does that name sound familiar?"
"Hello?" Sanny asked, "you just going to sit there? Or are you going to tell me your name?"
"Oh, sorry." I said, "my name's-"
"Don't apologize!" Sanny snapped, taking me by surprise, "apologies are a sign of weakness."
"A-are you sure you're an Omega?" I asked, stuttering a little, "because you're acting a lot like an Alpha."
"What about you?" Sanny asked, "you're being too friendly for a lone wolf."
"Touché." I replied.
"What's your story?" Sanny asked, curiously, "I can tell you're new at the whole lone wolf thing, so don't think you can fool me."
I gulped, "well, I've lived in the Western Pack of Jasper for most of my life." I explained, "until…my puphood friend and…forbidden crush, returned from Alpha School and we were captured and brought to Sawtooth, where we eventually found our way home, while having a few laughs and adventures along the way."
"What happened after you got home?" Sanny asked.
I frowned, "she betrayed me." I answered, "after we got home, I found out she was only using me to get home, so she could marry some wolf from the Eastern Pack."
Sanny sat down and started thinking to herself, "well…" she started, "I would say from what you told me, she's an Alpha and was required to marry a wolf from another pack to form some sort of peace treaty, am I right?"
I nodded in confirmation, "then there's no way that you could've ended up with her." Sanny said, "you just have to accept that."
"I did accept that, Sanny." I replied, "what hurt, was that she didn't tell me she was in a forced marriage and she brushed me off, as if I meant nothing to her, after we got home."
Sanny gasped lightly, "oh, I see." She muttered, "and that's why you left?"
"I couldn't stand seeing my friend and love being married to someone else." I said, "so I left to become a lone wolf in Sawtooth, where we had some good memories."
"Well, you missed your stop." Sanny replied, "I just got on from Sawtooth."
I sighed, "great." I muttered, "just once, just once I needed to get up early and I couldn't even do that, some lone wolf I'm turning out to be."
"Well, if it'll make you feel better, you can come with me to Yosemite." Sanny suggested, "you'll like it there."
"I don't know if I can handle being in another pack." I replied.
"You sure?" Sanny asked, "because there's plenty for an Omega like you to do, there's log-sledding-"
"Log-sledding?" I asked, cutting her off.
"Yeah, it's where you slide down a hill in a log." Sanny explained.
"I know what it is, because I invented it over a year ago." I said, "I didn't know other packs had it too."
"My brother, Humphrey, invented it." Sanny replied, then frowned, "shortly before he disappeared, that is."
"That's funny." I said, "and quite the coincidence."
"Why's that?" Sanny asked.
"Well, my name's Humphrey." I answered.
Lillian's POV
"Wait, so Humphrey swung on a vine to rescue you from drowning in a mudslide?" I asked, surprised an Omega would be able to pull that off, "then the two of you howled at the moon together and you still rejected him?"
"Rejected is a bit strong of a word." Kate said, as we walked side by side, heading east, "I didn't reject him, I just, uhh…"
"Picked this Garth over your love." I finished.
"I didn't though, I backed out of the marriage." Kate replied, "unfortunately, Humphrey had already left by then."
We continued walking in silence for a few minutes, until Kate spoke up again, "can I ask you something?" she asked.
"You just did." I said with a smirk, then sighed, "sure."
"You don't seem agitated or questioning about the fact that my pack had abolished the Alpha/Omega Mating Law." Kate said, "why is that?"
"You think your pack was the first one to abolish that law?" I asked, then clicked my tongue, "as soon as Luna became the Pack Leader of the Jasper Pack, she abolished that law, then over the next five years, her pack became the strongest in North America and she built an empire that spans across the western half of North America."
Kate stared at me wide-eyed, "that sounds…unbelievable." she said, "because for starters…there's no Jasper Pack, it's split into three different packs, two of which just became united through my sister's and Garth's wedding."
I frowned, then looked up at the sky, "King." I said with hate, then turned back towards Kate, "three years ago, he became Rogue and attacked Luna, saying what she was doing was wrong and Alphas should only mate with Alphas to have purity, as he put it."
"Within the next year, the pack had split due to disagreements." I continued, "Luna holed up in the south and the others forgot."
"If that is all true, then how is your empire still standing?" Kate asked.
"We have a treaty with the Red Wolves of the east." I explained.
Kate raised an eyebrow at me, "how do you know all this?" she asked.
"Basic history from Alpha School." I answered.
"How old are you?" Kate asked.
"My first birthday is in a couple months." I said.
"You're still a pup?" Kate asked, surprise evident in her voice.
I nodded, "we are trained very early, unlike your pack." I said.
"So, how does Luna keep the west under control?" Kate asked.
"I'm not allowed to tell you that." I said.
"Why not?" Kate asked, confused.
"Because…" I started, "only those of the four Allied Packs are allowed to know, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Alaska, and Jasper South."
"Jasper South?" Kate asked, then shook her head, "there isn't a Southern Pack in Jasper."
"Is that what you were taught in Alpha School?" I asked, rhetorically, "I wouldn't be surprised that Winston, Tony, and Payton, kept the truth from their packs."
"Who's Payton?" Kate asked.
"My, my, so many questions." I muttered, "Payton is the Pack Leader of Jasper North."
"Is he Nars' father?" Kate asked, bitterness clearly obvious in her voice, "because he's the Pack Leader now."
I stared at Kate curiously, "no." I answered, "I guess there must've been an uprising or something and Payton and his family were killed."
Guess I'll just keep the fact Payton was Winston's brother a secret for now. I thought, I can tell she has a grudge against Nars, don't need to stir up that hornets nest.
"Would Humphrey know all this?" Kate asked.
"Doubtful." I answered, "Humphrey went missing when he was only a couple months old, well before he was supposed to go to Alpha School."
"Humphrey was supposed to be an Alpha?" Kate asked, "he doesn't seem to be that type."
"There's a lot that didn't happen that was supposed to." I replied, "just like there's a lot that did happen that wasn't supposed to."
I looked up at the sky and noticed the sun was starting to go down, "we should find a den for the night." I said, "we'll reach my aunt's pack sometime tomorrow, think you can handle catching dinner?"
Kate nodded, "I can do that." she said.
"Good." I replied, "I'll go find a den for us."
Kate left to go hunt something and I traveled through some trees, searching for a den. After about forty minutes, I spotted a large hole under a tree and squeezed myself inside to find a fairly sizable den for two she-wolves. I heard something outside, then squeezed myself out and saw Kate dragging a fairly large caribou.
"You actually caught something." I said, "I guess that means it's your first catch, isn't it?"
Kate dropped the caribou and smiled at me, which kinda creeped me out with all the blood around her muzzle, "yeah, no eastern wolves to ruin my hunt this time." she said, "now dig in."
I chuckled, then we dug into the caribou, "so…" Kate said, between mouthfuls, "what's your aunt like?"
I swallowed a mouthful of caribou and raised my head up, "she's quite nice." I answered, "unless your name is Tony."
"Why's that?" Kate asked, curiously.
"I wouldn't mention his name around her if I were you." I said, then chuckled, "unless it's, Tony is dead, then you'd be alright."
"Tony is dead." Kate replied, "he died protecting me from a stampede."
"Well, don't tell her that then." I said, then took another bite of caribou.
"Will she think I'm-" Kate started, but I cut her off.
"I'm not saying she will despise you like she does Tony." I said, "I'm saying she would likely throw a party at Tony's death."
Kate frowned, "she hates him that much?" she asked.
"Hate is a strong word." I said, "but yeah."
We continued eating in silence until we'd both had our fill, then we dragged the remains into the den for our breakfast in the morning and settled in our sleeping positions.
"Why does your aunt hate Tony so much?" Kate asked.
"No clue." I answered, "she's kept that info to herself, but I'm sure she has a good reason."
"Now, let's get some sleep." I said, as I laid my head down on my paws, "we've got quite a bit of walking tomorrow."
Kate nodded, then did the same as me and fell asleep after a few minutes, this world is so much larger than she knows. I thought, as I closed my eyes, Tony, Winston…Nars, they all have small minds, they don't know the potential that wolves as a species have.
A/N: That's Chapter 3. A couple things, I feel that Kate and Lillian's conversation seemed too long with explanations and stuff, but maybe it's just me as the writer where EVERYTHING seems 10x longer than it is, so I'd like some feedback on that. Whether it's fine the way it is, or I need to focus on shortening those parts, or whatever. Please and thank you.
Pamuy is Troy Groomes OC that he let me use, which is why she's not on my OC list on my profile page. Speaking of my profile page, I put up a poll asking if I should put in a lemon or two later in this story. Which is why I said in the summary that it's rated T for now, because I may rate it M for lemons. Personally, I'm good either way, if I don't, those scenes will only get as close as they did in my other story Kate and Lilly Reversed.
I think that's about it, so please Review!
Till next time,

I've watched both IT movies. I thought the idea I had for the crossover would work after watching the first movie, but after watching the second, I need to do it differently, so it may take longer than I expected for the first chapter. Be patient, that's all I can really say, unless there's another way I can discuss ideas for the crossover with you.
