Hiccup smiled as he watched Astrid's face go from a shocked to a confused one as he took off his helmet. She opened her mouth to say something but no words would come out.

"How," she finally said after a few seconds of silence. "How are you alive," Astrid asked as she continued to watch him, almost like she was watching a ghost.

"Well it's rather simple really," Hiccup told her, "I just make sure to take care of myself."

"But in the cove," Astrid said, "And the Night Fury." Hiccup let out a chuckle as he remembered the event that she was talking about.

"Toothless never wanted to kill me," Hiccup told her as he patted the dragon's head.

"But we saw blood everywhere," Astrid recalled.

"Thankfully I had a lot of fish nearby," Hiccup said with a nod as he remembered his quick thinking.

"But why," Astrid asked, still confused by the fact of how Hiccup was in this position.

"Why what," Hiccup asked as he slowly stood up and stretched.

"Why are you living like this," Astrid asked as she watched him.

"What's wrong with how I'm living," Hiccup asked as he walked towards the fire.

"You're living in a secluded place with dragons for gods sake Hiccup," Astrid told him, "You had a home with Berk and you chose to leave it." Hiccup felt his chest tighten and her comment and stared down into the fire.

"Funny," he said in a quiet voice, "You say I had a home at Berk, yet when I was there, nobody wanted anything to do with me."

"That is not true," Astrid countered and his flicked up to hers.

"Oh really," he asked, "Besides maybe Gobber, nobody saw anything useful out of me. All I was to everyone in Berk was a walking, talking useless fishbone."

Astrid remained silent as she looked down at her hands and Hiccup stood up from his crouched position. "I left because I knew that was what everybody truly wanted," Hiccup told her, "I was just something they had to watch over, so I removed that burden from their lives."

"How can you be so heartless," Astrid asked him, "Your father and many people cared about you."

"Don't you dare say that my father cared about me," Hiccup shouted as he turned towards her. Astrid almost fell backwards at the sudden outburst and Hiccup sighed to himself as he rubbed his forehead. "When I found Toothless, I almost killed him," he admitted, "I held my knife in my hands and was about to kill him. It was my chance to prove myself to everyone that I was a viking." He paused as he thought back to the memory and what led up to it.

"But I couldn't," he told her, "I wouldn't kill him because when I looked at him I saw myself. So when I had the opportunity, I left with him and came here."

"And what, you just live here alone and do what with your life," Astrid asked.

"Live," Hiccup told her simply, "I am able to live a life here. The dragons don't see me like the people of Berk did." Astrid remained silent and she shook her head in disbelief.

"I don't know what to say," Astrid mumbled, "So what now," she asked.

"What do you mean," Hiccup asked her,

"What happens to me now," Astrid asked.

"Same deal pretty much," Hiccup said with a shrug of his shoulders, "I don't know what else you expect."

"Why don't you just take me back to Berk," Astrid asked and he let out a short laugh.

"Two reasons," he started, "One, I can't trust you to not reveal my identity, and two, it's not safe for you to go back."

"What makes you think that it's not safe for me to go back to Berk," Astrid asked him.

"They offered you to me as a beautiful woman that has never been touched by another man," Hiccup reminded her. "You just go back, they'll offer you up to someone else to better themselves."

"You don't know that," Astrid told him, but her voice sounded like she didn't even believe in her statement.

"Really," Hiccup countered, "Who would protest if that would happen." Astrid remained silent and Hiccup nodded, knowing that they both agreed he was right. "Well then come on," he said as he motioned for her to get up.

"Where are you taking me," Astrid asked as she slowly stood up.

"To where I call home," Hiccup told her and she gave him an odd look. "What did you think, I just slept outside all the time," he added with a small smile. Toothless slowly stood up and stretched lazily as he walked towards Hiccup. Hiccup jumped up into the saddle and slid his foot into the paddle. He looked over towards Astrid who remained in the same spot and crossed her arms over her chest.

"There's no way I'm getting on that thing," she told him and Hiccup let out a sigh.

"Fine, if you get eaten then it's not my fault," he told her. "Just go that way and you'll come to the base of a mountain. Climb up the mountain and then you'll reach my hideout." Without saying another word Hiccup shifted his foot in the paddle and Toothless took off into the air. As they continued to fly Hiccup let out a loud yell as he flopped backwards. Toothless made a noise and Hiccup rubbed his forehead. "Yeah, yeah, you told me so," Hiccup said as he looked up at the clouds, "But we couldn't have just left her." Hiccup slowly sat up and shook his head as he looked ahead of him. He had an easy life from when he left Berk six years ago, but now, his life just got even more complicated than before.

Astrid placed her hands on her knees as she gasped for air and looked around the area. The sun was close to setting as she looked around from her spot on the mountain. She could finally see above the trees and in the distance she could just barely see the ocean. Astrid turned her head and looked up the mountain. She felt like she had climbed for miles now and there was no end in sight. She let out a sigh and then continued to make the climb on the roughly constructed path. When she first saw the path she felt herself ease slightly, but she still didn't trust it completely. Sometimes the path became quite steep or her foot slipped on the rocks. She continued to make her journey up the mountain when she finally saw something ahead of her. It seemed that the path leveled out and provided a sort of flat area.

As Astrid reached the level area she looked around and saw a sort of cave ahead of her. She slowly approached the cave and peaked her head inside. Inside was a large cave that almost seemed bigger than her entire house. She looked above and saw a large opening where the roof of the cave should be. As she continued to look around the cave Astrid saw several other tunnels all along the walls of the cave.

"Great, now I have to find my way around in a place I don't even know," Astrid said to herself. She decided to go in the furthest left tunnel and work her way around if needed. She assumed she was in the right tunnel as she saw lanterns hanging from the roof of it. The light provided by the lanterns casted an eerie feeling and Astrid constantly watched the shadows around her. She continued to walk for a few more minutes before coming out to another cave.

This cave was different, instead of tunnels leading to other caves, there was just a wall separating them. Astrid looked around and gasped as she looked at one of the walls. The cave was knocked out and revealed a gorgeous view of the sunset. She turned after hearing something clatter to the cave floor. Astrid slowly walked towards the sound and paused as she found the source of the noise. She looked around to see some sort of room with various things filling the cave. Several chests and wardrobes were scattered around the walls. Some of them were open and were completely unorganized. Several barrels and baskets were also piled up in the corner, in another was a large bed and a nightstand. As she continued to look around the room Astrid saw the Night Fury crouched down next to a table.

"I'm alright bud," she heard Hiccup say and she looked over to see him sitting at the table.

His head was bowed and his shoulders sagged as he lightly patted the dragon on his head. Hiccup shifted and Astrid watched as he titled his head back as he drank from what looked like a flask. "How was the trip," Hiccup asked as he continued to face away from Astrid.

"I've been on worse," Astrid said with a shrug. Hiccup let out a soft laugh as he slowly stood up from the table. He turned around and stumbled, almost falling to the ground but he caught himself on the table. "Are you alright," Astrid asked with a worried expression on her face and Hiccup laughed again.

"Worried about me are you princess," Hiccup asked as he took another drink from the flask.

"Don't call me princess," Astrid warned him and a lopsided grin appeared on his face.

"Why not," he asked as he slowly approached her and Astrid took a step back.

"Hiccup, what are you doing," Astrid asked as he continued to walk towards her.

But Hiccup didn't respond as he slowly approached her, his eyes were locked on hers as he walked towards her. Astrid felt her back hit the wall but Hiccup continued to walk towards her. Astrid tried to say something to bring him back to reality but nothing came out. He stopped just in front of her and placed both of his hands on either side of her, trapping her in the process. His breathing was ragged and Astrid could smell the mead on his breath. She closed her eyes, fearing what was about to come next, but nothing happened.

"What am I doing," she heard him whisper and she opened her eyes to see him walking backwards. Astrid remained silent as she watched him walk around the cave. He brought a hand through his hair and seemed to be talking to himself.

Astrid didn't say anything as he walked over to the table and slammed his fist on the table. He pulled out his flask and tilted it backwards. He let out a sigh after he was done drinking from the flask and continued to avert his gaze from Astrid.

"Hiccup," Astrid said in a soft tone but he just held a hand up towards her, almost telling her to stay back.

"There are plenty of sheets and pillows around," Hiccup told her as he motioned towards the chests and wardrobes. "Either you can use those or you can take the bed whichever you want." Without saying anything else Hiccup turned away and walked away from Astrid. Astrid looked over at Toothless and he was looking over at her with a sad look. He seemed to let out a sigh and went in the direction that Hiccup went. After a few seconds Astrid finally felt herself be able to move from her spot along the wall. She let out a shaky breath and closed her eyes, wondering what exactly happened to Hiccup in these past six years.

Ayo, it's me, hopefully everyone enjoyed the new chapter. Sorry if it seemed forced in some places, I promise it will run smoother in the future chapters. I would also like to say another big thanks for all the new follows and favorites that came around just after the second chapter. I am honestly surprised that so many came so early but I am thankful for it. I might possibly get another chapter up within two days or so, since it is holidays and I am on break. As always, if you have any thoughts, reviews, and/or questions please leave them as they are always helpful and peace out!
