3 Clashing

"Money's here." Jen stated opening the briefcase. Kevin was sort of wondering how none of her deep purple lipstick got on the lip rings. Glen had taken out his phone and was texting Cooper. One of the ordinary looking guys stepped up to the crate pushing a dolly full of crates. Jen flicked a finger at the top crate which opened in a flash of pink so dark it was almost purple. She reached into the crate and pulled out a laser blaster.

"Your classic etherpoint laser lance, point six terawatts, capable of continuous fire for up to thirty five minute, if whatever you're trying to kill doesn't turn to molten slag before then that is." Her grin was wicked as she whirled aiming the gun at a train car and firing. She was right it reduced the metal to molten slag in moments. She smiled at the knights as she set the gun back into the crate. "This do for what you need?" The lead knight nodded as the men started to unload their truck handing the crates to the knights. Magister Labrid swore in a guttural alien language.

"Those lances are level five technology! Earth is only level two!" He had abandoned the whisper they'd been using as he pulled his side arm and his badge as the knights and men whirled towards the sound.

"What happened to being stealthy!" Glen demanded snatching a small bottle out of his pocket. "Backup will be at least ten minutes." He whispered that to Kevin who swore spinning the dial on the Omnitrix which whirred.

"Hands above your head air breathers! By the authority of the Plumbers you're all busted." He stepped forward, Glen and Kevin following close behind. Jay laughed as she gracefully hopped up onto the crate they'd been using as a table.

"Oh are we fishface?" She raised both hands but Glen swore as her fingers moved in a complex pattern and a deep pink mist blossomed from her hands flowing between her and the Plumber in question. "Shit like this is why they pay me the big bucks little fish." Her voice echoed from beyond the mist. Magister Labrid fired into the mist only for the shot to ricochet off of it. The people on the other side though seemed to have no problem firing on them. Glen snatched another bottle from his pocket swirled it around a few times and threw it at the mist. The bottle shattered on the mist but the contents spilled out over the mist which swirled into a vortex before vanishing, leaving the area clear. Jen blinked as though shocked.

"You went out and found yourself a magician Magister! I'm almost impressed." She quipped as the people from the second set of trucks peeled off their faces, transforming into the same kind of creature that had attacked Kevin at the Rustbucket. The roared and hissed as the knights leveled lances, a few of their number rushing to get the crates aboard their truck. Glen held another bottle in his hand as Kevin fiddled with the Omnitrix which was still whirring and not displaying his aliens.

"What now?" Glen asked.

"Standoff." Magister Labrid replied. Glen glanced at Kevin.

"I'm gonna need a minute, the watch is being stubborn again." Glen rolled his eyes.

"What else is new?" He quipped as he stepped forwards tossing the bottle in his hand. It landed at the feet of the knights and vines sprouted, ensnaring the knights feet. A disk of energy flew through the air, severing the vines, as Jay stepped off the crate onto a glowing platform.

"Glen?" She sounded genuinely surprised. "Is that you little cuz?"

"You're only ten minutes older than me!" Glen griped diving behind a shipping crate. Jay laughed.

"I heard Levin was running with a magic user, years ago, but I never guessed it was you! Wait does that mean he's here?" Jay asked looking around for the other boy Labrid had brought along. Kevin had been forced to dive behind a crate, the malfunctioning Omnitrix offering little protection from the laser fire. He blinked as a bright flash of silver enveloped the Omnitrix which shifted. When the light died down the watch was no longer the bulky thing he'd found at eleven with a chunky black band, instead it was sleek, with a much thinner band, now silver instead of black. The face had shifted slightly too, it had grown slightly larger than it had been. The watch beeped and a holographic interface appeared over the dial. Kevin blinked but he had to choose fast. Magister Labrid had been incapacitated by the aliens, who spit goo, which now covered the magister from his feet to his neck. Glen wasn't far behind. But Kevin's more immediate issue was Jay who had floated over to where Glen was trapped. She was glaring at him.

"Guess I'm not the only freak in the family." She said it callously, venom dripping from her words. "Where's Levin?" She circled her cousin who remained silent. "You know rumor had it he died when he up and vanished five years ago. Tell me it's not true, I wanna be the one to hand his ass to him on a platter." Kevin spun the dial, every alien was unfamiliar. He would have to select at random. He popped up from behind his crate.

"You want me come get me!" The dial on the Omnitrix popped up and Kevin slapped it down. Silver lights flashed and he transformed into something he didn't recognize. This being was plantlike, with deep green foliage covering his body. He could feel fire burning through this transformation and grinned as it ignited at his hands. Just at that moment a motorbike pulled up to the trainyard and a blast from the front of the bike sent the aliens scattering away from Glen and Magister Labrid as Cooper pulled off his helmet, eyes glowing bright blue.

"Get away from him!" Cooper called out as Jay lunged at Kevin lights blooming from her fingers. Kevin let loose a blast of fire at Jay who threw up a wall of energy sending it slamming into him, once, twice, three times. One of the seedpods on his shoulder fell off and a sprout began to grow. Thinking fast he pulled off three pods from the other shoulder and threw them in Jay's path. They bloomed quickly trapping her feet and hands one wrapped around her mouth as she grunted indignantly. Her eyes flooded a glowing deep pink and Kevin swore he needed to knock her out. The thought had barely crossed his mind when a flower bloomed on the vine in front of her face. It popped open spraying pollen on her face. She sneezed once and went limp. But the distraction had been enough. One of the trucks the knights had brought had gotten away with several crates of the guns while Cooper was freeing Glen and Magister Labrid from the goo. The aliens had run off too, though they hadn't gotten away with all the product, several crates were scattered around and a few dollies had been left behind. Kevin let the vines around Jay relax, she didn't look to be waking up anytime soon. Magister Labrid frowned.

"This is a bit of a shit show." He slipped a set of cuffs out of a pouch on his armor and slipped them onto Jay's wrists tapping in a code. A red gem on the cuffs glowed and Jen groaned slightly, though she remained unconscious. "Power dampeners." He explained as Glen looked up at him slightly concerned. The magister turned to Cooper. "You're a technopath?" Cooper nodded. "Can you break those?" Cooper nodded again and stepped over to the guns that had been left behind.

"Is she ok?" Glen asked looking down at his cousin. She was still out cold. Kevin nodded.

"Yeah, I think it was just knock out pollen." He said as he transformed back into himself.

"You think?" Glen asked a little incredulous.

"Cut me some slack, I've never been that guy before. I actually don't recognize any of these guys."

"Maybe when you get your license pee wee." Jay spoke from her spot at their feet. Her voice was groggy as she tried to raise a hand to brush off the pollen from her face. They looked down at her and Glen pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket, handing it to his cousin. Jay rolled her eyes but used the cloth to wipe the pollen from her face. Magister Labrid stepped up to them.

"You're in a lot of trouble kid."

"Oh like I've never been in trouble before." She yawned it at him. He glowered at her.

"I imagine you've been in a lot of trouble. I knew your granddad, he was a bit of a trouble magnet too." Jen looked away from the Magister. Glen though had become very interested.

"You knew our Grandpa Max?" Glen asked, the only person they knew who knew Max other that their parents who wouldn't talk about him much was Devin.

"I did. And I'm gonna do for you what I think he'd have done." He was addressing Jen. "I'm gonna give you a chance. You know that dealing level five tech on a level two planet is illegal. I know you've got several warrants out for your arrest on various charges. Now I can't make all that go away, but I can offer parole if you flip on your sellers and buyers right now. No time in the Null Void, just regular check ins, and no more selling." Jen was silent for a moment and Glen shook his head, sure his cousin wouldn't talk. She pursed her lips and let out a breath.

"I don't know much about the sellers, they come to me, just that they have a large supply of weapons tech that shouldn't be on Earth." They blinked as Jen spoke. "I do know where the buyers are though. The Forever Knights aren't exactly the most subtle of people. You take off the power dampers, keep your promise about parole and I'll take you there." Cooper had stepped up to them, frowning as he took Glen's hand.

"Deal." Magister Labrid said, moving to remove the cuffs. Glen held up a hand.

"I want your oath. Magical vow that you won't turn on us the minute we let you go." Jay grinned at her cousin.

"Aww baby cousin actually knows his shit, at least a little. Can't make it myself with the cuffs on." Glen nodded to Magister Labrid who removed the cuffs. Jay's eyes lit up pink and she drew an x over her heart. "I swear on the hidden name of magic I will not turn on you while we still have a deal." A thrum passed through the air and Glen nodded holding out a hand to help his cousin up. She took it and glanced at Cooper who was still holding Glen's other hand. "Cute boyfriend." She turned to Kevin and appraised him with a critical eye. "Aw Levin grew up cute." Magister Labrid cleared his throat.

"The Knights?" Jay nodded.

"Alright, get in the car. Only enough room for four, your boy will have to follow behind." Jay said jerking her thumb up at Cooper's motorcycle. He squeezed Glen's hand and headed back up the ridge. As they loaded into Jay's car none of them noticed her circle around the back, the trunk was slightly open. She opened it all the way and swore. Though there were two laser lances in her trunk the briefcase with her payment was absent. She slammed her way into the car grumbling. Kevin frowned from his spot in the passenger seat.

"Everything ok?"

"Bastards didn't pay me." She griped as she pulled out of the train yard.

The car ride was awkward. It was mostly silent, though Magister Labrid had said he'd rather drive.

"Yeah no one drives my baby but me." Jay commented glancing into the backseat. Her eyes lingered on Glen for a moment. Silence fell again save for the purr of the engine and the sound of Cooper's bike behind them. "When did you find out you had powers?" Jay asked glancing at Glen in the rearview mirror.

"I got ahold of one of the Elemental Charms of Bezel. Ever since I've been able to do elemental magic." Jay frowned as she turned down a side road.

"You ever tried any other kinds?" Glen shrugged.

"My research said that the charm only used Elemental magic." Jay snorted lightly.

"I'm not asking about the charm, I'm asking about you." Glen fell silent. Jay shook her head, her eyes calculating. They had pulled up to the castle though Kevin whistled slightly.

"The knights live here?" He asked slightly disbelieving.

"Yeah well, like I said, they aren't exactly subtle." Jay pointed out as they exited the car. She glanced at Glen as Cooper took off his helmet. She looked Glen over as Kevin stared up at the closed drawbridge.

"How do we get in?" Magister Labrid asked. Jay was still looking at her cousin.

"If you study you can learn how to do shit like this too." She said, the statement directed at Glen as she reached out a hand. Energy followed her motion wrapping around the drawbridge and pulling it down. Glen frowned.

"But I can only do Elemental magic." He stated again. Jay raised an eyebrow at him.

"Can you? Come on we should get inside." Jay led the way into the castle as Cooper glanced at Glen who looked beyond confused.
