Masters of the Elements
Chapter 2: A Raging, Hot, Electric, Quaking, Wave of Disasters
The girls flew through the dark sky; dodging lightning bolts and fighting the wind. They were still on the hunt for Voltor, the electric Elementalist. "Where on earth could he be? I mean I get it, it's dark out, but still!" Buttercup was getting restless; then a blue lightning bolt crashed down in front of her. Voltor revealed himself from it.
"So. You've finally come out of hiding; all three of you?" Voltor asked.
"Look. We can do this two different ways; and I doubt you'll settle for the first." Blossom told him. "We can either let you leave peacefully, and let all of this blow over. Or you'll have to fight at our best." She offered.
"Whaddya know? You were right. I won't settle for the first." Voltor remarked.
"Then it's a beatdown you're gonna get!" Buttercup responded.
*Powerpuff Girls! V.S. Voltor!*
An enormous dark cloudy arena then showed up underneath everyone. Voltor landed on it and charged up an electric energy shield. "You may feel a bit tingly." He charged at the girls; when he missed he started rebounding off the walls of the arena. The girls managed to effortlessly dodge him (he was going easy on them after all). "I see that I didn't underestimate you! Let's turn up the power then, shall we?" Voltor opened up his cloak to reveal a vortex that shot out miniature thunderclouds. They rose up, and started striking parts of the ground that lit up. Bubbles was struck by an unseen bolt, but the DYNAMO suit she wore prevented her from feeling any damage the bolt would have caused. "What? That is nigh impossible!" He was surprised she didn't look 'well done'.
"Thank goodness for rubber." Bubbles told herself.
"Well. Now that we know you're completely useless against us; how about surrendering?" Blossom asked.
"As if!" Voltor then flew up into the clouds, absorbing most of them. When he landed back down his figure was starting to shift. A blue lightning bolt shot out of his face hole and formed a giant bird made entirely out of electricity in the sky. This was Voltor's spirit beast, the Storm Eagle (A/N: In no relation to the Mega Man X Reploid/Maverick). It screeched an ear-piercing sound at the girls. They all covered their ears (that they have; they're there; trust me; you just can't see them), and while they were stunned on the ground, the Storm Eagle dive-bombed towards the arena floor and crashed into it. This caused electric surges to travel across the ground in strange patterns. (A/N: A bit of a reference to the Ruined Dragon from Mario Odyssey). The girls recovered, and managed to fly off the ground in time before they were hit.
"Okay. So he's a giant thunder bird now. What could we possibly do about that?" Blossom was trying to think of a plan. "Aha! Okay girls; who wants to play the role of 'lightning rod'?" She asked her sisters.
"Wait what?" Buttercup asked.
"Don't worry I was joking. We need a metal bar that will conduct the electricity." Blossom told her.
Buttercup then proceeds to remove her robotic arm (I betcha you didn't know it was detachable). "Here, just tap the glowy part to turn it into a metal pole. When you're done using it, press it again." Buttercup told her,
"Oh... uh okay." Blossom flew back to the center of the arena and called out to Voltor's spirit beast. "Hey! Birdbrain!" She got its attention, she just needed to have him dive-bomb at the lightning rod, and it'll all be over (the thunderstorms will at least). "I bet you can't dive into me on your first try!" The Storm Eagle was angry now. It screeched; the girls braced their ears. The spirit beast then dive-bombed towards the lightning rod's location. Blossom quickly flew away; and watched as the Storm Eagle's fate was sealed. It hit the ground... suddenly, it started freaking out! Shooting off pulses of electricity everywhere! "Girls! Evasive maneuvers!" Even if they were immune to the electricity effect, they didn't want to take any chances. After about three minutes worth of an onslaught, the Storm Eagle dissipated; and Voltor's body fell to the floor. The girls approached him as he got up, while Blossom was talking to him, Buttercup spun the metal pole around, changed it back into protective plating, and placed back over her arm. "Well I hope you've learned something." She told him.
"Very much, yes..." Voltor responded as his body faded completely. When he fully disappeared, he left a yellow gem in his place. Blossom stomped on it, and it shattered into pieces; Voltor was done for... The sky stopped spewing lightning, but heavy rainfall still remained.
"One down, four left." Blossom said out loud to herself. "C'mon. Let's head back home girls." They listened and flew back to their home, where they were met with the most unpleasantly pleasant surprise. "Mojo!?" They all said.
"Oh er... yes. I couldn't handle seeing what the heck was going on here. It's hard enough to sleep in Citiesville as it already is. I thought maybe I could assist you girls in defeating whatever's causing this however; but don't think I'm returning to stay!" Mojo ranted.
"Oh trust me. Townsville's been way better without you." Blossom stated.
"Blossom!" Bubbles whispered.
"Well it's true!" Blossom shot back.
"I'm sure it has. Now enough of your bickering; I was merely sitting here waiting for you to get back. Now could you please follow me back to my lair?" Mojo said as he activated his helicopter backpack; flying off.
"Well. Might as well." Buttercup said. "Usually he's never willing to help us, unless it's for the sake of himself." The other two obliged, and flew over with him.
*Jumpcut to Mojo's lair; the girls and Mojo just arrived*
"Ahh... my old lair. I wonder if the robot I left to take care of this place is still here." As if on cue, the robot did appear to still be doing so.
"So... why did we need to be here again?" Bubbles asked.
"There is something I need to do." Mojo explained. He hopped onto his swivel chair in front of an enormous monitor. He typed in a passcode for the main computer to turn on; it then brought him to a screen that had him in it. Supposedly from the girls' angry glares, it was a picture of Mojo taking a selfie with their remains. "Er... ignore that please." He said as he immediately switched on a program that said 'area scan'. "There we are. Now then, tell me the name of the group you encountered. Because if you tell me their name, I can confirm it in the area scan I have set up; this area scan will allow you to track down the enemies easier." He explained.
"Do we speak into a mic? Or does it have to be done manually?" Blossom asked.
"No. I type it. I don't trust the mic system." Mojo said. (A/N: That's me in real-life; I don't trust speech to text).
"They're called the Elementalists." Blossom told him.
"Okay... how is that spelt exactly? I need to know." He asked.
"E-L-E-M-" She was cut off by Mojo.
"Nevermind; I think I got it." He then proceeded to type: ELEMENTALISTS. His area scan picked up three similar life signatures. "I have a read on three of them; you've already defeated the electric one right?" He asked.
"Yeah. Man he was really going at it too; you should've seen him! He turned into a giant electric mass of a bird!" Bubbles explained.
"I had to turn my arm into a lightning rod to stop him." Buttercup said.
"I'm sorry come again? Your arm?" Mojo was confused. Buttercup showed him her detachable robotic arm. "What happened to it?"
"When I came back, I had no feeling in it. It had to be upgraded; the Professor created something that could apparently fit around an entire limb, and make it better. This is my right arm now." Buttercup explained.
"You told us he used a duranium power saw to amputate it; and that he replaced it with an arm from the junk pile from an old robot shaped like us." Blossom reminded her.
"Well I lied. Sorry, but that's a habit I can't seem to break." She explained. "Hey! This is off topic! Mojo; tell us where the rest of the Elementalists are!" Buttercup yelled; changing the subject.
"Well, one is hiding in a volcano over by the tallest building in Townsville; one resides in the sea out by the bay; and one is up in the mountains." Mojo explained.
"Well girls; it's clear that the Elementalists, going by their respective element, are taking up that specific area. I'll head to the mountains to stop the earth Elementalist." Blossom stated.
"Welp, I'll take on the fire girl I guess." Said Buttercup.
"Does anyone have a water-breathing kit?" Bubbles asked.
"Well then now that that's been all settled down, why don't you three head to those places immediately?" Mojo asked.
"Agreed... let's go girls!" Ending it on that note, the girls shot off in their respective direction. (A/N: I'm running out of ideas on what to put here so we'll just stop now. But I will tell you that there will be three variations of chapter 3 that you can read in any order you want. Just remember that whichever one you decide to read depends on which ending of that chapter you read.)
