"Allen, you're late." Barry awkwardly stumbled into the crowded Central City Police Department, making him look very out of place compared to the other officers within the building as he speedily tidied himself up before finding himself standing right in front of what he believed to be his new boss.

"I am so sorry, the train this morning was just crazy so I just decided to run from the train station but then I encountered some distractions along the way-" Barry's voice continued to constantly speed up as he ranted on and on, not amusing his boss in the slightest which caused Barry to quickly stop talking upon noticing this.

"Well, at least you're here now. I'm Director Singh." Singh extended out his hand towards him as Barry awkwardly reached his hand to Singh, shaking hands in a way that looked very unprofessional thanks to Barry, who smiled at Singh awkwardly.

"You'll be working in Crime Lab we have here in the CCPD. You'll be sharing it with one of the other Forensic Scientists who'll help show you the ropes." Singh informed Barry as he showed him the way to his new Lab as Barry tried to make himself fit in with the other officers wandering through the CCPD by changing his walking style to something a bit more professional and 'adult'.

After a few moments, the two of them finally arrived at Barry's new workspace. It was quite small, but had enough room and equipment to do the job of a Forensic Scientist for the CCPD. As Barry looked around aimlessly in the workspace, Singh firmly patted his right shoulder.

"I'll give you today to familiarise yourself with the CCPD. Work starts tomorrow." Singh told Barry before he exited the Crime Lab, leaving Barry on his own inside the small room.

"Okay. Familiarise myself with workspace. Easy." Barry spoke to himself in a soft whisper as he walked around the Crime Lab. Although the room was clean for the most part, there were some areas that seemed to be unorganised and all over the place, probably due to whoever Barry was sharing this Laboratory with. When Barry was finished looking around at the desks and the large transparent whiteboard that was riddled with different theories to various ongoing cases, he approached the wide window which gave a beautiful view of the streets of Central City. Barry smiled to himself reassuringly, recalling everything that he and the team had gone through when Steppenwolf attacked, and how he ran backwards through time to save the world. Staring out to everyone going on with their everyday lives, this had finally made Barry feel like he truly did the right thing by going backwards in time.

"...One of the best of the best." Barry whispered to himself, smiling.

"You must be Barry." A voice arose from behind Barry, causing him to quickly turn around and coming face to face with the other Forensic Scientist he was sharing the Laboratory with. Barry nodded quickly as he slowly approached.

"Yeah. Barry Allen, t-that's me." Barry nodded awkwardly.

"Patty Spivot." She replied as she made her way to one of the messy desks, beginning to tidy up.

"Well, I was just told to uh, familiarise myself with the whole... area." Barry announced awkwardly as Patty continued to tidy up the desk.

"So, i'm just gonna uh... go familiarise." Barry nodded gently as he speed walked his way out of the Crime Lab, making his way to another random part of the CCPD building.

A few seconds after Barry exited the Crime Lab, time froze. Every single object throughout the entire universe suddenly became suspended in a single moment in time.

Everyone except Barry.

"Uhh, what?" Barry looked around his surroundings as he saw officers completely frozen. He walked around, walking past a small Fly that too was frozen entirely. Barry had never been in an area so quiet. Whenever he entered 'Flashtime', he still always had the sound of his lightning sparking off of his body to accompany him. But this time there was no lightning, and it was dead quiet, which is why Barry suddenly yelped out like a little girl when he heard, what sounded like a loud energy boom come from outside the CCPD. As Barry noticed time beginning to go back to its normal state, he quickly sped off outside, donning his red and black suit and standing outside of the CCPD building.

The streets suddenly became full of screaming as pedestrians began to run away as fast as they could as a small wormhole opened up in the air, just a few metres above the road in front of the golden brown CCPD building. After a few moments, a large series of police officers came running out of the building and onto the streets, half of them aiming their guns at the wormhole and the other half aiming them at Barry.

"Put your hands where I can see them!" One of the officers yelled out to Barry as he awkwardly raised his hands just below his shoulders.

"This isn't me!" Barry yelled out, referencing the wormhole behind him. As he looked around at the large number of officers aiming their guns at him, Barry noticed Patty standing just outside the entrance doors of the CCPD, witnessing the entire scene.

"Something's happening!" Another officer suddenly yelled, causing all of the officers and Barry to suddenly switch their attention to the wormhole. It seemed like something was coming through from the other side, causing Barry to slowly back away from the wormhole as he watched it closely, waiting for the arrival of whatever was on the other side.

It didn't even take a second for Barry to find out what was coming through as a small group of Parademons suddenly flew out, blasting their red laser guns at the police officers.

"No!" Barry yelled out as lightning began to spark off his body, time slowing down all around Barry. He quickly ran into the crowd of police officers and gently moved them out of the way of the gun fire coming from the Parademons guns. How could they be here, Barry thought they all left Earth after the team had defeated Steppenwolf. But he couldn't let this distract him now. He had to take care of them and make sure nobody was hurt.

After Barry had moved all the officers out of the way, he turned towards the Parademons who were also slowed down thanks to Barry's abilities. There were only two of them, but they still posed a threat to normal civilians.

Barry quickly ran towards the Parademons who were each flying in the air. He managed to gather enough strength to jump up off the ground and punch one of them as Barry landed back onto the ground. Upon landing back onto the road, Barry quickly picked up a sewer grate and tossed it towards the last of the Parademons, the grate slowing down upon leaving Barry's hands like everything else.

Taking one final look of the surrounding area, time began to go back to its normal speed for Barry as both Parademons instantly became affected by what Barry had done to them, incapacitating the two of them instantly. As the last Parademon hit the ground, the wormhole that they had entered from quickly closed, disappearing completely as if it were never there. Realising the danger was now gone, Barry quickly turned around to the police officers. None of them were hurt, however were just shaken due to what just happened. Barry quickly sped away in an eruption of blue lightning, disappearing from view. If the Parademons were beginning to come back to Earth, he had to make sure they were ready to fight them off.

It was time to take a quick detour to Gotham City...
