Chapter 2 War Room The Digital World

Ah the screaming was exhilarating to his ears. For instance "Gennai" found out if he shocked Maki at this spot she'll be like

AHHHHH!

But if he shocked her at this spot she would scream longer

"Gennai" had been playing with Maki for ummmm...who knows time flies so much when you're having fun. He didn't need to torture her, she was already broken and easily manipulated but what's the fun in that? He had also had fun with her partner Tapirmon. Oh how he so painstakingly searched for that miserable excuse for a mon. But the searching was worth it with the amount of games he was able to play with it. Some dark magic here. some shocking there, and boom he had another Digimon slave. Tapirmon was now completely programed to follow him and after he had his fun with Maki, her too. Luring Maki into this state was so easy. All he had to do is say to undergo some "experiments" to poor Maki so she can be with her dear Tapirmon and the poor broken girl went along willingly to her doom. Still he knew that this game would be coming to an end. He'll have company soon and he'll have to be ready for his guests of honor. I mean it's not like he was even trying to hide his presence from the so called "Guardian of the Digital world" Gennai. It was simple some destruction here, some tricks here to amplify Maki's screams and poof you have a recipe designed to say "HELLO WORLD I'M BAAAAAAAACK!" There was little doubt in his mind that Gennai's spies have located his location and that he would be coming for him. He also knew that some of the "DigiDestineds" would be arriving to his party. This is what he wanted of course. He'll never forget the shear joy he felt when he discovered that the humans where LOOSING their Digimon and were wallowing in disappear. This is what he wanted of course, for them to find him, fight and *poof* no more Digimon. Oh this was going to be fun.

"My dear Maki" "Gennai" stated with his sinister smile, "time to get up, we got gets coming and we must welcome them."

The real world, Izzy's office

Koushiro "Izzy" Izumi was in his office. In his office he was joined by Gennai, T.K., Kari, Davis, Ken, and Yolie. All of them were also joined by their respective Digimon. Cody was unable to make it due to schooling reasons and given what they were up against Izzy figured it would have to be for the best. They were also joined by two agents one man and one woman from The National Data Processing Bureau. Gennai first reached out to him a little while ago with information he said was extremely urgent. Izzy has never seen Gennai so desperate before and as he listened to him he understood why. He knew he would have to gather everyone he could despite the risk. A risk he knew all too well. Yesterday he had the shock of his lifetime. He checked his digivice to find out that there it was, the separation clock. Gennai believed that it was due to Izzy's inventorist nature that caused him to have a higher than average untapped potential. Still while his was greater than average, it seemed it was finally drying up. He shook his head and looked at Tentomon, what was he doing? He didn't have time to worry about his problems now.

Gennai took a step forward.

"Thanks everyone for meeting at such short notice" he stated.

Given what were up against and who were dealing with I contacted some agents of the Bureau.

He nodded to one a woman who was part of the Bureau who then stepped forward and turned on a screen.

"We've been informed by Gennai that Maki Himekawa has been located."

She tapped a button on the screen

"We believe her to be located in this building here located in the digital world." This building looked more like a small lab but something seemed off about it to Izzy. If he was a betting man he would bet there was an underground tunnel connected to the building. Who knows what actually was inside.

"We have reports that she is under extreme duress so time is of the essence." The agent said somberly.

She continued by pressing another button

"Her capture is said to be this man" a picture came up "Gennai", also known as Dark Gennai"

Hummers erupted from the DigiDestineds and Davis and Ken had real serious looks in their eyes. No doubt they haven't forgotten or forgiven what he did to the group years ago.

"So he's back" T.K. whispered to himself.

"We need to do something" Veemon stated.

"The problem is" the agent continued "Gennai believes this to be a trap. He was found too easily and isn't even trying to hide his location."

"Furthermore we know that this is a difficult time, any battle for any of you can be the last one for you and your Digimon. We want to make this clear you're all free to back out of this if you don't feel comfortable, we'll understand."

"YEAH NO, I'VE NEVER BEEN A QUITTER?" Davis blurted out "I SAY WE MARCH OVER THERE AND GIVE HIM SOME PAYBACK FOR WHAT HE DID TO US YEARS AGO. COUNT ME IN"

"Well said Davis" Veemon stated.

"I agree, despite the risks involved I can't stand by and let this monster run wild." Ken stated

Yolie was scared but upon seeing her boyfriend's determination took a step forward. "Well said Ken, what do you think Hawkmon?"

"I think we spring the trap, it's the right thing to do." her partner stated.

Izzy was silent but Tentomon looked at him.

"Izzy you know we can't let this one slide," Tentomon stated. They knew it could shorten their time together but they both knew in good conscience that they couldn't take this lying down. "Sure she caused us some problems in the past but I get it." Izzy stated, "These past few months have thought me that I'd do almost anything to save my Digimon partner."

Izzy flashed a brief smile and patted his friend's head. Given the circumstance he decided not to let anyone know that he would be loosing Tentomon soon. They would force him to stay and he knew he couldn't do that. Gennai was the only one who knew and he understood the man's sacrifice.

"What do you think Kari and Patamon" T.K. stated looking at both of him. He had made up his mind that he was going but he was hoping that Kari would say she couldn't. He wanted her to be safe but he was smart enough not to tell her that.

"Well we can't have everyone show us up" she mused. "She's our predecessor we can't just sit around and do nothing. Besides, at least to some extent I can understand why she did what she did back then." Patamon and Gatomon nodded in unison.

T.K. sighed silently to himself, "well then lets do this."

The other Bureau agent a man spoke up this time "we'll be unable to assist you in this location, we just don't have the equipment. It'll be you all in this room as well as a few others that Gennai has been able to scrap together who's already at the area."

"We believe that this place will be well fortified" Gennai said "we'll need to come up with a plan of attack."

"Yeah" Davis cheered "We'll have this phony crying with his tails between his legs in no time flat."

Gennai smiled "Very well, I suggest we start by breaking off into two teams..."
