Chapter 3: The Lies

*1 Day after the council meeting*

(Annabeth)

This doesn't make any sense.

Why? Why would he do that? None of this adds up, none of this makes sense. It has been a day since the council meeting and I have not seen Percy at all. I was getting more and more worried as time went by. Then, when it was lunch time they appeared.

Artemis and my mother Athena both appeared in the dining pavilion while the whole camp was having lunch, most of them were in awe at seeing the goddesses but if you looked close enough, you would see sadness and regret on the goddesses' faces.

"Campers!" My mother called out, "I'm afraid we have grave news for you, yesterday after the council meeting and awarding ceremony, Perseus Jackson ran away and we were unable to track him. I will let Artemis explain this part."

"Thank you, sister. Yesterday I attempted a solo hunt in order to find where Perseus has run off to, unfortunately I was unable to find him myself, it seems Perseus has the ability to avoid detection rather well." Artemis said, what seemed off was the way she spoke. It's as if she was lying but hiding it rather well. But why would a goddess lie?

"Wh-what do you mean mother?" I asked, tears falling from my eyes. She looked at me with sadness and guilt? She has the face of someone guilty yet what would she be guilty of?

"I am sorry Annabeth, but we will continue to search for him and not rest until he is found. We must ask you to also keep an eye out for him, like-wise we will also alert the Romans of the news and ask them to keep an eye out as well." My mother said before looking at me one last time. Then both goddesses flashed away.

Seaweed Brain where are you? Please come back to me.

As I opened my eyes, I could see my surroundings clearly. In front of me is a black palace that looked like it once stood magnificently but was destroyed and now being rebuilt, behind me was the most beautiful garden on the planet, the garden of the Hesperides. Wiping the tears on my eyes, I decided to focus on the task ahead of me. The faster I can get this done, the faster I can come back to Annabeth. Walking forward, I entered the building when two giant throne room doors opened in front of me. Once inside I gasped at the beauty of the palace and noticed its inhabitants that have started the process of rebuilding.

The Titans.

The layout was similar to Olympus's throne room, but there were empty thrones that stood out. One was a golden and bright throne that looked like it was on fire, harsh and painful fire, not the calm and soothing fire that Hestia has. I guessed that this was Hyperion's throne. The next was a space black throne that was decorated with the brightest and most beautiful stars. This was Krios' throne. Another was an ocean blue throne that looked like the sea itself was contained in it. This is Oceanus' throne. Beside his was a throne seemingly made out of ice, my guess was that this is his wife Thethys' throne. Then there was the middle throne, Golden and bright like Hyperion's but more magnificent and majestic than any other thrones. This was Kronos' throne.

The 12 Titans, were now only 7.

The remaining 7 Titans were Iapetus, Koios, Rhea, Phoebe, Theia, Themis, and Mnemosyne. Plus, their children that are also in the palace somewhere. These were once great enemies, it is now my job to make them into great allies.

Moving to the center I knelt down and bowed my head. "My Lords and Ladies." I began, "My name is Percy Jackson and I have come here with a plea."

"Rise Perseus." Said Rhea the queen of the Titans, "We are aware of who you are and we thank you for the request you made of the peaceful titans being released. You have allowed us a second chance to rebuild our home and for that we are grateful."

"It was the right thing to do milady." I answered back politely. I could see Iapetus smiling at me and I was glad that I have one friend in this council already.

"You did not come here willingly Perseus, we are curious on what you have to ask of this council." Koios' voice boomed.

"A great evil is rising, Tartarus has awoken and he is using his power and control over the pit to regenerate all fallen enemies of Olympus far faster than anyone could have predicted, I come here asking that you ally with Olympus to defend the world from destruction." I said nervously.

"My husband is in the pit now, as are our other siblings and family. What makes you believe that we will turn our backs on them and side with the very people who imprisoned us?" Theia said in a tone that meant I need to be careful with what I'm about to say next.

"Milady, it is for the same reason that none of you joined the past 2 wars, because you no longer want conflict anymore. You are now free to do as you wish, but if we do not stop this, there would be nothing left in the world above and we would all cease to exist. I believe you would side with us because it is the right thing to do as well as the most beneficial to everyone involved." I said more confidently, determined to win their favor easily.

"We cannot just give our alliance and prepare for another war so soon after being freed Perseus, you are correct when you say none of us want more conflict." Themis stated and I felt my confidence drop.

"But milady if you do not help us Olympus will fall and Tartarus may as well take over the world." I said desperately

"Our siblings will not fight us if we stand aside, if you fall, we will still be here free to live." She added back

"But without the mortals you would all fade would you not?" I said suddenly regaining my composure and confidence.

All 7 Titans seemingly froze in my words. They seemed to have another mental debate similar to the Olympians, I however chose to remain quiet to respect them.

After a few minutes they finally talked back. "You are correct Perseus, it appears we have no choice after all." Rhea said and I felt excited that I have almost finished my job in such a short amount of time.

"However, we would not give our alliance freely. You would have to earn it and prove you are worthy of having the great Titans as your allies." She added

"Very well milady, what is it that I must do to gain your favor." I said determined.

"You must stay here and help us rebuild our home. For one year, you must complete tasks, challenges, and tests that will be given to you. If you have proven yourself after one year, you will have our alliance" Themis stated loudly
