Chapter 3
As Nick drove to David and Megan's house Olivia asked questions about the Wesen community. Nick and Erica answered her questions as best as they could.
Once Nick reached the house and stopped, Olivia questioned, "Can you go to the bus stop and let me out?" Before Nick could respond, Megan stepped outside from the front door and looked straight at Olivia. "Never mind, I'm busted."
As Olivia—while carrying the camera—went to get out of Nick's car, Megan swiftly walked towards it.
Erica rolled down her window while Olivia was stepping out of the car.
"Excuse me, but who are you and your friend, and why is my granddaughter getting out of that car?" Megan demanded to know.
"Grandmother, they're police detectives," Olivia quickly told her.
"I'm Detective Espinosa," Erica replied at the same time when Olivia spoke and showing her detective's shield.
"Detectives?" Megan questioned curiously. "Is my granddaughter in some kind of trouble?"
"No-no," Erica told Megan. "My partner and I were just helping her to get home safely. She just wandered out too far from the house and had gotten lost."
"Yes, teenage girls taking bus rides in unfamiliar cities will do that," Megan said while looking at Olivia.
Olivia gave Megan a curious look before asking, "How do you know I took the bus?"
"Connie's house is right next to the bus stop and she watch you get on the bus," Megan informed. "Anyway, detectives, thanks for bringing her home."
"You're welcome," Nick and Erica replied as Nick looked past Erica.
"Take care, Olivia," Nick continued.
"Bye," Olivia replied with a wave.
"Bye," Erica echoed just before Nick pulled away.
"You, young lady, get inside," Megan ordered. "And don't expect to be going anywhere else for a while."
"Am I grounded?" Olivia casually asked as she started walking towards the house.
"You are, and for how long hasn't been decided yet," Megan replied while following behind Olivia. As Olivia and Megan entered the house, Megan continued to ask, "So, young lady, would you like to tell me where you went?"
"I went to 402 NW Fulton Street," Olivia simply replied as she walked into the living room.
Ben was on the couch while watching TV—a repeat episode of Charmed—and turned to look when Olivia and Megan stepped in.
"And what is at 402 NW Fulton Street?" Megan asked.
"That's the address to Exotic Spice & Tea Shop," Olivia replied.
"And why were you going to Exotic Spice & Tea Shop?" Megan asked.
"The man I saw as being a werewolf owns Exotic Spice & Tea Shop, and I went there with dad's camera to get proof of him being a werewolf," Olivia replied while lifting up the camera. "The two detectives caught me out front with my camera before I could get proof though, and for an excuse of why I was there, I told them that I was out sightseeing and had gotten lost. That's when they drove me home."
"Okay, but how do you know that the man owns the shop?" Megan asked.
"The man was in the freezer section at Katco when we entered the freezer section and I overheard him telling another man about how he and his wife Rosalee own the shop," Olivia replied. "Then I looked up the shop when we got back in the car."
"Okay, well, I'll let your mom handle your punishment when she gets home, but meanwhile, you are not to leave this house," Megan told her.
"Fine," Olivia replied before sitting on the couch, next to Ben.
"And I'm not one to hold back food or meals as a form of punishment," Megan added. "So the pizza that I cooked for you is in the kitchen."
"Your half of the pizza is in the kitchen," Ben corrected. "I ate my half."
"I am a little hungry," Olivia said before standing up again and walking towards the kitchen.
At the police station, around 1:30 P.M., Erica and Nick respectively walked into the interrogation room where Bradford (Brad) Fields was waiting patiently.
Brad was a twenty-two-year-old Caucasian who stood about 5' 7". He wore a Captain America T-shirt and tan cargo pants.
"Brad Fields, I'm Detective Erica Espinosa, and this is my partner, Detective Nick Burthardt," she said after entering.
"Detectives, can one of you two tell me why I was brought here?" Brad quickly questioned.
"Certainly," Nick was the one to say just before he and Erica each took a seat across from Brad. "Professor Jeremy Knight's body was found yesterday morning. He was murdered last Friday, and we have reason to believe that the person responsible for his death is one of his students or former students."
"Whoa-whoa-whoa," Brad quickly uttered. "If you think that I had anything to do with is death, you're mistaken."
"We are looking at all of his students and former students that fit a certain criterion," Erica was the one to say. "So we can eliminate you as a suspect, just tell us everywhere you have been and what you were doing last Friday."
"From Friday morning to Sunday afternoon, I was with my dad. We went fishing," Brad replied before saying where he went fishing.
"To verify your statement, we will have to talk to you dad," Erica replied. "So what is his name and how do we get in touch with him?"
"That's fine," Brad began. "His name is…"
When Brad stopped talking as if to think, Erica told him, "Don't think about giving us a bogus name."
"About three weeks ago, I accidently slid down a steep hill while hiking, and was severely injured," Brad began. "Head trauma, and since then I have had a hard time remembering names of people and places—including my own name recently, so please give me a moment to think of my dad's name."
"My apologies," Erica replied. "Please continue."
After Brad took a moment to remember his dad's name, he told Erica and Nick, "His name is Charles Fields, but most everyone calls him Charlie."
"And where can we find Charlie right this moment?" Erica questioned.
Brad took a breath before telling Nick and Erica, "My dad is a mechanic at Archibald's Auto and Tire, and as far as I know, he's at work now. So may I go now?"
"Sorry, but until your dad confirms your whereabouts of last Friday, you will be our guest, and if your dad doesn't confirm your whereabouts your stay with us will be extended," Erica replied.
"Okay, well, there's no reason that he won't confirm my whereabouts," Brad replied.
"If that's the case then you will be out of here in an hour or so," Nick said as he stood. Erica stood as well. "Until then, make yourself comfortable… within reason that is."
"It appears that I don't have any choice in the matter," Brad commented.
Nick and Erica each gave him an acknowledging facial gesture before leaving the room.
"Either he's not Wesen or he's able to remain calm while he's in police custody," Nick told Erica after leaving the room.
"He seemed slightly emotional to me when he learned that he was a murder suspect," Erica replied.
"To me too," Nick replied "But I want to verify his alibi before we cut him loose."
"I have no problems with that," Erica replied. "Let's go."
After Nick and Erica left the police station, they went directly to Archibald's Auto and Tire, showed their badges and requested to speak with Charles Fields.
After Charlie left the maintenance bay and stepped up to Nick and Erica, he asked, "Is there a problem, detectives?"
"One of your son's college teachers was killed last Friday, and your son Brad is a suspect," Erica was the one to say.
"Whoa, whoa. That's impossible," Charlie replied. "First off, Brad wouldn't kill anyone and secondly, Brad was with me all day last Friday. We went on a fishing trip."
"To where?" Nick questioned. "Where did you fish?"
Charlie replied where they went—which matched Brad's story—and then produced a sales receipt of their trip to the bait and tackle shop.
"Oh, and the bait and tackle shop has security cameras," Charlie added. "If you look at their surveillance video for last Friday afternoon, you will see me and Brad on their video."
"Thanks for your time, Mr. Fields," Nick told him.
"So you will not be going after Brad now as a suspect?" Charlie asked as if for confirmation.
"Correct," Nick replied. "Your statement has confirmed your son's alibi."
"So you have spoken with Brad already about this?" Charlie asked.
"Your son is being detained at the police station, but once we call it in, he will be allowed to leave," Nick replied.
"Good," Charlie replied in a relieved tone. "Thank you."
Nick nodded with a polite grin before saying, "Have a good day. Mr. Fields."
"Good day," Charlie echoed before Nick and Erica could walk away.
"We're back to square one with no suspects," Erica told Nick as they walked away.
"Unfortunately," Nick simply replied before making their way back to Nick's car.
Around 5:05 P.M., at David and Megan's house, Kristy and David returned home.
Olivia, Megan and Ben were in the living room while watching a court show. Olivia and Ben were sitting on the couch as Megan was sitting on the recliner.
Once Kristy and David had joined Olivia, Ben and Megan in the living room, Megan asked, "Olivia, would you like to tell your mom what happened today?"
"Not really," Olivia quickly replied.
"Olivia," Megan said in a tone as if to add, "This has to be done."
"Olivia, what happened today?" Kristy asked.
Olivia considered her answer before saying, "This morning, I went to Katco with Grandmother, and while there, another customer at the store had helped me to get a box of cereal down from a high shelf; however, when he handed me the cereal and we slightly touched, I was given a frightening vision."
"And what was your vision?" Kristy asked.
"In my vision, I saw him change from a human and into a wolfman," Olivia replied.
"And what did you do after you had that vision?" Kristy asked.
"I quickly backed away from the customer and hurried to catch up with Grandmother," Olivia replied. "After catching up with her, I told her what I saw; however, she thinks that I might be seeing the inner personality of the person and not a true demon. I didn't accept that explanation though."
"Olivia, did you do anything else?" Kristy asked.
Olivia pursed her lips before saying, "A few minutes later, I saw the customer again within the frozen food section just before another customer called out Monroe. When Monroe—the customer who I had a vision about—acknowledged the other customer, they began talking and I… eavesdropped on their conversation."
"Okay," Kristy said in a tone as if she didn't know what to say. "Did anything else happen?"
"Can I plead the fifth from this point forward?" Olivia questioned.
"Olivia, finish telling your mom or I will," Megan informed.
"Fine," Olivia replied before taking a breath. "While eavesdropping, I learned that Monroe and his wife Rosalee own Exotic Spice & Tea Shop. So after getting home, I searched and found dad's camera and then I went to Exotic Spice & Tea Shop."
"I know where that shop is at, and it's not in walking distance," David supplied. "So how did you get there?"
"I took three buses and then walked the remaining block," Olivia replied.
"Okay, well what happened after you got there?" Kristy asked.
"I hid behind a parked car and readied the camera to get proof that Monroe was a demon; however, before I could take one picture, two detectives—a man and a woman—quietly stepped behind me. After they grabbed my attention when the woman detective cleared her throat, I told them that I was out sightseeing and had gotten lost. The two detectives were then kind enough to drive me home, and that's it."
Kristy pursed her lips as Megan added, "When I saw Olivia getting out of the detective's car, I rushed out to find out why Olivia was in their car."
Kristy acknowledged Megan with a slight nod before saying, "Olivia, after comparing your dream journal to actual events that had taken place within a day or two after you had written in your dream journal, I am convinced that you are getting psychic dreams; however, even though you are seeing the people in your dreams… and visions—apparently—as demons, true demons do not exist. In fact, I agree with Grandmother. I think you are dreaming and having visions about the inner personality of a person."
Olivia pursed her lips and shrugged before saying, "Grandmother grounded me for leaving the house and taking multiple bus trips. She then said that you can decide for how long I'm grounded for."
"Olivia, until I can trust that you won't go out demon hunting again, you are not to leave this house without an adult supervision," Kristy replied.
"Yes, ma'am," Olivia replied. "What about my phone, TV and computer privileges. Grandmother hadn't said anything about taking them from me, but sometimes you do when you ground me."
"You set out to get proof of something that you truly believe is true, so your actions were misguided and not malicious or disobedient," Kristy began. "With that said, I don't see it's necessary to take away those privileges."
"Thanks, Mom," Olivia replied.
"Yes, well, this extreme behavior needs to stop, Olivia, or…" Kristy said before realizing that she didn't know what to do next. "Actually, I don't even know how to finish that sentence. I now believe that Dr. Sturgeon was right and you're not mentally incompetent, so I won't send you to another psychiatrist."
"For not being a train therapist, Athena does a great job at being one," David informed. "Olivia could talk with her about her dreams."
"You want Olivia to get therapy from a fortune teller?" Ben questioned.
"She's a Tarot card reader and as I said, for not being a therapist, she does a great job at being one," David replied. "Plus, Athena and her two sisters could help Olivia to understand her psychic ability."
"Olivia, Athena is a psychic who had successfully convinced your grandfather that not all psychics are frauds," Kristy began. "And as you heard, he is endorsing her ability as a therapist. So would you be willing to talk to Athena about your dreams and visions?"
Olivia shrugged before saying, "Okay. Sure. Talking with her shouldn't hurt anything."
"Okay," Kristy replied. "We will go to her tomorrow and talk with her. Meanwhile, for supper, Ben; Olivia, what do you want to eat?"
"I want Taco Bell," Ben replied.
When Olivia didn't answer, Kristy asked, "What about you, Olivia? Is Taco Bell okay with you?"
"Actually, I have a craving for BBQ ribs from Adam's Steakhouse," Olivia replied.
"Where is Adam's Steakhouse?" Kristy asked.
Olivia said the name of the intersection and then said, "The last bus I took had drove past the steakhouse just before I got off. And I know they serve ribs because I saw ribs being advertised on a sign outside the restaurants."
"I would like to change my answer to BBQ ribs as well," Ben replied.
"Okay," Kristy replied. "Ribs do sound good. Mom; Dad, do you want ribs as well?"
"Sure," David and Megan replied.
"Adam's Steakhouse has excellent food," Megan added. "However, they don't deliver."
"That's fine, Mom, I'm okay with going to get the food," Kristy replied. "Although, I'm going to change into blue jeans and a shirt."
"I'm going to change my clothes as well," David replied before he and Kristy walked away.
Olivia, Ben and Megan continued to watch the court show.
Around 5:25 P.M., just after the thought came to her, Kristy passed up Adam's Steakhouse and parked at the first available parking space to Exotic Spice & Tea Shop.
Kristy didn't hesitate to leave her SUV and entered the shop.
Rosalee had just grabbed the key from the register to lock the door when the announcement bell chimed.
"Oh, I'm sorry, we close at this time," Rosalee told Kristy before indicating to the key in her hand. "In fact, I was on my way to lock the front door now."
"Actually, I'm not here to buy anything; I'm here to give you head's up about something," Kristy began as she moved closer to Rosalee. Monroe was in the back and when he heard Kristy, he moved towards the front "Are you Rosalee?"
"I am," Rosalee said in a cautious tone. "And who are you?"
"I'm Kristy Cain," she replied as Monroe was stepping in from the back room. Kristy looked towards him before asking, "And are you Monroe?"
"I am," Monroe replied as he stepped up to Rosalee's side. "And I heard you introducing yourself as Kristy Cain, but who are you exactly?"
"This morning at Katco, you had helped my daughter to get a box of cereal off from a high shelf," Kristy replied.
"Should I have not helped her with the box of cereal?" Monroe questioned.
"You helping her was fine," Kristy assured him. "It's just that, Olivia—my daughter—has been getting dreams of demons, and has convinced herself that demons are real. Anyway, when you helped Olivia out, she had gotten a waking dream… or a vision—I should say—of you transforming into a wolfman."
"So your daughter thinks that I'm a wolfman?" Monroe questioned and acting as if this was all new information to him.
Rosalee pursed her lips.
"I'm a psychiatrist, so I know my daughter sounds mentally incompetent," Kristy began. "In fact, I had her mentally evaluated recently, which somehow her psychiatrist gave her a clean bill of mental health. Anyway, Monroe, my daughter learned your name, your wife's name and about this shop from eavesdropping on a conversation that you had with another customer at Katco. And earlier, she attempted to come here and get proof that you were a wolfman, but she was stopped by two detectives before reaching your front door. The detectives were then kind enough to drive her home without knowing the real purpose of her being outside your store, so I'm scared that she might try to come here again. And if she does come here again, I prefer if you would call me and not the police." Kristy went into her purse as she continued to say, "Let me give you my business card; although, only my cellphone number on the card is valid. My kids and I moved here to Portland from Twin Falls yesterday, so the Twin Falls address is no longer valid."
"Good to know," Monroe replied. He then—as if to play along—asked, "Anyway, is your daughter dangerous?"
"She's not looking to kill any demons or wolfman, so no, I'm certain that Olivia wouldn't do anything to harm you," Kristy replied as she pulled out a business card from her wallet. "She just wants to expose you as a wolfman."
"Dr. Cain, it sounds as if your daughter is a psychic, and your daughter's psychic vision about me is accurate," Monroe replied as Kristy was handing him one of her cards.
Rosalee shot him a look as if to ask, "What are you doing?"
"Are you telling me that you are a wolfman?" Kristy questioned as she took a step back.
Monroe ignored the look he got from Rosalle, and as he glanced at Kristy's business card, he said, "On Halloween night and for all of those Halloween parties I attend, I am, and I've been dressing up as a wolfman for a quite a few years now. I would show you the mask, but it's packed away and it might take me an hour or two to find."
"Believe me, it's not necessary for you to show me the mask," Kristy replied in a slight relieved tone. She then gestured towards the door. "Anyway, I bothered you and your wife enough for one evening."
"Oh, no, this wasn't a bother," Monroe assured her.
Kristy slightly grinned before saying, "Okay, well, I need to get going anyway. Have a good evening."
"Have a good evening," Monroe and Rosalee echoed before Kristy could turn and walk away.
Kristy left the shop and when the door closed behind her, Rosalee told Monroe, "You had me worried when you told Dr. Cain that her daughter's psychic vision of you was accurate."
Monroe grinned before saying, "Olivia is the third psychic who has had a vision of me being Blutbad… although she is the first one who had a vision of me transitioning from human to Blutbad. Anyway, the excuse I gave Dr. Cain is the excuse I gave the other two psychics when they had a vision of me as a Blutbad."
"Hmm, I never ran into a psychic who saw me as a Fuchsbau," Rosalee said before locking the door and turning over the close sign.
"And that's a good thing," Monroe replied.
Rosalee gave an agreeing nod and a grin before moving into Monroe's arms for a hug.
Once back in her SUV, Kristy went to Adam's Steakhouse and ordered ribs, chicken, bake beans, potato salad, a house salad and cole slaw.
Several minutes later, Kristy was spreading out the food on her parents' dining room table.
As Olivia, Megan, Ben and David were taking their seats at the table, Kristy confessed that she went to Exotic Spice & Tea Shop.
"Mom, you didn't," Olivia quickly said.
"I did, and I met Monroe and Rosalee," Kristy said as she took her seat. "They were about to close up when I walked in so we didn't talk long."
"Just the fact that you talked to them at all makes your discussion with them too long," Olivia replied.
"Olivia, be nice," Kristy ordered.
"I'm sorry," Olivia began. "I just don't know why you would go there or what you would say to them."
"Olivia, you are obsessed with proving the existence of demons and I feel that you will sneak off to Exotic Spice & Tea Shop at the first chance you get," Kristy replied. "So I told Monroe and Rosalee about your dreams, about how you actually believe that demons are real and about the vision that you had of Monroe."
"I bet they thought I was nuts, didn't they," Olivia replied, only to test Kristy's response.
"On the contrary," Kristy replied. "Monroe told me that each year for the past several years, he dresses up as a wolfman for Halloween and for all those Halloween parties that he would go to, and he's convinced that your psychic vision is about that."
"There you go, Olivia," Megan replied, as if her point was made. "As I said earlier, when you have your psychic dreams and visions, I believe you are seeing the inner personality that dwells inside all of us. And obviously Monroe has a strong connection to a wolfman; otherwise he wouldn't dress up as one each Halloween."
"Maybe you're right," Olivia replied in a staged tone as if her former belief about demons was still there, but waning.
"Olivia, I told Monroe and Rosalee to call me if you would show up at their shop," Kristy added. Olivia simply pursed her lips. "Anyway, let's eat."
Olivia nodded before moving to fix her plate. The others went to fix their plates as well.
Tuesday morning, around 7:10 A.M., Olivia was awaken by someone blowing his or her horn outside; however, instead of turning over and going back to sleep, she grabbed her new dream journal (an old spiral notebook that she was now hiding from everyone) and began writing about how four men with cat-like facial features had abducted three women with mouse-like facial features off the streets and had forced them into a single cage. Olivia also described the clothes that everyone was wearing.
Once the men had the women in the cage, the cage was loaded onto a truck and hauled to a reclusive mansion. Olivia had described the mansion as best as she could as she wrote. Once at the mansion, the three recently abducted women was thrown into a room with fifteen other women. The fifteen women each had a facial feature of a rodent of some kind.
Olivia continue to write, "A women with rabbit-like facial features and ears told the three abducted mouse-women, 'forget who you were before. This is your life now.' I believe the rabbit-woman had continued to say something after that, but I was awaken by someone blowing his or her horn."
After writing her last line, Olivia put away her dream journal and went to get dress.
Around 10:00 A.M., Olivia, Kristy and David walked into Third Eye bookstore. David carried Olivia's old dream journal. However, every dream since May 24th were in Olivia's new journal.
Helen was organizing the shelf on past life regression when the three stepped in and after seeing who all had walked in, she was now walking towards them.
Athena had recently stepped into the backroom with a client and Phoebe had been summoned for jury duty and was currently at the courthouse, so Helen was the only one out front.
Since Athena, Helen and Phoebe styled their hair differently so people can distinguish them from each other, David knew who was stepping up to them.
"Good morning, Dr. Chang," Helen told him. "I see you brought us more customers."
"Not exactly," David replied. As he made gestures towards Kristy and Olivia, he introduced them to Helen and Helen to them.
"It's nice to meet both of you," Helen told Kristy and Olivia and shaking their hands.
When Helen shook Olivia's hand, Olivia had gotten a vision of Helen being a woman with solid white eyes as if blind, ivy green skin and elf-like ears and facial features.
"Anyway, we are here to speak with Athena," David continued.
"Athena had just stepped into the backroom with a customer and she won't be done until ten-fifty," Helen replied. "Perhaps I can help."
"Grandfather, I change my mind," Olivia quickly said. "I don't think Athena or Helen can help me."
"Olivia, don't be silly," David replied before facing Helen. Olivia cringed and squirmed slightly as David continued to say, "Helen, you might be able to help. Soon after Olivia had turned fifteen on March 24th, she has been dreaming of demon attacks. Since demons aren't actually real, at first we thought that Olivia's dreams was psychological; however, after doing research, we learned that for every one of Olivia's dreams, the details of her dream would match the details of an unsolved homicide, a bizarre death or a death from an animal attack."
"Wow, so Olivia is psychically dreaming about people's untimely deaths, but she is seeing these deaths as demon attacks," Helen commented as if to herself and glancing at Olivia.
"Correct," David replied. "And to show you I've brought Olivia's dream journal from March 25th to May 20th and newspaper clippings that correlates to each of her dreams."
"Would you have a bathroom that I could use?" Olivia questioned as she touched her smartphone. Her smartphone was in her right-back pocket. "I really… really need to use it."
"Yeah, sure, you can use our bathroom," Helen replied before telling her where to find it.
"Thanks," Olivia replied before rushing to the restroom.
"Anyway, Helen, here is Olivia's dream journal, along with the research that was done with it," David said while gesturing towards the binder.
Helen took the binder, carried it to the counter and opened it up to the first page.
Olivia found the restroom fairly easy, and after entering and locking the door, she repeated her Google search for Exotic Spice & Tea Shop on her smartphone, but this time, once the search-results popped up, she memorized the phone number to the shop. She then called the shop.
"Spice & Tea," Rosalee replied after the second ring. "How can I help you?"
"Rosalee?" Olivia questioned.
"Yes, I'm Rosalee," she replied. "Who is this?"
"It's Olivia; we met yesterday afternoon," she replied.
"Oh, hi, Olivia," Rosalee began. "I don't know if you know this or not, but your mom stopped by my shop yesterday just as I was about to close for the night."
"Yes, she told me once she got home," Olivia replied in an anxious tone.
Rosalee caught the tone and quickly asked, "Are you okay? You sound troubled."
"I'm at Third Eye bookstore, the three owners are some kind of Wesen with psychic ability and one of them is seconds away from discovering that I'm a witness," Olivia rattled out.
"Yes, I'm acquainted with Athena, Helen and Phoebe and they are a rare breed of Weson known as a Woodland Faye; however, as long as you don't ask Athena or Helen for a psychic reading, they shouldn't learn about you being a witness."
"Yes, well, my grandfather knows them quite well and trusts them as legitimate psychics, and he thinks that they can help me to understand my psychic dreams," Olivia replied. "Oh, and he and my mom are currently showing Helen my dream journal and newspaper clippings that correlates to each of my dreams."
"Okay, now I see why you are troubled," Rosalee replied. "Nick is acquainted with the sisters as well, and as soon as I hang up with you, I will call him and let him know about your situation."
"And what should I do in the mean time?" Olivia asked.
"The sisters won't expose themselves as Wesen, so you're not in any immediate danger," Rosalee told her. "So just act as if you had never met me, Monroe or Nick and that you still believe that you are dreaming about demons."
"Okay," Olivia replied in an uncertain tone. "Bye."
"Bye," Rosalee replied before Olivia could hang up.
Once Olivia had put her phone away, she left the bathroom and rejoined her mom and grandfather. Helen was comparing Olivia's dreams to the to the news articles.
"Your dream journal is very interesting, Olivia," Helen told her while glancing at her. As she turned back towards the material, she continued to say, "You definitely witnessed some awful deaths."
"That's me, the witness," Olivia facetiously said. "Except I seriously doubt that the police will have me ID a demon from a lineup."
"My mom and I both believe that what Olivia is seeing is the inner personality that dwells inside all of us, and since our inner personalities don't have faces, Olivia's dreams are giving them faces," Kristy replied.
"Yes, I can see why you would think that," Helen replied.
"So can you help my daughter?" Kristy asked.
"Can you be more specific?" Helen asked. "In what way do you want my and my sisters' help?"
"Well, Olivia needs to understand her psychic ability and her dreams," Kristy replied. "She's dreaming of demons killing people even when the deaths occurred from freak accidents."
"There is nothing that my sisters and I could do to change that," Helen replied as she turned the page of the notebook.
"Athena is a great therapist, even though she isn't one professionally," David told Helen. "So if nothing more, perhaps Olivia could come here when she feels overwhelmed by her dreams and talk with Athena about them."
"Of course Olivia is always welcome to come here and speak with Athena or me… or even Phoebe," Helen replied. Olivia pursed her lips. "However, my best recommendation for Olivia is to continue writing out her dreams as she has been doing and to meditate at least once a day."
"I don't know anything about meditation," Olivia quickly informed.
"We have meditation classes every Saturday morning from ten to ten-fifty and again from eleven to eleven-fifty, and if you don't want to join one of our classes, we sell books on the subject," Helen informed as she continued to look at the current page in the notebook.
"I would like to sign her up for the ten to ten-fifty class," David said quickly.
"Grandfather," Olivia uttered. "Maybe I don't want to join."
"Olivia, meditation is always good to know," David told her. "It is also always good to learn it from someone who knows how to do it then to learn it on your own. That way you won't pick up bad habits."
"Do you know how to meditate, Grandfather?" Olivia asked.
"I do; although I don't meditate as often as I should," David replied.
"Then why can't I learn how to meditate from you?" Olivia questioned. "In fact, we could meditate together."
"Because I taught myself how to meditate and I'm certain that I have bad habits that I don't want to pass onto you," David replied. "And if you want us to meditate together, I'll sign up for the class as well."
Olivia shrugged while saying, "Okay. Fine. We'll sign up together."
"How about you, Kristy, will you be signing up as well?" Helen asked as she closed the notebook.
"Sure, what the hell," Kristy replied. "We'll make it into a family project."
"Excellent," Helen replied as she held out the binder for David to take.
"I might be able to talk my son into it as well," Kristy continued.
"You should call me if you can; that way I can make sure I don't overbook the class," Helen replied.
"Of course," Kristy replied. "Anyway, I would like to grab a book or two on meditation before we leave."
"The books on meditation are in that area of the store," Helen told Kristy while pointing.
"Thanks," Kristy replied before walking towards the books.
Olivia and David followed Kristy to the meditation books, and after Kristy picked out three books and paid for them, she, Olivia and David left the store.
Kristy had driven to the bookstore, and the only reason she had to drive home again was to drop Olivia off at the house.
Olivia—while carrying Kristy's books—got out and shut her door, and as she was walking towards the house, Kristy drove to work. David made small talk during the drive.
Once Olivia was inside, she sat down in the living and began reading one of the books.
To Be Continued.
