Wraith P.O.V

I start to show Crypto around the complex, with a comfortable silence surrounding us, at least for me it is. I've always hated the silence; it allowed my thoughts to run wild. Nonetheless, with Crypto, it feels better; it feels right. Crypto's hands are shoved into his pockets with one hand fiddling with something, and Hack nowhere to be seen; he overall like he did when we first met, calm, cool, and collected. I, however, on the other hand, am even more distressed than usual, and I haven't said much. I'm constantly checking the corners as well behind us as we walk down the winding hallways.

-front, left side 2m

-that was mean

-yeah, but she deserves it

I get knocked out of my inner musings and onto my ass when I bump into Octane, accidentally knocking off one of his legs in the process. Crypto, meanwhile, has a slight scowl on his face and has zipped up his jacket more, and has attempted to hide his face using his oversized coat. However, he does offer me a hand to help me get off the ground and gives me a slight smile. I was so surprised by Octane I didn't even realize until I felt the electricity course through my body from that touch. Octane, unfazed by the encounter, jumps back up using his 1 leg and grabs the leg off the ground to reattach it. His face tenses up a bit, realizing the imposing figure in front of him, but Crypto merely brushes him off and continues walking.

"Is that the new legend? Man he's gone scary dude, amigo," says Octane. "I thought he was gonna knock me out with that glare he was giving me," while chuckling a bit.

"..yea.. Sorry was just showing him around," I reply

Octane waves me off and leaves without any further.

-how do you bump into someone I warned you about

-don't tell me you didn't realize I was talking to you

-honestly, surprised you can even walk

"Crypto wait up," I yell, to which Crypto stops and turns around.

"Are you alright, I'm surprised you fell, that was Octane correct?"

I blush slightly and reply, "Yeah I'm alright thanks, how'd you know who that was"

"It's what I do, let's get this tour started now?" he responds with a smile; however, this feels different. It feels forced.

Narrator P.O.V

Wraith continues their little tour. She end ups showing Crypto a variety of buildings housing different activities such as; the community pool, gym, cafeteria, cafe theatre, the bar which is under Mirage's ownership, training room, observation platform, and finally the actual battleground; however they're not allowed to go inside, so we look from the observation platform. By the time we're done, it ends up being a bit past 7 since Crypto took his time carefully observing each room intently and kept asking Wraith if she knew where all the cameras would be, which she found odd. When they finished, they ended up at the main lobby with nothing too special except for an aquarium tucked away hugging the corner wall of the lobby; they both decided to take a seat near it.

Wraith P.O.V

"Thanks for the tour Wraith I really enjoyed it, I really appreciate you doing this, anyway I could pay you back?" Crypto says.

I look at him head-on again for what feels like the 50th time today. I can't help but be entranced by those damned eyes. I blush every so slightly and hope he didn't notice as I say, "No problem Crypto I enjoyed it too, it was a fun time. W- We could gra- grab dinner tonight….. fo- for you payi- paying me back." As soon as those words left my mouth, I felt sick to my stomach, and time slowed.

-what are you saying?!

-have you gone mad

-she's officially crazy

I couldn't believe I was so direct with him, and why, we barely know each other, and yet I want to spend more time with him. I yearn for that electricity I've been feeling with him; each time we touch, I feel content, at peace. I haven't felt this way for a long, long time, and yet despite knowing that those voices are most likely correct, that I am crazy, that I shouldn't hold out hope for someone like hi-.

"Yeah I'd be glad to go, I'm actually pretty hungry where do you want to go?" he replies

I stared at him for a while, with what was likely a stupid expression plastered on my face as he began to laugh lightly. With each laugh, each word that came out of his mouth, I felt rejuvenated; the voices that caused me so much discomfort both physically and socially became quiet as if he cleared all my doubts, worries, anxiety by simply being there.

"I'm sorry for laughing I just didn't expect you look at me like that, did you not want to be seen with m-"

"NO!, I - I mean of course no- not I was ju-just surprised you asked," I managed to choke out.

Crypto stands up. The darkness from the corner of the room and the bright lights hanging above and behind him gave him such a comforting, and angelic effect. For the first time in a long time, I felt genuinely safe, as if nothing wrong could happen to me as long as I was with him. He extends his hand out to me, and I grab onto it, and he hoists me up, here's to a great team member, a great friend, and hopefully…. more I won't let this chance slip between my fingers, not after I've fought for so long and so hard for something more.
