It would, as you might expect from these two, most definitely not be the last time Church and Tex met. Despite its significance it might actually not even be that memorable. Or at least compared to the other moments they shared in Sidewinder. Maybe one of their best however was when Tex got asked out on her first ever date, and when Church went on the first ever date that he enjoyed. It wasn't with each other though…

Blue team was having their annual Christmas party in the base. By this point Tex was practically a part of the team despite her statement of being a neutral color. She was also one of the few females in the base. So of course someone would ask her to the dance, and of course it wouldn't be Church, who has absolutely no balls and refused to just go up and ask her.

Also, in case you're wondering, Church most definitely DID put ice in Mickey's pillow when he asked out Tex. He DID punch his own pillow in a jealous fit while he was alone, and he DID ask out another blue just in the hope he would make Tex jealous.

Safe to say it worked. Because on the flip side, when Tex found out he was taking that blue lieutenant Cassie to the dance. She most definitely did kick an ice block so hard it cracked down the middle, she most definitely did throw her gun at the end of target practice, and she most definitely did give Cassie the worst glare of all time in the days leading up to the Christmas party.

At the moment Tex was bitterly sulking on the side of the base. There was suddenly the sound of approaching footsteps behind her. She didn't even bother to turn and look,

"Not now Mickey...got stuff on my mind." Tex sighed,

"Well if I were Mickey I'd back away right now," Tex whirled to see Church smugly standing there, "But I'm not."

"Clearly," snarled Tex, "HE knows what's good for him"

Church gave a frown from inside his helmet at that comment. Nonetheless he continued his current route and sat right beside Tex who shuffled a little away as he did. If it was meant to insult him, Church would probably lie and say it was petty and that he didn't care.

The two sat in begrudging silence for a while. Until Tex spoke up (she is always the first to speak up),

"So what's Cassie like?" she spat out, doing her best to restrain the edge in her voice. Church simply took this opportunity to be a snide asshole,

"Oh she's great," He smugly held his head a little higher, "Athletic, Hot, Smart, envy of every blue in Sidewinder, and I scored a date with her."

The little shit was savoring this wasn't he? Tex could practically feel the waves of arrogance radiating off of him. All to lure out her sensitivity and jealousy...and still Tex took the bait,

"Oh well Mickey is just an amazing guy," Tex was pretty much lying through her teeth there, "He cooks, he's considerate, he's a really good shot too."

Tex attempted to mockingly hold her own head higher above Church. She hoped that this little jealousy stoker would also have a similar effect to Church's. Instead the sim-trooper threw his head back and laughed at her.
Tex was pretty stunned. Church was just guffawing at her. WHAT WAS SO FUNNY TO HIM?!

"What are you laughing at cockbite?" Tex dangerously spoke to Church, the trooper stopped laughing and turned to look at her.

Removing his helmet revealed the disheveled black hair, a small bit of stubble and a grin wide as the rings of saturn plastered across Church's pale face.

"You really are a terrible liar. I've seen Mickey shoot, he's worse than me!" Church kept laughing. Tex swore internally.

Church was just laughing it all up, having a grand old time. The worst part...that goddamn laugh and smile. She knew it was all going to someone else, and though Tex would deny it, she felt the pang of jealousy ring around in her mechanical chest.

"Well, I also know he isn't right for you." Church had stopped laughing at this point. Tex just sat rigid and stared at the man.

"What the hell do you know?" Tex spat at him, not trying to restrain her temper this time. Church simply gave a frown that felt oddly...sincere,

"I know for starters that he's going with you for the popularity, I also know he doesn't give a shit about you or your emotions," Tex hated to admit how he was right, Mickey was nothing short of an ignorant bastard, "and finally, I realize that you aren't into him either."

Tex could not overstate how much she hated how right he was. Luckily it could also not be overstated her stubbornness for him not to get the last laugh.

"You don't know shit Church." She hissed at him.

"I know enough Tex." Church was speaking softer now,

"Yeah? Well clearly not enough to ask Cassie out on a date," She whirled on the blue male, removing her helmet so that he could see her anger, "That bitch dates guys then dumps them for cash. What makes you think she won't just use you as a quick fuck?"

Church was dead silent as he stared into the Tex's eyes. She had NEVER removed her helmet before. It took a minute for Tex to register this too, and she hurried to shove the helmet right back onto her head. But was quickly stopped from doing so by Church who grabbed her wrists tightly as he continued to stare at her in awe. About a minute of staring and Tex was blushing and feeling very uncomfortable, yet she refused to squirm. She stayed rigidly solid holding eye contact with the blue sim-trooper until finally she cracked, tearing away her gaze and twisting her and her wrists away. God she felt like some pathetic fucking teenager, what the hell was this?!

"What asshole?" She asked Church, suddenly the grip on her wrists was loosened and Tex felt a hand on the side of her face (artificial it may be).

Slowly the hand tilted Tex's face until the blonde fully faced Church. Church suddenly leaned backwards, as if taking in a wide frame picture. Tex was pretty fed up now,

"WHAT IS IT ASSH-." Tex's words died in her throat and melted off her lips, which were currently firmly connected to Church's.

They were kissing

This took about five minutes to register in her brain

It took her another ten minutes to fully take in the events. But by that point, she had a lot more on her mind. For example: She was currently in Church's bed, in Church's quarters, NAKED, and with Church (also naked) lying down back to back with her. In case you need any more hints, Tex was currently taking in the fact that she had just banged the Alpha. She had just banged Church. They banged. They fucked. What in the hell.

Tex was going to have a full on mental breakdown. SHE HAD FUCKED. THE FUCKING. ALPHA. What cruel deities had decided to be toying with her like this.
Despite all of her confusion. Tex wasn't upset, she wasn't angry, at least not because of this. THIS, this was what she wanted. A part of her wondered how long it would really last for her. But nonetheless she flipped onto the other side and wrapped her arms around the surprisingly thin frame of Church, pretty much spooning the slightly taller male.
Church in reciprocation wrapped one of his hands with hers. The two simply lay there for a minute before Church spoke up,

"So do you wanna go to the dance with me?"

"Sure thing cockbite," Church smiled at her, "but we gotta break that to Mickey and Cassie."

"No, you just need to break it to Mickey."

"...What."

"Me and Cassie were never gonna go together, I just wanted to have some fun when asking you out." Church smiled smugly as he faced away from Tex who buried her face in his back.

"Fuck you." she hissed affectionately,

"You already did." Church shot back with a smile. He could feel Tex smile too.
