chapter 3 Hannah's friend Nancy

Today Hannah brought a friend of hers from Griffin rock. She was busy coloring. "Hi Hannah," the recruits said coming in.

"Hi guys," Hannah said.

"Who is this?" Hoist asked.

"This is my friend Nancy," Hannah said.

"Hi Nancy nice to meet you I am Hot shot," Hot shot said.

"I'm Wedge," Wedge said.

"My name is Whirl," Whirl said.

"I am called Medix," Medix said.

"I'm Hoist," Hoist said. "Nancy?" he asked.

"She's not listening to us," Wedge said.

"She's just focusing on drawing right now," Hannah said.

"Oh," Medix said.

"Can we see what you are drawing?" Hoist asked.

Nancy kept on drawing. "It sometimes takes Nancy a while to answer." Hannah said.

"That's right," Cody said. "It helps to ask again," he said.

"Nancy can the recruits see your drawing?" Hannah asked.

"See drawing? Yes," Nancy said.

Hannah showed them the drawing which was of penguin. "A penguin nice," Medix said.

"Penny," Nancy said holding her stuffed penguin.

"Yes that does look like your penguin penny," Hannah said. "You are so creative," she said.

Then Nancy flapped her hands and ran off.

"Hannah are you sure your friend likes us?" Medix asked.

"Are you sure who likes you?" Ratchet said coming in.

"Oh Hannah's friend Nancy, she doesn't see to answer us much," Medix said.

"Guys this is the first time you met Nancy," Hannah said.

"So she's shy?" Medix asked.

"Yes maybe that's it," Hot shot said.

"Yeah," the others agreed.

"Well with Nancy it's not just that she has Autism she likes it when people know that," Hannah said.

"Autism what is that?" Wedge asked.

"It is a spectrum disorder that is a developmental disorder, and it's different for everyone who has it some are like me, I am on the spectrum, they talk a lot, they can do everything themselves, they only seem to have a few communication issues like how to converse properly or understand what someone is saying. While in Nancy's case she might not say much and she is able to do things for herself, but she may have trouble expressing is if something is wrong, or if she wants or needs something," Hannah said. "But Nancy is a lot of fun," she said.

"Play game!" Nancy said coming up.

"Sure we can play a game," Hannah said.

"How about basketball?" Hoist asked.

"Or soccer?" Whirl asked.

"I know a game we can play," Cody said. "Rescue ball," he said.

"Did I hear Rescue ball?" Heatwave asked. "We haven't played that is in awhile," he said.

"Ha, ha rescue ball," Nancy said clapping.

"Mind if my friend Nancy joins in?" Hannah asked.

"Not all," Heatwave said. "Hey, Blades, Chase, Boulder we are starting a game of rescue ball," he called.

The teams were set up.

"I will keep score," Perceptor said.

"I will standby to give first aid," Ratchet said.

"Okay everyone there is one rule to rescue ball, do what you can to get the ball into the other teams goal so in other word there are no rules," Heatwave said.

They started to play. "Here I come," Grimlock said.

Hot shot blasted the ball into the goal with the hose of his fire engine mode. "Goal!" Hot shot said letting sirens go.

"Noise! Noise!" Nancy said covering her ears looking upset.

"Hot shot stop you're hurting Nancy and I's ears!" Hannah shouted her ears were covered too.

Hot shot stopped his sirens. "How was I hurting your ears my siren isn't that loud," Hot shot said.

"It is to us," Hannah said. "People with Autism have sensitive ears so please no more sirens," she said.

Nancy calmed down a bit.

"Sorry," Hot shot said. "I didn't mean to bother you," he said.

"Okay those of you who have sirens no sirens for celebrations because of what Hannah explained," Perceptor said.

They all nodded.

Soon Nancy stopped playing and was looking for something. "Penny?" she said. "Penny can't find," she said.

"You can't find Penny?" Hannah said.

Then Nancy started to rock she was upset. "Hey what's this?" Brushfire asked picking something up. It was Penny the plush penguin.

"Penny," Nancy said when she saw the toy in Brushfire's hand.

"Huh?" Brushfire said.

"That is Penny the penguin, she is Nancy's special toy," Hannah said.

"Here you go," Brushfire said handing it to Nancy.

"Thank you," Nancy said.

"You know Hannah Nancy isn't like any friend I have," Medix said.

"So not all of us are the same," Hannah said. "Cody, Nancy and I are humans, you are medical bot, Hoist is an engineer, Hot shot is an athlete, Wedge is a construction vehicle, Whirl is a police trainee, Grimlock, Snarl and Sludge are dinobots, Heatwave is a fire truck, Chase is a police officer, Boulder is a bulldozer, Blades is a helicopter, Ratchet is a ambulance, Bumblebee is a sports car, Brushfire is an ATV, Perceptor is a microscope and Lazerbeak is bird like." she said.

"Yes Hannah is right we are all different, Hannah where glasses and I don't and I have blonde hair and Hannah and Nancy have darker hair," Cody said.

"See everyone here at the academy is different but that doesn't mean we all can't be friends," Hannah said.

"That is right," Bumblebee said.

"I guess your right," Medix said.

Nancy came up with a flower. "Medix," she said handing him the flower.

"For me? Thank you," Medix said.

"Looks like they are friends now," Hannah said.
