Chapter 03: The Bats Out of Hell
"Damn it! She has gotten away!" A humanoid female growled to herself in bitter disgust, as she keeps punching the matress of in her bed in her personal hovel. "She keeps eluding us! My old assassins guild...My master...Lord Ridley...They must all be avenged!"
This humanoid female, she is known as Miki Coatl. She is a member of the Vaipra race, native to the planet Zmeu. The Vaipra woman has pale, chalky gray skin, short dark greenish-black hair with part of her bangs covering her right eye. Her eyes are like that of a serpent, her figure being slender, yet slightly bottom heavy, and is usually seen in dark colored outfits, the typical outfits for assassins like her. Though her face looks like that of a human woman, but she can open her mouth up much bigger and wider than that of a human. On top of a large mouth, she has a mouthful of sharp, dagger like teeth.
Miki Coatl is one of the most feared assassins from the vast frontiers of outer space. The first guild of space assassins that took her in, known as "The Crimson Vipers", was in close ties with the Zebesian Space Pirates, Greed Corporation, and other criminal organizations that threatened the peace of the galaxy. Miki pillaged, plundered, and slaughted without showing signs of mercy. In fact, those vile things mentioned brought the Vaipra assassin great joy and pleasure from her dark, dank, twisted mind.
"Yes, I remember the good old days of The Crimson Vipers..." Miki thought to herself, feeling rather gloomy thinking of her past failures. "We would have gotten with it, if it wasn't for that damned bounty hunter named Samus Aran. If only...urgh!"
Yes, Miki remembered the old days, the downfall of The Crimson Vipers. Yes, it brought memories of bitter failure to Miki, but if it wasn't for the disbanded group, she would have never met her Lord Ridley and his crew of Zebesian space pirates.
Yes, Miki was in quite a relationship with Ridley. However, it was a dark, twisted, relationship, where the abuse went both ways. They were both victims and victimizers at the same time. It was a relationship free of innocence, since neither party had a concept of innocence. But neither party cared who, or what got hurt, nor what got corrupted. For both her and Ridley, pain is pleasure, and love is extremely painful, in more ways than one.
Many years ago, after the fall of the Crimson Vipers, Miki was going to aid Ridley in a very special experiment...A day she never fogotten, and held dear to her.
"Miki! GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!" Ridley shrieks in rage, as he breaks apart the door that led to Miki's chamber.
Miki just rolled her eyes back, groaning, "Yeah Yeah Lord Ridley, I'm coming..!"
When Miki gotten out of the room she was in, stomped her way out in frustration, she was greeted by a very displeased Ridley. "Humph, what now Lord Ridley?"
Ridley stomped his way over to Miki, stopped, folded his arms, and gave the assassin a very angry look. "So you have been killing Metroids, harvesting their remains, canning their remains, and force feeding them to grieving Chozo before killing the Chozo, correct?"
Miki replied with forced laughter. "Oh ho ho ho! Of course my Lord. Isn't it enough I cause misery to the Chozo clan? What more could you want?"
Ridley slapped Miki hard, then grabs on to her head, digging his claws into her sides, just enough to draw a little bit of her blood. "DAMMIT YOU STUPID TWAT! Don't you know...You are wasting lives recklessly? Don't you see that the Metroids have some untapped potential?"
Miki started to feel rather disgruntled and confused with what her precious Lord was saying to her. "But those Metroids. They are just a bunch of dumb mindless parasites. What potential do those stupid things even have?"
"Stupid parasites? STUPID PARASITES?!" Ridley screemed as he violently shook Miki. "No, no! Don't you see? The Metroid are actually sentient beings created and breed by the Chozo. Not only are they breed to keep them company, but they are bred to protect the Chozo, as well as keep various predators at bay."
"So, what do you want me to do instead my Lord Ridley?" Miki snarled sarcastically.
Ridley slightly loosened his grip on Miki's head, faced the assassin, and wore a wicked grin on his beak-like snout. "Well, while I assist my fellow space pirates with re-programming Mother Brain with serving us, I want you to assist my group of scientists with breeding, as well as genetically engineering the Metroids to turn against their beloved Chozo, making them into biological weapons."
Ridley lets go of Miki's head. Miki clutches her head briefly, just before looking up at Ridley, with a huge grin on her pale face. She then grabs the hand Ridley attacked her with, and kisses the back of it in twisted joy. "Oh my Lord, you are a genius! I love your idea!"
Ridley smiles back, playfully rubbing Miki on her head. "Now that's the spirit! Now...get to work! Make us proud Miki."
"I will make you all proud indeed my Lord!" Miki said as she was led by a group of Zebesian scientists to aid them with their genetic engineering experiments. She follows the scientists to the lab, feeling a way of twisted joy as she assisted them with their cruel experiment. "Oh yes...Yessss... Ridley, you are a genius. Heh heh! This is going to be the best day of my life. Ah ha ha ha!"
"Oh man, those were the days..." Miki thought to herself as her flashback ended. "It was so sweet to see the Metroids be bio-weapons, wiping out their masters...If only I can relive those glory days, but alas..."
In the present day, Miki is now a part of an intergalactic assassins guild, known as "The Bats Out of Hell". The leader of the guild, a fellow Vaipra, known by many as Radia Jeminas, ordered Miki to stay behind in their hideout, while Radia herself, ordered the other Bats Out of Hell, to join her in her journey to a place known as "The Vast Abyss". At "The Vast Abyss", it was said that there was an egg that housed the reincarnation of a whole new form of her Lord Ridley.
"My Mistress Radia better be right about this rumor..." Miki thought to herself. "She has never been wrong before. I just hope I can re-awaken the new form of Lord Ridley."
Miki was now starting to feel a little uneasy. All this work... All this work...To have the Galactic Federation on their side, as well as the surviving space pirates across the galaxy, and even corporations, like the Greed Corporation...She did not want her guild's mission to be a failure, or everything will be in vain for everyone on their side.
Miki paces around like a caged animal, unable to take her mind off of these thoughts racing through head. Everything felt like forever...Miki was anxious...so anxious...
Until...her wait finally came to an end, where she heard a familiar voice on the speakers of their hideout. The news has finally came...
"Miki...Miki Coatl! The mission to and from the Abyss has been a success! Come...come to our incubator chamber!" The female voice announced on the hideout's intercom speakers.
"I'm coming Lady Radia!" Miki cries out in anticipation as she came back to greet her fellow assassins from their successful mission.
Miki started to run down the halls and corridors of the assassin's hideout in great excitement. Miki was so excited, she ended up ramming and bowling over other assassins that got in her way. Nothing can stop her now. She was determined to meed up with Lady Radia, to see what she brought back from the Abyss.
Miki now finally gotten to the incubation chamber, were Radia was waiting. The excited assassin ignored the grumbles, cussing and swearing from the members she bowled over impatiently. As the door shuts behind the two females, Radia was ready to show Miki something special.
"Miki, my faithful disciple, I am happy to show you the bounty of our mission." The dark clothed leader of The Bats Out of Hell announced to Miki, as she guided her to the incubator before them.
With the incubators lights on, Miki is greeted with a sight that brought her joy, dark twisted joy.
Inside, there was a dark egg, that looked pitch black at first, but then, it started to glow in the colors of blood red, fire gold, and poison purple. Occasionally, when the sonogram was scanning the egg, the images brought tears of joy to Miki's darkened heart.
The sonogram showed a small, stout, gumdrop shaped creature inside. The creature was as dark as the outside of the egg. The creature was covered with dark, fur like down, had two huge, point ears, on its head, and a small tail coming out from its tail bone. The creature within the egg would occasionally open and close its mouth, showing off it's small, but needle sharp teeth off on the screen.
"Yes...YESSS!" Miki cheered in bliss. "I cannot wait for you to hatch! It will be glorious!"
Meanwhile, back at The Galactic Federation, the current leader, Chairman Guayota, is in charge. Chairman Guayota has been in charge for five years now. It was five years since the former leader, Chairman Keaton was stripped of his rank, and sent into exile to a world far, far away. Chairman Guayota has ran The Galactic Federation with an iron claw.
Guayota's appearance was just as fearsome as his personality. Guayota was a member of the crustacean like Baskar race, native to Ettoria. His shell was a shade of a crimson violet. His eyes were a piercing peridot, a shade that would stare into one's soul. His mouth was like that of a sea horse, had three pointy horns on his head, his claws were massive with seven fingers on each hand, a tall, towering height, and wore umber brown robes over his exoskeleton.
Chairman Guayota was pondering over the whereabouts of Samus Aran, alongside a missing human ex-federation member, known as Damara Toriyama, a male voice, a voice belonging to a high ranking human general, known as General Harman, started to contact the chairman. His voice sounded urgent, yet eager, to share the news to Guayota.
"Chairman Guayota, I repeat, Chaiman Guayota, are you available to speak?" General Harman's voice announced on the chairman's intercom. "I have received very important news to you about the outcome of one of our assassin guild's missions"
"Important outcome?" Chairman Guayota asked in a rather bland voice. "This better be important General Harman...Or else..."
"The Bats out of Hell assassin guild of ours has discovered a darkened egg from The Vast Abyss, deep below the blackness of the galaxy." General Harman interrupted.
"What? What did you say?!" Chairman Guayota asks, feeling both curious and excited over the news he is receiving. "Did you say one of our assassin guilds discovered a darkened egg? But how?"
"All I know, is that leader of Bats out of Hell, Radia Geminas, has told me that in The Vast Abyss, a giant abyss serpent, known as Hexxas, has laid a chaos egg, and the serpent offered the egg to the assassins." General Harman finished. "Hexxas offered the egg, giving a message to the assassins how the egg will lead to the re-birth of a new form of Ridley."
"What kind of new form?" Guayota asked.
"I don't know... not even The Bats Out of Hell know." General Harman said in a tone of excitement and nervousness. "If I were you, I would gather the whole federation for an urgent meeting, giving us this amazing discovery."
Guayota cackled back, saying, "Kya ha ha ha! Why General, you are quite brilliant. I will arrange a federation meeting as soon as possible. Thank you for the idea."
"This is General Harman, signing out!"
Many thoughts started to race through Chairman Guayota's sinister mind, as he plans a federation meeting about the news that will change their destiny for good. On Guayota's mind, he had optimistic thoughts about finding Samus, plotting revenge against her for not only destroying the BSL station, but for Samus causing the downfall of various assassin and crime organizations over the years.
"Oh yes...oh yes!" Chairman Guayota thought to himself in twisted bliss. "I will bring Samus, as well as those aligned with her, down to their knees. I will destroy them! It will be a glorious day for the Galactic Federation. Gyo ho ho ho hooooo!"
