Normal POV
"It's simple Natsu... You accept how things are or you can leave... I love Laxus whether you like it or not... Now if you're truly my friend you'll accept what is..." Lucy said trying to keep the tears from falling. She hated having to do this to him but it was the only way to get through to him. She was mated and married to Laxus and Natsu needed to accept the choice she made.
Natsu hung his head. He couldn't believe that this happened and he only had himself to blame. He knew he shouldn't have left but he still didn't like the situation.
"Alright Luce..." Natsu said as his bangs covered his eyes.
Lucy let her hand fall to her side. "Good... The last thing I really wanted to do was to do that... But if push came to shove I would if you keep pushing this... Now if you calm down the runes will let you out... I have work to do..." Lucy said as she walked away into the kitchen with Laxus following behind her.
"Why couldn't she have waited..." Natsu asked out loud to no one in particular.
"Oh Natsu... He was all she had to keep her from crumbling..." Kinana said as she walked up to the cage. "He did all of this for her... To prove to her that he honestly cared..." Kinana added.
"But..." Natsu sighed, "I love her..." Natsu said softly.
"It's hard to accept but you need to... It's what makes her happy... And you want her to be happy don't you?" Gray asked as he came up next to Kinana.
Natsu looked over to the door to the kitchen. "Of course I want her to happy... But I wanted her happy with me! Not him!" Natsu growled.
Gray sighed, "You're never going to get out of there if you keep thinking like that... Lucy isn't the same woman you left 2 years ago... She's changed Natsu..." Gray said putting his hands in his pockets. Gray knew how Lucy felt this whole time. He had hated the lightning dragon slayer at one time too but Laxus had proven himself several times over to him and Erza that he truly loved and cared about their team mate and friend. "I didn't like the 2 of them together either in the beginning..." Gray snorted. "Hell, I even tried to tear them apart... I followed Laxus in the beginning trying to catch him cheating or something on her... The women would come up to him and he would turn them away, every single one of them... I followed him for months and not once did he do anything that would hurt her... So, right now Natsu I support them and it's time you did too... I wouldn't defend Laxus in any way useless he truly cared and loved her..." Gray finished and walked off not waiting around for Natsu to respond.
"Gray's right Natsu... He brought the guild back together just for her to make her happy because when we found her that one day she was nearly dead... He never wanted to see her like that again he did everything in his power to make her happy..." Bickslow said as he came up to the cage.
"What do you mean?" Natsu asked in a small voice.
"Do you know how much she sacrificed during Tartaros?" Bickslow asked. Bickslow shook his head when Natsu tilted his head to the side in confusion. "Yeah didn't think so... The only ones who knew at the time were Laxus and us, the Thunder Legion..." Bickslow said as he knelled down. "She did a lot to save all of us during that battle and what does she get for it? Her best friend leaving her behind..." Bickslow sneered, "You left her broken, hell, I wanted to hunt you down and beat you senseless for how you just up and left her... And that's saying a lot..." Bickslow said with a sigh.
"It wasn't like that... I told her I would return... I wasn't planning on being gone this long..." Natsu tried to reason.
"Whether you did or not isn't the point... Accept what is Natsu... And get over it..." Bickslow said standing up. "You can't change it now..." Bickslow added before walking away.
Natsu growled low, "Oh yes I can..." Natsu muttered under his breath as he worked up a plan in his head to get her alone to bite her himself. To break that bond.
"Don't even think about it Salamander..." Gajeel growled coming up behind the cage. "I know exactly what you're thinking of doing and that could hurt them both or is that what you want? To hurt them just to get what you want? Just to get back at them for what they did? Is that what you're after revenge?" Gajeel asked crossing his arms over his chest.
"Of course not! But I want what is mine!" Natsu growled.
"She's not yours anymore so leave it alone! She's finally happy don't you dare try and ruin that!" Levy snapped. "Before 6 months ago she looked so sick and so depressed... You could tell that her smile was fake to try and make it that we wouldn't worry about her... That all changed when they mated... She was finally back to her normal self... She didn't have the pain of you leaving her to hold her down anymore..." Levy practically shouted. Her hormones were on overload.
"Shrimp go sit down... You shouldn't be on your feet so much..." Gajeel groaned.
"Oh shut it! I'm pregnant not made of glass!" Levy snapped with a huff.
"Go check on bunny..." Gajeel said rubbing his temples. "Specially before the power gets knocked out again..." Gajeel chuckled remembering the last time.
Levy let out an 'eep' as she headed towards the kitchen.
"Levy's going to have an egg?" Natsu said with a tilt of his head.
"No!" Gajeel growled. "She's having a baby... God why am I trying to explain this to you..." Gajeel groaned. "Just know that you try and hurt Bunny she won't hesitate to remove that guild mark of yours... And I'll promise you, she'll have the entire guild on her side..." And with that Gajeel walked away to go help his mate.
Natsu wanted to pound on the runes till they broke but he tried that earlier and it didn't even crack. So he decided that maybe calming down for now would have to work until he could get Lucy alone to talk to her.
In The Kitchen After Lucy And Laxus Left The Main Hall – Normal POV
"I can't believe him!" Lucy growled.
"Calm down Love... We knew that he wouldn't take this news well... You need to calm down and relax..." Laxus said coming up to her and wrapping his arms around her. "Give it time to sink in... I know you didn't want to do that to him but he left you no choice... I know you still care about him..." Laxus said rubbing soothing circles with his thumb against her hip.
"I know but... He's not going to let this go... Specially when he finds out the other thing..." Lucy sighed knowing she couldn't hide it from him for long.
"I know but he'll just need to accept it because there's nothing he can do to change it... Not that I would allow him to anyway..." Laxus said as he buried his nose in her hair.
"I know... It's just..." Lucy started to say but was cut when Laxus silenced her with a kiss. Laxus smirked against her mouth when she arched into him. His mouth left her lips much to her disappointment but it was soon forgotten when Laxus started to slide the tip of his tongue from her ear to the base of her neck where he nipped at the healed bite mark causing a moan to slip through Lucy's lips.
"Laxus we're at the guild..." Lucy breathed out. Not that she really wanted to stop but after last time they swore never again in the guild. Specially with the risk of knocking out the power grid again.
Laxus chuckled against her neck, "Oh Love it'll be quick..." Laxus purred.
But before Lucy could respond the kitchen door opened, "Oh no you don't... Not here! Not after last time..." Levy snapped as she walked through the door.
Laxus groaned. "Spoil sport... She's right... Not that I want to listen but you did promise Kinana that you would help her behind the bar today until Mira returned..." Laxus reminded Lucy making her groan.
"I hate you sometimes..." Lucy whined. She was all worked up now and wasn't allowed to continued.
"Oh get over it... We would like the power to stay on thank you!" Levy growled.
Lucy giggled, "Lev you're starting to sound like Gaj..." Lucy said teasingly.
"I heard that Bunny!" Gajeel yelled from the doorway.
"Stupid dragon slayers..." Lucy grumbled as she walked back out behind the bar. She noticed that the cage was gone and Natsu was over talking with Gray and Erza. "Good he finally calmed down..." Lucy muttered.
"Yeah not exactly by choice though..." Gajeel said taking a seat at the bar with Levy putting her in his lap.
"I can imagine... Today is going to be a long day... I can feel it already..." Lucy sighed as she got to work.
"Kinana just try not to work her too hard..." Laxus said heading for the stairs. "When Mira comes back, come up to the office Love... We have paperwork to finish..." Laxus said climbing the stairs. Laxus chuckled at the groan that he heard come from Lucy.
Kinana giggled, "Well since you can't do missions its paperwork or working behind here with me and Mira..." Kinana said earning an eye roll from the celestial mage.
"Yeah, yeah... When will everyone realize I'm not made of glass I'm not going to break that easily..." Lucy said with a huff.
"See That's what I've been saying!" Levy exclaimed glaring at Gajeel who hid his face in his hand while his elbow rested on the bar counter.
Across the room Natsu's ears twitched when he heard that Lucy can't do missions. "Why can't Luce go on missions?" Natsu asked out loud.
"Right you don't know..." Gray said with a sigh. Natsu looked at him giving him a look that said 'What's Going On?'. "It's not my place to tell you Natsu... That would be Lucy's job to tell you..." Gray said.
"Why are you calling her Lucy? We've always called her Luce?" Natsu asked without thinking. Everyone on their team called her Luce. Well except Happy, he always called her Lushi.
Gray and Erza shared a look before turning back to the fire dragon slayer. "She asked us not to call her that anymore... It hurt too much to hear herself be called that..." Erza said looking down at the table.
"Wait... What? How could a name hurt someone?" Natsu asked clearly not understanding.
"Seriously! You really do have ashes for brains!" Gray snapped slamming his hands down on the table as he stood up. Natsu looked at him wide eyed. "Because of you! Because that's what YOU always called her! Anything that would remind her of you she made it forbidden..." Gray snapped as the temperature began to lower.
"Gray... Get a handle on your magic..." Erza said as she could see her own breath in front of her face.
"Sorry Erza but this is all his fault! Lucy changed because of him and he doesn't even care! Team Natsu is no more because of him!" Gray snapped as his magic increased.
Lucy was plating some food when the sudden sight of her breath alerted her to the confrontation happening across the hall. She knew her magic was supposed to be off limits unless in emergencies. Although she's already used it today a few times although one could argue she was using her spirits powers not her own. Her hand flew to her key's knowing exactly which key she needed. She knew she only had to say his name and he'd come on his own power but there was no time to wait for him to answer her to see if he would mind.
"Open! Gate Of The Lion! Loke!" Lucy called slicing the key through the air.
Loke appeared next to Gray. "Gray..." Loke said with a sigh. "Enough..." Loke added as he grabbed Gray's shoulder.
Gray sighed, "Sorry Loke..." Gray said as he reined in his magic.
"It's not me you need to apologize to... You know Lucy's condition she's not supposed to use her magic too much... And she's used it enough today..." Loke said with a sigh. "Figures Natsu, you come back and you're already causing problems for my master..." Loke growled as he rubbed his temples.
Natsu looked at Loke confused, "What do you mean Luce's condition?" Natsu asked. He didn't understand anything that was going on.
Loke sighed as he pushed up his glasses with his finger, "Natsu... It's not our place to say... It's Lucy's... And please stop causing her so much trouble... Too much stress isn't good for her right now..." Loke said and with that he started walking over to the bar leaving the confused dragon slayer.
Natsu looked back at Erza and Gray, he knew he was missing something but he couldn't understand what he was missing. "What the hell is going on? Loke always calls Luce Princess... She's never allowed any of the spirits to call her master... And all of you are acting weird..." Natsu asked. Natsu looked back at Loke's retreating back.
"Princess..." Loke said in stern tone. "We've talked about this... Using the Star Dresses are fine since you are borrowing our magic and not really using your own... But calling us out willy nilly isn't a good idea..." Loke continued as he took a seat at the bar.
"Star Dresses? Not allowed to call the spirits out? Condition? What the hell is going on?" Natsu growled he was ready to pull his own hair out.
"Natsu... Loke still calls her Princess... Just to her face he uses her name to anyone else... And a Star Dress is the outfit you saw her in when she arrived... Every one of the gold keys she has, she can use the spirits powers as her own... And like we said before it's not our place to tell you of her condition... It's only Lucy and Laxus' place..." Erza said going back to her cake.
Back at the bar Lucy was scratching the back of her head. And Natsu noticed Laxus appeared with a disapproving look on his face.
"I know Loke! But Gray normally only listens to you... He would have ignored anything I would say and the temperature was dropping fast..." Lucy pouted.
Loke sighed, "I know but you need to be careful using your magic..." Loke scolded.
"He's right Love... As much as I hate to agree with the over sized house cat he is right you need to be careful... That's also the reason why we don't lightning travel anymore..." Laxus said as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
Loke growled, "Watch it you over grown bug zapper..." Loke snapped.
Lucy sighed, "Both of you stop... This is why you 2 normally aren't allowed in the same room with each other..." Lucy said shaking her head.
Laxus chuckled, "Sorry Love... We both just care about you too much to see anything happen to you now..." Laxus said as he cupped his hand on her cheek. Lucy leaned into his touch.
Natsu had to fight to keep his emotions and magic in check, he didn't like how Laxus touched Lucy or how he looked at her. In his mind Lucy was still his not Laxus'. Natsu was slowly loosing grip on his magic as small flames would flicker and dance across his body.
"If you keep glaring at them you're going to burn a hole in them..." Natsu heard Erza say.
"No... Just Laxus..." Natsu growled lowly.
Erza sighed, "You really need to let it go Natsu... Lucy is happy and in my opinion that's all that matters..." Erza said as she watched Natsu glare at the small group. She was making sure he didn't let his control on his magic slip.
"What is this condition that everyone keeps saying Luce has? And don't give me that shit of it's not your place to tell me... Laxus isn't going to let me near Luce at this rate so I can't ask her..." Natsu practically whined. He sounded defeated to Erza.
Erza sighed, "Come on Natsu if you want to find out so bad let's just go up and ask..." Erza said getting up while grabbing Natsu's scarf to drag him to the bar.
"Erza! Let me go!" Natsu shouted as he thrashed his arms and legs about. But Erza wouldn't let him go.
Lucy saw Erza dragging Natsu towards her. "Now what did he do?!" Lucy growled.
Laxus chuckled, he knew what was going on because he heard the whole thing from where he sat. He wasn't going to be the one to break the news to Natsu he was leaving that up to Lucy. She made him tell the guild originally when they first found out so he was going to make her tell him.
"He didn't do anything... Unless you count complaining and pouting as something..." Erza said with a small laugh. Lucy raised an eyebrow saying 'Continue'. "He over heard someone say something about your condition..." Erza said giving Lucy a look that said 'You better tell him now or I will'.
Lucy sighed, "Fine... Set him down there..." Lucy said pointing to the bar stool. Erza nodded and set Natsu down. Natsu just glared at Erza.
Laxus chuckled as he leaned over the bar and gave Lucy a kiss on the cheek. "I'll be upstairs in my office..." Laxus said before he walked up the stairs and disappeared down the hallway.
Lucy giggled as she shook her head. "You should go back Loke... And thank you for coming out..." Lucy said as Loke rolled his eyes.
"Of course princess... Next time though just ask me to come out... Not until..." Loke started to say until the glare from Lucy made him snap his mouth shut. "Right... And that is my cue to leave..." Loke said quickly and disappeared with a flash of light.
Lucy walked over to where Natsu was sitting and looked at him. "What do you want to know Natsu?" Lucy asked.
"Why can't you go on missions anymore? What is this condition everyone is talking about? Why can't you use your magic? What were those outfits and how did you change them that fast?" Natsu kept firing questions off not giving Lucy any room to actually answer them. "Why can't any one call you Luce? What happened to the guild?" Natsu continued.
"NATSU!" Lucy shouted effectively gaining his attention. "Sheesh... Let me get a chance to speak will you?" Lucy asked sarcastically. Natsu pouted but nodded. Before Lucy could say another word the door burst opened leaving one hanging only the bottom hinge holding it in place. "Not again..." Lucy groaned looking at the doors. "Can my doors get a break please?" Lucy muttered to herself mainly.
"NATSU!" A shocked female voice yelled from the door. The voice sounded familiar to him but he couldn't quite place it.
"Welcome back guys!" Lucy yelled to them. "Mira! Hurry up and get up here! I have to get back to do paperwork so Laxus doesn't fry it like last time!" Lucy yelled with a giggle.
"Coming Lucy!" Mira chirped as she walked through the guild hall followed by Elfman and Lisanna.
"Natsu! Oh My Gosh! You're back!" Lisanna squealed as she bounded up to him and hugged him close. She missed Natsu.
"Lis... Is that you?" Natsu asked in disbelief. Lisanna nodded with a bright smile as she sat down next to him.
"Lucy you really shouldn't be on your feet so much! I don't want my niece or nephew to get too stressed because their mommy thinks she can still do everything she used to!" Mira scolded.
Lucy sweat dropped, 'Typical Mira... Well the cat's out of the bag now...' Lucy groaned internally. Lucy giggled, "I'm fine Mira really! Plus I promised to help Kinana till you got back! Don't worry so much..." Lucy said trying to brush off her worry.
"Luce what does she mean niece or nephew..." Natsu asked hoping his ears were playing tricks on him.
"Oh my! You didn't tell him yet did you?" Mira gasped.
Lucy shook her head, "No I was about to though when you 3 got back... Speaking of how did the mission go?" Lucy asked trying to change the subject.
"Oh you know the normal... Elf has a new form now that he has to master though..." Mira said shooing the blonde from behind the bar. "Now you need to rest, I'll take over things here!" Mira said as she giggled at Lucy's pout. "Elf! Can you take Lucy back upstairs?" Mira asked her brother.
"Now now Mira! I can walk up the stairs for heavens SAKE!" Lucy started but shrieked when Elfman came up behind her and picked her up sitting her on his shoulder. "Elfman! Put me down!" Lucy whined as Elfman shook his head as he headed for the stairs.
"Mira... What did you mean?" Natsu growled dangerously low.
Mira looked slightly startled but brushed it off. "Oh right she didn't get to tell you... Maybe I should have waited to send her upstairs... Oh well! Anyway Lucy's almost 2 months pregnant!" Mira chirped.
Lisanna giggled, "Yeah isn't it great! Levy is 8 months so she's about to pop! I can't wait till Lucy and Laxus find out what they're having! Do you think it's a boy or girl?" Lisanna mused not noticing the dark aura coming from Natsu.
"Well, when it comes to Lucy's family they've only had daughters but with Laxus' they've only ever had sons... So it'll be interesting to say the least..." Mira mused with a giggle.
"Maybe they'll have twins! Oh I can't wait!" Lisanna squealed. "Isn't it great Natsu?" Lisanna asked as she hugged his arm. "Natsu?" Lisanna asked as she looked up at him and finally noticed the anger clear on his face. "Natsu what's wrong?" Lisanna asked stepping away slightly since Natsu's skin was starting to heat up.
"He's not happy about Lucy being with Laxus..." Gray said coming up behind her.
"She was supposed to be mine!" Natsu growled.
"Well she's not and you need to get over it and move on! It happened, it's over, it's done... You can't change it now!" Gray snapped.
"Natsu I thought you would be happy for Lucy now that she is happy and alive..." Lisanna said glaring at Natsu.
"What does that mean?" Natsu growled.
"He doesn't know Lis... He left before she could tell him... Hell it took her a year to tell us..." Gray said crossing his arms over his chest.
"What don't I know?! Someone just fucking tell me what's going on?!" Natsu shouted.
"Natsu... Lucy came close to death when we found her..." Evergreen said coming up behind the group. "She was severally magically and physically drained... She was barely breathing and she was freezing... And you know something? It was all your fault! You leaving did that to her! You selfish bastard!" Evergreen said through grit teeth.
"What? What do you mean my fault?" Natsu asked clenching his fists at his sides.
"Think about it Natsu!" Bickslow said coming up next to Evergreen. "You were with her practically everyday for years! And then you up and leave her... That bond was so strong but when you left it started to break... And when a bond that strong breaks it slowly breaks the person it's attached to..." Bickslow explained. "Porlyusica explained it to us after she came to Laxus' house to check up on her... Lucy was dying and the only way to keep her alive was to rebuild that bond... But you left so Laxus did the only thing that was left as an option, build one of his own with her..." Bickslow said hating the memory of that day.
Natsu's face paled, he had no idea that was even possible, Igneel never explained that stuff to him. He was the reason Lucy was like that? He just couldn't wrap his head around it.
"He did everything for her... Including rebuilding and reforming the guild..." Evergreen said looking at the floor. "You don't have the right to be angry with her choice... I'll tell you the truth... Laxus didn't want to mark her not until you came back and she made the choice then... But she couldn't take the pain of your bond with it slowly breaking... She begged him Natsu actually begged him for months to do it... Once he did and the bond with you completely shattered she was no longer in pain from it... So as I said you don't have the right to be angry, you have no rights what so ever to her!" Evergreen snapped.
Natsu was horrified. It was his fault that this all happened? He wanted to take Lucy with him but he knew he couldn't she'd just get in the way and possibly get hurt. But it seemed fate was cruel and she ended up hurting after all.
"When Porlyusica told us about it she could barely walk... She was broken specially after what she sacrificed for us..." Freed said with a sullen look on his face.
"What do you mean? What sacrifice?" Natsu asked.
Everyone around the guild look down to the floor. "Aquarius' key..." Levy said from Gajeel's lap at the bar breaking the tense silence. Natsu tilted his head to the side in confusion. "She broke it! To summon the spirit king to save all of us from Mard Geer's Alegria curse that was set on us... No one knew... Not until about 8 months ago..." Levy continued.
"What? There's no way that's true! Luce would never break a key..." Natsu said thinking he knew Lucy better then that to believe something like that.
"But she did Natsu..." Laxus' voice sounded from the top of the stairs. "You can ask her about it if you wish... But I'll warn you she hates talking about it..." Laxus said as he descended the stairs. "Better yet why not ask Loke?" Laxus said as he secretly held said spirits key in his hand under his coat.
With the call of his name Loke appeared again next to Laxus. Loke look up at him with a raised eyebrow. "Well this is new... You calling me out..." Loke said in a unsure tone.
Laxus chuckled, "Don't get used to it... Flame brain over there doesn't believe any of us when we said about Aquarius' key..." Laxus said in a hardened tone.
Loke chuckled sadly, "Oh it's true alright... Aquarius begged her to break the key to save all of you... Including you Natsu from becoming part of that flying cubes flesh... Lucy was heartbroken for months afterwards... So don't you dare say that any of them are lying about that..." Loke said growling the last part.
Natsu gulped. He had no idea that Lucy did that, he didn't think it was even possible to break a key like that. He was starting to see why everyone was mad at him for leaving. But he still didn't know that anything like that was possible. He wouldn't have left if he knew.
Natsu hung his head, "I'm sorry... I had no idea... But it still doesn't change that Luce was supposed to be mine..." Natsu said sadly.
"I was hoping to wait till you returned for her to make a choice between us but... She didn't give me much choice... I couldn't let anything happen to her... Not again... I never wanted to see her like that again..." Laxus said through grit teeth. Laxus sighed, "Luckily she's asleep otherwise I would feel like I'm under attack by an emotional storm again..." Laxus said sitting down on a bar stool letting out a heavy sigh.
"She's asleep? Oh no I was afraid of her tiring herself out while she was working back here!" Mira scolded. "I told her it wasn't a good idea to be up on her feet working so much!" Mira put down the glass she was cleaning while glaring at Laxus.
"It wasn't working behind the bar that tired her out..." Loke said pushing his glasses up his nose with his finger. Mira tilted her head in confusion. "Flame brain here pissed her off... And then pissed Gray off who then almost froze the entire guild because he lost control of his magic which then resulted in my princess summoning me instead of just calling for me so she didn't use up her magic... But you know her..." Loke continued as he played around with the cuffs of his jacket.
Mira sighed, "Of course... As long as she didn't do anything too crazy..." Mira said crossing her arms.
"She did kind of lose her temper earlier and punched Natsu across the guild..." Laxus said offhandedly. "Oh... And who is going to fix the doors? Her annoyance sky rocketed when you 3 returned..." Laxus asked looking pointedly at Mira.
"Oh! I wasn't even thinking of the doors... I'll see if Laki can fix them..." Mira said looking over the guild.
"She's not here right now... She left on a mission yesterday... Won't be back for a few more weeks..." Laxus answered.
"Oh... Yeah Lucy isn't going to want to wait is she..." Mira asked and knew she was correct when Laxus shook his head. "So then who can we get?" Mira wondered out loud.
"Well... You're not the only ones who broke the doors... They were sort of already broken from when Natsu here showed up..." Laxus said throwing a glare towards the fire dragon slayer who was looking down at the floor.
"Oh! Then it should be his responsibility to fix them don't you think?" Mira asked still deep in thought.
"Yeah it should but do we really trust him to fix them? Every other time we've rebuilt he'd end up burning the supplies to where we'd have to order more..." Erza said butting into the conversation.
Laxus sighed, "You're right... Loke..." Said spirit looked at him and hummed. "What damage and drain would it cause if Blondie called out Taurus... He was pretty helpful last time... And honestly he's our only option besides Laki who is gone for the next few weeks..." Laxus asked.
Loke thought about it, "Depends solely on how long she has him out for... She can summon any of us really but shouldn't have us out for more then 10 minutes at a time... And she should only summon one of us at a time... Holding 2 gates open would put a huge magical strain on her body... She'd most likely be bed bound for a week if she tried that one..." Loke explained. "But... Me, Virgo and Capricorn can all come out on our own magic so one of us could do it..." Loke added after a moments thought.
"For some reason I don't see you or Capricorn doing any hard manual labor of any kind... And Virgo was good for doing the foundation and digging out the basement and archive room's downstairs... Would she be able to fix a door?" Laxus asked in mock thought. He had to bite back a chuckle at Loke's annoyed face.
"Virgo can... And so could me and Capricorn... After all I'm more then just good looks..." Loke said a bit smug. Laxus rolled his eyes, that spirit will never change. He's delt with him and the rest of Lucy's spirits for the past 2 years. He found them entertaining most of the time. Loke was his favorite to pick on although Lucy hardly let them in the same room together because of how they were.
Loke in the beginning didn't trust Laxus, well he wouldn't even say he trusts him exactly now but Laxus hasn't done anything to warrant hate from any of them so he's held his tongue.
"I rather have them fixed before she wakes up... After all it would make her happy..." Laxus said with a chuckle.
Natsu raised an eyebrow at the look on Laxus' face. He didn't look like the normal smug, cocky and arrogant Laxus he knew before. He looked softer, happier, and kinder than before. Natsu found that he didn't like that look because he knew why he looked like that and he wasn't happy about it.
"I'll ask Virgo... She's fixed Lucy's apartment many times after her old team would wreck it when they visited... Walls, doors, even the plumbing a few times due to them over heating and the pipes bursting flooding her apartment..." Loke explained actually forgetting Natsu was sitting there but realized he was there when he heard a growl that wasn't Laxus.
"Hey all of that was accidents!" Natsu snapped. He didn't like how Loke was making the assumption that they would wreck her apartment on purpose.
"Accidents that could have been avoided if you had any respect for my princess in the first place... You, Gray, Erza and even Happy all have destroyed her place and did any of you stay around to fix it? Nope, you all ran off as soon as she got mad and left her to clean up the mess you made herself..." Loke said with a glare. "You've taken advantage of her the entire time you've known her..." Loke added.
Natsu had enough he jumped from his seat almost knocking Lisanna on the floor. Natsu's fist lit on fire getting ready to throw some punches when runes flashed under him trapping him in a cage again canceling out his magic.
"Let me the fuck out of here!" Natsu shouted as he started banging on the runes again.
"Natsu we've explained how the runes work already multiple times... I'm not explaining them again..." Laxus said a bored tone.
Lisanna looked hurt as she watched Natsu banged against the runes trying to get out of them. Lisanna wanted to cry because she thought she finally could have a chance with Natsu herself. She's loved Natsu for some time and couldn't understand why Natsu wouldn't want her.
"Natsu..." Lisanna whimpered.
Hearing his name Natsu stopped and looked over at Lisanna and seen the hurt in her eyes. Natsu felt a sting in his chest at the look on her face. Natsu stopped banging on the runes as he let his arms fall to his sides.
"Lis..." Natsu's tone sounded defeated. Natsu sighed as the runes came down around him allowing him to move forward towards Lisanna. "I'm sorry... I know I should be happy that Luce is alive and happy but... I can't help how I feel..." Natsu said. Natsu looked over and noticed Laxus and Loke were gone. "Come on let's sit down..." Natsu said holding his hand out to her.
Lisanna looked at his hand and nodded before taking it. "You're not the only one who lost someone you love to someone else..." Lisanna said looking at her sister.
"What do you mean?" Natsu ask as they both sat down at the bar. Natsu followed the path of Lisanna's eyes and saw they landed on Mira.
"It's not my place to tell you..." Lisanna said sending her sister a sad smile.
Before Natsu could ask Mira came over. "Oh it's fine Lis... I've gotten over it a while ago... Besides I'm very happy with Freed." Mira said with a giggle.
Natsu scratched his head in confusion. "I don't get what you're saying..." Natsu said.
Mira smiled, "I'm saying that I was in love with Laxus... Well I still do love him just not in the same way I did before... I was upset that he chose to be with Lucy at first too but I let it go after I saw how happy she was with him around... Yes we all could see she was hurting from you being gone but with him close to her she felt better..." Mira explained with a sad smile. "I know they're both happy and I could never come between them like that..." Mira added before she let out a giggle.
"But how can you be okay with it? Lucy was supposed to be mine... Laxus was supposed to be yours... How can anyone be okay with this?" Natsu asked still not understanding.
Mira giggled, "I talked to Lucy about how I felt a while ago... This was before they got serious..." Mira said remembering back to that day.
~~Flashback A Year & 4 Months Ago – Mira's POV~~
I was behind the bar watching over the guild when I saw Lucy sitting at the bar looking not so Lucy-like. It bothered me a little. I was going to walk over and see if I could find out what was wrong since she's seemed down and was paler then normal but Laxus came up behind her and startled her. She jumped and turned around while Laxus laughed. I never once heard Laxus laugh like that before and I was surprised that he would act like this with Lucy. It hurt a lot to see them together. But Lucy looked better with him around.
I watched as she smacked his chest with the back of her hand while scolding him for scaring her. Which he just laughed it off and kissed her on the cheek. Which I was surprised to see, specially with the blush that coated Lucy's face. I was bewildered.
"Hey Mira..." I heard Laxus say as he was coming closer to me. I felt my heart rate pick up. "Can you make sure Lucy eats Lunch... She hasn't been eating lately and don't let her make any excuse to get out of it..." Laxus asked as he continued onto the stairs.
"Laxus wait..." I called over causing him to stop and turn towards me. "Um... What are you doing later?" I asked.
Laxus shook his head and I couldn't tell what the face he was making meant. "No Mira... I'm sorry but my heart belongs to someone else..." Laxus said before heading up the stairs before I could ask anything else.
I had enough of it. I turned towards Lucy and saw her looking like she did before Laxus showed up. I wanted to yell and scream because I didn't understand why she was acting one way with Laxus around and another way when he's not around. I was walking over to her when Erza and Gray walked up to her.
"Hey there Luce..." Gray said and I saw Lucy cringe as she closed her eyes for a second before turning around with the fakest smile I've ever seen on her face which made me question what is going on.
"Oh! H-H-Hey guys what's up?" Lucy said but you could hear the pain in her voice and I could tell that Erza and Gray weren't buying it.
"We're heading on a job want to come along?" Erza asked. "Team Natsu has missed you..." The pain that flash across Lucy's face at the mention Natsu's name told me more then I thought.
Lucy was in love with Natsu just like Lis. Was that why Laxus was the way he was? He was helping her? Trying to cheer her up?
"Oh... I'm sorry but I can't I have a lot of things I have to get done around here... You know how much paperwork there is and supplies are coming in today that I need to make sure everything is correct and what not... Maybe next time?" Lucy said as she continued to force that smile to stay on her face.
"You've been saying that... What the hell is wrong? You've been acting different for months!" Gray yelled. Apparently he had enough with seeing Lucy like this too. This cause the entire guild to go quiet. I looked around and saw everyone's eyes were on them waiting to hear and see what's going to happen next.
"Gray..." Lucy whimpered. She cleared her throat. "Nothing Gray I'm sorry but I'm busy these days..." Lucy tried to walk around them looking desperately at the stairs. But Gray grabbed her arm and pulled her back to him.
"Not till you tell us what the fuck is wrong!" Gray said through grit teeth. If I was being honest I've never seen Gray this upset or mad at Lucy, okay I've never seen anyone ever mad at her, specially not here in the guild.
Lucy was trembling trying to get away from Gray and I was going to go tell him to let her go but before I could Laxus' voice echoed through the quiet guild.
"ENOUGH! GRAY LET HER GO!" Laxus yelled from the top of the stairs. He looked pissed.
I saw Lucy run from Gray and up the stairs to Laxus where Laxus wrapped his arm around her tucking her into his side. I felt my heart breaking for multiple reasons. Which just confused me. I watched as Laxus and Lucy walked off down the hall to where the offices were.
I sighed and looked back over to where Gray and Erza stood. Gray looked pissed and Erza looked sad. I walked over to them to find out what's been going on.
"Hey guys... What's going on?" I asked.
Gray looked at me rage flaring in his eyes but it was Erza who spoke. "We're just concerned about Lucy that is all... Something's wrong with her but she won't tell us... Granted Gray shouldn't have acted like he did but we were only concerned..." Erza said sadly.
"All she does is stay here in the guild and up in Laxus office! I mean seriously why does he suddenly care about her?" Gray growled.
"That's enough Gray, Erza..." Freed said as he approached. I blinked at him a few times which then I noticed the other 2 Thunder Legion members behind her with equally sad faces on them.
"Do you know what's going on with her?" Gray growled. I was shocked when Freed nodded. "What the hell is wrong with her then? She won't talk to any of us?!" Gray shouted.
Freed sighed and looked to his companions as they nodded to him. "Very well... Please have a seat... But please promise to drop it and leave things be..." Freed said sitting at the bar as the others followed him. Gray and Erza looked to each other and sighed but nodded as they sat down. "Very well..." Freed then began telling us about how he and the others found her and the state she was in and why. Which is when I realized what Laxus meant when he said what he said.
It was a few hours later, the group had went their separate ways a while ago. What Freed and the others had told us had my heart breaking more, it was terrible and I felt sorry for feeling the way I was earlier towards Lucy. I saw Lucy come down the stairs her eyes slightly red. It looked like she was crying. She walked over and sat down giving me what I'm guess was the best smile she could muster.
"H-H-Hey Mira..." Lucy said her voice sounded wrong in my opinion.
"Hey Lucy... How are you feeling?" I asked with a sad smile.
"Just fine..." Lucy said trying to keep that smile on her face. It bothered me seeing it. This wasn't the same Lucy.
"Lucy can I talk to you about something?" I asked.
Lucy tilted her head slightly, "Sure..." Lucy said in an unsure tone.
I smiled and looked over to Kinana. "Hey Kinana can you watch the bar for me I'll be right back..." I said to the purple haired bar maid.
"Sure thing Mira!" Kinana said as she walked over.
"Thanks!" I said as I grabbed Lucy's hand and pulled her with me into the kitchen.
"What do you want to talk about Mira?" Lucy asked. I looked at her and she was fidgeting a little.
I took a deep breath and cleared my throat. "It's about Laxus..." I said in a serious tone.
Lucy sighed and nodded, "Alright..."
Okay so here is this Chapter which will have maybe 2 more chapters before It's completed the same with I Still Burn For You
That story will have maybe 1 or 2 more chapters as well...
