The elites were going to finish Six off and take his armor for sport, but just when the maroon colored zealot elite was getting ready to go in for another blow on Six with his energy dagger, the covenant issued an evacuation off Planet Reach, all units were to clear the area, it was going to be glassed.

The elites stood around conversing for a bit when the Red Zealot snarled an insult at Six one last time in Sangheili (Elite) language before leaving.

The elites evacuated thinking Six was dead after he had gotten stabbed by an energy dagger the first time, but he wasn't dead after all. He was bleeding out with plasma wounds and was unconscious. Six eventually woke up, lifted himself off the ground, saw his broken helmet on the dusty terrain, and the dead marines around him.

While stumbling and slowly struggling to keep consciousness, he found a cave where more marines lied dead. He searched among the dead bodies for anything he could find, Six came across a Heath kit. He did what he could with the health kit to patch up his wounds.

"Dagger didn't go... that deep. Still hurts like hell," he said coughing up some blood. He sat in the cave thinking back about his life, before noble team and with them. He thought about his dead parents, his first kill, his brief childhood, and his first time suiting up in Spartan armor.

For a split second he convinced himself again to go back out there and die for Reach as they had, but then thought about noble team and realized, 'I gotta finish the fight. If not for reach... then for them. For Kat, Jorge, Carter, Emile, and Jun. But not here. We've done all we can for this planet, and I've bought humanity enough time to win against the covenant,' He thought aloud to himself 'But how can I survive this, maybe a rescue team, hell... maybe I can take a covenant ride out of here and find the pillar of autumn,' he said coughing up some more blood from the stab wound in his chest.

He quickly dismissed that thought knowing that he would most likely be shot down IF he managed to snag a Covenant ship which was very unlikely due to the circumstances. Six knew the chances of survival were slim to none and that he was probably going crazy from the amount of blood he had lost, but there had to be a way... there's always a way, right?

"I'll find a way out of this," Noble Six said to encourage himself.

That's when it hit him, while reading the intel briefly before arriving, he had read reports of an underground UNSC military base he just had to remember the coordinates. Six had to think fast he wouldn't have much time before the covenant glassed reach. He quickly calculated the coordinates and set out to find the secret base.

"Time to go. After all, Spartans don't die, they're just missing in action," he said in the third person.

As Six is wandering out in the chaos the war had caused, dust hits his face and with every spec of dust hitting his face, he felt waves of emotions; anger, sadness, and regret. He couldn't help but say, "I could've done more! Kat would still be alive if I would've just been more cautious! Emile would still-" Before doubting himself, even more, he stops in his tracks. He had stumbled upon an untouched weapon cache filled with DMR's and Magnums. He quickly picked what he could and felt relieved and not as vulnerable as he did before without a weapon. "Almost there" he mumbled to himself, dismissing the doubts he had earlier.

As Noble Six approaches the base he sees a dim light not too far in the distance, it was the bunker that he would have to take to get into the underground base.

"I did it! I found it!" he shouted in excitement to himself. Still stumbling like before, he walks towards the door of the bunker, suddenly Six gets a bad feeling, thinking something is wrong... he thinks he hears footsteps

'Oh hell no I have to be hallucinating' he thinks to himself.

Feeling exposed, he points his DMR rifle around examining the area, he sees nothing. Still feeling unsure, his Spartan instincts kick in, he starts to retreat to the bunker stumbling over himself, despite the injuries and fatigue, he keeps pushing through. Just then, a lone elite kicks him from the side knocking him down and sending his rifle flying to the side. Six had little time to recover but just enough to see that this was no regular elite, it was a zealot with red and yellow armor signifying that it was a commander.

The red and yellow zealot elite runs up insulting Six fiercely gripping an energy sword in his hands ready to finish him off,

"DEMON!"

Noble Six using all the strength in his augmented body to forcefully kick and push the zealot back a couple of feet. Quickly, Six located the DMR rifle that he lost when the elite kicked him down. He reached for the rifle and while the elite was recovering ready to pursue Six with a final blow, Six starts emptying the DMR clip on the zealot breaking his armor and piercing his skin. The elite falls and lands face down on the dusty terrain.

Filled with rage Six yells, "YOU CAN'T KILL ME, YOU COVIE SCUM!" Reloading the DMR and breathing heavily from the altercation Six lets out a short sigh, checks his bandages, and starts to pursue the bunker again.

He hears a loud noise, as loud as if it had broken the sound barrier, the covenant was glassing reach... completely this time. "Damn you, alien bastards," he said in a defeated yet menacingly tone. Realizing he had run out of time, he hurries to the bunker door but notices face verification was needed to authorize the bunker."I HAVE NO TIME FOR THIS BULLSHIT!" shouts Six in a frustrated and panicky manner breathing heavily.

He shoots his DMR at the authorization device and the door malfunctions and opens. Running to the bunker elevator that would take him to the underground base, he drops Jorge's dog tags, a fellow Spartan who sacrificed himself for Reach just like Six intended to. "Fuck!"

He runs back to grab the dog tags but they fumble in his hands a few times. "You've got to be shitting me" yells Six.

Finally, he grabbed the tags as the sound of the covenant super carrier glassing reach got closer. 6 runs to the elevator and starts repeatedly pushing the buttons that would take him underground. For a few moments, the elevator shakes and rattled from the chaos ensuing above, eventually, it stops. Sighing out of relief, he leans against the elevator wall and slides down until he's sitting. As he gathered his thoughts, he realized that he had done it, he had survived the glassing of Planet Reach, something not many of his fallen comrades could say...
