"Are you telling me Adrien Agreste helped you with the homework? You didn't do it all by yourself?" a redheaded girl asked, looking at Marinette intensely.

"Yes," Marinette responded. "He brought some really good pictures, too!" Alya shook her head.

"If he laid even one finger…"

"Chillax, Al," Marinette said. "I'm not hurt, and he didn't hurt me."

Alya began to walk away, mumbling, "If he ever hurts you, I swear he'll regret ever knowing you."

"Hey, Marinette," Adrien said, walking up behind Marinette. Marinette jumped and then smiled. "Your friend is a little harsh."

"Oh, you don't have to worry about her," Marinette said, and when she was going to tell him why, her phone rang. "Hello?" On the other end of the line was Viperion, or Luka as most people knew him in his alter ego.

"Hey, Ladybug, we got a little problem. Mayura's out and if Chat Blanc shows up, I'm dead," Viperion said.

"I'll be there in no time, Luka," Marinette said. She hung up the phone and looked at Adrien with a smile. "Tell the teacher something really important came up and I will be back in maybe a half an hour or more." Adrien looked at Marinette, dumbstruck as she raced away. What would he tell the teacher? And more importantly, what would Alya say? Heck, she's going to be mad. Think Adrien hurt her and she ran away and he came up with a dumb excuse for Marinette's running away. More questions hung over Adrien's mind. Like who's Luka? Why does Marinette never talk about him? What's going on that Marinette had to sprint away? Was that smile fake when she said she had to go or real? Was something really big going on? No time to wonder though, he had to tell the teacher without Alya knowing.

Although, he knew he'd fail.

Adrien was singing hallelujah when Marinette walked into the room, nearly unharmed. There was just one small thing that seemed only Adrien noticed. Marinette's eye seemed just a little swollen. Of course, being a model, Adrien would notice this. He had to look perfect, not a flaw in his form, and Marinette's tiny flaw was noticed and noted. Was this Luka guy abusing her? Only a tiny bit so no one would affect a thing. Sounds villainous, a little too villainous. Not even Chat Blanc would hurt Marinette. And that was saying something. Chat Blanc was the most villainous villain in Paris. But, yet, Marinette is hurt. Why, why was Marinette, the only kind person in the whole class, getting hurt?

His questions would remain unanswered.

Chat Blanc, using his baton, flew through the sky, looking for a specific balcony. He saw the balcony he was looking for and landed on it. To his luck, Marinette was already standing on her balcony. And she looked astonished. Not scared, not petrified, astonished, like it was an honor to have him in her presence.

"Chat- Chat Blanc?!" Marinette exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"

"A little bird told me you did a report on superheroes, and you did one on me," Chat Blanc said, raising his eyebrows.

"Oh, that's nothing, nothing at all," Marinette laughed. "It's based off of a power of superheroes or supervillains, the teacher didn't specify."

"I'm sure everyone did one on Ladybug," Chat Blanc said.

"Of course everyone did! I want to be different!" Marinette said.

"I'm sure this isn't a good different, I mean, doing a report on me?" Chat Blanc scoffed. "I'm a villain, not a hero."

"I don't think that." What? What does she mean? "All I see in your eyes are loneliness, and a need for someone to talk to."

She hit a cord. Why? Well, because she was right.

And it all began three years ago…
