OK, this is gonna be a short chapter just to send us into The Scorch Trials. Just a small bit of Thomesa sweetness. Enjoy!

***Helicopter***

Thomas was in tears as he looked at the wooden carving in his hand. The carving was a piece of art made by his late friend Chuck. They had made it out of the Maze, but had been followed by Gally who, when trying to shoot Thomas, accidentally shot Chuck as he took the bullet for his friend.

That's why Thomas was in tears. They'd come so far, but his friend didn't make it. And now, he wanted to make sure he didn't lose anyone else.

"You OK?" A voice said.

He turned to see Teresa with a concerned look on her face. Thomas, not knowing how to answer, just laid his head on her shoulder. To which she had started to shush him and glided her hand across his head.

"Shhh, it's gonna be OK, "she said, "We're out now, and we still have each other."

She felt Thomas nod as his head slowly laid on her lap. He stayed there until he eventually fell asleep. But Teresa never took her eyes off of him. He was hers, and she was his. And they needed to look out for each other. In times of happiness, danger, even sadness. So this was a step in the right direction.

She kept watching over him the whole ride, even as it became dark outside the Helicopter. It wasn't until she felt the Helicopter shake that she took her eyes off of him to see that they were landing.

'Guess this is it,' she thought as she tries to wake Thomas up.

Well that's it for this prequel. The next chapter for my Maze Runner 3 is coming and I hope you guys liked this story. More Thomesa content shall come one day. Later!
