CHAPTER TWO
Settling in
A.N: Sorry for the wait but the new chapter is here now, Hooray! I'm gonna be writing more often now since I got tons of free time, expect a new chapter once every two weeks or so, anyway I don't wanna leave you waiting, hope you enjoy!

"Maybe moving to ponyville wasn't gonna be hard after all" Lightning thinks.
The party went on with ponies having fun and playing games, Lightning was always one for parties, he met some new ponies as well and he talked to those who he already knew.
Lightning was sitting on a chair drinking some cider when applejack came in.
"I see ya enjoin' some of the apple family cider" Applejack says.
"Wait, this is your family's cider, this the best apple cider i ever tasted!" Lightning says with amazement.
"Am proud of our apple products, i don't really like ta brag but we grow one of the best apples in equestria!" Applejack says proudly
"Can't argue with that" Lightning says not finding anyway to disagree, after all the cider did taste like a piece of pure goodness.
The party went on, after about 3 hours most of the ponies have already left for their homes, that left Lightning, the mane 6, the cakes and a gray mare with blonde hair and.. crossed eyes?, Lightning decided that he would go interduce himself to the blonde mare.
"Hello, miss...?" Lightning asks.
"Derby, and you are?" Derby asks.
"Lightning bolt" Lightning answers.
"Oh you're the new pony!, welcome to ponyville!" Derby says throwing her hoofs into the air.
Lightning chuckles at the goofy behavior "Thank you miss derby" Lightning says.
They talked for a bit before derby remembered something.
"Oh i just remembered! i gotta go home so i can wake up early for my job!, sorry Mr Lightning i have to go" derby says.
"Alright miss derby, see you later" Lightning says as derby flys out, well right after she bumped into the wall.
Lightning stayed in the bakery to help with the clean up even tho the cakes and the mane 6 insisted on him to go home to rest.
"Seems like that's everything" Lightning says looking at the now clean bakery.
At some point during the clean up twilight, rarity, applejack and fluttershy left so they can get a good night sleep, which means lightning, rainbow. pinkie and the cakes were the ones that did most of the clean up.
"Well i'm gonna go home now" Lightning says.
"Yeah me too" Rainbow says.
"Alrighty then see you later Dashie and Lightning!" pinkie says with her usual smile.
Both Lightning and Rainbow left and were flying to their homes.
"Hey Lightning" Rainbow says.
"Yeah?" Lightning says.
"I noticed you were thinking of something the whole time we were cleaning, what's the matter?" Rainbow asks.
Lightning was a bit nervous now, he didn't want to let anyone know so he had to lie about it.
"Well umm... i was thinking back home in manehatten as well as my friends" Lightning lies rather convincingly.
"Do you miss manehatten?" Rainbow asks believing the lie.
"Phew that was a close one" Lightning thinks.
"Well, kinda... not really tho, do you miss cloudsdale?" Lightning says.
"Sometimes but ponyville is my home now i have my awesome friends so i don't think much of cloudsdale" Rainbow says proud to have amazing friends.
As they talked Lightning's home came into view.
"Well here's my destination" Lightning says noticing his home.
"Oh, well see you later then" Rainbow says extending her hoof for a hoof bump.
"Yeah, see ya later dash" Lightning says accepting the hoof bump.
As they depart ways Lightning replays the situation in his mind.
"I could have swore she said it with disappointment" Lightning thinks "maybe it's just cause i'm tired".
As if in queue Lightning releases a yawn.
"Well of to sleep i guess" Lightning says heading to his bedroom.
Three days later
Lightning wakes up to the sound of rain drops hitting the window. while he did know that he had to get a job he put that on the shelf but today he decided to stop being lazy and get a job.
"I really have to get a job now, i'm getting low on bits" Lightning says.
Lightning gets up to start his day, he goes to the kitchen to make himself some pancakes for breakfast.
While Lightning was eating somepony knocked on his door, Lightning gets up to see who it is, he opens the door.
"Oh, sup dash" Lightning greets.
"Hey bolt" Rainbow says.
On the the course of those three days Lightning and Rainbow have became good friends.
"Come in" Lightning says letting Rainbow in.
Rainbow smells the sweet smell of pancakes and her stomach growls making the choice on it's own.
Lightning chuckles "You hungry?".
Rainbow scratches the back of her neck in embarrassment.
"There is some pancakes left if you want" Lightning offers.
"You sure?" Rainbow asks.
"Yeah go on" Lightning says.
Rainbow flies to the kitchen to get some of those sweet pancakes.
"Good thing i'm done eating other wise i don't think a single pancake would have survived" Lightning thinks smirking to himself.
Lightning went to the kitchen to see an empty plate and Rainbow looking pleased.
"Those pancakes are amazing!" Rainbow says with surprise.
"Well thanks dash" Lightning says "hey dash?".
"Yeah?" Rainbow says.
"I'm running low on bits and i was wondering if you know a place i can get a job at" Lightning says.
Rainbow was a bit surprised "What a coincidence, i came here to ask if you wanted to join the weather team" Rainbow says.
"Perfect, the plan of moving here seems to be easier than i thought" Lightning thinks "Oh then yeah i would like to join".
Rainbow flies of the chair "Alright! follow me" Rainbow says.
"Now?" Lightning says pointing to the window where there once light rain now it's a raging storm.
"Oh.. right, forgot about the storm" Rainbow says that last part in a bit of disappointment.
"Looks like you're stuck here till the storm calms down" Lightning says.
"Yeah" Rainbow says.
"So what do you want to do to pass time" Lightning says.
"Hmm.. you got any more daring do books?" Rainbow asks.
Lightning smirks while getting out a daring do book seemingly out of nowhere.
The storm raged on as both pegasi read the book, hours went by without the storm looking like will calm down any time soon, in fact it got even worse.
"I like storms but right now it's just being bitch" Lightning said.
"Yeah" Rainbow says before realizing something that made her light up, "Guess i may have to stay here for the night!"
"There is a guest room so you can take it" Lightning says.
"Alright" Rainbow says.
Time passed by and night came closer the two pegasi talked and joked together to skip the day.
Lightning looks out the window to see the storm and the night sky "Well looks like night came", Lightning gets up and goes upstairs for the bathroom.
Rainbow's pov
As Lightning went upstairs Rainbow got up and looked through the window.
"Why am i suddenly getting excited whenever i do something with Lightning?" Rainbow asks herself like she's gonna get an answer.
Rainbow had an inner conflict trying to find out what's going on.
"I don't get this happy and excited when i'm with my friends, and i knew them for longer!".
Rainbow groans in annoyance "i'm too tired for this" Rainbow says to herself.
Rainbow starts walking upstairs to get to the guest bedroom to sleep hoping that she would know the answer tomorrow.
Normal pov
Lightning was brushing his teeth when he started thinking on the last few days.
"Why have i been acting strangely all this time, i'm not normally this friendly when it comes to new friends heck i knew my other friends for two years and i'm not this friendly with them" Lightning thinks trying to get an answer, of course he wouldn't he's talking to himself.
Lightning puts his tooth brush back in it's place and goes for the door hoping he could find the answer tomorrow.
When Lightning got out of the bathroom he started going for his room still in deep thought, what he didn't know is that Rainbow was also going to the guest room also in deep thought neither of them noticing eachother.
before either could react they bumped into eachother making their noses touch almost kissing.
both pegasi were surprised from the sudden impact both blushing as they found out what they bumped into or rather who they bumped into.
they stayed like this for 3 seconds too shocked to move, Lightning broke the contact.
"Sorry sorry sorry!" Lightning kept saying, and well he was too embarrassed to keep eye contact.
Rainbow wasn't even showing her face and also kept saying sorry.
"Let's just go to sleep.." Lightning said after 10 seconds of awkward silence trying to forget about the embarrassing situation.
Rainbow kept her head down "Yeah.." Rainbow said.
As Rainbow went to the guest room and Lightning went to his room still blushing from embarrassment.
"This is one of the most embarrassing moments in my life but why did i like it?" the same thought went through both Rainbow's and Lightning's mind as they get into bed and try to sleep.
