This was the second time in 24 hours that he had been inside the room of the girl he liked, and while he knew it was coming the nervousness didn't lessen

Takagi seemed a bit numbed to all this almost unaffected, was it because she was so close to him for all that time? or maybe something else she didn't know? Whatever the reason was, she was happy she was Calm rather than flustered

" what a day… It's the second time you've been in here right?"

" well Yeah…" he grabbed a futon and rolled it , " I'm glad you guys have an extra futon.." " I can sleep on the couch downstairs the only other place I could sleep is on the floor in this room " he stole a glance at his crush who was again in her pink night dress which he remembered from the morning " I don't think I could handle that…." " you have an extra blanket? "

" Yeah I do… " she got off her bed and opened the closet, from bellow she pulled out a few blankets, she showed a blue and a white one " Do you always sleep this early?" she looked at the wall clock " 7 pm"

" No, I've been sleeping early because the job makes me wake up early, I don't sleep this early but I'm just preparing my bed in advance…."

" which one?"

Nishikata chose the white one " I'll take this one "

Takagi suddenly had a strange idea in her head" you know one of these two is my favourite blanket, can you guess which one it is? "

Nishikata stopped," how am I supposed to know? "

" we've known each other for 2 and half years now, just try guessing "

" This won't be that difficult I have a 50-50 chance "

" you had a 50-50 chance with the eraser too, but still… " " if you guess correctly I'll do one thing you ask "

" I accept " " but what should I make her do? Sing me a song while jumping on one foot and wearing your clothes inside out?... Nah…. " nishikata was confident he was gonna win now that he had 2 wins back to back

Takagi smirked" and if you lose, you'll have to sleep in this room "

It took a second for it to click," screw this game I'm not playing "

" why? "

" I have my reasons "

Takagi looked a bit hurt," To think that sleeping in the same room as me repulsed you so much… You're mean… "

Nishikata scrambled," it's not that I don't want to …."

" oh so you do want to sleep here "

" and I'm in another trap… " " don't put words into my mouth"

She got in front of him and held both of the blankets, " which one do you think is the one I like?"

" the white one is simple and plain, while the blue one has a design" he stared at the floor, " I know how she dresses and observing the room she'd choose the blue one since it's more pretty" " I think I have my answer…."

He reached out and when he reached the white one, a thought occurred " wait the white one is heavier and warmer,..." " I'll rethink again…."

" take your time…"

" what would she choose...functionality or beauty…. White one is warmer while blue one is pretty…."

She chuckled as it could be seen, Nishikata's entire thought process was written on his face

After was seemed like a few eternities Nishikata finally made up his mind," you like the blue one. "

" that's your choice "

" yes… "

" well… " she said while smirking

" oh no…." nishikata thought to himself

" we both know what's gonna happen next Nishikata…"

Nishikata thought...there must be a way to stop everything, but everything came upto a blank conclusion… He Considered… a certain option… " I've already taken one a few hours ago… 2 would be… Safe but still too much… "

She looked at her crush who seemed to be in a bind, " so?"

" I lose…."

" you admit defeat?"

" yes…. I lost…"

She chuckled and gave him a blanket, "you know you had actually picked the right one "

" you've gotta be kidding me, that's not fair!!"

" you were the one who admitted defeat I didn't force you"

" Then what was with that smile?!"

" I was just happy you won, but then you admitted defeat"

" damn it…" nishikata sighed in defeat, "how am I even going to handle this, staying in her room for minutes makes me nervous, sleeping here is impossible, I'll probably die from a heart attack"

Takagi hopped on top of her bed and watched as he while blushing intensely setting up the futon on the floor

" you're gonna sleep on the floor?"

" Yeah"

" the floor is cold and hard at night…"

" well I would be sleeping on a lovely couch if it wasn't for a certain someone"

" you can still sleep comfortably you know"

" you're gonna let me go?"

" No.."

" Then what?"

" you just have to share the bed with me" she said while smiling

" No thanks I'll pass" "I'll probably die due to a heart attack…."

" you're blushing… The idea really excited you doesn't it?"

" you know Takagi-san… I have a counter to that, the bed is too small"

" he admitted that it does excite him, I think I'm going in the right direction" " let's find out"

" what's that suppose-"

Takagi pulled on his arm and he was sitting on the bed beside her

" WHAT THE HELL IS SHE THINKING?!" " W-what….?"

" lay down"

" B-But I'm on your-"

" trust me I'm not gonna tease you…"

" Thats not the issue here!!!" " I feel so confused I… She's been acting weird since this morning…. SINCE SHE HEARD ME AND HAMAGUCHI………… Is this her idea of a teasing?... teasing me with doing romantic stuff… "

Takagi sighed," his entire thought process is written on his face,but well I guess I am to blame for teasing him so much, it's almost natural he'd think that… " " Nishikata.. "

" Y-yeah? "

" I promise I will not tease you "

" B-But I can't just… "

" It's fine, No one is watching us "

" That just makes it worse…" his face became increasingly red… he felt his body bending backwards, he tried his bet to stop, but his back was firmly against the bed…

Takagi jumped beside him," looks like its just enough for both of us to fit in… "

Nishikata wanted to say something but his words were stuck in his throat

" that being said, in this position we can't really move can we? " she stretched her hands, nearly pushing him off the bed," a pity…. "

" what the hell was she planning if we did fit together…." " C-can I get down now? "

" No " " even if it's a bit… cramped, it's enough to do what I want "

" W-what's that supposed to mean?"

" you need to do something with me first" she said with a smirk

" what the hell… , SHE DEFINITELY HEARD ME AND HAMAGUCHI….. So she chose to play with me like this?! On one hand she says she doesn't want me to hate her on the other hand she….. Damn it…" nishikata tried to calm down, " What?"

That was all he could muster, she pulled out her phone and ear pods," I actually got a movie from from my cousin, I wanted to watch it with you… "

" a movie? " " I was getting worked up over nothing… wait nothing?" nishikata stared at Takagi's face and started to blush again "Watching a movie on the bed while being so close is something only couples could do!!!"

" I was gonna have you come at my place or maybe even go to yours to watch it "

" B-But why do you want to watch with me? "

" just cause… "

" but do we have to watch like this? I mean on the bed "

" we could always do it on your bed on the floor"

" Is it just me or did that sound a bit… Nevermind if I bring it up I'll be teased…" nishikata stared at a blank wall to calm down

" but the bed is more comfortable so I guess here…." her hand went close to his face and put a earphone in his ear..

" again wrong ear pod… " " don't tell she's gonna do it again "

Takagi smiled," we had this conversation earlier didn't we?" she said as she put the other one in her ear…

" arguing with her will get me no where and I can't think of a way out of this situation…. " he decided he'd stay as far away from her forcing the earbuds to pop out of her ears

He kept pulling away from her, getting closer to the edge of the bed, Takagi noticed what he was doing and she moved too," you're so nice making space for me.."

" well that didn't go as planned the distance between us is still the same, but now pushed to the edge of the bed" he contemplated his options

Takagi sighed, " If you want space just get closer to me"

" Not exactly an option is it…" " I could push her away…" He moved his freehand which and attempted to push her away

His hand brushed against her waist and she froze for a second, " Never thought you'd be so bold.."

" N-NO THATS NOT-" "I need to touch her to push her away… Not possible… I need to think of something else…"

" alright I get it, I get it…." she moved away so that he had more room

" I thought she was lying, is she really not gonna tease me? I mean i don't even know if this movie counts as a tease… "

Takagi pulled the blanket till it was over both of the them, Nishikata reluctantly moved as close as possible for his heart, Takagi started the movie, It was a great movie from the looks of it and it did a well enough job of distracting Nishikata but even after that he still couldn't help but steal glances at her….

Takagi was shocked at her mental capacity, she thought she'd be able to handle doing things like this with nishikata, her poker face didn't let anything shine through but really she was just a nervous mess inside, she noticed whenever he looked at her and pretended to watch the movie…

She had planned to watch it with him sooner or later, but now she couldn't even focus of the movie, soon the movie reached the intermission and nishikata crawled away from her to catch a breath.

Nishikata after getting away, stretched a bit to kill time and after which he noticed something

" What's with all the boxes?"

" those cardboard ones?"

" Yeah I remember, when I was here this morning, they were not here…" " wait what did I just say"

"Oh that's cause we're moving"

It took a second for the words to register in his head, " WHAT?!"

She seemed amused by his reaction " I said I won't tease him when he's on the bed, but he's not now soo….."

" what?! When?! How?! And why didn't you tell me?!" " this is not how I wanted to phrase that God damn it"

" you sound like my boyfriend Nishikata calm down" she said with a smirk

" I don't care what I sound like, answer my questions" " stop it you're sounding too…screw that, does that I won't be able to see her again?."

Takagi was stunned, she paused for half a second and then continued, " we're just moving a few blocks south from here into a new house, you'll still be able to see me nishikata… "

For once he didn't care he was being teased and sighed in relief," that's good and why didn't you tell me earlier ?"

" Thats a secret I'll tell you later "

" but why?"

" I'll tell you later. "

" well I can tell she won't tell me more, but I can continue to argue to stall for more time…" " But why can't you tell me? "

" I wonder how only I'm able to read him so well, he is probably trying to stall for time " " it's a secret I can't tell you "

" Wait a minute, I can use that punishment from earlier to pull the info out of her…" Nishikata thought to himself " Wait a minute I could have avoided this entire punishment of sleeping in her room if I had used my punishment to neutralise hers?!

Takagi's expressions changed as she realized the same thing begining to panic " I need to think of something quick "

Nishikata quickly came to his sense after reflecting on his stupidity, " Takagi-"

" let's play a game" " think of something?! anything?!"

" uh.. What?"

" you hide your hand and make numbers with your hand, If I guess the numbers right you win"

" you'll have to guess 4 in a row" " I can only hide one hand so there are 625 possible combinations so I have a pretty high chance of winning, she has a 0.16 percent chance of winning"

" I accept"

" Wait she accepted?! She won't accept a challenge this one sided except if…. She has a guaranteed way to win" " are you sure? "

" Yeah" she said with a blank expression

" either she believes way too much in her luck or…" he turned around and sure enough he was standing in from of a dresser one with a large mirror " of course, you only play games that you know you'll win.."

" I panicked and made a bad decision…" " can we change the game? "

" five in a row now, you just tried to cheat me "

" please?"

" six in row"

" nishikata…."

" seven" ( that's 1 in 390,625 chance)

" what's wrong? I can move it up more" he said almost taunting her " having the upper hand once in while seems so much fun"

" nishikata please, I can't tell you right now" she pleaded

Nishikata didn't know what to do, seeing her plead was a first and he didn't have the courage to refuse even after this request " damn it"

"I need it to stay a secret… Using a game to squeeze out information he wants… Thats something I do a lot with him…" she remembered sumire's lecture on how her methods were not good and she was seeing little peices of evidence that she otherwise wouldn't have noticed, " well I can't really blame him for what he chooses to do in this situation… "

" I was just doing it to stall for time…" " you know what fine, just remember you owe me one more punishment"

" Thanks" she sighed in relief " now lets get back to the movie"

At that moment the door is opened and a guy came in " hey Rie do you know where my headphones are?"

Nishikata looked at the guy, older than them maybe 5 no, 6 years

" No I haven't seen them"

" MOM RIE SAYS SHE HASN'T SEEN THEM" he looked at nishikata " MOM WHY IS THERE A SHRIMP WITH BLACK HAIR IN THE HOUSE? "

" what? "

" DON'T CALL HIM THAT" she shouted back at her brother

" man don't take it personally i was just joking"

" I know that, but of all things why… Shrimp?" nishikata asked

"I don't really know why I just came up with it on the spot, anyway, Rie where did you keep my headphones?! "

" I Don't know where your headphones are!!" Takagi clamoured back

" If not you then who?"

" I don't know, maybe it got packed into one of the boxes…. "

" oh… MOM? DID YOU…. " he closed the door and ran downstairs

" I'm so sorry for my brother, for some reason he has made it a point to Insult every friend I have over just cause he can, though he's just joking around don't take him too seriously.."

" but…. " he stared at the mirror " I'm a shrimp…? "

She chuckled and called him back to continue the movie, nishikata wasn't too keen on closing the distance between them so it took a little more time for him to get beside her, but she didn't complain and waited till he was settled there

The rest of the movie was relatively uneventful, there were the occasional glances and stares but nothing really major, just now his heart was throbbing a lot less than before he was still nervous but not that much…

Takagi stared at the floor where Nishikata was doing his pushups, nishikata reflected on the day and counted, " 32 today that's 320 pushups for me…" Nishikata began to start, he couldn't help but notice that takagi was staring at him, " this feels weird…."

" his slender frame doesn't really make it show, but he does have muscles, it's definitely more than when we went to the water park " " you really have been working out huh"

" well Yeah, it almost become a habit,"

" the muscles look cool"

Nishikata froze in his motion " what?"

" I said, your muscles look cool"

" T-Thanks…." he didn't know how respond to a compliment without blushing, takagi got up from her bed and went to the dresser and pulled out her light pink night dress

" I almost forgot you were here and I was about to start changing"

Nishikata blushed furiously, " I'll g-go out.." " was telling me that really necessary?!"

" no you continue with your pushups" , she disappeared into the bathroom outside her room

While he was still doing pushups Takagi's brother came again but this time rummaged through one of the boxes of takagi's table and pulled out some nice blue headphones " and she says she didn't see them, in never lending her these again…" he finally noticed Nishikata on the Floor doing his pushups " pushups eh? How many?"

"300.."

" not bad for your age, but don't just do pushups or your body will become stiff.."

" I do cycling in the morning as a part of my part time job, so that helps me with being flexible while being strong"

" I see… Your name?"

" Yuki Nishikata"

" Yosuke Takagi is what I'm called"

" your in college?"

" yup, and you in middle school or is it high school, you should be in the same grade as Rie so…"

" you don't remember the age or grade of your own sister?"

" it's not exactly important information is it" the guy said

" fair enough" nishikata observed her brother, he was tall had brown hair, there wasn't that much resemblance between the two other than the hair but you could tell he was her brother, " If you're in college what are studying to become?"

" I don't really know"

" what's that supposed to mean?"

" I mean i was always a good student so I just chose a general direction with my interests"

" I see…" Nishikata said while continuing his pushups

" Later " Yosuke walked outside the room…

After a few seconds Takagi was back, "How many today?"

" 320…"

" that's a random number"

" not really"

"I wonder what's up with that…" she said while poking his shoulder," the muscles get hard when you work out huh?" she ran her finger along the length of his arm

Nishikata immediately started to blush, " stop that…."

"oh? Make me." she pulled her arm around and poked at his other shoulder

Nishikata felt goosebumps as she ran her finger over his other arm, takagi's finger then turned around to his chest

" you even have abs…"

" stop that it gives me goosebumps…"

" oh? " she moved her hands and poked her side, he was on the floor laughing " as far as I can see you only get ticklish"

" damn it" he quickly thought of a way to get away from her so he rolled himself in blankets. Takagi chuckled as he had essentially trapped himself unable to move, she pulled at the cover and poked at it, but the blanket was thick enough to make it useless, " oh? good defence, you look a like cute little blue caterpillar"

" now you can't do anything" " did she just call me… Cute?"

" I don't think so" she sat beside his head," I can pretty much do whatever I want with you"

" what?"

" like for example…" she blew cold air into his ear, giving him goosebumps

" AHH Stop that!!!"

" or maybe even this" she pulled at the blanket and forced her arm inside

Nishikata felt even more goosebumps are he felt her hand pressed against his body, eventually her fingers reached his sides "no more tickling" he grabbed her hand and pulled her hand out of the blanket

Takagi chuckled more as the boy now covered himself in a blankets in a ball with no openings visible, " I'm not doing anything else, it was fun though"

" What does your definition of fun even mean?!"

" I wonder… " she said while switching off the lights, she almost stumbled into him before finally reaching her bed, " Good night Nishikata.."

" Y-yeah good night Takagi-san…"
