Percy woke up with excitement tingling in his body. He was going to Hogwarts today. It was six in the morning and he was going to be boarding the Hogwarts Express today. Finally. He had been waiting in the Leaky Cauldron for five days now, pacing up and down Diagon Alley, self-learning some of the spells and getting more and more hyped about it. Tom the barman had told him that the place is huge and beautiful and all of the guests at the bar who he'd chatted with told him that he'd enjoy Hogwarts. He turned around to hear a squawk and saw his owl, who he'd now dubbed Nyx.

"You're excited too, aren't you girl." To which she squawked again and flew out of the window.

To prepare for Hogwarts he had read up on a lot and he'd found that he actually enjoyed studying (at least the magic-related stuff) most of it and even the theory-while slightly boring- was bearable. And quench some of his mounting excitement, the day before, he'd even started self-learning some of the spells that sounded both useful and manageable. Turns out it wasn't that hard and he got them after an hour of practising (though Percy was sure it was because of his godly blood rather than his academic excellence). He'd already gotten the hang of Alohomora the unlocking spell, Lumos the light charm and Repero the fixing spell. Percy had decided the day before that today he would start learning Flipendo the knock-back jinx, something that was sure to be useful in a monster fight, and hopefully perfect it before he left for Hogwarts.

Percy took out his wand and swished it shouting out a clear "Flipendo!"

Nothing happened. But that was to be expected, Percy thought to himself. He wasn't supposed to be able to do it on the first try. As far as he was concerned, even completing it in half an hour would be an accomplishment. And so the next forty minutes were forty gruelling minutes as he tried performing the spell to no avail, occasionally managing to push back the book he was "fighting" just a little.

Tired and annoyed Percy thought to himself, didn't Hecate say that he would be stronger than the average wizard? Like, sure he managed to self learn spells but any wizard should be able to self learn a spell given the time. And they didn't spend an hour learning just one spell at school so it's not like he was doing the impossible. Then again maybe it's because he's just not doing it right. Hecate said that Percy's boost in magical power would come from his godly blood. So maybe he's not going about it correctly. And that to tap into his godly boost he needs to be using his godly powers.

With this thought in mind, Percy called upon the power of the sea and felt a small tug in his gut before shouting "Flipendo!".

This time the book was sent sailing across the room and knocking it into the wall. Percy cheered, he found out the way to tap into his godly prowess.

Percy looked around confused, this time not by magic, but by the lack of it. He had taken a tab to Kings Cross and found himself looking around desperately. He wasn't sure if he'd just missed something-He was new to Britain-but he doubted the wizards would put a secret entrance somewhere tangible to muggles. As he looked around for anything that looked even slightly magical, he saw a boy his age also searching around for nothing in particular-and he had an owl. Percy walked up to him almost immediately dragging his new bigger-on-the-inside trunk that he'd bought two days before and asked.

"Are you going to Hogwarts?"

"Yes, you two?"

"Yeah but I just can't find the platform nine and three quarters."

"Me neither, I've even asked the guard and he thought I was joking," said the boy, who looked just as frustrated as Percy felt.

"Well I guess we'll just have to wait till another witch or wizard comes," Percy said with a sigh of resignation.

"Well, I'm Harry Potter."

So this is who Hecate mentioned.

"Percy Jackson."

As they shook hands, they saw a family of redheads hurrying past and with and the also had an owl.

"-packed with muggles of course-" they heard one of them say.

"They must be going to Hogwarts too!" Percy said excitedly.

"Yes," Harry agreed, "Let's go ask them."

As they hurried over to the family, they heard the mother say, "Now, what's the platform number?"

"Nine and three quarters!" they heard a small girl pipe, "Mum, can't I go…"

Her mom was about to respond when Percy and Harry reached them. Harry called out first,

"Excuse me!"

The family turned to see use running up to them.

"We can't find the platform," Percy explained as Harry got his breath back.

"Oh," the mom said, "Hello dears, first time to Hogwarts? It's Ron's first year too." He pointed to a tall, thin and freckled boy. "Now," she said, "Percy, show them how to do it."

Percy first looked confused, but then the oldest boy of the bunch stepped up and Percy realized that he must have been named Percy too. The older Percy marched up and disappeared into the meatal barrier.

"Fred, you next,"

"I'm not Fred, I'm George," said the boy she was talking to. "Honestly woman, you call yourself our mother? Can't, you tell I'm George?

"Sorry, George, dear."

"Only joking, I am Fred," said the boy and into the Barrier he went, his twin following right behind.

The mother turned to us and said, "The platforms on the other side of the barrier, don't be scared of crashing, best do it at a bit of a run is you're nervous."

Harry and Percy both nodded and they ran at the same time to the barrier. Percy thinking that somehow this isn't even the weirdest entrance he'd gone through(the entrance to the underworld being a recording studio definitely still held that prize). And as they appeared to hit the wall they passed through to the other side. Percy looked around in awe to see a magnificent train awaiting them.

As they struggled to push their trunks into the compartment the twins from earlier came.

"Want a hand?" one of them asked.

They both nodded and the twins split, one helping each of them.

The twins must have realized something because they were suddenly awestruck.

Finally, they asked whether he was Harry Potter, to which Harry agreed. Then they asked who Percy was and Percy told them his name and that he was a transfer student and then they left.

Percy thought that it would be nice to meet some other first-year students and said as much to Harry. Harry said he just wanted to rest a bit and Percy left saying he'll come back.

As he walked down the corridor, he heard the redhead family talking and made out the lines, "Asked him. Saw his scar. It's really there-like lightning" and "He'll definitely be cooler than our Percy".

He walked down the tens of compartments, scanning for kids his age. Finally, after having passed at least five compartments, he came across a rather empty one and spotted two kids who looked his age sitting there. One of them was a boy with dark hair and the other was a girl with rather big front teeth and brown unmanageable hair. He sat down next to the girl and greeted them.

"Hi, I'm Perseus Jackson, call me Percy."

"Hermione Granger," the girl said, nodding a greeting.

"Neville Longbottom." The boy said quietly.

"Nice to meet you," Percy said, shaking both their hands.

"Are your first year as well?" Hermione inquired.

"Yeah."

"No offence, but your accent is a bit unusual," Hermione said again and Percy got the impression that she was someone like Annabeth, a curious and smart bookworm.

"Yeah, I'm from the states."

"Oh, that's quite rare you know. How did you end up here? I read that they have their own magical school in the states. "

Yup, she was definitely like Annabeth.

"Well, my father was a witch and he told my mother that he wanted me to go to Hogwarts. We made the request only last week and coincidentally, my name showed up on the acceptance book just a few hours before."

Percy was directly quoting the made-up backstory Dumbledore sent him via owl post two days ago. The part about the acceptance book was true-Hecate had apparently done it to avoid suspicion.

Hermione nodded and they began chatting about magic and Hogwarts, with Neville pitching in once a while as Percy had now come to learn that Neville had grown up in the wizarding world. It turned out that while Percy was the most excited over Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts, Hermione looked forward to Transfiguration the most, and Nevile while a bit nervous, had decided that he liked Herbology best. At one point Percy decided to ask them about spells.

"Do you guys know any yet?" he asked.

"No," Neville muttered.

"Yes!" Hermione said brightly.

"Which ones do you know?" Percy asked.

"I know the repairing charm!"

She got her telescope and threw it on the ground, shattering it instantly. Then, she promptly said "Reparo" and the pieces flew back.

Percy showed off a bit too, showing them the knock-back jinx before leaving, telling them he had promised a friend to return. Percy walked back through the many apartments and finally found Harry's one. The kid-Ron, Percy remembered-was sitting inside as well. Percy walked in, nodding them both a greeting and had just sat down when a witch pushing a trolley of wizarding sweets and snacks that Percy never heard of. Judging by Harry and Percy's confused faces, she explained the many wizarding delicacies. Ron didn't get any, instead of pulling out a rather disgusting-looking sandwich and Percy instantly knew what was up. And so when Harry asked for 10 of each, Percy asked for an additional twenty, turning their compartment into a candy vault.

Percy and Harry unanimously agreed to share with Ron, who tried to object but whats met by Percy and Harry's heartfelt refusals. And so they shared the candy and Ron taught them about each of them because as it turned out, Ron-like Neville-was from a wizarding family. At one point Ron looked uncomfortable about his families lack of wealth. And to remedy that, Percy explained his own situation.

"I used to live in a small apartment with my mother and horrible step-father. It was only after he left a year ago and my mom sold an art piece did we manage to make living improvements. It was only last week when I realised I had a super-rich father with a vault of gold."

Harry pitched in and said, "It's really the same for me too. I used to live with my horrible relatives and they didn't let me spend any of their money at all and I wouldn't get any birthday presents or anything."

Ron seemed to be a lot more cheerful, having heard similar troubles from his new friends.

"And until Hagrid told me, I didn't know anything about being a wizard or Voldermort killing my parents."

Ron gasped.

"What?" said Harry, and Percy felt just as confused.

"You said You-know-who's name!" said Ron, sounding stunned.

And that spiralled into a conversation about the traditions of wizarding Britain. Later on, Hermione came, apparently, Neville had lost his toad, and Hermione met Ron and Harry. As she saw fit to show them Reparo, Percy got out his wand.

"Lumos!" Percy said, and beams of light were emitted from the tip.

"That's cool!" Harry said, awe in his voice.

"Yeah, I wish I could do that," agreed Ron, sounding impressed.

After Hermione left, three boys entered the compartment. The obvious ringleader, a guy named Draco Malfoy asked about Harry and made fun of Ron. When Harry turned him down, Malfoy's cheeks turned pink. And then he proceeded to threaten Harry, saying he'll end up like his parents if he's not careful.

This crossed the line and Percy stepped up and snarled, "Who do you think you are, wannabe?!"

"And you are?"

"Percy Jackson."

"Blood status?"

"Half-blood."

"Well, as someone with some form of blood stature should know that I'm from the noble house of Malfoy," He drawled.

"I don't give a heck who your mommy and daddy are."

He sneered, his eyes narrowed and his bodyguards cracked their knuckles. Then suddenly Goyle screamed and shook his hand rapidly, trying to shake of a rat with its teeth buried in his hand.

Percy shouted, "Flipendo," blasting them out of the compartment.

They all laughed and cheered and ate more candy. An hour later Hermione came to tell them to get into their school robes. About ten minutes later, the train came to a halt and Percy saw the magnificent scene before him. He couldn't believe he was saying this but this was going to be an AMAZING school year!
